First....i love supporting local businesses! Second...this place NEVER disappoints! The service is great! They're on top of it whether busy or just an average night. The drinks are always good, especially if looking for an old fashioned. Let's talk about the food! The green beans served with the vodka shrimp are so delicious I've had to tell my husband to stay off my plate. The vodka shrimp is good too, along with the Lochland burger or any burger here. My out of town friend loved the shepherd's pie. We had to bring her twice just so she could have it again before leaving town. This place has some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. So knowing how good this all is.....run. This place is amazing and who wouldn't want to hang in an Irish pub on a nice afternoon or take a date in the evening? They have a nice outdoor beer garden too.

We went to Lochland's to celebrate my 63rd birthday. As I'm attempting to reconnect with my Irish roots. I ordered the Fish and Chips, which came out piping hot and seasoned very well. After adding the vinegar and tarter sauce my meal was as good as I was hoping it would be. My best friend ordered the Lochland Burger, which was cooked to perfection and the fries were equally as good. My other friend ordered the Chicken and Fries, which was also seasoned very well. There was a Dallas Stars game on during my visit, however the crowd was not to load or unruly. My experience during my visit was as good as could be expected. The staff was very Pleasent to work with, and we never felt neglected or rushed. All in all my 63th birthday celebration was a huge success. I'll be back soon, as I need to order that Shepards Pie. Looking forward to my next visit

Cioppino- only served during the cooler months

We went for lunch on a Friday. The atmosphere was a classic Irish pub. I've been here many times. Every visit has been fantastic. The food, drinks, and service are always stellar. I've been eyeing the cioppino for some time now. I tend to always miss the season when I want to order it. I finally decided to ask when the season is. Basically between the months of October until March. I was also informed that they might be able to make it off season as well if you just ask. The soup took about 15 minutes to be made. It came out piping hot, you could tell it was made from scratch. It was delivered in a large bowl with another large bowl for your shells. It was chock full of mussels, squid, white fish, and about 5 shrimp. The broth was good but a little under seasoned. It had plenty of aromatics but lacked body and salt. It came with bread but the broth wasn't rich enough to dip. It just tasted like wet toast. It was quality, just not too my standard especially for the price as it's one of the more expensive items on the menu. All in all this place is great. Just find something that looks good to you and I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself. Happy hour is great. I found out the specials in the food items are reduced portions. For a couple it's the prefect sharing amount.

A nice restaurant with good food. The waitstaff is attentive. I had eggs florentine and it was good and I also liked the crispy potatoes and coffee. The ambience is welcoming. Nice place all around.

Met a friend for dinner, and we wanted to go somewhere easy. This was this place, big beer garden. Friendly vibe. Not too busy, The cocktail and drink list is long, so many things to choose from. I tried the ultimate gin and tonic for a cocktail. It was good. Switched to a Hefeweizen with dinner, We shared the cheese board. So good. Solid selection of cheese: Brie, Humboldt fog, and manchego. I followed that up with a Reuben. It was good.. Totally hit the spot. Layers of flavors. Didn't fall apart. Will indulge again

So the wife was craving some good fish and chips and she rarely craves that and we didn't want to make the hike to Frisco to eat really good fish and chips at the Aussie Grind, so I found this place. As you walk in, you pretty much seat yourself. We got seated and the service was on it. The service was great for sure. We ordered the fish and chips of course and when it came out, it was pipping hot is how my wife likes her food, basically burning her mouth, LOL! They make their own ranch and tartar sauce and those were good. The fish was crispy and not overly greasy. The fries were good but could have been better and more could have been served on each plate. I was looking for them to be those steak fries that normally see with fish and chips. These were skinny compared to steak fries. The bottom line is that everything tasted good, but I will say that this meal sat with me all day long. I'm curious to know what is in the batter as far as seasoning goes, because again, it just sat right there all day long. So there it is, that's my review. :-)

I went on a Friday evening. The interior of the pub was cool. It was dimly lit and the decor was spot on. Wooden floors, vintage looking light fixtures. I was craving fish & chips & Lochlands had been pinned to try for a while. It's a seat yourself pub & service was quick. I was disappointed in my fish, but the fries were great! The portion of the fish was good, but it was the lack of flakiness was a let down. I'd like to go back & try something else. They also have a cute looking beer garden.

LOVED this place. To start off, I am fish and chips obsessed, and a i've tried just about every place in Dallas. This place is IT. I've been getting really tired of restaurants raising their prices for this dish and not offering anything special. Lochland's serves a very generous portion (this is the only place I have ever needed a box for), amaaaaazing house made sauces, including a dill-forward tartar that is superb, fantastic french fries and a very fresh side of coleslaw. This is WELL worth the $17, and I can't say that for many places in Dallas, if any at all. We also got a bloody merry and an order of wings, both of which were excellent. The spicy sauce was a winner. The restaurant was very cute itself, and best of all, the staff was so kind and attentive. Our waiter was great and a very kind lady (the manger?) checked on us several times and even sent over and extra side of coleslaw when she saw how enthusiastic I was about the fish and chips . I think this will be my new spot and I HIGHLY recommend you give Lochland's a try. Safe to say, everything we had was a success.

STEPH JUDGEMENT: A friendly neighborhood Irish pub great for an above-average casual meal. Came here for a weeknight dinner with some friends and we immediately felt comfortable, friendly vibes as we walked in. The hubby and I started things off with a Frozen Paloma and a Gin and tonic made with fever tree--both great. We also got an order of the battered mushrooms with creamy horseradish sauce, but felt the sauce wasn't spicy enough so we asked for just a whole other thing of horseradish and that did the trick. I got their ceviche, which was just ok--the fish was kind of tough. I suspect it was cooked first, and not allowed to cook with the acid. Putting Cholula on it helped, but I wouldn't bother ordering that again. I just looked up their menu all these months later and I didn't see those items on their menu--perhaps just as well. The hubby's vegan shepherd's pie was excellent, though (they do have a regular meat version as well), as were the accompanying perfectly crisp tots. Our friends got the Lochland Burger with fries, and the fish and chips, and both got a thumbs up. For a sweet ending, we took a Sticky toffee pudding to go, as we were too full to properly enjoy it right after dinner, and it was VERY good a couple of hours later. Overall, a very good experience, and we wouldn't hesitate to try them again!

We went there to watch Game 1 of World Series. Go Rangers! Good selection of beers on tap and a huge selection of bottled and cans! The fried mushrooms are excellent. The Rueben sandwiches excellent and one of tastiest I ever had. Sauerkraut really makes it outstanding. Great flavor. I could eat a bowl by itself it is that good. We sat at the bar and Leslie was doing a great job slinging whiskey for everyone. Parking lot is small with subcompact parking. I definitely will return when I am back in Dallas.

In the end, we all just try to tally up the wins and losses and try our best to rate a restaurant. This is my story. Usually when traveling, I try to get in a smattering of different genres of food. Mostly because I tire easy. Like when walking. I also try to get in some of the best things I like. Which are burgers. And wings. I'm also kind of a sucker for wildly long names of things. Which is exactly where good friend beer garden and burger house comes in. I really dug the look of the place. Open concept with the outside, outdoor seating, cool lighting ambiance. Just a really cool vibe and feel. Like a dorm room after your freshmen year. You know, once you get everything figured out and you aren't bunking with that weirdo with all the waifu pictures hanging up and FaceTimes with his cat. I will say though, the only weird drawback this place had was it was DARK on the inside. Never really had that problem before. Wouldn't have been an issue had I remembered my headlamp, but I left it back in the mines. And in all honesty, I don't care too much about the state of the building around me as long as the food hits hard. I was pumped about the wings as they seemed to have an assortment of flavors. I ordered four and thinking back, I can't remember why. Maybe that was the minimum, maybe you could only order in increments of four. Nobody really knows at this point and I'm way too far away to drive back and ask. So, four wings. You were able to split the sauces. Not like atoms, but like different flavors. This is food, not science. So, like a good CERN scientist, I requested split sauce. I inquired about the KFC flavoring and the server told me it was a rub and their version of secret blend of herbs and spices. I'm not a fan of rubs simply because if I'm going to eat wings, I want them saucy and messy. Like my relationships. BUT he said, and I quote "it's really good." That was all I needed to hear. Sign me up. After the rub I knew I needed a sauce. I settled with the Mild because it seemed like a good middle of the road. Man. Sometimes you do wings right and sometimes you do wings RIGHT. The KFC rub was 100% top tier rub. It wasn't a light rub which I've experienced before, it was a full on flavor soak. Make no mistake, you were going to experience that rub flavor. It was so good if I accidentally got some on my fingers, I'd just have nubs left. The Mild sauce was also top tier. Although I will say it seemed a few steps above a mild sauce. It was like a Low to Mid Hot sauce wearing a Mild sauce mask. Like the kind your mom and dad used to wear at those parties you weren't allowed to go to. Oh, and the wings had that chef's kiss crunch and that chiefs kiss juiciness. 10/10 want to experience these wings again in a Groundhog's Day setting. Now let's talk burger. I have found that I love smash burgers. I have not figured out yet how to make a delicious one myself, so I rely on the skill of others. Much like everything else in my life. Except dentistry. I do that myself. Castaway style. I ordered the Bourdain which included the patties, cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and Kewpie mayo. Not sure what that last one is, but I like condiments on my burg, so sign me up. I'll let you in on a little secret, I used to make burgs for the Bee's back in my heyday. And a little deeper secret, I can't remember how we stacked them. That being said, when I make my personal burgers, everything is on top of the burger. I'll sometimes do a condiment or two on the bottom, but I have no real methodology. In my mind, you want that patty to hit those taste buds first. No middle man. Like the lawyer you kept having to talk to when trying to figure out which parent you wanted to live with. The Bourdain burger did the exact opposite with this burger. It had the lettuce and pickle as a buffer between meat and tongue. And honestly, I think that might have been what turned me off to the burger. I patties had good flavor, but it felt like it came in too late because I tasted toppings first. In my burger mind, this hurt more than it helped. Side Note: Fries were good. The spicy ranch would peel the paint off of any car, spot weld iron beams, and melt through your hand without protective gloves. It's hurting my mouth to even write this. PS Sorry for the sideways photos. I hate that, too. Chicken Wings: 12/10 Burger: 7/10 Spicy Ranch: Please Don't
