I used to come to this restaurant right when it opened. It was great experience. Since that time you can see it's got little used up. Overal still good quality food. Service can be little better. Food was nothing amazing. Same Mexican food on the menu as every other Mexican restaurant I've been to in my life. Chips and salsa were quickly delivered and our drink orders were taken right as we sat down. The chips weren't very salty and I was disappointed when I tasted the salsa because it didn't have any spice or bite to it. To be honest it tasted like chopped up VERY watery tomatoes and cilantro. I had a #13 lunch special which was a steak/grilled onion burrito with cheese sauce and rice/beans. Steak was a little chewy and the burrito was smothered in white cheese sauce. "Mexican" rice tasted like it was white rice sprinkled with taco seasoning and the refried beans were bland. All in all I wouldn't go out of my way to revisit this place if I'm ever back in town. read more

Great spot to get a beer and a burrito before a long night bowling over at Stars and Strikes. So, far both times I've been here they've had great drink specials. The first time they were offering a 32oz draft for $3.99 and the second time they had margaritas for $1.99 (margaritas came in a rock glass, but still a pretty good deal). The second time I opted to try the Burrito California (I believe that's what it was called), anyway, it was delicious! Filled with steak, chicken, and shrimp with a nice smothering of queso. It was excellent! I would highly recommend this place especially if you're looking for a place to grab a bit before heading over to Stars and Strikes. This place is quickly rising in the ranks and becoming my bowling league pre-match dinner spot. read more

We stopped in here for a quick lunch on the way to the UGA game. Pretty nice spot, and the menu is rather expansive. I got the Parrillada Mexicana, which are basically souped-up fajitas (there's a redneck term describing Mexican food... 'Merica). The salsa is good. My mom has been looking for a place for months to get some good ol' fashion nachos. You know the ones with lots of American and/or Chedder cheese (or the Mexican blend from the store), refried beans, jalepenos, olives and salsa. We have tried several places around the area and all the places use melted Queso. Gross! I mean why would you go into a restaurant and want "nacho" cheese like we're in the grammar school lunch line or at the movie theater? Nonetheless, after talking to the waitress, Yvette, she explained that it's more of a TexMex version of nachos. I'm used to the way restaurants make them in California, Michigan, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, DC, Florida and quite frankly many other places around the world. LOL We opted to try some of the more traditional selections on the menu vs. the queso nachos. And between my brother, mother and I...we were all extremely satisfied with the food. As with most traditional Mexican restaurants we were given chips and salsa while we looked through the menu. The chips tasted like they were freshly made and the salsa was VERY good. Just the right amount of sauce and chunkiness with the right chip :D. I swear we went through 3 baskets of chips and 5 bowls of salsa LOL. The portions are large, tasty and filling. And the price to value was excellent. The hostess didn't seem too welcoming, but our waitress, Yvette, was AWESOME! She made sure our drinks were filled and that we had exactly what we needed the entire time. I always appreciate when servers check on my party "just enough", make sure we have drinks, but not pressuring or hovering around so that we can't enjoy our time together. It was a perfect Sunday night dinner option for my family. We didn't get libations this visit (I'm still recovering), but with the great menu and music options on the weekend, me and my brother will definitely visit again. read more

This place was a good new find en route to Athens for a Georgia game. We typically tailgate, but due to work obligations, we found ourselves heading to the game with only enough time to grab a bite on the way. The salsa was pretty tasty - fresh and had a little bite to it. There were plenty of choices on the menu, including enough options for vegetarians. We ventured in at an odd hour (maybe 3 or 4ish) so we were promptly greeted and easily seated right away. Service was fast with drinks, chips, and taking our order, however when it came time for the bill, we waited forever. We finally had to ask to ensure we weren't late to the game. My wife had a chimichanga that was STUFFED with chicken. I had a 2 item combo with an enchilada and burrito. I'm picky about my Spanish rice but was pleasantly surprised. We got the kids shrimp for our daughter but I ate most of it. I'm from the gulf coast and grew up on seafood. The shrimp were clean and had great flavor. If the rest of their seafood is this good, it's better than a lot of seafood places I've gone to. I'll put 5 stars if I get really good drinks here, but right now it's noon. read more

Didn't care for it. I love Mexican and eat it several times a week. I rarely run across a place that I dislike and would never return to to eat. This is one of those. The steak burrito was very bland with no flavor to the meet, same old rice and beans seen at any Mexican place. I couldn't drink the margarita because it was so bad and had it taken off the bill. The server stood almost behind me when talking to me and I actually had to turn around in my seat (in a booth) to talk to him. When I asked him to take the drink off my bill he just walked away. He returned with the bill set it down without a word and walked away. It's almost like he was offended that I didn't care for the drink. The woman at the front counter ignored me for about 3 minutes while she continued to do something on the computer. She finally said that it'll be a minute more. Shouldn't that be the first thing you should say as a customer service person and not just ignore the customer? Overall: just moved to the area and found the place I'll never return to again. Maybe it was a just bad day for the server, cook and bartender. Maybe not. read more

REALLY enjoyed this place. We decided it's our New Mexican restaurant. The food was delicious and the serving sizes were great!! If I had any improvement it would be to serve more with the guacamole salad (not enough guac, sour cream, or poco de gallo). But I asked the waitress for more and she brought it right away. Great place!!! We had the queso w/ beef (huge serving more than any other Mexican rest.) Super steak quesadilla - amazing Steak tacos - tasted good but had to assemble them yourself - kind of weird. Me and my family have been here numerous times and have had a great experience except for the last 2 visits. The last 2 visits were feb14th and now feb.23rd. It has been 15 minutes now and not one person has said anything to us since we have sat down. Being GA weather in February it's hot and I'm thirsty. I asked one of the 3 hostess if they can sit at the hostess table, could they please take our drink order. Granted it is not busy at all at the moment. The hostess's response was, 'your server will be back in a while." What server? I'm starting to lose faith in a place that I use to enjoy. Disappointed in the hostess attitude and overall customer service. Please bring the faith back. Finally the gentleman that is delivering the chips is doing a great job and is in search of our server. Nice little restaurant, but the food was disappointing. We wanted to grab something quick after my kid's events were done. We got chicken nachos which were good. That is probably the reason why the past 2 times, my order had some missing food in there..One time the rice was missing, the next time i didnt get any guacamole...The food is good but the poor communication between the order takers and chefs could be the reason why some of my food is missing. read more
