The biggest thing that threw me off was the horse painting on the second side of the restaurant--it's noticeably uncentered, and once you see it, you can't unsee it. It sounds small, but it sets the tone: details aren't being checked, and the space feels thrown together instead of intentional. Quesadilla's portions are too little for a 6'4 built man like myself. Ate lunch here today for the first time. We really enjoyed everything we ate & thought the server was nice & attentive. Started with the chorizo cheese dip. Very tasty even tho a little pricey. Fantastic food, service, conversation with the owner, a true delight! Hubby ordered the combination fajitas, the chicken and steak were seasoned to perfection, smokey flavor, lots of veggies and a huge portion. The fajitas were accompanied by fresh tortillas and all the accoutrements. So I was unsure about Rustico because I always read reviews before trying new places out and there were no reviews to read. So we decided to try them out for lunch. I'm glad I did! The decor is simple and cute. Very clean and with an open layout. Started off with the queso, salsa and guacamole dip. Salsa and guacamole were flavorful. I didn't like the queso, not much flavor. They do offer a full bar once they open it at the end of August, maybe sooner . All of the food was really good. Cute little Mexican restaurant with a FULL BAR. Randomly came across this place one day. I've been wanting to try it out, finally did. I'm glad we veered from our go-to Mexican restaurant, and gave it a chance. Cozy vibe when you walk in. Seated immediately by a host/hostess. Wait staff very attentive and friendly. The food was pretty good. We started with some queso. So creamy and thick. Not watered down like i have experienced at some other places. They had some good veggie options for the hubs. He got the veggie quesadilla. Flavors were good, but the veggies were a tad overcooked, so texture was not there. I had a variety of mini tacos, loved them all. Can never go wrong with street tacos. Dranks...did I mention they have a full bar?? Hubs got the margarona, they forgot the salt rim... boo!! But he said it was legit. Would def go again. This place is a scam. They strategically don't write the price of the drinks and then markup based on what you're ordering for meals. I ordered the margarona(52oz) yesterday and they charged me $35 for that drink even though the 32oz version was just $10. I also ordered 1 more drink and they gave me the bigger version by default without me asking for it(up charged me). Then the waitress pushed me to order food and made a face when I said I'm here for drinks tonight. When the billing came I was in shock. We tried Rustico for the first time tonight. Our meals were: Chile Relleno, the Corral (arroz con pollo), Nachos Steak Fajitas, and Nachos 3 meat fajita. Al of the items were well portioned. And we were pleased in how everything looked. On the other hand while decently sized the flavors were just bland. I don't know if they are trying to appeal to a more mild taste palate but it was less than pleasing. Within the Chile Relleno there was corn along with the cheese which makes it a bit more sweet which is not what I am looking for in a Chile Relleno. I could tell that the Rellenos were relatively fresh due to the integrity of the pepper. The batter on the Relleno was well cooked. The chicken in the corral was a little on the dry side. Overall, this was a takeout order. Our feed may have been colder than would be experienced within the restaurant. I will give them another try but will eat in to get a fuller sense of the quality of the flavor. I did like the menu and how they have designed the entrees some were very appealing. read more

Nice place. Very skimpy on the food. When your tortilla is bigger than the 3 little shrimps inside you question if the chef had his glasses on. Come on people!!! I gave this place two tries before I wrote this review. Family oriented restaurant. Totally get that but sit people according to family. Kids no kids etc. I asked to change seats because there kids in the first section and did not care to sit with rowdy children. My wife and I had lunch at Rustico Mexican Cuisine and we had a great meal. The service was excellent with the owners, husband and wife team Beto and Gloria, taking good care of us. First off, the margaritas were delicious! I like margaritas but I'm pretty easy to please. My wife, however, is very particular (after all she picked me) and she thought Rustico's margarita was great. For our food we had guacamole, queso, and street tacos. Everything was excellent. Beto told us he makes everything fresh and to order. He also gave us a sample of a margarita made with tequila that he infuses with jalapenos. Wow, the nerve of the owner of this place. I walked in to a empty a** Resturant. Seeing the huge now open sign and the poor location, I felt bad for the poor fellas. I thought, let me support local business. I'm new to the area and why not give this place a shot. Error! I guess I must have walked in looking like a bum, because that's exactly how they treated me. After I placed my food order, I began chatting with him about how long he's been open and I noticed he was so stand-offish and totally ignoring me in his empty a** restaurant, 6 ft away from me. After assessing the situation, I immediately got up to leave and told him to cancel the order. As I walked off, this ..... had the nerve to say " I don't think you came to eat any ways", and the real conversation began. Sir, why else would I come here?!? I told him, this is exactly why I am leaving because I felt the dismissive treatment. He then tried to defend himself as all of his employees gathered around, I couldn't even go back and forth with him as he tried to save face in front of his employees. Disgusted, I left. Never to return. Now I see why this place is empty. How can God bless your place with a heart like that? We will see how long this restaurant lasts. read more
