Lounge 201 is a restaurant and bar inside of DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Albuquerque. They are open for lunch and dinner. My cousins and I enjoyed some drinks here when we first checked in and we also grabbed late dinner here on the last night of our stay. There is a tradeoff for convenience so don't expect too much of the food or service here. I can see why the waitress would be flustered while it's busy but she was just as flustered when we were the only guest around so I think it's just her personality. For dinner we shared the Spinach Dip ($9) which comes with toasted flatbread and tortilla chips. I really like that it comes with two different types of carbs to dip but then the spinach dip itself was tiny and you will easily have extra flatbread and chips in ratio to the dip. For our entrees my cousins had the Braised Beef Torta ($11) and one of the Taco entrees ($11-12). It seemed "okay". I had the Breaking Bad Salad ($14) which is probably the world's most unhealthy salad. It had spring mix and romaine, smoked bacon, pulled pork, cheddar jack cheese, chopped egg, tomato, cucumber and crispy fried onions. It was slightly overdressed and heavy for a salad, but an edible option. I'm glad the hotel had a restaurant and it was convenient. My low expectations were met and I survived the evening. 4 stars since we were in Albuquerque but it would be 3 stars in any other decent food scene. read more

I stayed at the DoubleTree in Albuquerque on October 7 and stopped by the bar at 9:07 PM for a quick drink and (maybe) a bite. Despite posted hours (kitchen open until 9:30 PM, bar until 10 PM), no employees were visible for nearly ten minutes after I arrived. I asked the other four other patrons if it was closed. They said, "No, the service just sucks." When the bartender finally emerged from the back, there was no greeting, no eye contact, and no offer of a menu--just a curt "What can I get you?" while walking away. I asked for a tequila; he said they were out. I pointed to a bottle on the shelf, and he replied, "You mean the añejo?" I said yes and asked the price. His response: "I have no clue." When I asked if he could look it up, he seemed annoyed. This was during one of the busiest weeks of the year, yet the bar was clearly staffed with the C-team. For a hotel I stay at six or more times a year, this was disappointing and unprofessional. I'll continue staying here for convenience--but I won't be eating or drinking at the bar again until management takes service seriously. read more

We were pretty impressed with the restaurant within a hotel. We needed a quick stack, and this place was able to provide a really really excellent burger. The food of Albuquerque is green hatch chile, and the burger was covered in a spicy, tangy chile. They cook it with water, and their fries are actually pretty good: crispy and fresh. The other times I've eaten here in the past, I've had good experiences (good nachos and loaded fries, both covered in that chile. read more

I had the Stacked Enchiladas and it came with corn on the cob smothered with elote and supposed to be with beans but they were out so I was given green chili stew and it was still very delicious! Kayt was the only server working the bar and restaurant. She was busy but still managed to get everyone's order in a timely manner. The mood was quiet but still had that lounge feel with the music and some people chatting at the bar. It was great, I felt like I was in a different place. I like this bar on weekday nights because it's quiet, so I can talk with whoever I'm there with, open late, and because the kitchen is open until 9pm. The food there is pretty tasty, too, just served in small portions. We had two taco dishes with our drinks and there were two tacos, plus chips on each plate. I came here to grab a bite to eat after my flight was canceled and was put up in the doubletree. The Christmas enchiladas were good, a bit on the pricey side at $16 for what you get, but overallnot bad. It's the customer service part that's not that great here. Everyone working at the bar seems upset and they weren't the friendliest people. I had also asked about their daily happy hour and I was told they no longer have it every day. However, the room hotel guide says the they have a daily happy hour. It seems like the lounge and hotel need to coordinate better. read more

Not bad for a hotel restaurant. The setup was nice, with plenty of seats around the bar and lots of tables as well. They ya several TV's as well. I had a Moscow mule (they even had copper mugs) and the chicken enchiladas. My drink was made perfectly and the meal was great. I chose the red sauce, which gave that slight tingle on your lips. It was the perfect amount of heat for me. It was packed with chicken as well. read more

Ok, despite eating with a crowd of foodies we ended up here because it was hailing and sleeting outside with huge wind gusts and we couldn't stand going outside again. It's the hotel lobby restaurant with a sad wine list and only a couple New Mexican dishes. I had the green chili pork stew. The waiter warned me that it wasn't as good as his mom's but I figured I should try it anyway. Pork a little tough, a little salty, but still a nice stewy meal on a miserable day. Waiter was totally overwhelmed though so folks never got things they ordered and it took a long time to get our food. But better than being outside! read more

Upon arriving in my hotel last night. I was starving & exhausted. I approached the bar and the brunette with glass was so unprofessional that I wish this had less than one star. I walked right up to her as she was speaking with a couple at the bar. She was not serving them at time being she was just running her mouth. "Where are you guys from blah blah" so common courtesy I didn't interrupt the conversation but I waited next to the couple she was engaging and never once looked at me. Another server walked up to bar 30-40' away so I spoke to her, got a menu she sat me down and I asked If anyone else was working besides her. She laughed and looked at the other talking away. I was then taken care of by another blonde lady that was super nice and very great service. This server at the bar needs to learn customer service 101, and possibly bathroom clean up until she gets it together. read more

During my stay in Albuquerque (August 19-23), I had dinner here 3 nights. First night, I had the carne adovada burrito for $15. It was a more filling burrito than what I'm used to back home. I truly liked it and regret I wasn't able to finish it. Third night, I had the grilled artic salmon for $26. This was my favorite meal on this trip! The sweet and spicy sauces, that accompany it, truly make this memorable. Fourth (and final) night, I had the New Mexican (Christmas style) burger for $12. I chose the side salad over the fries. This burger is considered "Christmas style" because it contains both hatch green AND hatch red chile. I loved this and would definitely order this again. So, yes, this is a hotel bar, but I'm telling you, I was pleasantly surprised. First the bartender (with a fun personality, by the way), made a fantastic recommendation with the Cucumber Fresh cocktail. I admit, I was pretty skeptical of the cucumber sake, but it was awesome! I also got the enchiladas at the bartender's recommendation, because, hey, he was spot on with the cocktail. He was right again! He even explained the difference between red and green chiles to this traveling novice. It's nice to have someone knowledgeable behind the bar. Thanks, dude with personality. I was at the hotel this bar is in for a college academic conference. The hotel as a whole is good. But I was definitely impressed by the bar. Polite staff, delicious drinks, and tasty food. They have a few local/state beers as well as some house cocktails. They also have some more popular spirits and beers. I'd recommend trying the Santa Fe 7k beer, 201 modras cocktail, and the Sandia sunset cocktail. For food, definitely try the blue crab and shrimp campechana. I'm initially from maryland so I was raised to be very critical of blue crab dishes. This one satisfies. Honestly, I'll probably order it again before I finish my trip. The service is also great. The bartender is polite, and I had a good conversation with them. Definitely try this bar if you are at the hotel read more

Was actually surprised at how good the food was for being 4pm and being pretty empty! The grilled cheese was soooooo good, words don't do it justice. And the side salad wasn't some cheap salad either! The white balsamic vinaigrette was amazing. My boyfriend had the Albuquerque turkey and he loved it! I tried his fries and they were also really good! It had a seasoned crunchy exterior. The price was also really decent! $10 for the grilled cheese and $11 for the turkey. It was a huge sandwich, I couldn't even finish it! I would definitely recommend this place if staying at the doubletree.
