MR fajita taco al carbon as requested!!!
    Kelly W.

Service was extremely disappointing. Perhaps I came at a shift change, but my waiter & all waiters disappeared after my food was delivered. No one checked in on me. I needed water & salsa. I stacked my dishes & pushed them onto the outer corner of my table. No one came. Eventually I had to go to the bar to get someone to bring my check. That said, I was impressed with my food. I asked if I could get the beef fajita medium rare on my taco al carbon & I did! Pappasitos is often unable to do that on an order of fajitas. I used to visit Los Tios Bellaire with my grandmother way back in the 70s. As I became old enough to drink I have vivid memories of her drinking margaritas, getting a brain freeze, touching her head & saying, "It hurts." I hope that the Bellaire location stays open so that I can visit the same location that I spent my childhood at & took my grandmother to as an adult. I will give this location another chance. I love the gorgeous decor & building.

This is my favorite Los Tios location with the Westheimer store coming in close second. I enjoy the ambiance the San Felipe location provides. They have a nice bar area that is split into two sides and the main dining is also split between two sections. This helps mitigate the crowd noise during peak hours. From my experience the value is fair until you start getting into customizations. That goes primarily for alcohol but has been known to apply to certain food add ons as well. Also worth noting I have experienced the occasional stale puffy queso. I've addressed this with management where it was quickly reconciled. I would certainly recommend visiting the Los Tios San Felipe location for any occasion. Favorites include: Fajitas, tacos, guacamole, fajita enchiladas and blood orange margaritas: The only aspect I'm not a fan of is the tablets the servers are required to operate when taking an order. It creates awkward moments and is not as personable. Restaurants using this technique should advocate for a better solution.

This review is long overdue. I'm posting this because of the wonderful service Carla always provides. It's actually been two weeks since we last dined here but I haven't forgotten how wonderful her service is and the food. It's actually my husband's favorite Tex Mex restaurant in Houston. My husband always orders the enchiladas Al carbon which consists of enchiladas beef fajitas. This was my first time ordering the Veracruz. It was red fish with a delicious sauce. My son always orders the bacon wrapped shrimp. Every time we come, we always look for a table in the bar area because it's where Carla is. She always greets us with a warm welcome.

I've been to Los Tios twice now for lunch and happy hour. Los Tios is a relaxed vibe with good Tex Mex and tasty margaritas. I like the margarita specials they have during the week and happy hour. Can't really beat it. I really enjoyed the puffy for lunch. It's surprisingly filling. Stuffed with beef and whatever toppings you want. The enchiladas al carbon were also good. Got them with sour cream sauce.

I've never had a puffy queso and I just had to try one here. I got mine stuffed with chicken and pork which looked and tasted yummy . If you are really hungry you might want to get a combo with it included or else you might need more. Luckily for me I had filled up on chips and queso which were just as delicious! My kids 4&6 enjoyed their meals , a quesadillas and bean burrito) and we were able to customize part of the meal for their picky nuances. The service was great and we were able to get in and out quickly without any complaints from the kids.

I will definitely be coming here again! I live pretty close and always pass this restaurants. We decided to try this place out for lunch, and it did not disappoint! The food was fantastic and service was good. Definitely come here if you're craving some good food!

It was a lot of food! Portions were really good. I wish I had the option of switching out my taco shell for a soft taco. It wasn't my favorite Tex Mex place but it did have a big diverse menu. I was seated by the kitchen so it had a cleaning smell to my seat. The place was more run down but it was still homey inside. The puffy queso was interesting and something that was unique. The food itself was okay but again wasn't my favorite taco.

Let's start off with the drinks. The alcoholic beverages make up for the food not being the best...they were delicious--smooth, refreshing, and dangerously easy to drink. Service was great, though there was no host at the front, so we just sat ourselves. Not a big deal, but worth mentioning. The ambiance was a highlight. The windows open, good airflow, and it gave off that nostalgic '90s Mexican restaurant vibe. Now, the food... not up to par. The enchiladas with green tomatillo salsa tasted...weird. Which was disappointing. That said, the rice and beans were solid. But honestly, I wouldn't come back for the food or just the drinks

Completely Uncomfortable Experience Despite Good Food... I'm writing this review with serious concern after a very disappointing experience at Los Tios Mexican Restaurant. While the food was actually quite good, the service specifically from a waiter named Jose was unacceptable and made the entire evening uncomfortable and unpleasant for us . During our dinner Jose repeatedly crossed professional boundaries by trying to flirt with my friend, despite her clearly not engaging or showing any interest! What started as overly friendly comments quickly turned into constant , unwanted attention. Even after it was obvious that his behavior was not welcome he still continued making her feel awkward, and disrespected throughout our dinner . This wasnt a case of harmless friendly behavior it felt inappropriate, unprofessional, and borderline harassing. We came in expecting a relaxed dinner and left feeling upset . It's unfortunate that someone representing the restaurant thought this kind of behavior was okay . I strongly urge Los Tios management to address this issue seriously. No one should feel targeted by a member of the staff while simply trying to enjoy a meal. Until then I cannot in good conscience recommend this location to others, ESPECIALLY women dining here !

I grew up on LT, so I have been a fan for many years. This location is new and impressive compared to the others. High ceilings, expansive decor, and beautiful lighting. They have a regular high top bar at the entrance, and on the other side, the bar extends with a seating area lower to the floor. It's unique and pretty. We had a family dinner for my birthday this past week. We went on a Thursday night around 7:30. We were seated immediately in a booth per our request. The service was good, the food was good, and the prices are decent. My only notable insight to share is the noise level. As I always state, I am a noise sensitive person, so I am not a fan of loud places. The high ceiling in this restaurant make for a loud environment, especially at prime dinner time. It was a little hard to hear the full conversation between the 4 of us, and remember, we were in a booth against the wall under the shorter ceiling area. I can't even imagine how it must sound in the high ceiling area. I always mention noise levels because dining with my family, significant other, and/or friends, means a lot to me. I enjoy that time to talk with each other and not have to shout. As pretty as the restaurant was, I probably will not return due to the noise level. At best, I would choose a different time to go. As we neared the end of our dinner, around 9:00 PM, the noise level did get better. However, it could have been the margaritas kicking in and making me not care as much. Cheers!

    Happy hour until 7.

A place I grew up in as a little girl in Beaumont but never have I've visit this "original" location. Stepping in to this spot felt like a restaurant in the country of Mexico. I ordered the El Henry. I absolutely loved my dish, only thing I would've chance was the cheese enchilada definitely would've swap for a chicken or beef one, or maybe even a flaunta. I really like the Mexican rice, it had little potatoes and carrots in it. Some of the best Mexican yellow rice I've had. They offer a cinco de mayo drink special. The only thing that seem to make it special was the drinks apparently were limited edition menu items. Nothing was special about the prices. The regular menu drinks were a dollar(s) less. The margarita I ordered first was peach coconut. I didn't taste the coconut at all. I swap for the peach strawberry ($14 or 15) which was great, sweet& strong. One did me just right. You get to select up to two flavors for additional $2 (for both verse each, that's a plus. Not worded on menu). If you select a third flavor an additional $2 would be added ($4 in total) I appreciate separate tickets provided after confirmation and no additional gratuity automatically added, which he got tip equally the same or more. When asked about the "empty" patio that was available, he informed us that the entire deck was reserved. Upon departing I noticed from the parking lot individual tables, of separate parties were occupying only 3 tables. It was 8 of us sitting at 2 tables. Which the table was pushed up against the wall, and one side was inaccessible, which took away spacing. Service was lovely space was really tight. Good thing some of the ladies didn't order full meals. Definitely wouldn't have been able to fit every plate.

For drinks, my husband and our friends tried some of the margaritas from their large and unique margaritas menu, as well as their hibiscus agua fresca. The chips were on the thicker side, but were crispy and not stale or chewy at all. Each of the salsas were quite different, and two were served warm, which we really liked! For the price, I'd consider getting the chips and salsa as a non-negotiable, honestly. For entrees, we tried the enchilada rojas, chilaquiles verde w/ chicken and beef, birria barbacoa ramen, and huaraches. My husband felt like his ramen could have included more meat, but aside from that everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. The highlight was probably the desserts, though! We got a quatro leches and two ordered of their giant and amazing churros. Both were incredibly tasty and reason enough to return for another visit in the future!

It definitely is enough for 2. The meat melts in your mouth. EVERYTHING is better quality than here. Teo charged $1.50 for perhaps 4 or 5 slices of lime to make the happy hour margaritas made with a gross mix drinkable. That's outrageous. (NOTE: ONLINE MENU ISNT COMPLETELY UP TO DATE)…read more First time here and had a great brunch experience! My husband's cousin raved about having dinner here the week prior so we decided to try out the Sunday brunch. My husband and I were somewhat skeptical at first based off of the photos. This is not our typical Mexican food. The plates looked a lot smaller online, but I am so glad we tried it because it was delicious!! To start we had a few drinks: 1. Flor de Fuego - it tasted like agua de jamaica with a splash of citrus, in my opinion it was very refreshing 9/10 2. Frozen Margarita - my husband's cousin ordered this in a yeti tumbler, he said the margarita was really good except it was a bit hard to drink since it was frozen the whole time lol 8.5/10 ***tumbler was an additional cost. It is a 16oz yeti. They do offer $10 refills anytime you bring the cup back 3. My husband drank a pacifico. Classic beer. They offered it in both bottle and in glass. 9/10. 4. Carafe mango mimosa - this served about 4 drinks total. It was very champagne forward with the tiniest amount of juice 7.5/10 APPETIZERS: 1. Housemade Bacon w/ Salsa Ranchera - in my opinion this was DELICIOUS. The salsa on this was amazinggg. This dish also comes with a side of authentic flour tortillas. 10/10 2. Tiradito de Hamachi - meh, it was good but wouldn't order again. It literally just tasted like strawberries with a salty aftertaste. We really wanted the aguachiles but they were no longer on the brunch menu. 6.5/10 3. Enfrijoladas - surprisingly this had a lot of flavor, it was paired with the same salsa at the bacon 10/10 ENTREES: 1. Ensalada de cesar - pretty solid, very lemony 8/10 2. Steak and eggs - this was really good, i would say that the steak looked a lot bigger online but it was still overall a delicious filling dish 9.5/10 3. Chilaquiles Divorciados - Probably my favorite thing on the menu. YOU NEED TO TRY THIS WITH THE BARBACOA! It had so much flavor to it and the barbacoa just melts in your mouth 10/10 4. Bacon Burrito - the other couple ordered this and said they enjoyed it, we all expected it to be a lot bigger though 8/10 DESSERT: 1. Tres Leches - the jam on this wasnt my favorite. It was very overpowering. The cake itself was really good. Would order again with fresh strawberries, no jam 7.5/10 2. Banana Pudding Bunelo - its your typical bunelo with a small amount of banana cream filling, topped with homemade banana ice cream 7.5/10 3. Masa Pancake - I am not the biggest fan of pancakes so I didn't try it but the other couple enjoyed it OVERALL: 9/10 experience!!! Total for our portion (Hamachi, 2 drinks, salad, steak, chilaquiles, and tres leches) came out to a total of about $120. We Will definitely be coming back to try out their dinner menu. Unfortunately, we were told that the green spaghetti is no longer on the menu !!!!

Parking ended up being easier than expected because we got lucky and found a spot at one of the neighboring businesses. To start, we ordered a few aguas frescas and the papas bravas. The aguas frescas were probably my first sign that this meal was not going to go the way I expected. Instead of tasting like traditional aguas frescas -- sweet, refreshing, and fruit-forward -- they tasted more like an Erewhon-style "healthy" remake. They were pretty to look at, but practically flavorless. I genuinely couldn't tell the difference between the strawberry and mango versions. The papas bravas, however, were actually good. They were seasoned well and cooked nicely. The prosciutto caught me off guard because the texture was closer to jerky than what I expected, but flavor-wise it was fine. The real issue came with the entrées. We ordered the mole quiche, chilaquiles, and steak & eggs. The chilaquiles were honestly such a letdown. They were plated beautifully, but the flavor completely lacked depth. I couldn't tell you the difference between the red and green chilaquiles because neither really tasted like anything. Most of the flavor on the plate came from the egg, avocado, and pickled onions. The barbacoa itself was okay -- it's hard to ruin barbacoa unless you completely overcook it. I love chilaquiles and I'll fully admit I'm a snob when it comes to them, but somehow this restaurant managed to make one of the most flavorful comfort foods taste bland. The mole quiche felt like "innovation" for the sake of innovation. In my opinion, mole and quiche simply do not pair well together. The dish was soggy and unpleasant to eat, and the mole itself lacked the richness and complexity that makes authentic mole special. It just tasted bland. The steak & eggs could've been good had the server asked how we wanted the steak cooked. I enjoy medium rare when it's a high-quality cut, but on a tougher cut of steak, it just doesn't work as well -- and my father definitely wasn't a fan either. The one redeeming part of the meal was the Banana Pudding Buñuelo. That dessert was genuinely good. The banana pudding and ice cream both had great flavor, and the texture of the buñuelo itself was really nice. I can't say anything negative about the service. Our waitress was kind and attentive throughout the meal, and someone who I believe was the manager was also very warm and friendly. Overall, I'm mostly just frustrated by how disappointing the food was. I came in expecting an elevated, memorable brunch experience and left wishing I had just made reservations at Xochi, Caracol, or honestly stayed home and had my mom make chilaquiles instead. That said, I may come back eventually to try their tasting menu because at this point I'm determined to understand why so many people rave about this place.

In addition to this, there can be a significant 2-4 hour wait to get seated during peak hours. However, all of the customers I spoke with stated that once you were able to sit down, the overall experience was worth waiting for. The main feature that makes Doña Leti's stand out from other restaurants is its focus on tradition in terms of how the food is made. Each dish has very unique flavors. The dishes are also very large portions and offer a great amount of comfort while still being high end. Additionally, the drink offerings are an excellent choice. They are made with the same attention to detail as the meals, and add to the flavor and enjoyment of your meal. The staff provides exceptional service even though the establishment is full. The staff keeps up with the large number of people coming in and out with a sense of professionalism and friendliness. One thing that Doña Leti's does exceptionally well is provide a lot of food for the price. As long as you don't mind waiting for your table, you will have a wonderful dining experience. The fact that Doña Leti's is so busy is proof that the service, food and drinks are all good, and well worth the wait

Upon walking in the restaurant was clean it was pretty packed for a Wednesday night but the aroma of the food! OMG! Our server was really nice and patient because my friend and I talked for about 30 minutes before we finally ordered our food. He has the beef enchiladas with rice and black beans. He cleaned his plate...literally not a grain of rice in sight! I had the smoked chicken verde enchiladas and WOW! What an amazing dish. I consider myself a Mexican food connoisseur especially being from California. I have always said Tex Mex?.....eeeeyuck! But Candente has changed my tune! I will definitely be back to visit when I return!

Glowing red. Burning. Candente…read more Let me start by saying that I'm not into Mexican food unless it's an auntie or grandma making it at their house. I prefer traditional homemade Mexican food but here we are. (Oh I googled and suggested this place lol) Went in for a team lunch on a Friday. Coworker's birthday lunch and she wanted Mexican. Party of 9 and we were seated promptly. They have a lunch menu and a happy hour as well as a full menu and full bar. The interior was nicely decorated. And open. There is bar seating and patio seating as well. Our waitress was Aisha and she was amazing. Friendly, helpful and patient. And able handle our large group and a few more tables with a smile. There were a variety of options. Salads, fajitas, nachos, enchiladas, etc. Also complimentary chips and salsa. My Order: chicken tortilla soup, lunch fajitas combo - chicken and beef. Chicken tortilla soup (3.5/5) - it was a bit salty for me but I am not a salt person so most things are salty to me; everyone else said it was tasty, there were tons of shredded chicken, avocado pieces, tortilla strips Fajitas - combo (4/5) - chicken was seasoned well and the beef (medium rare) was perfection and so tender and juicy, mexican rice was fluffy, and normally I would pass on the beans and get extra rice but my coworker suggested the charro beans and wow, that was a win - the seasoning was great, there were chunks of meat and the texture was nice, the only thing that could have been done better is the flour tortillas - they over-charred them making them too crispy and left them with a burnt taste. A couple of people got the elote salad and raved about it. So that will be a next time try. Def will be back. Everyone enjoyed their meals and some even ordered food to go. Would recommend.
