    The Pelican 3/25/26

We were looking for a place to celebrate a birthday. We checked Google and it offered The Pelican as a possibility. We are so happy we selected it. They sat us at a table for six. They offered us drinks, brought bread and took our appetizer order immediately. Jackie was our server. She was a true delight. We loved her. The dinner was a delight to eat. We all order soup or salad and our main courses were different. Everyone agreed their food was warm and tasted great. The place has nice lighting, soft playing music and a great decor. Free parking right out front. Mid to high prices but well worth it. Try this place.

I have to be honest the food was outstanding. We weren't dressed very formal. My daughter and I wanted to just have dinner in honor of my deceased father on his birthday. We were sat near the oyster bar, but we were not attended to until we had to ask for someone to please take our order. before we left another couple sat near us and were served instantly. a little concerning we weren't deemed worthy This is very important to me: service. As we were sitting at the bar in terms of health and safety we saw some things ---- but overall our food was delicious. I have to say I definitely will return but expect to be treated as you're dressed. The hostess was really nice.

The service was great and everyone was attentive. They took a reservation when we called same night. My Pina colada was made just right and everyone at the table enjoyed their adult beverages as well. No complaints on the food. I hadn't been here in years and wondered why after this visit. We will return!

The oysters are always so fresh tasting and can never go wrong with their steaks! Our server (Armijo) was attentive and friendly. This place is good for a casual meal or a special occasion.

Absolutely hate that I couldn't five star this place because I really, really wanted to love it! First time at Pelicans West on Coors I'm not sure what compelled us to dine on a Friday night however the staff and service were awesome. There was about a 25 minute wait around 6 PM however we opted to sit at the oyster bar and chef's kitchen counter, with full view of the entire cooking line. Zero wait there! I think that may have been my favorite part of the experience. The team was amazing, and each person had their station down packed! I didn't see any food sent back and they truly have a really awesome kitchen staff. Unfortunately, I wasn't wowed by the food, specifically because of the price. We don't mind spending money for fine dining however I have an expectation when you are paying a premium. My husband got steak and lobster and it was around $90 for his plate. He wanted asparagus instead of a mixed veggie, which was also an additional charge. The salad dressing was amazing! I really liked the salad bowl, which is unlimited, but there was no way we were asking for a refill because it was plenty full. They also served bread with whipped butter and roasted garlic and I was a huge fan of that! Our shrimp cocktail starter was amazing as well. It was fresh and reasonably priced, in order of four was around $16. So that's pretty consistent with the higher end Steakhouse. I'm not sure that we've ever had Australian lobster just what they were serving. It was not it all fishy and it was prepared to perfection, but I wasn't truly a fan of the taste. Lobster tails that we've eaten in the past typically have a subtley sweet flavor and this one did not. Perhaps it's the way it's prepared however, this was just kinda plan. It was served with drawn better, but we hate dousing in additional sauces. Finally, we got mud pie and we're very impressed with their dessert! That was made in house and was truly tasty! Another thing that I wasn't a fan of was that the server left all of the dishes on the counter, so everything was super crowded. I'm not sure why it wasn't cleared after our appetizer course and then after the salad course, however it never was. Perhaps it's a thing to leave the salad there since there's free refills but wasn't a fan of that. So five stars for the experience and the kitchen team, the restaurant was clean so five stars for that as well... I just wasn't super impressed with the seasoning on the steak and lobster or lack of clearing when main was served.

ALWAYS AMAZING! Keep doing what you're doing. No complaints whatsoever. Do miss some of the old menu items like cedar plank salmon and the way the salad in the bowls used to be served but you guys are top notch. Watching kitchen, wait and bartender staff is like seeing a well oiled machine. Food is great, happy hour specials are wonderful. For martini happy hour it would be so nice to have cold glasses when martinis are poured.

Went to Pelicans for the first time. We were pleasantly suprised. The food was delicious and the service was great. It was a busy night, but we made reservations. We started out with the sizzling mussels which I could have just had as my meal and been satisfied. They were so delicious. I ordered the Sea bass and baked potato with the clam chowder. My husband ordered the steak and lobster with the salad. The salad was pretty hearty with all kinds of veggies, and my clam chowder was full of clams and potatoes. The bread they gave us was also super delicious. The sea bass was a large portion and ended up coming home with me because I was so full after the mussels and soup. The steak was cooked perfectly and the lobster was melt in your mouth delicious. We definitely will be back and order smaller portions.

    Chilean Sea Bass

The good. The bread and roasted garlic cloves is delicious. The salad was generous and dressings fresh and flavorful. The bad. The oysters were good but very small and expensive. I know we live in the desert but that doesn't change the fact that they were not worth it. I ordered the Chilean sea bass. It was OK. Slightly undercooked. Not a great sear. My son ordered the same and his was cooked properly. The seared tuna appetizer was slightly overcooked. It was tasty and was large portion. Overall it was just not worth the money. $38 for the sea bass that was not cooked perfectly and while it tasted good it wasn't great. The service was very good. Especially considering that they were very busy. I will be looking for alternatives rather than going back here.

Food: Appetizers: We got a variety including duck confit egg rolls, encrusted brie, fried asparagus, mussels, rattlesnake sausages and sopaipillas. The encrusted brie was a crowd favorite (who doesn't love fried cheese?) but I thought the addition of bread was unnecessary when the brie provided its own crispy texture. The mussels were good but a little spicy so beware! The sopaipilla was my least favorite dish. They served bite sized sopaipillas with cheese on top. A delicious idea but the sopaipilla was chewy and flat rather than fluffy. All entrees come with the option of a soup or salad. French Onion Soup: This was my side of choice and it was super salty. Norwegian Salmon: The salmon was perfectly cooked. It was flaky and moist but had crispy skin. The saffron tomato risotto that came with it was undercooked. The Farm: This comes with duck leg confit, lamb chop, and rotating protein (elk for our meal). Each meat was perfectly cooked. The duck meat fell off the bone easily and was succulent. The lamb chop and elk were tender and not overcooked. The green chile risotto that came with it was quite spicy! However, it does seem variable as others had the same side but it was less spicy. Lemon Leche Cake: True to its name, it was very lemony while keeping the tres leche cake flavor. It was quite cold. Service: 4 Our servers were very patient with our large group and did not make any mistakes with our orders. Ambiance: 4 Seared is a small restaurant with a southwest theme. We went with the Korean Chicken bites, the Margarita Flatbread, & the green chilli cheeseburger. The Chicken bites were terrible. Taste wasn't great at all, they were very very fried, but not in a good way. I love some good crunchy fried chicken but these just were not it! The flavor, the texture, none of it was right. The Margarita Flatbread was med. Taste was pretty good, but it was soggy and didn't hold up well at all. That said it was the best of the 3 things we did get. Unfortunately, that's not saying much..... The burger was okay also. Not bad by any means, but nothing special at all either....considering there's a burger place next door I thought the burger would be able to compete with the neighbor, but trust me if you want a burger, go next door! They don't put sauce on it at all, no nothing. Just straight up patty, cheese and bun. Only my 6 year old cousin eats like that.....I did add some mayo and ketchup, which helped, but still not a great burger.... The bun didn't add much for us either, even though it was baked in house with green chilli....A simple brioche would be better imo... The fries with the burger were actually the best single item of the experience. Their fries are really good! So good that I was going to eat every single one of them but instead my waiter just came and took my plate before I had finished the last 10 or so. No are you finished yet, or anything, just grabbed it, turned and left. I was so shocked I didn't even have time to say I'm not done with that. He left the crummy chicken bites we weren't eating though..... LOL Seriously don't touch my plate unless it's empty, or you ask first! Since it was a small amount I let it slide and didn't reduce his tip because the rest of the service was actually pretty good overall..... I definitely 100% will not be back here though, there's much better food in the area.

Drinks are dive bar classics Cape Cod on a menu, Sutter Home and Cavit. LIIT, lmeon drop, tequila sunrise, what are we 12 now. I actually like a bohemia, shiner, guiness (not on tap) with my dinner. Their early week special is a 14oz boneless strip which is beefy and juicy, don't over cook this as it will toughen up. Their late week prime rib is thick, tender and wall to wall pink. They do have horseradish if you ask. Their ribeyes are on the smaller side, but very good quality. They have their own butcher and not a chef who does the butchery. The baked potat is generous sized and well accompanied. Prices are decent, quality is good and portions are excellent. Feels more midwest than southwest in vibe, but the Greek immigrant influence is interesting as I'm curious how Bakalava and dolmas and a shish kabob might taste. The Ham & cheese and grilled cheese just seem out of place, but not more than seeing Milk on the menu.....with sizes offered. My ideal meal here is the late week speciall prime rib, with fried shimp and chopped green chilis. Fried mozzarella sticks and a shrimp cocktail to start. They let you order cold center which is how I like my porterhouse and ribeyes. The salads don't come with tomatoes, but their burgers do, weird.
