I've been here so many times for breakfast and lunch. Today, I asked for enchiladas with no onions. As I'm eating my food, I bite into an onion. Something about me and onions that disgust me. I tell the waitress who always has a bad attitude and she stands there looking at me. She says it doesn't have onions. I kindly ask if she wants me to show her from the food in my napkin that I just spit out. She walks away. She comes back and tells me the owner said we don't put onions in the enchiladas as she hands me the same plate. I know what onion taste like and I know what it feels like when you bite into one. Maybe the plate wasn't filled with onions, maybe it had 2 or 10. All I know is I didn't want it, so why take the chance and bring it to me? Horrible customer service. My go to spot for breakfast. I love the huevos rancheros and have never been disappointed. The Menudo here is very popular. Service has always been great. They do however get very busy weekend mornings and you often have to wait. They do try to get you in and seated quickly. I've never waited more than 5-10 mins. 2nd time I be been here this week. At first I thought because it was Lunch time. I came during dinner and still the service is super slow. I've been waiting over half an hour for my food. Come to find out I see the waitress attending us sweeping the kitchen floor. Don't they have kitchen staff to do that??? Ridiculously slow for soso tasteful Mexican food. Tostadas were stale. I ordered 2 Menudo in my own pot and 1 Pozole took over 30 minutes for them to fill my order. I drove home and wife opened the Menudo pot and it was Pozole! We called Los Jarrones and they said bring it back. Drove back to Los Jarrones handed them the pot with the Pozole in it and she took it to the kitchen and came back a few minutes later. A restaurant's first week is its moment to shine, but the recently relocated Los Jarrones on East Redd Road fell far shorty of a successful launch. While the restaurant was packed from restaurant goers who'd waited nearly three months while the eatery opened just a few hundred yards away from its previous location, it should have waited to open a few more weeks to get some kinks out. Among its problems, the men's rest room was filthy and a urinal was leaking. Men had to walk through diluted urine to get to their restroom destination. The rest room should never be dirty, but certainly not the first week. It took more than 20 minutes to get our guacamole appetizer. Additionally, it was more onions and tomatoes than it was guacamole. The previous location got it right every time. Surely, a move just up the road didn't require a recipe change. We were served in the bar area, and the floor was littered with half-opened artificial sugar packs and used napkins. Again, this is the first week. The female barkeeper was overwhelmed and should have never been asked to handle bartending duties as well as serving duties. That said, that was the task and she handled both poorly. We waited nearly 40 minutes for our food. When it arrived, the plates were not warm to the touch and food was lukewarm. We had to wait an additional few minutes because she didn't have enough silverware. I ordered a Coke and instead of the usual Mexican Coke, it came from the fountain. It was overly sweet and clearly the mix was way off. My wife was served her Ague de Horchata in a Styrofoam cup instead of a glass. No explanation was given. I spoke to the manager and offered to send him via email these concerns. He didn't care to share his email. Hence, here they are. If this were the restaurant's grand opening, we could let it pass as opening-week jitters. However, this is a formerly well-regarded chain, and the previous location was only a bit down the block. read more

The food is delicious. Poor service, management and organization. We went during the breakfast rush. Everyone waiting for a table just crowds around the entrance. I thought the new building was going to solve the waiting area problem they had in the previous location, but I was wrong. When we finally got a table they sat us on the first booth right by the entrance. People waiting to be seated were leaning up against our booth, making it very uncomfortable. The new setup at Jarrones is terrible. They have set up microtables and didn't have enough waitresses last night. Saw two families walk out because no one came to serve them after 20 or so minutes. The new waitresses were wiping off the tables and just throwing the waste on the floor. Observing lots of other customers patiently waiting for refills or to actually have someone take their order. People actually getting up to get refills. Don't know why this company decided to go so big and not hire the people, waiters/waitresses, to handle the flow of added customers. One of the better authentic mexican food places I have been to since moving to El paso. Both times I visited I ordered the menudo. Not too spicey as a previous reviewer claimed. It was just spicy enough. Served with a side of onions and dry limes ( juicy would have been better) the tables have shaker jars of red chile flakes and oregano. But the best part of sides is the wonderfully fresh roll slightly buttered and toasted. It came from the adjoining bakery which you definitely will want to visit. May I suggest the bischochitos? This last time I visited, I went on a Sunday at 11:00 am and just in time. A crowd of hungry people streamed in nonstop after 11:15. People were waiting outside to get in. As a regular customer at Los Jarrones for over a year I've seen the good and the bad . Be cautious spending your money here cause your experience might be bad or good . First thing is the servers , specifically the female servers . No matter what server you get , they all have selective hearing and never get the order right the first time . Second, they have a very bad problem with running their food on time so you end up spending money on a cold plate . After they give you your food don't expect them to come back to check up on you or to give you a damn refill on your drink . They work as if they aren't worried about a tip .The frustration from dealing with the servers just ruins the whole experience every time . It's a mystery to me why this restaurant only has 5 reviews. Los Jarrones served as my first real taste of El Paso, both figuratively and literally. I'm currently visiting for business, and after checking into the hotel, our team hit up this Mexican food monolith for some authentic grub. I didn't pay much attention to the decor, but it seems to mimic the general scenery of El Paso. The menu is straight forward. I ordered a chicken burrito and a Mexican plate (one beef taco, one chile relleno, and one cheese enchilada). I'd like to note that this would easily cost $15-$20 at a Chuy's in Austin. The burrito was $3 (maybe $4 for chicken) and the plate $7. The chicken in the burrito was a little dry but nothing some salsa/chile relleno/enchilada sauce couldn't fix. The plate was served a la Mexicana, so it came with lettuce and tomatoes, as well as a good portion of rice and beans. Oh yeah.. we were served chips and salsa beforehand, so needless to say I was close to bursting. I was very satisfied with the quality of the food and the price. I like to help local businesses so I tried the old location a few times and it was not a good place. Their service was horrible, the menudo was sour (probably spoiled), tables were filthy. I saw there was a new location and decided to try it; maybe things have changed. It didn't start well. The host was giving preference to a family who was on their way to the restaurant instead of sitting people who were already there. I guess they knew these people. After we were seated our server kept going by us then finally telling us that he will be right with us. 20 minutes went by, nothing, he didn't even take our drink order. The place was full so it is understandable if things take time. The thing is, the bartender looked bored, servers were standing around laughing and on their cell phones, people around us were complaining about their orders and service. I think total time we were at our table was like 30 minutes with no service at all. We decided to go to another local place we frequent a lot; way different experience. This place was busy as well, but the service was excellent and the food was delicious. I'm definitely not going back to jarrones. It isn't worth the wait, the service Is still bad. I am sad to write this review. My husband and I love this place, but we recently had an experience that I cannot let go. A week ago my husband and I stopped by the restaurant/bakery to purchase some pan blanco for dinner. When we got home I took the bread out to make dinner and turned to cut it open when I noticed a blade on the backside of the bread. I was so upset I immediately went back to the bakery and showed them the bread. They acted as if it was nothing. I demanded my money back and for them to replace the bread at no charge and the cashier said she was not giving me anything for free. I was so taken aback by their reaction that I left. My husband went back the next day to speak with the owner and he was never there. The third time he finally spoke with the manager who was more understanding and concerned with the situation. He give my husband the number to the owner and when my husband called him, he was very rude. He suggested that we placed the blade in the bread and that all we wanted was money. I can say that we will no longer be returning here. The owner does not care about his customers safety or health. We only wanted to bring this to their attention, we were not looking for a payout. My husband and I eat here quite often, especially on Sundays when we come to shop at the new Wal Mart across the street. The wait staff is always friendly and there's food on the menu for everyone! The lady at the register who claimed to be the owner, refused to put the sale through when just last week, and many other times before, they've put the sale through( plus i tip) She said I could purchase a drink $2.99 or anything else. Very BAD service. Yesterday I was out to eat breakfast with my friends,we were having a good time. Right when we were done eating, the waitress came and asked us to leave giving us our check. Our first opportunity to try the new location, decor has been upgraded, but service has dropped considerable. We waited 20 minutes for a table, even though we were told 10. This we can understand, but to wait 50 minutes for food once ordered is not right. At one point the waiter indicated he could not control the kitchen - sorry, but not my problem. When I have a concern, it is the establishment that the concern is focused on, not individuals. The food once received was okay, and in my case luke warm - but was afraid of an even longer wait if I said anything. Tostadas are good - for that was all that we had for 50 minutes. My family and I decided to eat lunch here yesterday. We chose a Mexican restaurant because my aunt and uncle who live in ohio, rarely eat authentic Mexican food. The restaurant seemed packed when we arrived, however we were seated within minutes of arriving. My aunt who is originally from Japan enjoyed the tacos very much. My sister was the only one who did not enjoy her food. She ordered noodle and tomato soup, but claimed it tasted more like V8 juice. She was carrying a list and writing down names for the next available table. Our name was skipped and scratched of by someone else. We have been here many times. It looks like the service and food have diminished. The place is always full, I didn't mind waiting. We were seated within 10 minutes. Our server came promptly and asked us what we wanted to drink. We ordered coffee and my wife ordered the Huevos a la Mexicana, I order the huevos rancheros. She brought the coffee right-away. She didn't bring any water or chips and salsa. By the time she brought our food, the coffee was cold. We had ordered tortillas. By the time she brought the tortillas, (which were burnt), our food was cold. My wife said that the huevos a la Mexicana were good. A few years ago, the quality of food and service was great, and I would frequent there every week. Over time, everything has changed. For one, the presentation has become sloppy. The way the food is being cooked must have changed, because the flavor in the shredded beef isn't there anymore. My order was and had been done incorrectly on a number of occasions. The last time I ordered food, I was told to wait in the bakery for it, and after about more than half an hour I had to go back to the counter too find out that my food to go had been there waiting without anyone servicing me as they served people who came in quite a bit after me.
