Overcooked EXPENSIVE burger with leathery beef jerky textured PANCETTA
Oli G.

Highs and lows but overall solid: Highs: Meatballs with those grilled and seasoned toast points are extraordinary. Meatballs here are better than Cento's. Cocktails are good and high quality. These are not your watered down Applebees or Chilis type cocktails. They have heavy handed strong cocktails with good flavor profiles. The Mac and cheese is some of the BEST in the entire city regardless of where you go to get it from. It could be from a mom and pops soul food spot to the Top, Butcher and Rose, or otherwise and NO ONE can outdo this spots Mac and Cheese. The Prime NY Strip was cooked to perfection and melts in your mouth. Asparagus with Crab Cake was a homerun! French onion soup was a culinary MASTERPIECE. The fries are exquisite and you'll be missing out if you don't indulge in the butter cake with the ice cream on top. It's one of those desserts that you just can't stop eating. Lows: Parking is a nightmare. We had to walk several blocks under and around railroad tracks, and overgrown foliage, and homeless encampments in the "bottoms" of Franklinton just for a spot to park. I ordered the burger MEDIUM and they eviscerated and overcooked the hell out of it. They have an option of adding PANCETTA to the burger in which I did but that was a mistake too. In my mind I assumed it would be like a thin sorta crispy piece of PROSCIUTTO but instead the PANCETTA had a thick and kinda leathery almost like beef jerky texture that took away from the burger itself because it made everything too chewy. It was edible and the flavor profiles made sense but had they made the burger RIGHT it would have sent this burger over the top. Everything else was so solid that I didn't feel like sending it back to the kitchen but at almost $30 for a burger the cooks should've taken more care and compassion with the burger as they did with the Prime NY Strip that was cooked to perfection. The waitress recommended the Brussels Sprouts as a must get side but it was kinda too vinegary, basic, and unremarkable in comparison to other side dishes executed better. Brussel sprouts seemed like little to no effort were put into them. Overall this was a great meal and we can't wait to come back but we would stay away from the Burger and Brussel Sprouts and hopefully get better parking. These are minor inconveniences though and a very strong offering and option in the city if you're looking for a steakhouse!

I visited Losanti last weekend for a friend's birthday dinner, and we had such a good time. First off, the restaurant is beautiful. It's dimly lit, so it has this really chic, cozy vibe that's perfect for date nights, girls' nights, birthdays, or honestly any special occasion. We had a reservation, so we were seated right away in what felt like a little semi private dining room. It overlooked both the street and the rest of the restaurant, and it was honestly a great spot, especially if you're the type that likes to take pictures before you eat. Now let's get into this food because we ordered...a lot. We started with the focaccia, and it was so soft, fluffy, and cheesy. Definitely enough for the three of us to share. We also ordered cocktails. One friend got a French 75, I had a martini, and I can't remember what my other friend ordered, but everybody seemed happy. For our mains, we basically shared everything. We got the chicken parm, the salmon, and the truffle pasta with the meatball. That truffle pasta? Whew. Absolutely my favorite bite of the night. The sauce was thick and creamy without feeling too heavy, and that meatball was huge and just melted in your mouth. We also ordered the mac and cheese, which I loved. It was made with white cheeses and had so much flavor. I don't know exactly what herbs they used, but whatever they did worked. The Brussels sprouts with pancetta were another standout. They were super crispy, and the pancetta and sauce gave them this little hint of sweetness that balanced everything out really well. We also tried the Little Gem salad, and I loved the citrus from the grapefruit. It made the whole salad feel really fresh. By the time dessert rolled around, we were full but somehow we still found room. We shared the butter cake and gelato, and both were delicious. They even put a candle in the dessert for my friend's birthday and had a cute little birthday sign on the table, which was a nice touch. The service was also fantastic. I believe our server's name was Olivia, and she was great. She gave solid recommendations, kept the food and drinks coming all night, and just had a really friendly personality. She definitely helped make the experience even better. The only hiccup all night was that our room was a little warm. We mentioned it, and the staff immediately brought in two fans, which honestly fixed the problem pretty quickly. Also, shout out to whoever the boss babe was in that crisp suit because she was giving Richie from The Bear in the best way. She came in, handled everything without missing a beat, and made sure we were comfortable. Overall, I cannot stress enough how much fun we had. The food was genuinely delicious, the portions were great for sharing, the service was excellent, and the whole experience felt special from beginning to end. I've heard their happy hour is really good too, so I'll definitely be back to check that out.

Finally can check this off our list! Good, excellent. Truly. Nothing was a miss and everything fresh and fantastic. You can tell it's all in house and with culinary excellence. Their meats were super high quality, their pasta from scratch, every flavor well balanced. You must try the kale Caesar. I hate kale and I am obsessed with this salad. Phenomenal! Burrata was amazing, and some of the best oysters I've ever had! I wish we got the foccacia but we ordered quite a bit for two people. Service, also exceptional. So friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. Hats off to the team. Value-- actually prices surprised me. I expected to pay more but I thought everything was well priced. Ambiance I feel like is where it's lacking. I thought it would give Italian steakhouse vibes, but it seemed a little cheaply decorated. Food and service take top priority for me so it's not a big deal, but I think with the right furniture and vibe this place can be elevated a lot more. The furniture and decor was cheap looking and predictable. We'd definitely come back and we had a great time! Thank you

5 stars. We will definitely be back. Good service, great food, and a really nice restaurant. We parked in the Gravity garage and had no issues. The margarita was great, the focaccia was soft and delicious, and my filet was cooked perfectly medium well. The mashed potatoes and truffle mac and cheese were amazing. The elote corn was just okay for me, but my friend loved it. Don't skip dessert. The butter cake was SO good. Warm, moist, and served with vanilla ice cream and caramel syrup. The decor is beautiful too. Even the restroom was stunning. Overall a great experience.

Second time here, love this place. First time we went traditional Italian. I had the chicken Parm and my daughter had the Bolognese. Both are very good. We finished with the butter cake, which was outstanding. Second time in had steak, the fillet and the ribeye. Our server talked me into the Port wine butter, which was a very good idea. Never would've got that without the suggestion, but it made the steak one of the best I've ever had. Also ordered the mac & cheese, which was just crazy good as well as the French onion soup which was delicious.

We had a reservation on a Wednesday evening at Losanti, and it wasn't too busy aside from a few work dinners, which made for a relaxed atmosphere. We started with the focaccia topped with roasted tomato, basil, and parmesan--such a great way to kick things off. My friend and I also split the Little Gem salad with avocado, candied walnuts, grapefruit, fennel, and champagne vinaigrette. It was the perfect size to share and super refreshing. The restaurant itself is adorable--perfect for a date night or a girls night. This visit felt more like a quick dinner to try somewhere new, but I'd definitely come back for a more elevated, sit-down experience. For our main, we split the rigatoni bolognese with parmesan, and unfortunately it wasn't my favorite--the sauce just didn't do it for me. Next time, I'd love to try the gnocchi with truffle, pancetta, and sage or go for the steak frites. We also ordered the charred broccolini, which was good but didn't totally wow me. I'm curious to try the Brussels sprouts or the elote-style corn next time instead. Dessert was hands down the highlight--absolutely amazing. Honestly, I could see myself coming back just for dessert and drinks because both were that good.

Losanti was worth a visit but what is so hard about a steakhouse in Columbus is the comparables - Butcher & Rose, Jeff Ruby's, Avenue, Hyde Park, The Top and The Barn, etc). Given that, it was worth the try. Parking was interesting and definitely a drive from the Northeast where we live. The decor was dark, intimate and felt underwhelming for a steakhouse. The tables and chairs gave me Wayfair vibes and not necessarily elevated luxury. It did its job given the overall vibe. Let's get to the real good stuff. The service was excellent - from the host, the server to those who interacted with us throughout the night. The cocktails were elevated but, whoever crafted the listed drinks really liked Gin. Gin is less overpowering than most alcohol options and pairs well with most flavors so I understand. I would like to see more variety with use of Vodka, Tequila, Bourbon along with Gin. I stuck to wine this evening given my love for Tequila and lack of cocktail variety. Don't get me wrong, they did have a full bar and assuming they could make anything you wanted. My husband did get the Jalisco and, dang, that was a stiff drink! Flavors were amazing. The wine list was decent and plenty of variety that assuming pairs well with the menu. The food menu is limited and so is the dessert menu. I am perfectly okay with that given restaurants usually execute better that way. I appreciated they had fish and chicken options along with the steaks. We met our dear friends for an extention of a birthday celebration and steak wasn't a desire for a few people this evening. Thats okay because they both had other options to choose from. We started with the foccacia and the cocktail shrimp. The foccacia is a must order! The slight sweetness of the baked tomato sauce on top with the cheese and softness of the bread, just hit. I asked for olive oil and balsamic mixed on the side. Thank you to our server who knew exactly what I wanted. The shrimp cocktail was disappointing. It gave us, let me run to Kroger to grab a shrimp cocktail tray, vibe. They were small. I don't remember what the cocktail sauce tasted like because I was not excited. There were 7 so at least it made up for it. I expected larger shrimp for the ice tray it was presented in. My husband had the lobster pasta dish that was spicey and bland. Hard to explain because the tomato cream sauce just didn't pair well with the delicate lobster. Without the heat of the spice it would have been a hard pass. I got the 6 oz filet cooked medium. They executed that perfectly. A nice medium center with a crust on the outside and buttery soft chew. I threw the truffle butter on top and squeezed some of the roasted garlic to make a paste, spectacular! Good cut and great execution. To wrap up the night we got the butter cake. Our server got the gesture we were there celebrating a birthday. He brought the cake out with a lit candle and we never asked. The sweetest! The cake was soo good and huge. Buttery, slightly dense and sweet with an amazing crispy crust. The caramel Gelato on top sealed the deal. Outstanding! A mixed review for my mixed feelings. Overall a great evening but I am not raving to come back given other alternatives in the city.

Espresso Martini

5/5 My wife and I had an amazing experience at Losanti and definitely see why it gets so much hype. We started with the mussels, which were a great way to kick things off. For entrées, I had the 14 oz ribeye and she had the 7 oz filet mignon; both were cooked perfectly and absolutely worth it. For drinks, she ordered the espresso martini (which recently won #1 at Columbus Espresso Martini Fest earlier this month), and I had the Mezcal Last Word. Both cocktails were excellent and complemented the meal really well. Overall, the service, food, drinks, and atmosphere made for a fantastic experience. It's definitely not an everyday dinner spot price-wise, but it's absolutely worth the money. Perfect for a special occasion, date night, or anytime you want a genuinely great dining experience.

My husband and I had an amazing dinner at Losanti. First, I love the ambiance, lighting, the decor, and the seating was stylish but very comfortable as well. The hospitality was incredible. Every server was so kind (our main one was Ryan, he was wonderful) and they provided an over-the-top experience. Even the gentleman bringing out the food took his time to get us excited about each dish and they all seemed to really enjoy their job. Onto the drinks, delicious!! I had the Lillet Rose and it was perfectly sweet. My husband had the Old Fashioned and he said it was one of the best he's had. Now onto our food, we had the shrimp cocktail and it was great and the cocktail sauce had a nice kick to it. For the main meal, our steaks were cooked exactly how we asked, the food was hot, and every bite was amazing! Big of the truffle butter! Our sides were the mashed potatoes, broccoli, and mushrooms. Lastly, we got the butter cake and I had an espresso martini. The martini was strong and so delicious and the butter cake is so good and it was huge! I'm not even a big sweets person and I couldn't stop eating it! We will definitely come again and we're looking forward to trying more on the menu next time!

Happy hour meatball

Stopped in for an early birthday dinner a few days ago. For parking there is a garage but it was a bit of a walk to get to the actual entrance. Or maybe we went the wrong way not sure. Service was great. Our server was knowledgeable and prompt. We made it in for happy hour so we tried the meatball. It was very good! And the grilled pesto bread that came with it was perfect. I got the steak frites as my main. It was basically a plate of fries with a side of steak steak was decent. I did like the chimichurri on it. The chicken parm was also tasty but again a bit of a smaller portion for the price. Overall I'd definitely be back in but would try different items on the menu.

Focaccia

We tried the new restaurant. I'll start with the good, the beef tartare has so much flavor and the bread is soft. The kale caesar is huge and also amazing. The ribeye was one of the best we've had at steakhouses with the char and salt. The pasta isn't worth ordering again, the flavor of the sauce had a sweetness to it. The focaccia was a miss.. tastes like a sweet bread rather than typical focaccia flavor. The butter cake is to die for!!! Best we've ever had. Drinks were good as well. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. The ambience is part of my reason for one less star. Location is everything, outside you could see either a graffiti wall or a street with large poles in the way. The inside is beautiful for the space they have.

Shrimp cocktail

Great fine dining experience at Losanti! We came for happy hour (even on the weekends!) which is 4-6pm, discounted drinks, apps, and the Losanti burger. Everything came out fresh and fast, however I do take a star down based on the portion sizes, specifically the shrimp cocktail. For $10, serving five shrimp in a large ice bucket seemed a little cheap, especially for such an upscale restaurant. The service was excellent, with our waiters checking on us throughout the visit, and the manager also stopped by to talk to us. The standout was the butter cake for dessert!! Trust me, just get it- gooey, piping hot, buttery, sweet, and topped with ice cream, I would come back for this dessert alone. Overall, very nice experience, but would like to see a more robust happy hour, especially after a new opening!

Our server, Anders, was outstanding. He struck the perfect balance of being attentive without being intrusive, frequently refilling our water glasses and offering excellent wine recommendations throughout the evening. We started with the arancini, which was absolutely delicious. Everyone else ordered salads, so I felt compelled to join them. Anders suggested a half Italian salad, and it turned out to be the perfect portion. For my entrée, I chose the mushroom ravioli in a cream sauce, which was the evening's special. It did not disappoint! Every dish at the table was thoroughly enjoyed, and everyone cleaned their plates. For dessert, my niece chose the lemon tart, which Anders presented with a candle, adding another special touch to the celebration. When I asked for his recommendation, he suggested the tiramisu. Wow! It was incredible and the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, it was a fantastic evening filled with great food, exceptional service, and wonderful family memories. We can't wait to come back!

As a Destin, FL native now living in Dublin, OH, I've been on the hunt for the best spots around…read morehere. A coworker of mine suggested this place to me a year ago when I started my new job. After skimming through the reviews I was a bit hesitant on coming here, but honestly I can assure you that the only thing I regret is not trying this place sooner. My boyfriend and I noticed it was in a small plaza and our first thought was that a "hole in the wall" place are usually the best so we were immediately excited. I did make a 6pm reservation after reading the reviews even though it was Wednesday and we were seated on arrival. We noticed the place was starting to get packed so I do agree that making a reservation would be best or try to avoid coming here on the weekends if you have issues with waiting or being crammed in small places. From start to finish, everything was a delight. Here's what we savored: * The homemade bread and butter- simply fantastic. I was going to ask for warm bread after reading a review, but since the waitress brought it out immediately I didn't mind and honestly it didn't need to be warm because it was good as is. The butter IS a true winner. I had to pace myself because I didn't want to fill up too soon! * Apps: WARNING portions are generous enough to be meals! We couldn't believe they were appetizers when it was brought out. Crab Cake- I've eaten a lot of crab cakes and I will say no, this wasn't the best crab cake I've had in my life BUT it was definitely a really good crab cake. Especially one with no breading. It was served with a delicious lemon butter sauce. Whoever wrote that the sauce was "sour" in a review made me giggle while eating this because I mean the sauce has lemon in it... hence the name, but even so the flavors were perfectly balanced and I enjoyed every bite. Fried Eggplant- okay my taste buds went over the moon with this one. An absolute standout. The eggplant was cooked to near perfection, and the creamy tomato sauce was to die for. 10/10! It was such a flavorful dish. Tossed Salad- a fresh, vibrant salad with a vinaigrette dressing so addictive we finished it in minutes. This is a unique salad because of the bow tie pasta in it. The tomatoes and green beans that also come in the salad are a nice touch and very enjoyable. * Entree- my boyfriend ordered the Chicken Marsala and he loved it! The chicken was cooked flawlessly, and the pasta was incredibly soft--possibly one of the best texture I've ever experienced. The marsala sauce was rich and flavorful. Ravioli- I opted for the spinach noodles with ricotta cheese and chose the link sausage. I also asked to have the crumbled sausage added as well (for an extra charge) because I needed to try this sausage that everyone has been talking about..... This Morettis sausage recipe does NOT disappoint. If you don't like "spice" you won't like it because it does have a kick to it, but I enjoy spicy. I will say I'm a fan of the crumbled sausage over the links though. It may be the same thing??? but I could go without the link casing. The ravioli were massive, perfectly stuffed, and absolutely delicious. Dessert: We couldn't resist not ordering and trying the dessert so we took it to go. They were offering a caramel apple cheesecake. After the food coma wore off, we enjoyed it at home, and I fell even more in love with this place. It's unlike anything I've tasted--cheesecake with apples inside is a game-changer! Every sauce and dish was outstanding, bursting with flavor and made with care. Karen took excellent care of us, making us feel welcome and ensuring we had a fantastic first experience. We're already planning our return to explore more of the menu. Thank you for a wonderful dinner. This place truly exceeded my expectations!

The second time was when we found out they close at 8pm. The third time was a charm - we had a 6:15 reservation, and were seated promptly since that was apparently considered the late end of the dinner hour. Our party of six contained three people in their 40's and three 75+. We felt like we brought down the average age significantly. It was like being at a slightly upscale MCL. But LOUD. Like as in could not converse with the person next to you without shouting level loud. The bread and butter were the highlight - fresh bread and a wonderful compound butter with garlic, onion, and herbs. The wedding soup was also very good, with enormous slabs of chicken and vegetables, but oddly no meatballs. The salads were creative, incorporating pasta, green beans, and other items rarely seen in a standard side salad. The entrees were where things got weird. Unlike most of our party, I like mushrooms - but I'm not sure I've ever seen a menu with so many of them. Even the otherwise traditional chicken Parmesan had a large assortment of them scattered across the top. They were tasty, but there did not seem to be any consideration of presentation or general compatibility with the primary ingredients. The vast majority of items are in red sauce, which was fine but not particularly memorable. The piccata sauce was reminiscent of the lemon substance served over fried chicken at old school Chinese restaurants. We shared the tiramisu and caramel apple cheesecake, both of which were wonderful but neither of which was made by the restaurant according to the server. Even with the relative scarcity of Italian restaurants in Columbus, I suspect it will be a few more decades before we circle back to Moretti's again - but if we identify the source of the bread or desserts, we will be first in line at those places.

Looking back even the Lighter fare menu is too expensive especially for only one main course on the nights menu that offers Shrimp on your pasta, not even a protein like Chicken or Beef. The most disappointing part of the meal was the temperature of the food, not even remotely warm for this small restaurant. I had a guest dining with me and their first course of Toasted focaccia, Salt-cured Italian anchovies, Bagnet Verd which was comically 2 tiny pieces of bread smaller than a quarter & rock hard for $17.95. Sadly, I would not recommend Pelino's Pasta its too expensive & your clothes smell of seafood after dining there.
