Los Rios Review!!!!! We love this Mexican restaurant, we come here at least once a week with and without the boys. Some of the bartenders and servers know us. Mayra & Karen are the best!!! We ALWAYS have a good time and the food is delicious. Tonight, there was an uncomfortable incident with a patron who was not happy that Damian and I sat at the bar after waiting for over 20 minutes. They were nowhere near us. The man just came insulting Damian, calling him an A-hole and more. I'm so proud of my husband to be able to control his temper. Heard great things about Los Rios from Cumming locals, so had to try it for myself. Hubs and I went for lunch on a weekday. The place was busy but we were seated right away. Space is big with plenty of seating but none outdoor. We started with queso with jalapeños. After finding out they only has tilapia as their fish option, I went with the shrimp fajitas. The portion was very generous, including the sides and the flavor was good. I had plenty of leftovers to take home. I think my husband ordered a steak enchilada and devoured all of it. Service was fast and friendly. Our server checked on us numerous times and kept our glasses full. Well. I hate to write a review like this about Los Rios, but I had enough. I've been going there weekly for years and the price has always been great. And I don't mind the prices they have now as they are still the cheapest and you can feed a family for a lot less than other places. The service is always fast and efficient. But for the last year I have noticed that when I order things I get billed for different, especially for drinks. There have been some moments this year that we have ordered 16oz margaritas for my wife and she gets a 20oz. I thought maybe she was wrong and she just didn't remember what she ordered. But this time I made it a point to order her the 16oz and this time we received the 16oz size, but when I went to pay they charged me for 20oz. I told the new cashier that the 20oz is not correct, he asked to wait a second and get the manager. Now if you have ever been in this place for dinner you know there is a long line waiting to pay. So I told the young man, don't worry about it just keep it the way it is I will just pay the extra 2 dollars to keep from being an inconvenience to everyone else. He would not let me and he wanted to wait for the manager or whoever it was that came up. When this gentleman came up he talks loudly to the cashier and says "they ordered a 20oz but just go ahead and charge them for a 16 and the three the receipt across his counter. I guess since they opened their new location they think they do not need my business anymore. And that is fine. But it's disappointing that we were treated like that as I really liked a few of the folks that work there. I will not be back. read more

I was out last weekend with friends. We wanted to get some margaritas, and since I'm relatively new to the area I googled "best margaritas in Cumming, GA". Los Rios came up. I called for a reservation and found out that it was pretty easy to get a table, even on a Saturday night at 6:30. When we showed up, the wait was about 30 minutes. Not the worst, but definitely doable. They turn tables quickly here, and they were right on the nose when we were seated. We had a few margaritas, and I think there was some confusion on size and types- but either way everyone was pretty happy with the drinks. I could have kept going but I was driving. The food- very tasty. I had ordered queso and each person received a small bowl so they could have some salsa with the freshly made tortilla chips. I had jalapeños in the cheese and it definitely had a kick! My meal was a triple combination, the most memorable part of my meal was that I upgraded to deluxe and received a healthy portion of guac and sour cream with my platter. I did really enjoy the food, the drinks and service was good- we tried a couple of the hot sauces, and one was not super hot (more like a verde sauce) but the HOT sauce they brought definitely brought the HEAT! Parking is pretty plentiful here, and it was worth the stop here. You're going to get a decent meal, no one will go hungry- and if you like margaritas you have plenty of options to choose from. Four people, with at least two margs each---- with dinner and a decent tip was about $130. I thought it was reasonable, I don't need super fancy and I don't want anything that's fancied up beyond what I would want to enjoy. Support small businesses. The authentic Mexican Restaurant at Exit 14 ...that's where I ask to go when I crave Mexican food. Simple and good. Good and inexpensive. Fast and professional service. Los Rios it's always busy but you never wait too long thanks to the kitchen ran perfectly, and the wait stuff being on top of it! They never disappoint me. Their salsa is perfect, mild and fresh. We normally eat burritos and chimichanga! I love ground beef chimichanga! Next time I will ask to have it topped with their queso just like they do with burritos. Their sodas are also very good. The place was packed and there was a line of people waiting so we were hopeful that it was going to be good. That hope quickly faded with the first sip of my skinny margarita. Oh my goodness it was terrible. I should have asked them to redo it as just a regular one but I hate to send stuff back, so I sucked it down... but I had to eat a piece of chip after every sip. That. Bad. The food was just mediocre, but there was a lot of food for the price. So if you aren't worried about taste and more about quantity, then this could be your place. I got the steak fajita... if you are going to order this, tell them no tomatoes. Just my opinion, but they made it taste weird. My husband got the Carne asada. He said it was good, and it was a big piece of steak. He was happy. I do like the chips and salsa. Just the right amount of heat and the chips are crunchy and flavorful. Unfortunately, the good did not outweigh the bad on our first dining experience at Los Rios, and I don't think we will be returning. Maybe we will, but I don't see it in the foreseeable future. This probably the best place in forsyth county. Everyone I know loves this place. The things you should expect are cheap prices, fast service, and pretty good food. I will say the food isn't like Michelin star but it is still really good especially for the price. You won't be disappointed with this place, and if you are then you didn't pay much anyways. I will generally go and eat a half portion of fajita nachos and leave full. It also costs like $6 for the half and $10 for the full size. read more
