This is my go to for cheap chicken tacos on delivery apps. The food is decent. I wouldn't experiment with the menu too much here. I order the chicken/beef tacos and they never disappoint. The refried beans are decent, everything else is really hit or miss. Stick to what works - beef or chicken tacos and you can't go wrong. Only downside about this place is they're stingy with their salsa. If you order six tacos you might get 3 small sauces. Very annoying read more

they up charged me, I ordered one horchata, and they charged me for 2 when they refilled it, they did not inform me it would be upcharge, what do I look like spending $7 on horchata, and the server teresa was very rude. also when we ordered the cheese dip, she asked if we would like jalapeño in the dip , we said yes, she then brings out dip with no jalapenos, when we say something she takes it back and it's put in a new container and it looks as if she just took the same cheese dip and put jalapeño in it and poured it into a new dish. anyways, Teresa was a very bad server and therefore I hope management sees this and documents it as I assume this is not the first incidnt anyone who goes here please becareful and check your receipt read more

We stumbled upon this restaurant after visiting Tiny Towne located right next door in the same shopping center. What caught my eye was the kids eat free sign on weekdays on the restaurant window. I thought to myself, why not give it a shot! So we did. The first thing I noticed is that there is no hostess stand. We just stood around for a few minutes waiting on someone to seat us. I even walked around a little bit looking for someone to tell us what we should do. I finally asked a waitress if we should seat ourselves, and she said yes. It would be nice if they had a sign at the entrance saying "Please seat yourselves" instead of having people stand around not sure what to do. The menu has a lot of options, but not a lot of good options on the kids menu. I ended up ordering the chicken fingers and fries for my kid. Take a look at the pictures, but the chicken fingers looked nothing like chicken fingers. Even my son was questioning what it was, and I had to take a bite to ensure him it was in fact what we ordered. I went with the Enchiladas Mexicanas. With that, you get to choose between a couple of fillings and sauces. I went with pollo (chicken) and verdes (green) sauce. The entree also comes with rice and beans. The enchiladas were ok, but I didn't like the green sauce and certainly wouldn't order it again. We got some chips at our table a while after we placed our order and after giving up thinking we wouldn't get any at this Mexican restaurant. And it was a while longer before we got the salsa, after thinking it was odd that we only got chips, which did not taste good at all. It was one of the rare occasions where we left most of the chips and salsa untouched. Usually I'm a huge fan and almost always want extras. Service was pretty slow on this day. It looked like there were two waitresses, but we didn't see much of them during our lunch. And as I mentioned, it took a long time to be seated, although now we know why. But it was also odd that they ignored us when we walked through the doors looking confused. Overall, I hate giving one star for any reviews, but little went right on this visit, which is a shame because of all the other positive reviews I have read. read more

I was actually looking for another taco place a few hundred yards away but when I got there I saw it was closed and it appeared to have bitten the dust. So a few hundred yards away I see Mega Taco. Ok, why not! It was lunchtime and the parking lot was pretty empty as many of the stores had shut down, so tons of parting out front. There was about 15 cars and all of them were in Mega Taco. I was greeted as I walked in, could sit at any open table and waitress service was very good. Menu was extensive, but I just ordered 3 tacos and one sope. All 4 items were better than the Atlanta norm. The waitress brought 2 fresh salas in addition to the usuals on the table. Size and flavor of all items good. The sope was rajas, which are strips of roasted poblano pepper I was pleased with everything, and would go back. read more

When I moved from California to Georgia, I was terrified that I might never be able to find a truly amazing Mexican restaurant. My husband and I tried a few upon our arrival and were disappointed. We found Mega Taco via our Entertainment Book and thought we would try just one more. AMAZING! WONDERFUL! FABULOUS! SPECTACULAR! Throughout the entire meal I couldn't stop saying, "I am so in love with this food right now!" Awesome. Felt so good to finally say that! We both ordered fajitas. There are several kinds, and all are $10 or less ($8 for both chicken and beef. You pay the big bucks - $10 - for shrimp). I would say you are getting at least a pound or a pound and a half of fajita deliciousness. The homemade tortillas were not my favorite (I love them at Papasitos in Marietta), but for the price they were great. It is true what other reviewers say, this place is in a Hispanic part of town, which I loved. Telenovelas are on tv...all of it is great. You just have to try it. And if you have an Entertainment Book, two people can eat for less than $10! Our bill was $8.48 for two huge fajita platters. We both had to take food home. No here's the deal. Compared to the best Mexican food I've ever had...this is good. Not knock my socks off would be my first choice ever kind of a place. BUT - moving in the right direction. This is sort of unrelated, but gas in this part of town was about $.25-30 cents cheaper than by our house. So you can eat cheap, stock up at the grocery store and fill up your car. Excellent taco joint!! Authentic handmade corn tortillas. The Al Pastor tacos are my favorite. The chilaquiles here are also pretty good. They came with queso fresco which highlights their authenticity. Their menu is pretty expansive but the tacos are my favorite. Definitely recommend. read more

I ordered a burrito & a quesadilla combo. Quesadilla was super oily and soggy in oil, sauce and melted cheese. I could not pick up my quesadilla up to eat. Super sloppy made. Rice was so hard n dry. Beans were cold and dry. Burrito was super soggy also. Could not pick up burrito without it being ripped and falling apart. The workers hardly spoke English. Menu was not clearly stated of what will be the inside the burrito. Menu stayed that the burrito comes with rice, bean, wrapped up with melted cheese. The food was good and I like it but the people who works there are horrible and not honest. They gave me the wrong order then I called and I offered to return the food but they said the store is closed so They told me next time, we will give ya free order which is fine with me since they don't want to refund my money. I called after a week which I was close to them and they didn't even want to make my order so I stopped and the older lady was rude and not professional even though they remembered my face and what happened but they ignored. I'm looking forward to updating this review. Because the food we got for our take-out order was very good. For instance, my sampling of pastor, pollo, and asada tacos was really outstanding. But of the four different orders we placed, they made mistakes on two of them. I know that taking phone orders is not always an ideal way to communicate, but two out of four orders seems a bit much to me. And the stink eye they provided on pick-up gave me pause, too. My coworkers and I pick up lunch from here whenever craving tacos and chicken soup. Everything has been delicious. I always get the guacamole with my chicken soup (large). It so filling and the taste is on point every time. I'm used to the soup being too salty most times, but they make it perfectly every single time. The customer service is always great as well. I've never dined in, we usually just pick-up our food and eat it at the office. They are usually very quick and offer free chips and salsa with your to-go meal! 20 degrees outside. Warm and cozy inside of Mega Taco. A telenovela on the tube and service so friendly that I really wanted to like the food. We ordered three tacos on corn tortillas (asada, fish and pork) and a burrito special with steak, rice and refried beans. Each taco included one corn tortilla unlike the double layer you will find at Don Pedro. The fish was tender, but the steak was a tad overcooked for my taste. The tacos were barely dressed with onions and cilantro, so adding sauce will boost the flavor. The burrito special offers a large serving for the price, but altogether the queso made the dish too salty and unbalanced. I believe in second chances. More to come! read more

Checked out this place today based on great reviews and a recommendation from a friend. Food was super quick. I got 3 tacos: 2 pollo and 1 camarones with rice and beans. The tacos were of a nice size and was topped with cilantro, onions and verde salsa. The rice and beans were of HUGE proportions. I thought I would be able to finish it all because i was so hungry but I'm embarassed to say that I couldn't finish everything! Yay for leftovers! On a mission to Duluth, we ended up here because we were starving and apparently people think it's best to crash while construction is going on..this is a great way to escape to eat yourself into a food coma and then take surface roads! So, if you're coming from Indian Trail Road, do not make fun of someone trying to make an illegal left turn into the shopping center right before the light at Beaver Ruin Road. This is where Mega Taco is. If you turn at the light, you're going to have to go further down and then make a u turn and come all the way back. The music in here is loud. It feels like a party even though everyone is sitting at a table eating quietly. Sometimes a song from the jukebox is playing so the music videos playing on the TVs don't match and it looks hilarious. I wanted fajitas, and oh boy did I get fajitas for two people. You know how most places charge upwards of $12 for a plate of chicken and beef fajitas? Here you get more than those places, and it's $8. And you get the choice of corn or flour tortillas. Fajitas taste so much better with corn tortillas. If one person can eat an entire plate of these, I would be seriously amazed. If you can't speak Spanish due to wanting to change everything into Italian or French if you were to stop reading and try speaking, most everything on the menu comes with the English translation and the servers speak English perfectly well for all essential communication, so it's really not a problem. This is a hole-in-the-wall establishment in a shopping center that is devoid of any anchor stores but is the home of a kid's place called Tiny Towne. Don't let the desolate shopping center give you pause cause this place is about as authentic as you can get Mexican. Now I have been to a few local Mom & Pop Mexican food establishments that are most definitely spots that begrudgingly tolerate a gringo coming in to dine however the Mega Taco was pleasantly open to all without any attitude. The staff was friendly, polite, and attentive despite a moderate sized crowd already gathered inside. The menu is typical Mexican traditional and AmeriMex blend so someone that hasn't seen real gorditas or tostadas outside of Taco Bell will be in for a raised eyebrow or two. The prices are comparable for the area and even cheap in some respects at $1.50 a taco with your choice of: steak, pork, chicken, tongue, or head. Yea, traditional like I said. I went with the good-to judge dish fajitas. They have the traditional list: steak, chicken, shrimp although they offer both chicken and steak with shrimp, OR all three together which is pretty neat I opted for steak and shrimp. The dish came out piping hot, sizzling red and green bell peppers, mushrooms, white and red onions, topped with a pile of sliced flank steak and half a dozen sizable shrimp. You had your choice of corn or flour tortillas, I had corn, which arrived almost to hot to handle. A side plate of rice, beans, and typical taco addons accompanied the dish as well: tomato, lettuce, guacamole, and sour cream. The corn tortillas appeared to be hand pressed as they didn't have the grainy texture of off the shelf ones which was a pleasant surprise to say the least. Everything was cooked well and still juicy and pretty tender for flank steak. I'd like to make a note for the kids meals as they were pretty cheap at $3/$3.50 I didn't expect much however the Burrito/Taco meal is literally a full sized 10 inch burrito and taco which for a kid under 12 is a heap of food. The chicken fingers were also scratch made using some sort of flour/cornmeal seasoned batter. They were delicious and another surprise from this seemingly off the beaten path establishment. The interior is clean, somewhat worn, and there are TVs running sports. I gathered that there were some die hard locals that turn the place into a little party area on occasion but they were not rowdy or annoying on a Saturday afternoon but by the evening if they kept pounding the very hefty stein sized glasses of cerveza that might change a bit. While this place impressed me it is definitely not for the fru-fru or picky diner as it is a no non-sense Mom & Pop focused on making good food for a decent price over giving you a dining experience alone. If you want great Mexican food, with a variety of both authentic and American-Style Mexican food, this is the place to go. They have both types of food, and everything I have tasted is yummy. I am more of an "American-style Mexican" food girl, so I usually get the safe bets, tacos or nachos. I have taken my fiance, co-workers, anyone I can convince to try it. When I took my boss he was wondering what kind of place this was and thinking it was a mistake to take my suggestion ... until he ate the food. Everything is MEGA here, they will serve you more than enough. I can share my Steak Nachos with my fiance and we will both be full. The cheese/nacho sauce is TO DIE FOR, and they also put it on the "Burrito Especial" and other menu items. The prices are ridiculously low for the amount of food you receive and the quality. It is kind of a dive, so it would probably not be a place most people would go to. I feel pretty comfortable going to any Mexican restaurant because I'm Puerto Rican, so I generally don't fear other Hispanic "dives," but there should be no fear you will get "shanked" like a previous reviewer wrote. Everyone is nice, including the waitresses, and while the clientele is 75% Hispanic, I have seen every type of person from business execs to humble landscapers eating there. Really consistently quality restaurant. Cheap...yet attention to detail is taken, for example their green salsa with roasted tomatillos, fresh jalapenos and cilantro, balancing smoky, salty, vinegary, spicy, herbal flavors perfectly. The best salsa I've had, and it's complimentary with free chips as well. The red salsa is also bright, fresh, and flavorful consistently. The horchata is the best I've had as well, and I've had many. The tacos are large, served with grilled white onions as opposed to raw chopped onions, cilantro, radish, and a lime wedge. The portions are large and the meat is carefully prepared, at times the Al Pastor will be a bit greasy, but is always perfectly seasoned and nicely charred without being overcooked. The carnitas is a standout here as well, extremely flavorful. The chicken is good, I believe there is a shredded chicken option I've yet to try. The carne asada is also quite tasty and well prepared. At $1.50 per taco, this level of quality and flavor is very difficult to beat, and while El Indio across the street's are merely a dollar, the difference in the quality is substantial. The service is pretty good, the waitresses are always nice, you might have to track them down though after you've been served though. The menu is large, the soups looked delicious as well, quesadillas are cheap and filling for around $3.99, tortas, molcajete filled with various things, and a grilled pineapple stuffed with cheese, octopus, fish, chicken and other things... As a fan of the torta (Mexican sandwich) I tried this place after reading about the 'Mega torta' being featured in the Creating Loafing's '100 Dishes to Eat Before You Die.' As a torta fan, I always try Pastore as my baseline to compare establishments. Although the torta here was HUGE, it was average at best, and in no way equals the best torta experince of Taqueria Oxaquena, in my opinion. Thankfully, along with my torta, I also ordered a chorizo taco. Their tacos, with homemade tortillas, are some of the best Atlanta has to offer. I've visited a number of times to try some other tacos, and they all are fantastic. FINALLY! An authentic Mexican taco joint that I LIKED! Great prices, fast friendly service and DELICIOUS tacos. I had both my drink and entree ordered within a minute of sitting down, my entree was at my table in maybe a few minutes tops. The waitresses(attractive I might add) spoke perfect English and were able to explain a few things to me. Free chips and salsa of course. Chips were hot fresh crispy and unbroken. Salsa was nothing to rave about, decently spicy though. Also was brought out verde and ranchero(i think?) sauces. Ordered the cabeza(head meat), lengua(tounge) and tripe(stomach/intestine) tacos. All of which came with plenty of cilantro and sauteed onions on them on freshly made corn tortillas. I put the ranchero sauce and lots of lime on all 3, which seemed to work very well considering i thought the ranchero tasted a little strange by itself. Definitely use the lime with it, ask for extra limes if needed. The cabeza was like a super tender pot roast. The Lengua was very soft and flavorful, not chewy at all. The tripe however, wasn't what I expected, being that I had only had tripe in Vietnamese Pho before, and this resembled chitlins more than the pho tripe. Very chewy, still had a little bit of a barnyard taste to them. At her next visit to my table, she noticed I barely made it halfway through the tripe taco, and recommended next time I should ask for it fried extra crispy. I agreed, and ordered a pastor pork taco, which was very smokey flavored and also super tender. Ranchero sauce and lime on this one as well, mmm. I left mega taco mega-stuffed. Including my tip, I came out with a total of $10.00. For 4 big tacos, a 20oz sprite, chips and salsa, and the extra sauces, plus the excellent service, I would say that is $10 well spent. The most expensive item on the menu is $12.00 and nothing on the kids menu is over $4.00. I will definitely be returning to try more of the menu. 5 Stars! read more

The chilaquiles plate / menu item here is fantastic; definitely the thing to order. It is a huge plate of food! Perhaps these chilaquiles are the best I have ever had. You choose your style of eggs, color of sauce (red or green), and chicken or beef. Service can be a bit slow and inconsistent; however, the waitresses are nice.
