So glad I finally tried it!!!! Fresh, quality ingredients you can taste. Friendly and efficient customer service. Definitely recommend and will be back...often!

I got the green tamale, chorizo tacos to cheese, and al pastor taco with cheese. The tamale flavor was alright but the green salsa on the side was great with it! The tamale texture WAS AWESOME! Fluffiest tamale ever! Just a lil smaller than I was used to but seriously loved it. The tacos were on the greasier side but the flavor depth was incredible!! I could tell the employee was just all around good vibes and I appreciated his attitude! The whole place had lots of Mexican candy including sour gushers if you are into that. Would def come back. Great hidden gem in dawsonville!

We came here based off reviews and were a little thrown off by the hidden location and lack of tables. The worker there who was the cashier and only team member we could see explained they were strictly a take out restaurant and had no places to eat at the restaurant. There weren't even any trash cans inside or out which meant they were strictly serving food for take out only and customers would have to eat elsewhere or in their car and throw away the trash at home or a gas station or in our case, car wash. We ordered tacos (steak and pastor) a torta and chips and guacamole and two small horchatas. The food and drink were solid - very fresh and simply put outstanding. I could see why they had good reviews and my wife and I were very happy about our choice for lunch. The salsas they served with our entrees were great as well. The guacamole was wonderful and tasted freshly made. Parking is pretty simple and this restaurant is a fantastic choice if you are shopping at the 400 outlet mall aka North Georgia Premium Outlets. 5 stars and a muchas gracias!

First time trying Takoz Express and the food was decent. I prefer more seasoning. The tacos are a bit expensive, but you get a lot of meat in them. Not sure if I was actually given extra cilantro and onions like I asked for. The limes should be bigger, as you get one small lime per taco and I could barely squeeze any juice out of a few of them. I paid .50 for extra limes not realizing that they were so small. Overall, I would try this restaurant again.

My wife came home from work on Tuesday and said they had ordered their lunch from an AMAZING Mexican Restaurant. She insisted we go and try it out on Wednesday since she was off work and it would be good for lunch. I was skeptical, but we drove to Industrial Dr and Lumpkin Campground Rd intersection at 12:55 PM and found Takoz. It is well hidden, beside Gilstrap and facing Industrial Dr on the side of the building in an industrial area. As often as I have passed this building, I have never known it was there. I would not have found this hidden gem if I had not been looking. Being an industrial park, parking was limited, but we found a space and walked inside. It immediately reminded me of many of the small mom-and-pop restaurants I visited as a child living in Miami, Florida. If you are looking for elegance and a seating area, this is not for you, but if you are looking for hole-in-the-wall authentic Mexican food prepared fresh to order, then you will LOVE Takoz Express. The lady working the front counter was super friendly and helpful and took our order shortly after we arrived. I ordered one each of the Steak, Chorizo, Grilled Chicken, and Pork soft Tacos. My wife ordered two Steak Tacos, a side order of homemade warm chips, and a large Guacamole that was freshly made at the restaurant. Our eyes were larger than our stomachs. I ate two of my Tacos and a few chips and was full. I had to save the other two for my lunch today. The Tacos are authentic street Tacos with a generous serving of meat topped with onion and cilantro in your choice of a warm flour tortilla or two corn tortillas. All the meats I tried were seasoned and cooked to perfection with generous portions. The Guacamole was amazing, the only problem is once you taste it, you have a hard time stopping. On top of an absolutely incredible meal, I also received a 5% off coupon for our meals after checking in on the Yelp app. If you are looking for a filling, authentic meal at a very reasonable price, topped off with great customer service, this is where you want to come. I was amazed to find genuine, authentic Mexican cuisine in Dawsonville. This is our new favorite place for a snack or a meal. We will see you on Yelp and see you at Takoz Express.

Takoz Express is near North Georgia Premium Outlets, and we went there for some tacos at the end of July. It's in a very tiny strip mall, and parking, which is free, is very limited. We walked into the little store, and the employee called out "Hola!" to us, and said that she'd be with us soon to take our orders, but she was getting take out orders ready for other customers who previously ordered in person or by phone. This is a little shop, and eating onsite was not allowed. In fact, there aren't any tables inside or outside to dine at. A little cluttered inside, the store was still clean. They have refrigerators in the queue/waiting area that holds cold drinks, and customers need to pay for their drinks first. The order counter has a menu with the prices of tacos based on the type of meat chosen, and a list of type of meats available. I counted eleven different types of meats, which is the most that I've ever seen. Takoz Express even sells a veggie taco. I ordered three pastor tacos with corn tortillas and R ordered three carnitas tacos with corn tortillas. We also each got a bottle of Jarritos; I got lima (lime), R got pina (pineapple). We didn't have to wait very long; the woman at the order counter was very quick (even though she was also taking orders that were called in) and the kitchen staff did a great job keeping up with her. We got into the car and I drove to the North Georgia Premium Outlets and parked in the parking lot under a tree so we could eat in the car. Each of the tacos had two corn tortillas, a wedge of lime, and, in addition to the meat in them, cilantro and onions. Each order came with a small cup of green sauce which was wonderfully spicy hot! The pastor meat had good flavor and was marinaded well. R said that his carnitas were good. Delicious, quick, inexpensive - good experience!

My wife and I were in the area doing some outlet shopping at North Georgia Premium Outlets, when we got super hungry and stumbled upon Takoz Express. The Parking: Free parking. The Atmosphere: Pick up only! No indoor or outdoor seating, but we were so hungry, we ate in the car in the parking lot. Lol. The Service: The young lady was very nice! The Food: I ordered the following tacos: - Steak ($2.50) - Grilled Chicken ($2.25) - Barbacoa ($2.89) - Al Pastor ($2.25) I ordered a Chorizo as well, but she didn't hear me....which was a bummer, because I wanted to try it and didn't realize it until much later into the meal. I didn't want to go back inside to order another taco, just to have to wait again. The tacos tasted very good and fresh! Lots of onions & cilantro, which is the best! Overall, the tacos were really good. If I'm ever in the area again to do some shopping, I'll definitely swing back by.

Where you order when you walk in

This place was a hole in the wall next to the outlets. The food was very authentic and delicious. The only downside is that it is to go only and no seating inside so you can't quite go shopping and sit down to eat in the establishment, But you can sit and eat in your car in the parking lot which is what we did!!

Definitely a TAKE OUT place. I ordered a Chorizo Taco and was pleasantly surprised at the quality and size of it. The girl behind the counter ws friendly and courteous. It's a little challenging to find unless you know it's there, but don't give up.

This is what a chile relleno is: Chile relleno translates to "stuffed chili pepper" in Spanish, originating from Puebla, Mexico, as a dish consisting of a roasted pepper--typically a mild poblano--stuffed with cheese (or meat), dipped in egg batter, and fried. It is often served covered in a tomato-based salsa, offering a savory mix of melted cheese and crispy coating It is not traditional to use bell peppers for chile rellenos, as the dish is historically and fundamentally defined by using specific chile varieties. The most common and authentic choice is the poblano pepper, though Anaheim or Hatch chiles are also frequently used due to their similar size, shape, and ability to hold a filling. While you can use bell peppers as a substitute--especially if you want to avoid heat or cannot find traditional chiles--the resulting dish will differ significantly in flavor and texture. Unlike the thin-skinned, mildly spicy, and earthy poblano, bell peppers are thick-walled, sweet, and lack that characteristic "chile" flavor. If you choose to use them, consider roasting and peeling them first to improve their texture, as you would with a traditional poblano.

It was way too watery and had virtually no flavor on its own. Thankfully, I said yes to the jalapenos, so it had some flavor but not enough to make up for the watery texture. Cheese dip should be creamy, not watery. The chips were crispy and the salsa was good. My husband's margarita was tasty. I had the cheese quesadilla, which was good. I wish they had added a bit more guacamole and sour cream on the side as the dollop of each was too small to enjoy with the whole quesadilla. The guacamole was fresh and tasted like it had been made in-house but I wish there had been just a tad more of it given. My husband had the plantains, which is a strange thing to see on the menu for a Mexican restaurant but he was happy about it and enjoyed them. Overall, this was better than the other Mexican restaurant we tried in town and I likely would have given it 4 stars rather than 3 if they had gotten the cheese dip right. We would consider returning if we were in town again, so if you are around, it might be worth a try though I would recommend skipping the cheese dip.
