Ordered the deep fried tacos (hard to find east of Texas and New Mexico) and they looked great. Unfortunately the beef was bland and they were drowning in sour cream, way too much. Others need to know about this great little place in downtown Dawsonville. " We walked in as they were shutting down lunch and we were the only clients there. They made us feel welcome, tolerated my broken attempts at Spanish conversation, and refilled chip after chip bowl as we ate. They never made us feel rushed even though we were the gringo $ss8@les keeping them from taking a break. Everybody enjoyed their meals- my friends got the chorizo pollo dish while I got the delicious vaqueros (2 burritos) special that they recommended. The food was a bit salty but that's to be expected sometimes with this genre and the cheesy-savoryness embedded in my dish. The Corona-Ritas were huge and tasty and washed it down nicely. I had one other beer and the total was only around $25. Given the portions and authenticity I think you'll find it hard to beat value wise anywhere around town. Would recommend to others.

After seated we looked over the menu and enjoyed chips and salsa that wasn't very spicy or seasoned. We ordered after an extended period and when our food arrived it tasted ok but lacked seasoning or spices cooked with our beef or chicken. We only ate about half our food and was ready to leave and had another long wait until our server returned with our check. I have heard people compliment this restaurant but there are other Mexican restaurants nearby that offer better food and service so we will not be returning any time soon. Sorry but this experience didn't impress.

My husband and I just wanted to share a couple things so we went with some tacos, and some dumplings from the place next to it. We ordered the 6 taco platter with al pastor, steak, chorizo, and shrimp tacos. Although it does say "street tacos" in the menu, they're definitely on the smaller side, and for $18 not really sure if it is worth it. This platter is also serve with a tray of different salsas and chips which was nice. The taste is pretty good id just wish their portions were a little bigger, other than that it's a good spot at the Halcyon. The food is always fresh and hot and service is super quick! Perfect quick lunch spot for sure!

The server warned us the plates were hot vs letting us get burned like some places do. The chicken nachos were shredded the way my niece likes but did need more chips. Overall we would go back. Bad: it was way too cold inside (had to go get a jacket from the car). They do not have a drink menu (never seen that and I've been to 100s of Mexican restaurants). The menus smelled horrible like they were cleaned with mildew rags giving the entire table area a bad smell. The cheese dip is very runny, but tasted fine.
