I'm visiting Mom and we finally made it to Pappadeaux!!! They don't have one in Maryland, so I had to induldge while I was in town for the Balloon Fiesta. The hostess was very polite, cheerful and helpful when she sat us at our table. After taking us to our original table I requested to be seated by the window and she quickly accommodated us. Then Kara, our server came and she too was a joy! I've gotta say, the staff is amazing. She answered our questions about the food, explained the dishes made for their 40th anniversary, and checked on us often. Mom and I both ordered the shrimp montage. It was the limited time dish made for their 40 Fest and it was delicious!!! I also ordered the crispy shrimp spring rolls. They came with fresh lettuce leaves. The concept it to wrap them in the lettuce to give them more crunch. YUM!!! They were delicious. The cream cheese gave it that extra umph! They were bigger than I expected so I brought some home. Oh yeah, the garlic bread is divine! My partner ordered the seafood campanelle pasta, but replaced the Campanella pasta with linguini. We both love octopus, so I had to try it. That dish was also tasty. The pesto sauce was so fresh! She also brought the sweet potato pecan pie home. It was good. It tasted like your typical pecan pie with a hint of sweet potato. For drinks I had their local IPA, Mom had a margarita, and my partner had the pineapple refresher which was tasty. It's been year since I've been to Pappadeaux, but this visit reminded me why I love it so much. I'll make sure to come back on my next visit home. read more

Joy and I both had the Rainbow Trout with Crab. It was DELICIOUS! We don't care for blackened, so we got ours pan grilled. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Usually I need to ad a little salt. Not with this one. My only complaint about the meal was the loaf of bread. It was a crusty baguette, but there was nothing to cut it with. When we ripped into it, the crumb turned into a ball of dough and list all of the airiness that makes bread good. Our server was great. She was very patient and took time to explain the special menu they had for a three course meal that helped benefit the local food bank. She was very attentive, but not assertive. It was well decorated and had a pleasant atmosphere. However, being seated next to the bar AND the kitchen, it was quite loud and noisey. The servers were very noisy slamming the tray stands around. But, I am not going to deduct a star for that. If we had sat elsewhere, it would not have been so bad. Would I go again? Absolutely. I recommend that everyone should try it at least once! read more

I hadn't been to Pappadeaux in years, and a few of my friends came into town so we went to eat there. I forgot how fun the front set up is with the colorful lighting and water fountain. It's lovely outside and in. Though the building has been there for many years now, they have remained in business and kept up on the cleanliness. It's still beautiful! I ordered the chopped salad with salmon. The salad was absolutely delicious, but it was not a chopped salad. It was closer to a tossed salad because the lettuce was not chopped as you would expect. No biggie! I just chopped it up myself. The bacon on it was scrumptious and the salmon was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The salad dressing was a creamy vinaigrette and it went perfectly with the dish. I recommend! We shared a Crème Brûlée that was HUGE and delicious as well. I ordered the passion fruit lemon drop drink and it was tasty and strong. The service was prompt and kind. He got all of our orders correct and was highly attentive. I'll definitely be back soon!! Cheers! read more

We arrived with plenty of parking available. We made a reservation, and we showed up 15 minutes early. They seated us right away and we waited for the fourth member of our party. We used the restrooms right away. Not only did they look clean, but they smelled clean too. The server, Francesca took our drink order and then she brought out our drinks. We placed our food order, and we didn't have to wait for long for our food. We all really enjoyed our plates. We were seated next to the window, and it was nice view. We enjoyed the simple style of the restaurant. The fountain out front is lovely. The plates are kind of pricey, but the food is quite good. read more

Ordered through doordash and my food got prepped pretty quickly before the estimated time. I've heard lots of good things about this place and it seemed pretty busy on a weeknight so I was excited to finally try it Crawfish platter: 3.5/5 this was a huge portion of food that's probably good for 2-3 people. Overall did like it but I think I'd probably want to try something else if I come back. I don't really have any specific complaints about this dish, I probably just wasn't in the mood for it as much as I thought I was read more

So, what do you do, on Birthday week when you get the little extra money, we been waiting for?!? Well, it had been a bit since we have been to Pappadeaux, so I thought Lobster Bisque sounds good so let's go get clam chowder or Bisque... Wrong! They only have Gumbo soups now. I am not complaining at all, we chose a separate appetizer. We love the Oven-Baked Crab Cake with Jumbo lump crab, & lemon caper butter it was delicious. Kara was on top of all parts of service. She was attentive but not intrusive in the least. 5***** all the way. So we ordered a ton of food, and enjoyed it with the complimentary French bread & Butter. Dan had: Pappadeaux's Platter with Two fried catfish fillets, [extra] shrimp, oysters, stuffed shrimp, stuffed crab, crawfish. Dan only got through less than half. I ordered Rainbow Trout & Jumbo Crab Blackened trout, shrimp, jumbo lump crab, hazelnut brown butter, with Buttered Heirloom Grits. The pairing worked very well together. There was a slight up charge for the grits, but I am happy. The food was fresh, delicious and well balanced. The garden outside and around Pappadeaux is a relaxing and inviting. They have a water fountain on their front veranda, and it was wonderful to hear the birds in the trees. Windows give a nice view of their gardens. I believe they still may patio seating but I didn't ask about it. The waitress offered dessert and with both of us having had a substantial more food on our plate, we declined... but I admit the banana pudding was calling my name (back for a limited time she said). read more

Came here for lunch with my family and had a pretty good experience. We started with the garlic bread and oysters, both of which were delicious. I ordered the wild-caught grouper -- it was flaky, cooked well, and the seasoning was decent. My partner got the Salmon Alexander, which was also pretty good. My aunt ordered the oven-roasted sea bass, and we all agreed it was the best dish at the table. The fish was incredibly tender and the sauce complemented it perfectly. Just a heads up: it took about 20 minutes for our food to come out, so keep that in mind if you're in a rush. Is it the best seafood I've ever had? Honestly, no but for the price range and for a chain restaurant, I think they do a really solid job. Also, our server Monique was amazing! Great customer service read more

Full of life and good vibes, I'm an unabashed fan of Pappadeaux. Before you even enter the building, the lush vegetation tells you that it is something special. I'm not a fan of chains, but the Pappas brothers know what they are doing. Well-trained staff and attentive service round out a great experience. The menu has lots of options. Albuquerque isn't known for its great seafood restaurants. Having lived in the east and west coasts with access to fabulous fresh seafood my bar is high. But Pappadeaux here in Albuquerque is a consistent go to when the seafood itch hits. Started with a dozen fresh oysters to share and they were excellent. Served with three different sauces, all great. Fresh bread and butter accompanied the meal. Our three main courses were the Blackened Catfish with red beans and rice, the Mississippi Catfish Opelousas served with oysters, shrimp, lump crab meat and dirty rice and the Redfish Ponchartrain served with lump crab and shrimp and dirty rice. Bam Pappadeaux delivers fresh quality seafood meals with that Cajun kiss . read more

The food is always on point, but the front people were horrible!!! That's not the way to be greeted when you are going to spend $150+ on dinner. Jill, the hostess was not friendly, or even remotely helpful, and Laura was even worse!!! She was the one that seated us. No smile, no, "how are you today," nothing. Zero warmth, zero personality. She needs to change that, "I don't want to be here" look on her face. James, our server was awesome. Thank goodness he was the one that we interfaced with the most. Recently went here to celebrate my birthday the customer service was amazing. I had a really nice gentleman as our waiter very attentive. It wasn't very busy inside which was nice and not very common in there. I ordered SEAFOOD TAGLIATELLE PASTA which was amazing. I got their cheesecake for dessert that was delicious as well. I would highly recommend coming here. It's a nice environment with amazing food. read more

I love coming here when I get to this part of the city. A great way to stsrt is with the fried calamari and octopus or oysters. The crawfish platter, with fried crawfish and crawfish etouffe is my favorite meal. The warm bread is delicious and I have to remind myself to stop eating so much of it. Their coffee is wonderful. Our first time here ! Let me say we felt soo welcomed very fancy clean place... our server Jessica was very attentive and super nice ! We started off with gator bites.. now if you've never tried gator "like me" don't let it scare you it was actually pretty delicious! They made sure to be very careful with my friends plate whom is allergic to shrimp I believe it was the manager who came to ask us a few things about the allergy concern and assured us they would take precautions on preparing his dish.. I got the pasta it was sooo flavorful and it was a big serving we ended things off with a free first timers crème brûlée. Oh My Gosh! It was the most richest most delicious one I have tried definitely not disappointed at all with this place!!! give it a try 10/10 worth it ! read more

Ate at Pappadeaux's tonight--they actually have a pretty good selection of gluten-free options. After I ordered, the manager came over to ask if I was gluten-free by preference or due to an allergy. We are chaplains and after visiting our favorite resident from a nursing home that we visit weekly we decided to eat here for our 33 year anniversary. We decided to try the roasted oysters. I am not usually an oyster fan but after talking with the waitress we decided to take the plunge and order them. Oh my goodness, they were amazing. I wish they sold them by the dozen instead of just 6, they were that delicious. Full of flavor, cooked perfectly and so delicious. I ordered the grouper with crab and shrimp. This dish reminded me of being back in Florida. I ate so much Grouper when we visited there. It was nice to see it on the menu. It was flaky but meaty and delicious. The butter sauce added a nice flavor to the grouper. The shrimp were large and flavorful and the crab was moist and very tasty. My husband order the fried seafood platter. It had fried catfish, oysters, crawfish, stuffed shrimp and stuffed crab. They give large portions of fries to go with it all. The fried oysters were out of this world. The crawfish tasted just like shrimp and were very large. read more

Food came out cold. Went here with my fam for a birthday dinner. The food took forever to come out. There were only about 3 servers in the entire restaurant that night, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that it was really swamped . Payed over 300$ for a table of 4. No alcohol. I won't be going back to this chain. The prices are competing w/ Ruth's Chris. And I'd much rather go there if I'm gonna spend my money at a damn chain restaurant. It started with a wait for a table. No problem. Next I get a table. Wait for my waitress and no one showed up. So I asked the hostess to please let our waitress know where here. But that took a while. Finally get a menu. Wait forever for my drink and my daughter's drink. Finally get my order. And my plate was raw. I mean vegetable and fish on my skewers that I ordered. Not happy. A manger gave me a gift card. But at this point no thank you and I gave my card to the couple next to me. Because I am not coming back and getting the same shit that was served to me before. So disappointed in the class and attention you get here. We had our 35 anniversary dinner. We received a free dessert for our first time visiting this location but nothing acknowledging our anniversary. Not a big deal we enjoyed the dessert. Bread was great. Main course was my issue. I ordered the filet Oscar style. First time I have ever had it served with green onions. I'm sure they would have done something if I had complained but I didn't want to complain. When he asked how the food was, my wife said fine I did t look up and he left. The steak was cooked a bit unevenly which is fairly standard. It was good with one issue. One end was fatty. Never had a filet I could not complete at a restaurant. First time for everything. Had to spit out a chunk then tried to surgically free up some meet before giving up in one area. Crab was difficult to find. I had higher expectations which is why I gave three stars. Would have been four at outback. read more

4.5 stars. I've been to Pappadeaux a few times now. Overall, it is a wonderful place to dine...especially if you love New Orleans food...or seafood. A little more upscale in price and environment...but don't need to dress up or anything! The portion size is large in general, so....be prepared to split the dish! The cheesecake, for example...is impossible for one person to eat...especially if one had appetizer and main course already! Overall, a great environment, good food, and a lil more upscale than normal food that I eat on usual days/an everyday basis for sure! read more

I love this restaurant. Have one closer to me than this one but on vacation I have to stop at this one in Albuquerque NM. What a beautiful clean restaurant with this best service and Seafood. Fresh, prepared well. This time while my 3 pound Lobster was most excellent. Our waiter was the most Tip bucking ass I've every seen. Every time he came to our table. He announced exactly what he was going to do for us. One in particular was. Bread crumbs. He said let me do a little house cleaning here. Moved a couple of glasses and proceeded to wipe bread crumbs from the table. Then let me fill your drink, let me take this empty dish on and on. Also while serving a larger table of 6 or 8. He would be the comedian. When he laughed the whole restaurant could hear him. He was a good waiter in that we were well taken care of but he was obnoxious in his let me do this or that and interacting with other customers. He was exceptionally loud. I did tip him well but I would never let this ass wait on me again. The kitchen got my friends steak wrong. No complains on our part just asked for a refire. Next thing we know. The manager comes to our table apologizing. Offered our choice of desserts for the kitchen mistake. We accepted with hessitance knowing we could not eat them there. I would have had the best experience not for the top wrangling waiter letting me know her was going to do this or that for me. As a Chef, well versed in restaurant etiquette. Do your job and do it so well that the customer wants to tip you . Don't bother a diner while trying to enjoy their diner by telling them everything you are doing for them. Do it and do it without interrupting their dinner. Be invisible. Get your job done well without being a nuisance. I spent 189.00 in there just for our meal. Not including his tip. If I have to have him again. I'll leave. I really don't need a play by play from these people. Just do your job quietly and be invisible but available if needed. I truly loved my dinner, very much did not like my waiter. He was obnoxious and hos very loud laugh made me want to leave. Not once did he laugh this way but several times. Get this idiot out of your restaurant. He is a one man floor show who drives you crazy bucking for a good tip. I'd pay just to have him leave us alone. I can assure. That waiter will never wait on me again. read more

Another big disappointment in the Pappadeaux menu changes. First they dropped their (cheesy) grits at lunch time. That was sad enough, but today I found out THEY NO LONGER HAVE THE SAME GATOR BITES. They used to come fried or blackened with remoulade sauce, which we always greatly enjoyed. Now they only have some abomination called Hot Honey gator bites with Tabasco mash, pickles, & peanuts. Why would they do such a thing? Don't mess with what works ! Management, please correct this egregious error! The changes are making us think twice about our regular visits. Thanks for listening, Nancy ( Long time Pappadeaux fan and regular customer) read more

Very nice and quaint restaurant. Prices feel like they're a bit much, but the portions are pretty large - so it evens out. Steve was our waiter. Very on top of his game, kept the water glasses full and table wiped down without feeling like he was hovering, but was there every time we needed him to be The sauce on the Mardi Gras Tilapia is absolutely delicious. Crawfish Bliss with a Service Hiccup - Still Love Pappadeaux" Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen in Albuquerque remains a favorite, and tonight's crawfish platter reminded me why. The crawdad etouffee was rich and flavorful, the deep-fried crawdads were crispy perfection, and the dirty rice on the side tied it all together beautifully. It's the kind of delicious, quality meal I've come to expect here every time. The atmosphere's spot-on too--warm, inviting, and just the right kind of bustling. Service is usually great, but tonight it was off. Our server was noticeably inattentive--slow to check in, forgetting little things--which isn't the norm for this place. It didn't ruin the meal (that crawfish was too good for that), but it was a bummer. Still, one off night won't keep me away--Pappadeaux's a gem worth returning to, especially for that platter. read more

This review is based on one experience for five people for happy hour in the bar area. I have to admit I do love pappadeaux. This was my first time at the Albuquerque location. I love that the footprint of the restaurant and the decor is pretty uniform across the business. So there are only a few booths for five people in the bar area and if you want to get happy hour prices for smaller portions you have to either sit in the few booths that are available or at the bar. The five of us decided to sit at the bar. I was happy to see the menu online for happy hour. The beer selections are limited but I did find something to drink. I got the mini shrimp and grits and it was delicious. One person ordered a main entree. We had a mixed selection of foods and drinks and even desserts. I don't usually take pictures of photos but I had to take a picture of the pecan sweet potato pie which I'm going to try to post. I definitely want to go back and try more items. I have to admit that I was surprised at the price increases on entrees on their menu. I think they used to be more affordable and they've gotten pretty expensive. That is why the happy hour menu is so exciting. read more

ANOTHER Birthday dinner!!!! Lucky me!! We had reservations for 5:30 on Saturday evening and were seated immediately at a table next to the window which I prefer. Reservations were made on the Website and worked well for us. Service was quick and great! Our server was also a Trainer so we were in good hands. I ordered my fave, Cosmo, and it was perfect so I got to enjoy it before dinner. I had wine w my dinner. I ordered the Filet Mignon Oscar (fresh crabmeat on top w sauce) and it came w a baked potato and fresh spinach for about $53. Every bite was delicious. My filet was cooked perfectly at Med-rare. My potato was fully loaded as I'd asked for. My partner ordered the fresh Trout fillet with a sauce and grilled shrimp w fresh green beans almandine which he really enjoyed. Then came my FREE birthday desert to choose from. I was so full by then that I ordered a Creme Brûlée to take home and our waiter made sure I had a candle w it to make a Birthday wish. The Brûlée came w fresh fruit and whipped cream. Yummy! The place was full and very busy. It was well staffed and we had perfect service so they made our dinner very enjoyable. The atmosphere was really good, very attractive, and so enjoyable. Because of the pandemic - it's been a while since I'd been there and now I'm ready to go back more often.
