What a great find! Los Compadres is a hidden gem with a cozy, colorful ambiance that instantly puts you in a festive mood. We started with margaritas--highly recommend the Jalapeño Margarita if you like a spicy kick! The Texas Margarita was bold and smooth, while the Skinny Margarita with mezcal added a nice smoky twist. We kicked things off with the guacamole, which was super fresh and flavorful. For food, we ordered: * Two kids' soft tacos (one chicken, one steak) - perfect portions and very kid-friendly. * Chimichanga - my husband loved it; crispy outside, deliciously filled inside. * Chicken tacos - seasoned well and satisfying without being too heavy. * Chicken soup for our son - warm, hearty, and comforting. This restaurant was good, until it wasn't. I've been going to this restaurant with my family for quite a while. The food 'was' good, the prices 'were' reasonable. Then about 3 months ago, it suddenly changed to a place I can no longer recommend. Suddenly, the food portions were cut in half (yes, literally in half), the food was bland and without seasoning, and the prices remained the same as when the portions were twice as large. Making this an overpriced, tasteless Mexican food restaurant. It was like night and day. Los Compadres went from good food and pricing to bad food and overpriced. I can only guess that it's under new ownership, as it was an immediate and sudden change. We tried going four more times and asked them twice about what happened to the food; but the response was 'these are the only sizes we have' and 'I don't know why there are no spices on the food'. As the food continued to be tasteless and bland, and the portions remain the size of a children's meal, we have opted to try one of the other 62 Mexican restaurants in the area, instead of continuing to waste money on whatever happened to this place. read more

I'm always on the search for good food! I was really craving chilaquiles and did a quick search. I haven't had good chilaquiles since moving out here so I didn't have very high expectations. We were immediately greeted and sat us down the second we entered. My husband ordered the carne asada plate and I ordered steak chilaquiles. I seriously give the chilaquiles 10/10! The flavor was amazing and the best part... it wasn't soggy. I love when my chips are crispy with every bite. My husband loved the steak as well. It was cooked perfectly. They also gave us flan to try and it was delicious! The texture was spot on. I can't wait to bring family with us to try this out. I highly recommend it! read more

When I first arrived it smelt like chlorine, the floor was EXTREMELY greasy, the worst part is when the waiter came to show us our table he said "ok sit down I guess I don't really care" this goes to show HORRIBLE customer service it was crazy, THEN when I went to the restroom there was LITERAL COCKROACH like MAM do you even clean up the place!? It smelt nasty the food tasted dry and nasty like if you left it in a deep fryer with dawn dish soap please make your place NOT nasty read more

I placed an order for takeout today. I ordered a veggie mexican bowl and my husband ordered the carne asada plate and churros. I regret not taking any photos! The food was absolutely tasty, fresh and they had great portions. This is going to be my go to for sure! I definitely recommend it. read more

Went a couple of weeks ago for the first time, the food was good I had a chicken quesadilla it wasn't that big it could have been bigger for the price. Other than that the service was good and so was the food, will go back sometime and try something else. read more

Great service! Waiter was very attentive! Food tasted amazing! I had the mini beef empanadas for an appetizer and the el pastor tacos as my main dish. Sauces were full of flavor and everything was marinated to perfection! Definitely will be coming back! read more

The BEST Mexican food in Cummimg, Ga!!! I had the steak tacos with rice and let me tell you I haven't had any steak tacos this delicious ever!!!! They were served with a side of sauce that was the icing on the cake. My husband had the chicken ranchero and it was also wonderful. The service was friendly and quick! I highly recommend checking this place out as you will not be disappointed. read more

Clean and bright with excellent service. Food was fresh but needed seasoning. Complementary chips and salsa were good but could be improved by warming the chips. Cheese dip was generous but had a thin consistency and was bland--maybe add diced jalapeño? Steak quesadilla was good-thought a $2 charge for extra sour cream was a bit much considering the amount. Street burrito was fine but needed seasoning. The refried beans were very good but I did not enjoy the red rice. Though not on the menu, margaritas are an option-they were tasty and garnished nicely. Note-this restaurant adds a service fee to the bill. read more

One of our favorites places to get tacos. The corn tacos are just so good and heartwarming, makes me feel so relaxed. Their margaritas are good and so is their rice. I have been here several times and am always happy. The establishment is alright, don't need much more, though they did have a leak in the ceiling one time I was there. Service is great, they are always nice and helpful. Chops are good, salsa good. read more

Amazing! We tried this due to the other Yelp reviews and we are so glad we did! Everything was excellent! We had the house margaritas--5*. Their guac is wonderful! Stopped in a little after 2 on a Wednesday. Super clean, greeted as soon as I walked in. Ordered a taco salad with shredded chicken to go. Asked for rice to be added and habeñero salsa on the side. We went for the first time 2 weeks ago and again tonight. Enjoyed the burrito and chicken fajitas very much. Ingredients were bright and chicken was cooked perfectly. The margarita is well made and everything was reasonable priced. Service was excellent. We will definitely be regulars. read more

We've eaten here 3 times now. We've always thought Tacos and Tequilas (restaurant) is the best Mexican in Forsyth; but these guys are a bit better, and a bit less expensive. And they'll make you an excellent breakfast taco (after 11am) if you ask. Getting their alcohol license soon. Closed on Mondays. Nice people. read more

We were quickly seated and overall service was very friendly and accommodating. My margarita was very fresh tasting and the spicy salt rim was delicious. Next time, I will opt for the 16oz compared to the 12 Oz. Tne fresh juices were tasty as well as the flavor option such as tamarind. Chips were crisp and flaky. So much better than other similar places where the chips were inedible and so hard. We requested red salsa that was more like hot sauce. The salsa that accommodated the chips turned put to be salsa Verde and mayo, not our favorite. So when we were asked, we requested a salsa verde option which was the best choice overall. The $2+ cost for endless chips was worth it for me. Hubby requested the shrimp fajitas and I ordered the shrimp Mexicana platter. Good portion sizes even if flavors were not that complex. Homemade corn tortillas were very good. Overall, an enjoyable meal. Looking forward to our next visit!
