Service was out of bounds top notch... food is authentic and delicious... we took a risk and it was well worth it... just go on in and you'll love it.

Atlanta residents who haven't dined at this establishment in Cumming recently or ever should be aware that changes have been made, and a revisit is in order. As frequent diners, my husband and I appreciate the opportunity to converse with the owner when he's present. He often suggests new dishes for us to try, and his food is consistently outstanding. Having been taught by his grandmother at a young age, his love for cooking is unmistakable. The restaurant now offers a from scratch margaritas, homemade tortilla chips with several dip options. My husband selected the Quesabirria, while I opted for the shrimp paella this evening...O M G!!! We absolutely loved, loved this Mexican restaurant which is walking distance from our new home. Very happy about that feature!! Took our daughter and son-in-law whom is always looking for the best Mexican food. Well he was very, very happy eating at Savory!! He couldn't stop saying how delicious everything was. Our margaritas were spot on, not boozy and packed with a well balanced of Tequila and mix. The chips were the "bomb" fried with the tallow they have from making their brisket...delicious! They chips do not come with salsa but we ordered guacamole. The serving size is small, enough for maybe two people who don't over indulge in it. We ordered two orders because we love fresh made guacamole. I did ask if they had some salsa which they were kind to bring me two small cups of tomatillo salsa which was not hot and had a little flavor. And their red sauce which was incredibly hot. Even I who usually can handle heat could not. The rice and beans on our plates were cooked to perfection. The rice nice and moist with a small amount of veggies. The beans just like my Mexican grandmother made them who was an excellent cook. All our food was delicious. Carlos, the owner brought us samples of their pork (just melted in your mouth and packed with flavor), Poblano chili rice (Carlos told us they usually make 4 or 5 different rices daily) and a Cabernet wine (plain and one with a smoked glass). Carlos informed us he carries only the best Tequila also excellent wine choices and their food is freshly made daily. Of course we were asked if we wanted dessert and usually say "no" but of course we had to try it. Warm churros with ice cream- oh to die for. Glad we didn't refuse. Also had the churros with rice pudding and cake which was dense and delicious. Ellie, Carlos's wife was delightful and very sweet who came to talk with us. Our dinner was delicious, delightful, and we left very content, full and super happy to have found a great Mexican restaurant. The restaurant is somewhat small on this inside but can accommodate larger families/groups. There is an outdoor, covered eating area. Parking is shared with the next door Mexican grocery store. Kind of tucked back on Dahlonega so if you are not familiar with the area, chance of passing the parking lot entrance They do have men's and women's separate restrooms which are nice and clean. Definitely worth the visit and I'm sure you'll return!

Without a shadow of a doubt the best Mexican food I've ever had! The food looks exactly like the menu pics. Everything is so delicious and fresh! The chips and cheese are incredible. I had the chicken fajitas and my husband had the steak torta. I'm so excited to go back and try more! The refried beans and rice were surprisingly good too! 12/10! Service was perfect as well. Thank you!

I tried this restaurant out with my girlfriend today. The food came out fast and it was so good. We ordered the carne asada burrito and a horchata (rice pudding water). The food was excellent. Service was very fast. The ambiance is pretty cool. It's like an old-school Mexican restaurant. If I'm in the area, I'll definitely be back.

Omg our new FAVORITE Mexican restaurant!! Their chips and queso are to dieee for. They make most of their stuff homemade and let me tell you - there is such a difference! This is our go to spot now!! We ordered steak tacos, steak fajitas, and they even put together a chicken, rice, and cheese bowl for my daughter. SO GOOD!!

Upon moving into the Cumming area, we were given a $15 coupon so we decided to give them a shot…read more It's nice they are not to far from our new house. Parking is ample being in the large strip mall where T.J. Maxx and Best Buy is located. The restaurant is easily seen from Marketplace Blvd and easy to access. It is quite large inside and nicely decorated. We were greeted at the front and taken to our seats immediately. It was not too busy during our visit which was Sunday evening. The hostess was going to seat us at a table in the bar area but we requested a booth. She then took us into the restaurant. The booth was nice and large, the music was a bit loud but bearable with the exception I enjoy more traditional Mexican music not the new, modern stuff. Loved the Mexican decor plus the blue lights which illuminated through the wall decor. This is why all my pics have a blue hue to them. lol. The margarita choices were many but being a traditionalist, both my husband and I chose the original. His being a 20 oz and mine being a Skinny Margarita which only comes in one size. We felt for the sizes & quality, the prices were fair. In fact my skinny margarita was very good and I consider myself a margarita snob. lol We opted to order guacamole and felt it was a bit pricey for the amount, but know avocados are expensive. However it was yummy, chunky and somewhat tasty. The salsa was favorable and not spicy hot and the chips were good and a bit warm. My husband and I shared a combo plate: one chicken enchilada, one shredded chicken taco with rice and beans. Being from California where you find the best Mexican food and enjoy fresh shredded cheese on all Mexican food, I was so excited & impressed to see shredded cheese on top and not queso. Lots of chicken in our soft taco and somewhat tasty. The rice comes with some veggies but yummy and the beans were homemade style. One plate was plenty to share and we enjoyed it. We felt the price for our plate at $12 was awesome. In California we had our favorite Mexican restaurant and this restaurant is very comparable to it which makes us happy. One unfortunate thing was our food could have been hotter, temp wise. Our server was hopping as she took care Of many tables so I suppose it contributed to her lackluster in service. Hence why I only gave 4*.

I had the shrimp tacos. Tasty could use more kick as well. The menu said pico de gallo, but it was served with cabbage I think. Still decent tacos, and it comes with three. Tulum margarita was tasty and strong, would get again. Swirl soft serve margarita was sweet and tasted like strawberry and mango but wasn't strong. Glad I had the Tulum margarita with it but did cost a lot. Overall, cool place. Love the decorations and service was fine. Didn't take long for us to be seated inside after requesting it. He suggested it, and I live about 5 miles away so I was happy to try it! Plenty of parking in this giant shopping area, no issues at all getting seated for lunch. I was seated first, and Areagna was awesome as a server. Checking in to see what I needed, chips and salsa hit the table- and she was fast and friendly! My colleague ordered the Camarones à la Diabla, I ordered the huevos y chorizo with flour tortillas. We also started with queso with ground beef. It was all I could do not to inhale the queso! A small is still a great portion, and if I knew I was going to love it I should've gotten the large! Great food, great service, really fast for lunch. I can see myself showing up here alone one day to just get my fix of margaritas and queso lol. Support small owned businesses!
