Well let me say that just because of my bad rating, we will visit Turtle Mountain again, but not for a while. My wish fe and I were excited to ear lunch yesterday Thursday, July 9, 2026 and had our first bad experience. I ordered a Hatch Burger and my wife ordered a Chicken cobb salad. The burger was warm and the fries were cold. My wife's salad had four pieces of chicken as best and the lettuce and veggies weren't fresh. The waitress (Xandria) was awesome though. She took matters into her own hands and had the manage cut our ticket 50%. That was fine, but it is clear that management has changed a few things that just aren't working. The main reason for my three stars is to ensure that something is done about how food quality has suffered! We don't want TMB going down! read more

I usually like supporting local breweries, but our recent visit to Turtle Mountain Brewing - North was a complete disaster. We came in with a party of 13. While we understood they couldn't fit us all at one long table, we offered a logical compromise: seat us at two separate tables right next to each other. We were told no because the adjacent tables were in different sections. Instead of working together to figure out a simple solution, the hostesses treated us like an inconvenience and handled the situation with an incredibly bad attitude. When we asked to speak to a manager, we expected someone to help facilitate a solution, but the manager Jesus, was just as dismissive and unbothered. Unfriendly service and rigid policies that prioritize arbitrary section lines over basic hospitality will drive customers away. Extremely disappointing. read more

Christmas tree search was complete! Decided to drive in for lunch. We ordered pizza and salad. Our friends shared nachos. Different sports on tvs around bar. We were greeted and given menus and water, asked if we wanted to try anything on tap. Tried the Tortuga Tea, it was refreshing but went w the Mexican Dark Lager and the MIL had a Stout. Shared the plate of wings (came quick, could have been a bit more crispy) & calamari strips (good flavor & meaty) and a burger (did have to ask for extra plate since we were splitting but it came quick. Sweet potato fries do have a bit of sugar on them so careful if watching sugar intake but they were good. Servers were attentive and nice. We came in as a large group of 30 shortly after they opened. The place was largely empty and we were told they wouldn't accommodate us inside. They had an empty banquet room but refused to seat us there either. The only option for a large group of Mexicans who wanted to spend money at their establishment was outside in 90 degree weather and with children. We were told they were under staffed to accommodate us inside but for some strange reason they weren't understaffed to seat us outside. I would highly recommend not giving this place the time of day or spending your money at a place that thinks they are doing you a favor by serving you. I spent one night in the dingy Motel 6 just off I-25 in Bernalillo on my way back to Denver on a road trip to the Tucson area, and decided to have one beer in each of the three close-by breweries, Kaktus, Bosque, and Turtle Mountain. I liked the way Turtle Mountain's interior is laid out, with a big beer menu board you can read from across the restaurant. I was a little hungry and rather surprised that they had haddock rather than cod fish and chips (it's almost always cod in Denver, and I'm allergic to it) and you could order one, two or three fillets, so I got one and upgraded the fries to fingerling potatoes. A very tasty meal that I washed down with their very high IBU IPA. My waiter was prompt and courteous, but I was disappointed when he told me that they were out of all their t-shirts larger than medium, which the other two breweries had already told me! So, I got skunked on Albuquerque brewery merch except for a Bosque hat. I guess I'll have to take another road trip and try again. read more

After spending the morning in Jemez Springs, we arrived in Rio Rancho at lunchtime. We chose to eat at the Turtle Mountain Brewing Company. My wife had the patty melt with sweet potato waffle fries and I had the Dubliner (French dip with onions and mushrooms) and regular French fries. Everything was great. My wife and I moved to the area a few months ago and have been here five or six times already. They have a great menu with a lot of options. The food has always been fresh and well prepared and the service has always been great. Beer selection and full bar options are also fantastic. This was my first time here. A friend had recommended this place to me. She said that it was much bigger than the one located on Southern Blvd. Which to be honest is always packed but closer to where I live. So I decided to drive up this way and try this location out. It's located in the Enchanted Hills area, in a mini mall area. Lots of parking around in the parking lot. Another plus. We were greeted by friendly staff members and the place was pretty large. We were seated in the back area by the stage that they had there. Maybe they have bands that play there, but I'm not sure since this was my first time here. The waiter was nice and friendly with us. He gave us some time to think about what we wanted to order. The menu offers a wide variety of bar favorites and pizza too. They all looked appetizing. My friend who suggested this place told me to try the Monte Cristo sandwich. That's what I ordered. My husband ordered some beer and one order of fish and chips. We also started off with some fried pickles, which were cut longways and not the usual chips sized coins that most places serve. They were delicious. When the food arrived at the table, I didn't expect my Monte Cristo to be a big portion. It was a lot of food for me to eat. I had to share. The fish and chips were either one, two or three pieces. But we only ordered one piece. Good thing we did because the Monte Cristo was enough for us both. The Monte was a little too greasy for me, I didn't enjoy it as much as the fried fish. Thankfully, since we had so much food my husband and I just shared. It was enough for us both. I hope to come back to this location again. We enjoyed ourselves. Good service and good food. read more

If you're looking for a good dinner spot in New Mexico, I strongly suggest Turtle Mountain. This was my favorite restaurant of the whole trip and all of the food was very good. I got the "White Sands" pizza which is just a basic white pizza, but it came out fast and tasted great. A great find and would definitely come back if I have the chance. read more

I have visited the location on Southern, but this location was another experience!! We went on a Saturday evening so a short wait was expected. I was not looking to drink alcohol so had an ice tea. When I say the cups were huge - HUGE!!! It was amazing! We loved the cups so much we wanted them for home! This location is much bigger and more family friendly than the other. More of a restaurant vibe than dive bar. Large open area, well lit, very busy! The waiter was very nice, friendly and prompt! The hostesses - not so much. When they called us to the table, the girl said to follow her, stopped and started discussing where we should sit, while we stood trying to figure out when we were going. About 30 seconds later she asked where did they go. I was right in front of her. She turned out the menus on the table behind her and said here you go! The food was amazing!! We were craving burgers and they did not disappoint! Very juicy, large and great portion of fries! My daughter was watching them set the plates and was "amazed" at the service!! Server was fantastic!! My only complaint - because we were behind the hostess stand, apparently they keep the broom and dustpan right there which was very loud when they grabbed and plopped back down the dustpan. Stopped by for a beer and dinner after bailing from a scary nearby brewery. Place was packed with a line outside. Resulting service was very slow. I watched my beer sit at the pick-up station for over 10 minutes. We watched or dinner sit under the heat lamps for another dozen+ minutes. I asked why they only had a couple of their own beer on the menu and was told that they haven't started brewing at this location yet. About 8 other labels of local beer on tap. Definitely a restaurant that serves beer. Families and kids galore. Not a "brewery" vibe at all. Servers were scrambling and overwhelmed. The cup of water brought had a soapy/chemical taste, we think was in the ice. I tried the Wooden Teeth lager for the first and last time. It also had an odd taste, like a bourbon barrel finish that I know was not intended. Not sure why, but disappointed on the beer front for sure. Kudos though to the kitchen staff as the green chili cheese fries were really good and the Dubliner sandwich was fire. Actually picture perfect from the menus and perfectly executed. Went with friends and was quite impressed. Let's start with the beers. I ordered the Starving Artists collaborative Dortmunder beer and the first sip just knocked my socks off. Good thing I wore socks. What a wonderul balanced flavor. This might be a new favorite, although it's a temporary beer. I also got the Com-Bloc Black Baltic Stout - also good. But that Dortmunder, ooh la la. I also got the Jäger Chop which was two breaded pork chops with an incredible mushroom gravy (called Hunter gravy) which was set atop real mashed potatoes. It was flat fantastic. The gravy was flavorful and plentiful and I just wanted to drink it but I put it on the pork chops instead, which were perfectly cooked in a thick breading. So, so good. My better half got the King Ranch Wrap with sweet potato fries. She described it as having the exact right ratio of ingredients and sauce. My bud got the adult chicken tenders but I didn't catch what his wife got because, well, there were Jäger chops and they wouldn't eat themselves. I can't recommend this place more highly. Prices are fair for what you get, beer is good and the servers are friendly and prompt. What more could you ask for? read more

We tried to place a carryout order for pizza on Friday night, December 19th. We were told that they were too busy to take phone orders and if we wanted something we would have to drive up there place an order and then take it home. I called back to talk to the manager, because the young girl answered, the phone had a serious attitude problem. Her behavior was less of a problem than the managers. I told him that I would spread the word about their customer service and I said we're gonna go order a pizza somewhere else and his response to me was OK sounds great. I like Domino's and hung up. I would not give this place your money. We've eaten there a couple other times and the food has never been good. The only thing decent is the pizza and it's hard to screw up pizza. I would give this restaurant zero stars if I could. I sincerely hope the general manager gives me a call. read more

The New spot is kickn and is the hot spot in Rio Rancho, why? The staff, yup they are friendly and prompt to make sure you are welcome and happy. Keeping our drinks full along with our stomach's. The pizzas are the bomb. And of course the wine is yummy. As for the Monte Cristo, it is very authentic (c the pic) the open kitchen concept is very cool. A HINT don't sit by the bathrooms.
