My friend and I came here for dinner, parking was a bit limited. We got sat pretty quick for it being a busy night. The vibes were cozy and very candle lit diner, I had to use my phone to look at the menu. We got our drink orders out and then the food orders came after they brought our drinks. I had order the chicken fried Ribeye and it was so delicious, and my friend had the Linguini pasta. For drinks I had the Shenanigans which had a great flavor close to a Mexican candy drink. The server took a while to check on us at the end and when he finally did we ordered desert. We got pecan pie and vanilla ice cream. We thought the pie would be a little more fresh or at least warm but it's your topical thawed out pre baked pie, the vanilla ice cream made up for it. Over all great establishment but the people who attended it are all pretty high posh, the girl sitting next to my friend kept grabbing her purse like 5 times *yes I counted* as if he was going to steal her ugly bag. We just ignored it and ate our nice dinner. We'll be coming back at a different time when it's not so busy. read more

Food was good, but not exceptional. Service was slow, and spotty. Had to waive down server to take drink order, appetizers and entrees. Seemed to be understaffed. Ordered a second bottle of wine and they didn't bring it till we were almost done with dinner, and they wouldn't have brought it at all if I hadn't reminded the server. Let me just say first, I've been to Lounge Here at least 15-20 times in the past few years. Service was always good, food was always good, ambience is always good. My husband and I went with another couple last Saturday night. We were promptly seated at our table at 6:30p (we had reservations) and we were given the crock of water shortly thereafter. It took a little longer than usual to actually be asked from a server what we would like to drink - maybe 15 minutes, as the restaurant started quickly filling up. It took another 15 min to actually get our drinks. At that time we ordered a couple appetizers - deviled eggs, chicken buffalo skewers and mussels. They all came out at the same time with different runners which was fine but the gentlemen who was carrying the mussels, spilled the VERY HOT and oily mussel juice on our friends right shoulder, down the arm and onto his khaki shorts. Our friend's arm was burning and although the runner quickly apologized, the after-response was lacking. Our friend actually had to ask him for something to wipe off his shirt and arm and he brought him a used dry bar cloth. The response was a bit lackluster to something that should have been a little urgent in my mind. No manager came over. My friend actually had to go to the bar and ask for some club soda. The server came over and said "we are so sorry, the mussels are on us". Okay... but meanwhile my friend is standing at a packed bar with his club soda and a bar rag trying to wipe off the hot juice from his arm and soiled shorts. No manager came to see him - he actually had to ask for one. THat's when a young lady (looked like maybe age 25?) came over and apologized. She was the manager and didn't know the story yet but he told her. She apologized for the situation - that was it. My friend actually had to ask her if they would be able to pay for cleaning of his shorts and she said "what do you mean"? After he showed them to her, she said she could take down his information and get with her boss. That was it... she didn't come apologize to our table for the mishap, didn't ask what she could do or anything. As the night when on, our server apologized again to us but weirdly, our service became super slow from him after that. I'm thinking maybe he was embarrased and just didn't want to deal with us anymore? My husband actually ordered another drink and he finally just asked them to cancel it after 20 minutes! I do hope the night was just off on service because I do love this place. Just think if the owner was there (as in in the past years) or maybe had a more experienced manager on duty, the service would have been more on par and the situation would have been handled better. Maybe like so many other places these days - people just don't care as much and we need to lower our expectations... :( read more

I came here for my birthday and it is a cute little place off of Garland Road. The food and drinks were amazing. We will try the brunch someday. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits and I had the chicken fried steak. The only thing I wish they could have done better was deliver our food together. My hubby got his shrimp and grits and I did not get my meal until 12 min after. I asked my husband to go ahead and eat so his food doesn't get cold but he waited. This was the only disappointment for this place. My husband did not want to eat while I sat in front of him waiting for my food. Stopped in here for drinks after visiting the Arboretum on a Sunday afternoon. Without knowing much about the area around White Rock Lake, we turned to Yelp to find a local spot. We never would have found it driving by! Don't let the exterior dissuade you from stepping inside. I came here at 4:10 and it was super sterile inside with the staff all on their phones minus one guy who was doing work instead of a hello one of them side eyes me and says " no way it's 4:00" ... terrible customer service. If you haven't been to this gem, get on a reservation ASAP. It's perfect for date night or a small group brunch, but don't expect to fit more than 6-7. Tables are small and intimate. Parking is also tight -- I recommend Ubering or carpooling. The businesses next door are serious about their tow threats. Our group of seven ladies drank the bar out of their house Prosecco (oops) and turned a birthday brunch into an all-day Sunday Funday. Not once did we ever feel rushed or unwelcome (even as staff turned over for dinner shift). Our server Brendan was chill, attentive and took care of our multiple "just one more!" requests with ease and an affable attitude. I am NOT a hollandaise fan, but the Cajun hollandaise on the Eggs Benedict Po Boy turned me around. And the fries? I'll take another order please! I also recommend the deviled eggs and candied jalapeño toast. Both were excellent and unique ways to start the meal. From the food to the drinks to the service, it all went above my expectations.
