I hired Lowe's Cleaning Services to clean the duct and evaporator coil of my furnace. They were quick to respond and were able to schedule someone same day, which I needed since I was going out of town the next day. They sent two guys as my unit is an industrial roof-top kind (no idea why). They went through each vent with their rotor brush and vacuum and were clean and efficient. Malden, the main guy, was very polite and explained the findings. Two weeks later, we smelled a burning smell coming from the vents. Had a furnace technician out here to diagnose the issue and he mentioned some insulation was touching the the metal tubes that the fire goes through. He said it's possible the vacuum could have pulled some insulation out of its spot but could not say for sure. I contacted Lowe's and they said they would check it out right away. Malden came back and noticed the smell and immediately started disassembling the furnace. Was able to find the insulation under the motor and cut it away. We turned the furnace back on and he waited to make sure the smell went away, which it did. They went above and beyond to help out, even when the cause of the smell wasn't directly known. He explained what he would do and completed his job: vacuuming & sanitizing 16 vents, 2 returns & 2 gas clothes dryer vents. One of my friends referred to them and I looked at their deals online and was convinced especically complementary first and after pictures of the condition of the ducts. I was told that the person who will come to perform the service will investigate and suggest what services are required to be done. However, the catchy part was that the guy opened the coil part and it was very clean, he did some vacuum on that for a second and then it was charged an extra $100 for that job, which was ridiculous. Also no before/after pictures as advertised and I don't know what they actually cleaned. Things could have been perfect if they handled the above-listed concerns, I do have two other systems installed in my house but probably won't be using their services and be extra careful with anyone who I'll ask to come for servicing those. First off, let me say that the services Lowe's performed seemed fine and to the standards I expected. If I was buying on quality of service alone, I would give them four stars. However, if you DON'T want your experience to also feel like a combination of a mattress store and used car purchase, stay far, far away. The short version is find a service where the price is the price and they won't be trying to upsell you the entire time. The tech arrived around 3pm and everything started just fine. However, about 30 minutes in he began telling my wife how dirty all of the vents were: over and over. I should have seen it coming. Finally, after 2 1/2 hours in, at 5:30 (when the last thing you want is a tech in your home), he brings me down to the basement to show me just how dirty and how the coils to my furnace were dirty. And.....if I wanted him to clean them, he normally charges $150, but for me, would give me special of $99. At this point, I felt like I had no choice as it was late and my kids were hungry. In hindsight, though, i realized the reason they were dirty is from dirty he pulled down from the ducts and they weren't like that when he came in. As I said, its the classic upselling at a mattress store and what all of other services warn you about. Now, here's the worst part. I assumed he would clean up his mess, but after he left, I returned to the basement to find the dirty filters with piles of dirt and mess on top of them as well as my basement floor with dirt all over it. After moving into my new home there was a bit of residual odor from the previous owner who smoked. I stumbled upon Lowe's Cleaning Services from Yelp and Google search. From what little reviews I saw from their website, I was convinced I would give them a try. I figured if they deviated from their quoted price from their website (it was $249 special deal for duct cleaning, sanitation, and dryer vent cleaning), I could always kick them to the curb and get someone else. I was pleasantly surprised! I made the appointment and Nick was asked were two questions: How many furnace I had and how many floors are in the house - and they do cleaning on Sundays! Milo came at the reserved time and only asked to look at where the furnace was and all the openings and returns and he started working. No haggling and nothing. Once he completed the work, I had ask him why one of the room was really cold and he found the problem and helped with fixing the problem - at no extra charge! I tipped the guy on his way out. After having a really bad experience with a different company that also does duct cleaning, among other thing, Lowe's Cleaning Services is a breath of fresh air and they charge half the price than that other company that does work four seasons of the year. On Tuesday 7/18/20 I contacted Lowes cleaning services to try n obtain services to get my ducts cleaned. Tim took the call, ever so pleasant, n confident. He informed me that someone would come out on that upcoming Thursday the 20th @ 3pm, he would also send me a confirmation email. I NEVER received a email or services rendered. On Thursday @ about 10min to my scheduled time I had not heard anything so I took the liberty to reach out to them. Tim answers the phone and assures me someone would still be coming. 20mins now past my scheduled time, someone now calls n says they couldn't make the service call due to car trouble(as though, they have one car to service their business. So now @ this point I'm irritated cause Ive been waiting and inconvenienced. He then ask if I would like to reschedule, I say no because to me they didn't even try to complete the service, after saying I would go with someone else, then n only then, do they offer a minute compensation. I then agree to let them come on Sunday, I prepare and alter another schedule to be available on Sunday @ 12(the day and time they suggest). Today Sunday early AM do I receive a text to say they again won't be able to come, because this one driver NOW is sick. This is the most unprofessional and incompetent place of business I've ever attempted to render a service from. The technician who came to service my home was polite and professional he seemed knowledgeable about air ducts and air quality. The reason for the three starts is that I used the quote system through Yelp and in the quote provided they were very clear there were no hidden fees. Unfortunately, towards the end of the service the technician came to me with a handful of dirt and explained that I really needed to have my furnace and air conditioner cleaned along with my vents to make the entire project worth it. I of course don't know much about air duct cleaning and would necessarily assume that wasn't part of doing the cleaning. But mostly I REALLY did not appreciate this type of upsell after being so clear in the quote that, that is not what they were about. It just made the entire experience feel bad. If they wanted to do the upsell they should have done it during the phone call when I was scheduling after choosing them based on their low price. I also felt bad for the technician because clearly he was uncomfortable with this method of sales. I do think they did a good job i just didn't appreciate this approach and regret spending the extra $100 because I felt uncomfortable. read more

I called and scheduled a cleaning of the air ducts in my home as well as the cleaning of the dryer vent. On the day of service they were to arrive between a certain timeframe. I called shortly after the scheduled window (as they had not arrived yet) just so I could finish planning my day. The individual I spoke with stated a time frame 2 hours later than the confirmed time I received via email when the appointment was originally scheduled. I asked the individual why I was not notified of the change in time and he didn't have a reason and apologized. He stated that they could reschedule the service to another date if the later time did not work. As I have already rearranged my schedule for the day I stated I was OK with the later time as long as they arrived by the start time in which the individual stated they should be there by the later start time. Fifteen minutes before the time the individual stated that they would be here by I received a call informing me that unfortunately they would not be able to make it as the equipment had broke down and that I would need to reschedule to a later date. Because of the inconvenience of having to reschedule they were willing to give me a $20 discount on the future service. I informed them that I would not be rescheduling the service with them and would be taking my business elsewhere. In the end, if you want to arrange your day around a service call to your home only to have them 1) not notify you of a schedule change and 2) calling you with an excuse that their equipment broke down and basically wasting your day then this is the company to go with. read more

I had a pretty enjoyable experience. They confirmed the appointment via Email and my technician, Milos came over. He promptly started on the vents and asked about my coil. However, I was charged $100 more to clean the A-Coil in the vent. I was later informed, this probably could have been done after and by myself, which is fine. I wish they would have dropped the price more after kind of forcing the cleaning saying, "well, after we clean your ducts this coil will be dirty and blow back into the vents". Okay. No problem. Vents pulled off, cleaned properly. He brought the vacuum and even cleaned the dryer duct. He showed me the junk caught from the ducts and dryer vent. However, the only flaws (if I had to takeaway) is that I emailed them ten hours before the appointment asking about cameras and the ability to see "before" and "after" of the vents in case they could have brought the equipment. The company did not reply back and still has not. They responded to my inquiry to set an appointment quicker. Milos, however, was professional, but one of the grates he removed, he pushed back in and the screw wouldn't go back in. He pushed it back in and when I went to move the lever to open the grate the whole side popped out. I just wish he would have made that known to me. Not a problem. Do NOT use this company for air duct cleaning. My air conditioning was working fine before they got here. Had home inspection and everything was reported fine two weeks prior to them coming. Two weeks later Lowe's air duct cleaning comes in takes a vacuum and cleans out vents and then tells me the coil is broken and it was already broken before. Now the furnace is leaking in the basement, extreme rattling, and the air conditioning hasn't been working ever since. Found the tech using MY shop vac cleaning out the vent. Little did he know there was NO filter in it and all the dust was blowing out from the vent right back into the air of my basement. When I called the technician and manager Nick, they were extremely unprofessional and denied doing anything saying my air conditioning is "100 years old". This is a WASTE OF MONEY. We recently finished painting our entire home and after reading several reviews we decided to engage Lowe's this time for a complete premium package (for two furnaces). Over 15 years we have engaged a couple of air duct service companies who also were equally good but there is something about Lowes which we felt where the cleaning was most comprehensive and thorough. No upselling and everything accurately explained during order taking. John who was the service technician was very efficient, sincere and meticulously serviced our house. He took great care as if it was his own home. The entire process took a long time (almost 3-4 hours) planning and executing each job. John explained all the services and also ensured to move the furnitures prior to closing and cleaning each vent. He showed us the furnace air coil cleaning ( highly recommended once every 3 years) process and I was amazed to see the grime accumulated in the coils. I am very glad we did this as normal furnace tune up don't cover the coils. Lastly, we are so glad we did the dryer vent cleaning. Over the past years, I did it myself by using a blower air through the dryer exhausts thinking it was removing all the lint and blowing it outside. Little did I know that it got stuck at the end as the vent had a netted mesh to prevent rodents. This mesh prevented large lint balls from escaping and over the years just keep accumulating. John removed this mesh and showed me a huge stack of lint that was removed and cleaned. This was a major fire hazard and we are so glad it was cleaned professionally. This company is horrible. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. TURN AND RUN. DO NOT FALL FOR THE FAKE REVIEWS ONLINE. The "manager" Nick Desio has terrible customer service skills. The company supposedly offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee or your money back, this is a lie. The technician Milos came to my house to clean my vents. He left my vents in a terrible mess. He left my vent that goes into the furnace so clogged, I had to call a heating and ac tech to come out to address the issue because less than 4 hours after he left my ac unit was freezing up and now blowing out air and cooling my house like it was prior to their "cleaning services." The AC/furnace unit was also making a LOUD whistling noise. This was after Milos came back to "fix" the issue, which he did not fix. All he did was tape up the leaks around my vent system in the basement. I called to speak with Nick regarding the issue and was told he will address the issue with the claims department. After several weeks of him telling me they are still working on the investigation I got fed up and demanded a refund. I was told, Nick would give me a credit with the company and send his best technician to my house to address the vents that still smell and are not cleaned as I was promised they would be. I asked why he has someone like Milos working for him if he cannot call him one of his best technicians and has to resend someone else to fix his mistakes. I was then told Milos was one of his best technicians and he gets excellent reviews from every customer. That does not make any sense . . . he then stated, "you know what I will tell Milos to send you a personal check for the damages and refund of the cleaning." WHAT A JOKE. He then said Milos says I am a liar and my house is so disgusting it would never get cleaned and he did nothing wrong. He also stated "Milos has a wife who does not work and 3 kids and I should feel ashamed to make him pay me out of his pocket."
