One of my favorite places to eat. The setting brings in upscale and trendy. It's a nice combo of people who dine & drink here. We love the filet, fingerling potato's and asparagus. The caprese salad is Fantastic! Drinks are just right! Crème brûlée is ok would Be better with more berries. We returned to Vintage after several years, expecting a solid experience, but left disappointed. The beet salad was particularly underwhelming. The portion of beets was minimal, cut into very small pieces, and lacked any noticeable seasoning or marinade. The dish was dominated by large, bitter arugula leaves rather than a balanced mix, with very little cheese and no nuts as expected. The overall flavor was flat, with an odd emphasis on dried fruit that didn't help the dish. The quinoa salad was similarly unbalanced, consisting mostly of plain, unseasoned quinoa with very little else. Adding chicken helped slightly, and it was at least moist, but it had very little flavor. Table service in the bar area appeared stretched thin. We had to flag down our server to clear the table and request the check. After receiving the bill, we waited about 15 minutes before ultimately getting up to find her. The ambiance was very nice, which brings this to 2 stars. If not for that and the clean bathrooms, this would have been a 1-star experience. read more

We came here on Valentine's Day for a friend's birthday and had a large party. The waitress was super nice and informative about their limited menu. The restaurant itself is very cute and the mood lighting is perfect. We got a bottle of Bordeaux and it was definitely a favorite amongst those of us that tried it. The 3 cheese ravioli was definitely the best part of my meal and if I'm ever back in ABQ, would definitely get it again. read more

Ate here on a Saturday night for a belated dinner. We made reservations and arrived a little early and we're seated promptly. We were seated in a big booth which I liked because I like the privacy and space. Interior was tastefully done. Just the right amount of class without over doing it. My girlfriend loved her salmon. My filet mignon was cooked perfectly as med rare and it was very good and seasoned to my liking. The lobster tail a good size and was also on point. I will say our sides were a room temp when we got our plates. Our server did let us know of a delay of getting our plates because they had to redo the lobster tail because didn't come out to the chefs liking (which I do appreciate, because the lobster was so good and wasnt rubbery). The sides were very average. We had creme brulee for dessert and it was ok. I just had Trader Joe's flan the night before and it was really good, so I thought the creme brulee would satisfy my craving. I would go with the TJ flan over this brulee. Overall, it was a nice meal, the main dishes were really good, minus the room temp sides. I will say this, this last time I had steak and lobster together was at Ruth's Chris, I remember that the lobster tail was small and over cook and my steak was good, but could have been better. First time ever visiting this place. My boss was in town so we had lunch here. Walking in the place felt very upscale. It was a nice relaxing vibe. The staff was top notch! They made us feel like royalty. They took care of us from start to finish always checking on us. The menu was very interesting. The first thing that stood out to me was the octopus. Yes you read right, octopus. I was surprised. Being out here in the desert that's a rare find. Then again I don't do much sea food so maybe I haven't seen it around. My boss ended up ordering it for us to try. What an experience. I'd never had it before. It was very chewy but with the seasoning, it was actually better than I'd expected. I ended up going with the Red Bird Chicken plate. Not gonna lie I thought it was a chicken sandwich. Turned out I was a whole dish. I liked how crispy the chicken breading was. The sauce and potatoes were fairly good. The sauce had a creamy flavor. I was hoping for more of an Alfredo but it was ok. I used to love this place. Unfortunately the last time my husband, and I went we were totally ignored for at least 30 minutes before even getting water. Then we couldn't even get silverware. Everyone around us was getting served. The kitchen was super slow. I think we were there a total of two hours just trying to get served and the appetizer and the food were brought out at the same time after at least an hour awaiting . This place has just really gone downhill and it's unfortunate. There were people at the next table that were basically all videoing themselves with cell phones being super disruptive, and nobody has said anything. Ridiculous. Very nice place. Service was good but this was the first time we were there for lunch and I hate to say it was overpriced and not that good. The wedge salad was salty and the Caesar salad was good but I added chicken and it was extremely dry , the green chili stew was a combination of green chili stew and tortilla soup,the beef appetizer was $27 which I don't mind but the beef was spread on butter thin with lots of greens on top so it was like we got a third salad. Hubs and I ended up here randomly while shopping in the area. I was worried about the dress code because there was a sign on the hostess stand saying that dress code was enforced but the staff said we were dressed fine to come in for lunch. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We started by ordering the Calamari which was a tad rubbery usually from overcooking but overall was still very tasty. I ordered the Vintage Club Sandwich with Onion Rings and a side of Ranch. My sandwich was very delicious and hearty - I had to take 1/2 home to enjoy later. My hubby ordered the Fish & Chips with sweet potato fries & a Cole slaw which I did get to try. The fish was super tender and flavorful I just wish that the batter had stayed on but unfortunately it just fell right off - it had a very mushy wet texture. The sweet potato fries were absolutely yummy and crunchy and the Cole slaw had the perfect contrast for the fish. The restaurant was very nice and comfortable and I love the soft lighting. The price for the 2 lunch dishes was very reasonable. The appetizer was a little more expensive. Recently I was invited to attend dinner with friends at this restaurant. Although I had been to places close by, I had never noticed this place. It's on the NE corner of a "strip mall" area. There is nothing that draws your attention to it - besides its name over the doors. I was in for a surprise. As I stepped in through the front doors I felt like I had stepped through a time & elegance warp. It immediately reminded me of the elegant restaurants my Father used to take us to around the country. And this one was in Albuquerque, NM - he would have loved it! So . . . gold metal for ambiance! Service was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. I'll give them points for the fact that it was the middle of the afternoon and we were a large group. Only one server was (available?) to take care of us. She did a good job, but could have used a little assistance. We were so busy talking to each other (and were not in a hurry) that it wasn't probably noticed by anyone but me. Bronze here. Food & wine definitely passed with flying colors. They had one of my favorite wines (Kim Crawford sauvignon blanc, so I was happy. All the meals around the table seemed to be more than satisfactory. I heard comments of "We need to come back here again so I can try the '**' next time. Only have room for one lunch." I will happily come back again and try some of the other great sounding menu items. Of course, I will have more Kim Crawford sb next time. No reason to experiment with great wine. Atmosphere is great! Very classy and nice. Makes you feel like you are in a modern yet vintage restaurant. Food wasn't bad either! The app was okay, but my sandwich was at least fresh. After several days on vacation, I wanted a steak dinner. After going up on the Sandia Peak Tramway earlier, I looked for a local steakhouse in Albuquerque. Vintage 423 was recommended by the Google AI. I noticed a shaded upstairs outdoor bar. I learned it was open Fri-Sun. I sat near the bar. I was hoping to have some wine from New Mexican wineries, but only craft beers were available. I was by Ella on her first day out of training. I got a Vanilla Cherry Old Fashioned. Nice and strong. I added a Shrimp Cocktail. 4 large shrimp served on ice. Perfect. Next was the Baby Beetroot salad with a Smoked 46 cocktail. It was made with Maker Mark's bourbon, Auchuentoshan Three Wood Scotch, sweet vermouth, angostura bitters, luxardo cherry and smoked. A great drink. I opted for the 9oz Filet Mignon with fingerling potatoes and a glass of 2020 Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon. Excellent steak grilled perfectly and a sweet tasting smooth Cabernet. read more

We came to Vintage for lunch today. It had been a while since we had been there. My husband had the chicken sandwich and fries. My son had the pasta carbonara and I had the beef stroganoff. The chicken sandwich tasted fine but the multiple chicken pieces were a bit over fried. It was disappointing that it was not a single chicken breast. The fries were fine. The pasta carbonara tasted fine. The sauce was very thick and rich. My son said he liked it but I don't think he will get it again. I had the beef stroganoff. It was good. The pasta was soft but not mushy. The beef was great. It was tender and flavorful. We also had dessert. My son had the banana pannacotta. It was good but just an average banana pudding. My husband had the apple pie. It was good. I had the Mille fuelle. It was disappointing. It was layers of phyllo with cream and white & dark chocolate according to the menu. There was no dark chocolate and it was very sweet. The service was good, a little slow but friendly. Overall we had a mixed experience with the food and of course it's expensive. The linguine carbonara was really dense and heavy and hard to make it through the plate of it. Saved space for dessert. My dinner partner had surf and turf with a huge lobster tail and a small chunk of steak. The square of cheesy potatoes was overcooked and over spiced. The asparagus was fine. The cocktails were well prepared , but pricy like everything in this place. Dinner for 2 was almost $250, and I did not even have a cocktail, just iced tea. First of all, these people have committed fraud. I signed a receipt in which I purposely left NO TIP because of how embarrassingly horrendous the service was. We were sat at a table on a not very busy Saturday night during balloon fiesta (red flags) and promptly ignored for 20 minutes. I chalk this up to being a group of three women without a man (this place has an UNBELIEVABLY sexist vibe). So, I order a bottle of 45$ Kris Pinot Grigio and the waiter says, if we don't have that can I bring you a Santa Margharita (cringe), it's about the same price point? I say sure. Well, he comes out with the 35$ bottle of Ruffino (as if I wouldn't notice) - he charged us for the 45$ bottle, of course, as well as an appetizer we didn't order (but he never wrote anything down and had a very hard time listening to us because we were women). A dessert my mother didn't ask for was brought out for her birthday. None of the rest of us were given dessert menus. The food was beyond terrible. A 60$ steak that was dry and sad accompanied by potatoes that were barely cooked. But what was most weird and insulting was that the waiter (who was wearing a suit) flitted around ignoring us (he forgot our cocktails for another 15 minutes before the meal after we had waited 20 minutes to order them) while the women who accompanied him and who are clearly being paid less and in a position inferior to him BECAUSE THEY ARE WOMEN, were excellent at their jobs. I didn't hear the comment but the bartender didn't seem to care. We were seated when a table was ready, the place was not busy, and waited.... Waited....... Waited. Waitstaff seemed preoccupied with friends also there at another table. Drinks were never refilled, the food took forever (40 minutes) to come out and the food was undercooked and flavorless. This experience was weirder than the last as our bill reflected items we didn't order and additional drinks we never got. I asked for the manner, who never came, and the waitstaff never came back. What in the absolute hell!!?? Added up the charges for what we did order and paid it with cash. Staff avoided eye contact on the way out. Horrible place that I find shocking to still be in business! People who know the owner say she don't give two cents about the complaints because she is still making money. Way to go girl!! It will catch up to you!! We will NEVER go back!! No more chances! I would love to be expressing a very different review of this restaurant, which has in the past absolutely fulfilled all expectations, however, I cannot, nor will I. This was absolutely an experience that I will never forget, nor will I hesitate to share because the level of egregiousness was so disproportionate to the experience expectations that they have left me no choice. A near EMPTY restaurant, the by far most expensive disgusting food and experience we never should have had to have in an establishment that is so inexcusably arrogant in their proclamations of elevated standards and quality. Their inability to produce a quality meal, or elevated dining experience on a SUNDAY evening when the entire restaurant had a total of 4 ACTIVE tables, is almost incomprehensible... and yet they fell so far BELOW SHORT on multiple levels. The seafood was RAW! They refused to take it off the bill. The Manager Zo was unapologetic, and the GM Chris left and refused to handle the situation in its entirety directing the manager to only reduce the bill by 50% regardless of the multiple issues that ranged from raw, burnt, and absolute below temperature foods that could be harmful to a human's system if ingested below a certain temperature. Needless to say, our party was not treated with respect and or the courtesy of having the management at least give the impression of caring about how many different ways the overall experience failed. Although we tipped our server very well, in spite of, there was also an air of business as usual in her temperament and level of concern, which is concerning, considering we are living in a time where every dollar that is spent is done so with a little more thought as to where those dollars are going. Needless to say, this will not be an establishment that we will ever frequent again for the mere fact that even the most basic menu item at a price of $24 could not be executed successfully, much less the hundred dollar plate that was served cold and raw. Considering this restaurant has been open for several years and it has developed a reputation for the most part of being an upscale and elevated experience of dining. It is unclear as to whether or not they have new management or they just have a lack of concern, but it was absolutely evident, and it will absolutely be taken note of. read more

We were there Christmas Eve, had a reservation at 7PM. There were very few patrons in the place. When we ordered they were out of complementary bread, potatoes, and half the menu. The staff acted like we were a burden and acted as if they just wanted to go home. Mind you they said, when we called, they would be open until 9PM. We could only get a table for 2 at 230pm Mother's Day. Several things went wrong. We called the restaurant and asked if we could get a larger table and have 5 people . They declined. No table available. When we arrived, they sat us at a 4 person booth and right behind us was a very large table that stayed empty the whole time we were there. I don't know why we couldn't have brought more hungry customers, but I am glad that I didn't put my friends through this sickening experience. By the time we got there at 230pm, someone had removed all the lobster pieces from the lobster eggs Benedict except for the crumbs. My husband had to carve his own meat at the carving station because nobody was around. All the buffet food was located up 3 stair steps, which is quite the barrier for Mothers and Grandmothers with mobility issues. Vintage makes us work for our food! I ordered coffee, but the staff member who brought me coffee obviously doesn't drink coffee: she gave me radiator fluid that was brewed yesterday, not fresh at 230 pm and forgot the spoon. But when I heard the meat carver staff member sneeze loudly into his hand, I turned to see him wipe his face with his hand and put that same hand on the carving knife in front of him. He never washed his hands or face before we got up and left. I couldn't eat after seeing that. I'm never going back there. Jeez. Disorganized, untrained and disgusting employees. Ew. read more

Came in last week for a dinner date with my wife. We were probably seated and it took a bit for our waitress to come to the table to start our orders. The service was really slow and felt like we were forgotten more often than not. The food was okay, but nothing I would go back for. The restaurant is nice inside and that's my biggest positive. Appetizer - tried the Vintage Bao Buns. These were okay. Nothing amazing. The meat was a bit dry and it made it way chewier than it should have been. I had the Scottish Salmon with Teriyaki sauce and my wife had the Ribeye Steak. Now the salmon was good but there is way better in town (Pappadeaux) where you get more salmon for your money. The steak was okay, but really missed not having salt at the table. With how inattentive the waitress was we never got a chance to ask for it. The sweet mashed potatoes were a bit of a disappointment. We split a dessert and I don't even remember what it was it really didn't stand out. We came here for lunch on a Monday afternoon and sat at one of the tables in the bar. Our server greeted us immediately with water and a friendly smile. I have to say that the service has been on point every time I have been here. I attended a work function that was bustling shoulder to shoulder and I also received great service. This time given that it was on a Monday afternoon the place was a little more on the quiet side. Tyler served us this evening and treated us like good - every step of the way. We asked and were moved up to the "red room," which is a cozy round booth. It made it easy for the 5 in our group to converse, share bites from our meals, and be a little louder then the rest of the place. The risotto was insanely delish. It was a combo of green chile and asparagus. Yum. It paired with everything we ordered from short ribs, to sea bass, to crab salad. Vintage 423 is named after Paseo Del Norte, Highway 423. It stands near Paseo and Wyoming. My wife and I passed by this establishment many times over the years on the way to my parent's house. We finally decided to stop there on the afternoon of Sunday, December 5, 2021. Let me just start by saying the view from the upper deck balcony of the Sandias at sunset is a great one! We had a reservation and were seated immediately on the balcony. Amber S. worked the bar and doubled as our waitress when we sat at a table against the railing, facing the Sandias. She took our order quickly. My wife wanted Calamari and I also ordered a bowl of the lobster bisque. We paired this with an amazing bottle of Argentina Malbec, a 2019 Trapiche Broquel. Amber told us this was her favorite Malbec. I later tried to find this at Total Wine, but it isn't stocked in New Mexico. The calamari had a nice, light, crispy batter and were covered with cheese. They gave us two dipping sauces: a standard (and boring) Marinara sauce and a spicey guacamole, which we both loved. My lobster bisque had big chunks of lobster and paired nicely with our wine. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset from the balcony. Once the sun went down it got windy and cold. Amber lowered the hurricane curtains and turned on one of the four upstairs fire pits for us. See attached picture. She offered us great service the entire night. This restaurant has a great location, service and food. It is pricy, however, since we paid $73.35 for our appetizer ($18), bisque ($12) and bottle of wine ($38). Went in last night and had the best service. My bartender was dressed as the joker and was so entertaining. Jess was attentive and gave great customer service. The entire staff was nice and the vibe was fun. Great way to spend my Halloween. read more
