Easily the worst tasting Mexican food I have had in over a decade. The Carne Asada was disgusting and literally tasted like some 3 day old Beef Shawarma. Not sure what seasoning they're using in the Asada but it is actually foul. The chicken enchiladas were dry and flavorless. May as well been eating overcooked turkey with no sauce or seasoning. We ordered the nachos and it was the laziest and most basic thing I have ever seen. Basically no cheese, same disgusting Carne asada and a teaspoon of guac with a touch of sour cream. What a slap in the face. And this place was pretty busy which blew my mind. It's almost like they don't even care about the quality or appearance of their food. That all being said the service was awesome. The kid at the register made us feel very welcomed and the art was absolutely gorgeous. If only the food was as good as the art, we would have been in good hands. I have eaten at the many Mexican restaurants in Fort Bragg, let alone across Mendocino County and this is by far the worst I have experienced. Terrible attention to detail, extremely dry food with lack of condiments and by far the worst Carne Asada I have ever tasted. Waste of 50$. Avoid if you care about your money or even more importantly, your appetite. read more

Huge, hit filled with beans, meat and rice, covered with a tomato sauce. Sauce wasn't a true enchilada sauce but was really good. Very disappointed! Visiting from out of town and decided to give this restaurant a try. Ordered several items to go. Person at the counter was rude and didn't seem to care or know what our order was. We were given one bag, which didn't seem like enough for the number of items we ordered. She insisted it was the entire order. Got home and found 5 items missing! We spent a few days in Ft Bragg back in April. The reviews sounded good, so we tried it. Huge dissapointment. Food was mediocre at best. Mine tasted like pepper, as if someone was going to add a pinch, but sneazed and dropped the whole can of pepper in it. My wives didn't have any flavor. No seasoning at all. One of the best places in town for Mexican food. It was crowded so I slid into a seat at the bar. I can't say there is anything not to get on the menu so try everything. I ordered one of today's specials, Quesatacos de Barbacoa . I apologize only one is pictured as my excitement overcame my urge to take its picture. They are the perfect blend of quesadillas and tacos full of flavor with the proper consistency graced by an amazing Au Jus de Sinaloa. A healthy portion of chips and flavorful salsa joined a bean dip created by today's bartender. Last but not least my favorite soda next to an empty glass of tequila. Great environment as I walked in place was very clean and vibrant. It took a few minutes for the server to get to me but it was busy. She brought chips and salsa and the salsa....man the salsa! For the past twelve years, we intended to try this restaurant and finally visited it yesterday. We will definitely return for its delicious food and excellent wait staff service! The decor is in an authentic Mexican style, much like better restaurants in Mexico. Beautiful tile inlays, nice paintings, seating, etc. It was like a pleasant visit on a Sunday. We were immediately served freshly fried chips with a nice, mild salsa that let the tomato and herb flavor come thorough. My wife especially appreciated its mild flavor. For additional heat for us fire-eaters, there were bottles of Habanero-based salsa. I enjoyed the fish tacos which were perfect! They had a light lime sour cream sauce and finely shredded lettuce which perfectly complimented the tasty grilled fish. The beans on the side were a welcome Mexican-style pinto dish and not the usual refried mash - delicious! My wife ordered the enchilada and taco combo, but requested two enchiladas and one taco instead of the one enchilada and two tacos as listed. Her request was pleasantly and unquestionably honored. Wow, and I mean WOW. When did Fort Bragg become heaven? I woke up to a "Yelp Elite" friend calling me asking me "if I would like to head down to Los Gallitos Mexican Restaurant for a quick lunch, and a drink or 2 to wash it down. I couldn't find any reason why not to head down to this "local" favorite. First off, the establishment is beyond clean, and the people working were more than friendly. Second: The food here was excellent, I went with the boneless wings (come in 5 different flavors), and queso-tacos. The queso-tacos were some, if not the best I have had in my life. I recommend that plate to anyone that is wanting to try something delicious. My friend who is a quote "food expert", but in my mind might be a better judge of drinks, and a good time really enjoyed himself and his "boneless" wings they put on the menu for him. My final word on this place is give it a try, and see what locals and tourists from near and far away rave about. Tell them " The Pudding Creek Trestle" sent you. This place was so yummy! The Chile relleno was so yummy and the sauce on top was to die for! We got a few of those and some rice and beans on the side which were perfectly seasoned. The fish tacos were very yummy but there was a gross grey piece of flesh in one of mine, but that happens. I got a BRC also which ended up being a pretty substantial size. They gave us lots of chips on the side for free which was a pleasant surprise. I ordered a Sangria on the side and I was disappointed to find out that it was non alcoholic.
