    The Pelican 3/25/26

We were looking for a place to celebrate a birthday. We checked Google and it offered The Pelican as a possibility. We are so happy we selected it. They sat us at a table for six. They offered us drinks, brought bread and took our appetizer order immediately. Jackie was our server. She was a true delight. We loved her. The dinner was a delight to eat. We all order soup or salad and our main courses were different. Everyone agreed their food was warm and tasted great. The place has nice lighting, soft playing music and a great decor. Free parking right out front. Mid to high prices but well worth it. Try this place.

I have to be honest the food was outstanding. We weren't dressed very formal. My daughter and I wanted to just have dinner in honor of my deceased father on his birthday. We were sat near the oyster bar, but we were not attended to until we had to ask for someone to please take our order. before we left another couple sat near us and were served instantly. a little concerning we weren't deemed worthy This is very important to me: service. As we were sitting at the bar in terms of health and safety we saw some things ---- but overall our food was delicious. I have to say I definitely will return but expect to be treated as you're dressed. The hostess was really nice.

The service was great and everyone was attentive. They took a reservation when we called same night. My Pina colada was made just right and everyone at the table enjoyed their adult beverages as well. No complaints on the food. I hadn't been here in years and wondered why after this visit. We will return!

The oysters are always so fresh tasting and can never go wrong with their steaks! Our server (Armijo) was attentive and friendly. This place is good for a casual meal or a special occasion.

Absolutely hate that I couldn't five star this place because I really, really wanted to love it! First time at Pelicans West on Coors I'm not sure what compelled us to dine on a Friday night however the staff and service were awesome. There was about a 25 minute wait around 6 PM however we opted to sit at the oyster bar and chef's kitchen counter, with full view of the entire cooking line. Zero wait there! I think that may have been my favorite part of the experience. The team was amazing, and each person had their station down packed! I didn't see any food sent back and they truly have a really awesome kitchen staff. Unfortunately, I wasn't wowed by the food, specifically because of the price. We don't mind spending money for fine dining however I have an expectation when you are paying a premium. My husband got steak and lobster and it was around $90 for his plate. He wanted asparagus instead of a mixed veggie, which was also an additional charge. The salad dressing was amazing! I really liked the salad bowl, which is unlimited, but there was no way we were asking for a refill because it was plenty full. They also served bread with whipped butter and roasted garlic and I was a huge fan of that! Our shrimp cocktail starter was amazing as well. It was fresh and reasonably priced, in order of four was around $16. So that's pretty consistent with the higher end Steakhouse. I'm not sure that we've ever had Australian lobster just what they were serving. It was not it all fishy and it was prepared to perfection, but I wasn't truly a fan of the taste. Lobster tails that we've eaten in the past typically have a subtley sweet flavor and this one did not. Perhaps it's the way it's prepared however, this was just kinda plan. It was served with drawn better, but we hate dousing in additional sauces. Finally, we got mud pie and we're very impressed with their dessert! That was made in house and was truly tasty! Another thing that I wasn't a fan of was that the server left all of the dishes on the counter, so everything was super crowded. I'm not sure why it wasn't cleared after our appetizer course and then after the salad course, however it never was. Perhaps it's a thing to leave the salad there since there's free refills but wasn't a fan of that. So five stars for the experience and the kitchen team, the restaurant was clean so five stars for that as well... I just wasn't super impressed with the seasoning on the steak and lobster or lack of clearing when main was served.

ALWAYS AMAZING! Keep doing what you're doing. No complaints whatsoever. Do miss some of the old menu items like cedar plank salmon and the way the salad in the bowls used to be served but you guys are top notch. Watching kitchen, wait and bartender staff is like seeing a well oiled machine. Food is great, happy hour specials are wonderful. For martini happy hour it would be so nice to have cold glasses when martinis are poured.

Went to Pelicans for the first time. We were pleasantly suprised. The food was delicious and the service was great. It was a busy night, but we made reservations. We started out with the sizzling mussels which I could have just had as my meal and been satisfied. They were so delicious. I ordered the Sea bass and baked potato with the clam chowder. My husband ordered the steak and lobster with the salad. The salad was pretty hearty with all kinds of veggies, and my clam chowder was full of clams and potatoes. The bread they gave us was also super delicious. The sea bass was a large portion and ended up coming home with me because I was so full after the mussels and soup. The steak was cooked perfectly and the lobster was melt in your mouth delicious. We definitely will be back and order smaller portions.

The good. The bread and roasted garlic cloves is delicious. The salad was generous and dressings fresh and flavorful. The bad. The oysters were good but very small and expensive. I know we live in the desert but that doesn't change the fact that they were not worth it. I ordered the Chilean sea bass. It was OK. Slightly undercooked. Not a great sear. My son ordered the same and his was cooked properly. The seared tuna appetizer was slightly overcooked. It was tasty and was large portion. Overall it was just not worth the money. $38 for the sea bass that was not cooked perfectly and while it tasted good it wasn't great. The service was very good. Especially considering that they were very busy. I will be looking for alternatives rather than going back here.

Unfortunately, they didn't ask us if we had a special occasion we were celebrating, but overall the service was great. The ambiance was pretty nice and there is a back patio that has a few tables. They have a large array of oysters from the east coast and west coast. The oysters and the way they served and prepared were good. They do have raw clams also which I thought strange, but I'm probably just not fancy enough. We ordered a few appetizers including green chili hush puppies which seemed to need a little more Smokey green chili flavor and they were a bit dry. The lobster deviled eggs are sort of tart and flavorless and I didn't get any lobster on mine. My friend said the lobster rolls were good, and I had a salmon special that was out of this world delicious and cooked to perfection!! The red curry mussels were also outstanding!! Could use a bit more spice and salt, but really good. One of the kiddos didn't want raw food, but he also couldn't find much on the menu for kids. They were out of what he ordered and when they finally did get his order, his food came out about 15 minutes after the rest of the table. They did comp out appetizers so that was nice, but in my opinion they should have comped his meal since they didn't have what he wanted and then served him so much later. Their alcoholic fancy beverages were great. I had a glass of wine that was good. I would suggest offering more wines and meals from the adjacent wine bar and restaurant to Lure as well. They have a few kinks to work out, but I think they are on the right track. There is no phone so it's very difficult to make a reservation. I recommend visiting this place and trying some of their food during off hours. I'm not sure I'd recommend their appetizers yet, but with a few tweaks they will improve. Cheers!

Food: Appetizers: We got a variety including duck confit egg rolls, encrusted brie, fried asparagus, mussels, rattlesnake sausages and sopaipillas. The encrusted brie was a crowd favorite (who doesn't love fried cheese?) but I thought the addition of bread was unnecessary when the brie provided its own crispy texture. The mussels were good but a little spicy so beware! The sopaipilla was my least favorite dish. They served bite sized sopaipillas with cheese on top. A delicious idea but the sopaipilla was chewy and flat rather than fluffy. All entrees come with the option of a soup or salad. French Onion Soup: This was my side of choice and it was super salty. Norwegian Salmon: The salmon was perfectly cooked. It was flaky and moist but had crispy skin. The saffron tomato risotto that came with it was undercooked. The Farm: This comes with duck leg confit, lamb chop, and rotating protein (elk for our meal). Each meat was perfectly cooked. The duck meat fell off the bone easily and was succulent. The lamb chop and elk were tender and not overcooked. The green chile risotto that came with it was quite spicy! However, it does seem variable as others had the same side but it was less spicy. Lemon Leche Cake: True to its name, it was very lemony while keeping the tres leche cake flavor. It was quite cold. Service: 4 Our servers were very patient with our large group and did not make any mistakes with our orders. Ambiance: 4 Seared is a small restaurant with a southwest theme. Review for D.H. Lescombes Winery & Bistro…read more We came here to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary and overall had a great experience. We were seated immediately and the service was phenomenal from start to finish. We started with the meatball appetizer with pesto sauce. While it tasted good, the meatballs seemed like frozen/pre-made rather than scratch-made, which was a little disappointing considering the price point. That said, we were brought bread and butter beforehand which was a nice touch. For entrées, my husband ordered the New Mexico pasta and he enjoyed it. I ordered the ribeye with a loaded baked potato and a salad with bleu cheese vinaigrette. My steak was initially overcooked, but they handled it perfectly -- they boxed up the original steak to take home AND cooked me a brand new one to medium rare (absolute perfection). That level of service really stood out. The wine tasting was phenomenal -- we tried a sweet rosé that was absolutely delicious (I wish I remembered the name!). We also ordered dessert and tried the chocolate torte, which was just okay -- not bad, but nothing memorable. Our server went above and beyond, checking on us frequently and even discounting our ticket for our anniversary, which made the night feel extra special. The ambiance inside was quiet, romantic, and business-casual, with beautiful warm décor. The restaurant was very clean and well kept. We would definitely return and recommend this spot for date nights, anniversaries, and wine lovers. Great service, solid food, and an inviting atmosphere.
