Recommend you try the "dinner for two." It is not on the menu, so ask the waitstaff the options and cost to see if it is a good choice for you. We order from it because we can get the appetizer with fried mushrooms and zucchini including a crisp salad or soup with wonderful fresh bread and condiments of grilled garlic & butter. I normally get the ribeye which is seasoned to perfection. Who knew they are steak grill masters, most think they only do seafood! The service is excellent and they top off the dinner for two with a dessert. We upgrade it for $1 to get the cheese cake. They have a nice patio with water feature & fireplace for those who want to eat outside. Also a nice aquarium inside for fish lovers and children who enjoy watching fish swim. I was craving prime rib, so i called ahead made sure they had it. For a Saturday night around 7pm it wasnt too busy. I sat at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and attentive. My bread came out soon after my drinks brwad with butter and roasted garlic it was so good I devoured every crumb and then my salad came out. I hadn't even started on the salad when the prime rib came out. I hate to say it but there service was too fast but im not taking a star away for that...so I skipped the salad and started eating the prime rib. It was cooked perfectly medium rare and juicy. Still 5 stars, and everything in my previous review still stands, but there is something new. We visited today, Sunday, 6/20/29, and Pelican's has added a brunch menu. Our prime rib lover stayed with that, but two of us had the omelet and the blueberry pancakes. They came with a fresh baked biscuit and butter to start, along with a lovely bowl of fresh fruit (orange, melon, strawberries, pineapple.) The omelet was large, tasty and came with bacon. The blueberry pancakes were huge, fluffy perfection that almost didn't need the butter and syrup. They also came with bacon. Service was great as always, and the young lady made sure no glass was ever empty. Pelican's, if you read this, I have a suggestion: You need to update your menu on Yelp. What is there is so minimal that people may not realize how many choices there are. I didn't notice, but if you still have the seniors' and kids' menus, you really should put them out there, along with the brunch menu. read more

Used to go to pelicans east every week, and took several friends and family there, one of my favorite places to eat. Went to the Westside one today to order the same thing I always order which is dinner for two priced @ $40 which is a good deal. Was informed by them that they do not do it for $40 at either location anymore, and it's $60 at both now. So to clear the air called and confirmed with the East location that they still do dinner for two for $40. I get that it's almost Valentine's Day and all steakhouses raise their prices, but come on people we got a week until Valentine's Day, don't try to scalp me on prices early! This is the *other* Pelican's. It's located in a strip-mall-y part of Coors, and I frankly like the other location's ambiance more. That being said, Pelican's is still pretty awesome. I love the shrimp Pelican. It's delicious, and it's what I order here every time. Also, I like their bar area, and the fact that you can eat in it is even better. Good TVs for watching sports, too. Please tell me how you don't order a giant stack of burgers heading into a weekend? 3 ppl at our table had to adjust our desires (ok, not the end of the world- yet). -Yes we were a table of 12, but is it not possible to drop a pitcher of water on the table if you are going to neglect our beverage refills for 5-10min at a pop? Server was friendly, but decidedly inept (never had this prob at the NE location!) -Ordered a charred Rib-Eye.....which arrived after an interminable length of time. Just curious, does anyone else expect blood to pour out when you slice into a medium WELL steak? Perhaps I was at fault for failing to specify "no pink," but geez louise! Really? at this point everyone was half done with their meal, so I simply told the server to just charge me for the fries but take off the steak. Went to the Supper Truck and grabbed a burrito. I could continue down this path of negativity, but if you dare, I truly hope you have a better experience than we did, as this was only a smattering of the issues we faced at this location. This was our first time to eat here for dinner after reading some of the reviews. Everything was good except the prime rib was not warm enough. The cedar plank salmon had good flavor but was a little too dry, so the sauce served with it helped. The baked potatoes and wild rice pilaf were really tasty. Ordered appetizer, took one hour for fried mushrooms. Other people came in, obvious friends of staff. Their food arrived within 15 minutes. Our app got brought out and bartender says "those worth the wait?!" My husband says "not really, not worth 1 hour wait". Bartender says "take it up with Chad". Bartender says I will get your salad. We ask to speak to Chad. She says "yeah right". We say "no we are serious." She goes in back for 10 minutes and comes out with salad. I say we will pay for what we ate, comes back with $21 bill. If you love scallops, try the bacon wrapped scallops. You will not be disappointed! I had had just a month at work...that's right a month. Came home and the fiance was there waiting and asked what I wanted for dinner. I said I want some place that I can get a drink (cocktail) and then a beer. Good service should be acknowledged and hopefully rewarded. Now, on to the food. We started with artichoke and it was cooked nicely. Excellent light flavor. I ordered the Shrimp Scampi and the man had Bacon-Wrapped Scallops. I'm not a big scallops fan but I would definitely order these bad boys, again. Shrimp Scampi was a healthy portion and the sauce didn't overpower the pasta. I don't care when there is a ridiculous amount of sauce that you can't taste the protein or pasta. I also had a salad that was crisp, cold, and flavorful. Now, to the scallops. there is not much to say other than - DELICIOUS! We came here for our 20th wedding anniversary because we were craving some seafood. The place was clean and the patio looked great if it wasn't so hot and humid. The place was not very busy, but it was a Wednesday. They had a martini special so of course I ordered a dirty martini and it was pretty good. For an appetizer we had the mozzarella sticks they were pretty big compared to other places. FYI they have early bed specials from 5 to 6, that is the menu we ordered from. I had Pelican shrimp with the bottomless salad and sweet potato fries. I was not impressed with the shrimp because they were overcooked. The salad and the house dressing was awesome. I would definitely go back for the salad. My biggest issue was our server, she never checked on us and no tea refills... We had to stop another server and ask for a refill. read more

Been wanting to try this place for a while. I was on my way to Panera and decided to go here instead. I was expecting red lobster type atmosphere and prices. It's nothing like red lobster. Two of us shared a fish and chips and mozzarella sticks and rolled out of there. Portions are pretty large. Split meals cost 4 bucks but with that 4 bucks you get another salad/soup and another side. Good deal! The mozzarella sticks are really big and probably the best ones I've had. The fish was acceptable. Nothing more. I live in San Francisco so my opinion here may be a little more stringent than this place's normal patrons though. The atmosphere was somewhat dirty, particularly the bathrooms. But we waited an hour and 30 minutes past our reservation for seating and we weren't alone on Saturday night. Reservations for many groups were lost or hugely delayed. Most people were calm and pretty patient with the situation. The only group accommodated quickly was the rude group that pitched a huge fit. The manager was leaving his employees to handle the mess. I have been patronizing The Pelican resturants for many years. I love the roasted garlic served with fresh fluffy bread and the crisp salad served with fresh whole scallions. Roasted garlic and scallions are a couple of my favorite things to eat. But it is the almond crusted trout that really keeps me coming back. Being a Nordic from the Great Lakes region, I love fish! The most disappointing dining experience I've ever had. We ordered some drinks and a dozen oysters. Really bad life choice. The oysters were the most disgusting things I've ever seen...or smelled. They had a most repugnant fragrance and taste. My husband and I are not confrontational folks so we didn't say anything. We "pretended" to eat them, paid the check then left. This was definately not a place we'll be returning! The market prices for their seafood are much higher then what the market prices actually are. The portion sizes are very small. My husband ordered steak and crablegs. At $45 a plate I think its safe to say I was beyond shocked when his food came out and it was 1 leg and a small steak. He said his steak was good but not worth the money. The salad was disquisting! It was very dry and would have taken a tub of dressing to hide the dryness. The best part of this meal...and the ONLY reason I'm giving it 2 stars is the value and quality of the kids meals. The entire waiting area is packed and my order isn't ready so I try to find somewhere to wait out of the way but socially distanced. Pelicans is always a good choice for a nice quiet dinner. We celebrated our friends wedding anniversary on a busy Friday night. It wasn't noisy at all and our server was excellent. Although the food prices have gone up a little (including the early bird specials); the quality and quantity is perfect. We started with 2 appetizers. The grilled artichoke was perfectly done and very tasty! And the breaded zucchini never disappoints. We all had seafood dishes. The bottomless salad and bread is always very fresh. Bread without plates Drinks delivered extremely late, had to make a number of request Refills showed up after talking to the manager 3 attempts at getting the prime rib order correct Manager stated desserts was on him for the table, what was offered at the end of the meal was 2 desserts. My husband and I have been here a number of times in the past and enjoyed the good food and service. Last night however, made me want to never return. The service was ok, about par for the course. The food, was disgusting. Now not all of the food was terrible. To start we had the customary bread, butter and garlic. Which is pretty hard to mess up and it was fine. Even normal. Next I ordered the salad and my husband the clam chowder. both good and normal. Now for our main course we both ordered the fish and chips. He had a baked potato in place of the fries and I had the fries. His fish was fine and he liked it, the problem came with the 'tarter sauce' which was NOT and I repeat NOT tarter sauce, it was ranch dressing with pickle juice mixed with it which was absolutely disgusting, we even though there was no way this was their tarter sauce. We'd had it before and it was great, so we asked the waitress to bring some tarter sauce because we got something else by mistake. Nope, another little bowl of ranch with pickle juice mixed with it. So moving on, like I said my husbands fish was good he enjoyed it. I couldn't even eat more than a couple bites of mine. It was soggy and rubbery. It was like they just said the heck with it and put fish that'd been sitting under a heat lamp out for a customer. I even had my husband try my fish and he said it tasted nothing like his, which kind of raised an eyebrow for me since we ordered the same thing. On the way home I started feeling sick to my stomach and ended up being up all night sick. Like I said before in my review, we;d been here before and had good food and service. Now you can see where they've cut corners. Didn't see my sunglass case fall out of my purse, but an eagle-eyed waitress spotted it for me. We utilized coupon(s) you can get from those Premium magazines you get in the mail or online. The deal was an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert for a little over $52.00. There was six of us, so we used three coupons for our one table. Most restaurants would try to limit you, but they didn't here. (Not sure if that's their policy or not. One of my dining companions said she had to get separate checks when she used two coupons on an different visit.) So we had fried zucchini and mushrooms for the appetizers - all excellent. They also provide warm bread with butter and roasted garlic. A few of us had the clam chowder cup, but most of us had the salad to start off with. I did not order seafood at this time. I opted for the prime rib with the side of roasted vegetables. Others chose the "loaded baked potato" for their side. We all agreed that our meals were delicious. I had plenty of leftovers and we had to take our dessert, a HUGE slice of mud pie, to go. I also had a Mai Tai cocktail which was tasty. Service was a little slow. We had an hour and a later appointment, so we were sort of in a hurry, we were late. I believe she did her best, but we were out on the patio.
