I wanted to like Rustico, but the whole experience felt sloppy and unfinished. The biggest thing that threw me off was the horse painting on the second side of the restaurant--it's noticeably uncentered, and once you see it, you can't unsee it. It sounds small, but it sets the tone: details aren't being checked, and the space feels thrown together instead of intentional. Quesadilla's portions are too little for a 6'4 built man like myself. My friend, Kuhl, a 5'4 petite little stud muffin, was also not satisfied with the portions. Service was alright. Could be better. read more

Amazing here - do not miss. Food is so authentic, servers efficient, attentive and kind. This place is a gem. Love their fish tacos with spicy Cole slaw - extra yum. Their plates are FULL of food and all very tasty. Especially love the Carne Asada plate and did I mention I am addicted to their chicken soup? So comforting and it has tons of chicken. And did I mention there is a bar for those looking for something stronger than water! They make a lovely and delicious Margarita with hibiscus-infused tequila. Quite different and refreshing. THIS PLACE DOES NOT DISSAPOINT - so glad to have this restaurant here in Lawrenceville....conveniently at the corners of Lawrenceville, Snellville and Lilburn. LOVE IT! read more

Ate lunch here today for the first time. We really enjoyed everything we ate & thought the server was nice & attentive. Started with the chorizo cheese dip. Very tasty even tho a little pricey. Hubby had the Rustico burrito. We both really enjoyed it & said we'd order it again. I had the combo fajitas (chicken & steak). I thought all of their food was seasoned very well despite what some other reviewers said. We will return for sure, especially for the lunch specials. Glad to find yet another Mexican place we like in the area. read more

I chose the pick 3 so that I could try a variety of items. The beef taco good but kinda bland, cheese nachos very tasty as is the cheese enchilada.... beans and rice better than Frontera for sure! The chips are thicker and harder than my favorite place Hacienda but still good. The 24oz dos equis great to wash it all down with! Staff friendly and on the ball! I will be back! read more

Fantastic food, service, conversation with the owner, a true delight! Hubby ordered the combination fajitas, the chicken and steak were seasoned to perfection, smokey flavor, lots of veggies and a huge portion. The fajitas were accompanied by fresh tortillas and all the accoutrements. I had the chicken mole and it was outstanding, chips and salsa served were delicious and best of all the mango mojitos we ordered were the best we ever had. We will be back very soon!! read more

What a neighborhood gem!!! Great and authentic Mexican food that is soooo much better that your typical chain restaurant. Family owned and the attention to service, even when busy, is really great. Food highlights include the Rustico Burrito, Filet Mignon Fajitas, Chicken Mole, Molletes, and the tacos. Drinks are great, hard to go wrong with the horchata! We are so appreciative that there is such a great restaurant that we can take the kids to as well! Please support this great independent restaurant. read more

So I was unsure about Rustico because I always read reviews before trying new places out and there were no reviews to read. So we decided to try them out for lunch. I'm glad I did! The decor is simple and cute. Very clean and with an open layout. Started off with the queso, salsa and guacamole dip. Salsa and guacamole were flavorful. I didn't like the queso, not much flavor. They do offer a full bar once they open it at the end of August, maybe sooner . All of the food was really good. The people are so nice and very attentive, we will definitely be back soon! . read more

Cute little Mexican restaurant with a FULL BAR. Randomly came across this place one day. I've been wanting to try it out, finally did. I'm glad we veered from our go-to Mexican restaurant, and gave it a chance. Cozy vibe when you walk in. Seated immediately by a host/hostess. Wait staff very attentive and friendly. The food was pretty good. We started with some queso. So creamy and thick. Not watered down like i have experienced at some other places. They had some good veggie options for the hubs. He got the veggie quesadilla. Flavors were good, but the veggies were a tad overcooked, so texture was not there. I had a variety of mini tacos, loved them all. Can never go wrong with street tacos. Dranks...did I mention they have a full bar?? Hubs got the margarona, they forgot the salt rim... boo!! But he said it was legit. Would def go again. Good food, good dranks, good people, enjoy!! read more

This place is a scam. They strategically don't write the price of the drinks and then markup based on what you're ordering for meals. I ordered the margarona(52oz) yesterday and they charged me $35 for that drink even though the 32oz version was just $10. I also ordered 1 more drink and they gave me the bigger version by default without me asking for it(up charged me). Then the waitress pushed me to order food and made a face when I said I'm here for drinks tonight. When the billing came I was in shock. The owner asked me why I tipped only x amount I should tip more unless the service was bad. Pushy fraudster! I'm never going back to this shithole read more

We tried Rustico for the first time tonight. Our meals were: Chile Relleno, the Corral (arroz con pollo), Nachos Steak Fajitas, and Nachos 3 meat fajita. Al of the items were well portioned. And we were pleased in how everything looked. On the other hand while decently sized the flavors were just bland. I don't know if they are trying to appeal to a more mild taste palate but it was less than pleasing. Within the Chile Relleno there was corn along with the cheese which makes it a bit more sweet which is not what I am looking for in a Chile Relleno. I could tell that the Rellenos were relatively fresh due to the integrity of the pepper. The batter on the Relleno was well cooked. The chicken in the corral was a little on the dry side. Overall, this was a takeout order. Our feed may have been colder than would be experienced within the restaurant. I will give them another try but will eat in to get a fuller sense of the quality of the flavor. I did like the menu and how they have designed the entrees some were very appealing. read more

Great food! Nice atmosphere! I like to come back here and it is close to home. Always nice service.

I came in 2 weeks ago and see they just scored a 62 on their health inspection. Extremely disappointed as this is a new restaurant where they should be ontop of all of these violations such as mold in the ice maker and raw chicken above fries. That is an EXTREMELY dangerous for anyones health. So bad that I will not be returning read more

Skip the carnitas. It looks and taste bland. Even doused in sauce. Small portions so there's no leftovers either. Disappointed.

Nice place. Very skimpy on the food. When your tortilla is bigger than the 3 little shrimps inside you question if the chef had his glasses on. Come on people!!! I gave this place two tries before I wrote this review. Family oriented restaurant. Totally get that but sit people according to family. Kids no kids etc. I asked to change seats because there kids in the first section and did not care to sit with rowdy children. Then you sit a party of three (with a child) right behind me so I can hear the cartoon playing on an iPad real loud. Will not go back unless it's happy hour. Just for a drink!! read more

This is a GREAT PLACE! Starting with thick, fresh chips and a flavorful amazing salsa. The owner is extremely proud of his place, and it shows. He will happily answer any of your questions. It's a great new addition to this area. I totally recommend it. Service can be a bit slow, because they are new and trying to work out the kinks. But they are very committed to providing you a service, and do the very best they can. read more

Small, family-owned. Great customer service and great food. They've also got a good margarita-- we love this place and eat here often!

My wife and I had lunch at Rustico Mexican Cuisine and we had a great meal. The service was excellent with the owners, husband and wife team Beto and Gloria, taking good care of us. First off, the margaritas were delicious! I like margaritas but I'm pretty easy to please. My wife, however, is very particular (after all she picked me) and she thought Rustico's margarita was great. For our food we had guacamole, queso, and street tacos. Everything was excellent. Beto told us he makes everything fresh and to order. He also gave us a sample of a margarita made with tequila that he infuses with jalapenos. If you like things spicy (I do!) it would be a good choice. We will definitely be going back soon. Please support this wonderful locally owned business! read more

Third and last time trying this place. Food not good at all and portion size was definitely on the small side especially for what you pay. Drinks are expensive and weak. Service not good either as they tried to take our plates away before finishing trying to rush us out. Don't recommend at all. read more

Went here with my family on a Friday night. Less than a mile from my house. There was a good sized crowd. Did not have to wait for a table. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Wow, the nerve of the owner of this place. I walked in to a empty a** Resturant. Seeing the huge now open sign and the poor location, I felt bad for the poor fellas. I thought, let me support local business. I'm new to the area and why not give this place a shot. Error! I guess I must have walked in looking like a bum, because that's exactly how they treated me. After I placed my food order, I began chatting with him about how long he's been open and I noticed he was so stand-offish and totally ignoring me in his empty a** restaurant, 6 ft away from me. After assessing the situation, I immediately got up to leave and told him to cancel the order. As I walked off, this ..... had the nerve to say " I don't think you came to eat any ways", and the real conversation began. Sir, why else would I come here?!? I told him, this is exactly why I am leaving because I felt the dismissive treatment. He then tried to defend himself as all of his employees gathered around, I couldn't even go back and forth with him as he tried to save face in front of his employees. Disgusted, I left. Never to return. Now I see why this place is empty. How can God bless your place with a heart like that? We will see how long this restaurant lasts. read more

The owner of this restaurant is the rudest person. We have supported this place since it opened. We go in 2-3 times a week. We were told last night after eating there every time we come in with "big parties" that we are too loud. Its a Mexican restaurant, not a 5 star dining. We spend so much money at this place to be treated awful every time we come in by the owner. They will never get another penny from me. read more
