I absolutely agree with Ravi B. that this place is deserving of a higher rating. My family and I came here for lunch on our way home from Greenville, after stopping by a super popular joint nearby that had a 45- to 50-minute wait for lunch. We partook in the lunch specials, ordering the chicken tenders kid's meal (subbing fries with rice and beans), burrito grande (with steak and black beans) lunch special, and the Tex-Mex lunch special (you pick two from a list of items) with a beef brisket taco on soft corn tortilla and a chicken tamal. Our friendly server brought us chips and salsa to start. Our kid loves chips and was starving from the drive, so he dived in head-first. Everything was delicious, particularly the adults' meals. The rice and beans were just as fine as other Mexican restaurants that we love. The nuggets were of the ground white meat variety, and our kid is sort of picky and prefers the non-ground meat version. So he ate some at first due to his raging hunger but then tucked into some of the brisket off of my taco to round out his lunch. (No worries, his dad and I with less refined tastes took the chicken chunks home to finish, haha.) We would come back whenever in the area, especially since there is a nice outdoor patio. We held a graduation dinner for my daughter here at La Cazuela! Can I tell you this staff is amazing! The professionalism,patience class of this crew is top notch. And so personable at the same time. I was really hopeful about this place and was extremely disappointed. At first we were told there was a 30 minute wait, and after we got seated after 1 hour and half wait we didn't even get our food until 30 minutes later. I had ordered a small Queso cup to go with my chips. My server had completely forgot about it and said we couldn't pay until the manager took it off the bill. What we ordered: - kids cheese quesadilla w/ fries (my son didn't like it at all - he said the cheese tasted weird) - (2) beef tacos w/ rice & beans (taco meet was cold) Here are some notes from my experience: -while we were seated on the patio fairly quickly, the service with food was extremely slow. -the food was not all that flavorful, therefore, not enjoyable. -when it's time to pay (I did tap to pay) but I had to inconveniently get up and walk all the way to the front just for payment. There needs to be a better system in place for making payments because I would've liked to pay while I was seated therefore I can just leave after instead of waiting. For a slow late lunch I'm surprised that service was not better. Was greeted by our waitress and we choose our table. server didn't ask if we needed a high chair and my sister then had to get it herself. Food was mediocre at best and compared to other spots in downtown lawrenceville, la cazuela doesn't deliver anything exciting or better. Waitress wasn't very attentive and when asked to bring a spoon for the baby, another coworker says "just bring a fork". So when she came back with silverware we didn't ask for we were stuck waiting again (for 10 mins) for the correct utensil. our baby never got to eat his meal as it came with beans and rice which aren't great for serving with mommas hands to babys mouth. Now it might just seem like I'm nitpicking, but when dining out and being served there should be an expectation for anticipating our needs and meeting our requests. It's bare minimum work. Manager was seen but never touched any tables. Overall, for how disorganized our server was and how lack luster the food is, I would never return. At that time the manager stated that they would try their best to have it to our event on time. Today, the day of the event, they were late, so a call was made. Being told that the meal was enroute. Forty minutes later still not there, now a second call is made to be informed that they are not coming. NOT COMING how is this an option. They have been paid; they have committed to providing a meal, now to just not show up! This is below poor! A friend and I stopped in for lunch today at La Cazuela. We were greeted kindly and take them to a table. We were offered chips and salsa as we looked at the menu. They have a nice lunch menu here. Two Tex-Mex items, a cup of soup, served with beans and rice, and a soft drink for $10. I ordered a Chile Relleno, and beef burrito. I have to say the chicken tortilla soup was excellent and I could've eaten a big bowl of the soup and been absolutely happy. Although I did not love my Chile Relleno and beef burrito, it was still good and a great lunch option. My friend ordered a soft taco and a chicken burrito. We shared a dessert which was very good! A chocolate stuffed chimichanga with ice cream and chocolate sauce port over the top. Very yummy. Our order came out hot and fresh. Our server was very polite and attentive. Today, I needed to run an errand downtown. Came across La Cazuela and ordered a small meal that would give me satisfaction until dinner since I missed breakfast. I ordered the Tex Dip which included chicken, steak, shrimp, pico de gallo, salsa, soft tortillas, jalapeño, chips and a cheese dip. Everything was yummy, cheese dip with chicken, steak and shrimp was delicious and everything else you can tell was fresh. This place gets my thumbs up. I ordered the Texas fajitas and a Texas Margarita. The fajitas were very weak, I had about 5 small pitiful shrimp, a few pieces of dried out chicken breast and card board steak..... and no sizzle when the food came out. My date ordered a chicken quesadilla and it was basically meat folded up in a soft taco shell, the cheese wasn't complete melted. We were not happy, @9:20pm everything seemed rushed. We had a table of 8 adults and three toddlers. We waited quite some time to get our drinks (no alcohol), no kids menu was given to us and waitress went MIA so we could not get the kids food ordered before the adults. Finally she showed back up and came back with the menu then disappeared again by this time we needed refills on the drinks. We ordered food and it took forever to come out and the children were getting anxious. One of the kids meals took so long that we were almost finished eating when it came out. ( we shared with the child who had the missing food).The food was cold and tasteless except for the fajitas and one of the meals was all wrong. When we mentioned our experience to the manager(who by the way was sitting at a table next to us on her laptop the entire time this was going on while the rest of the staff was chit chatting at the server station) she "said no one else has complained" and offered no apology or anything. My mom and me came to have lunch together at La Cazuela and it was okay. Located in Downtown Lawrenceville it was kinda hard to find parking but once we did, we got rapidly seated. I had to say our server was really nice, and helped us a lot. Their lunch menu is very extensive, and they have so many options so it was kinda hard to choose. He recommended us the fajitas, so we ordered the chicken & steak combo which also came with rice, beans, mexi salad and tortillas so you can build your own tacos. The food was okay. Nothing special, but tasted good. The only issue here was the cleanliness of the place. It was completely nasty. Flies everywhere, dirty tables and floor. I get it was lunch time so maybe they had a little rush, but nothing changed while we were there. No one seemed interested in cleaning or make the space look better. I have been going here for years and I don't understand why their overall rating is so average! I always have an amazing time here and the servers are all so nice. The food is great and full of big portions. Just recently I came and had the super platillo and the mixed queso dip and everything was so good! I got a frozen margarita, which I probably should have tried just a regular one, but it was still awesome. I got my super platillo with chicken and one of my friends got his with beef and both were great. We didn't have to wait very long for a table. They have some outdoor seating, but it gets taken up fast and they are spacing people out a little more inside. Next time I come here, I'll probably just go ahead and wait for an outside table, especially if the weather is nice! read more

Where to start another walking distance restaurant slowly realizing the amount of people in our town now means they can start to decline in service . Let's start with the amount of young people at the hostess stand not doing anything but conversing. Second I came this time with my 7 year old son was sat on the bar side , I asked to move to the regular side but was told they are trying to keep it clear , so instead place me and a 7 year old in a bar side. Food is ok nothing amazing but it is in walking distance and some days are better then others . The location is fantastic but parking is slightly limited and the inside, it is large and picturesque with nice staff. A friend reserved ahead of time so we were seated quickly. Our waitress was super sweet but slightly forgetful. No silverware, water refills scarce and dish orders were forgotten. The food itself is not authentic and it's just ok but the prices were good. So my friend chose this place because she said she eats here all the time. I decided to use Yelp to look at the food pics and noticed the stars were low but I said hey I'm hungry. After our visit, I can slightly see why the reviews are rated so low. The pina colada drink is pretty good but not much alcohol. I actually had to send one back because it wasn't that great. We received our food in a timely matter and the food isn't that bad. The salsa was great, and the chimichangas and fajitas we ordered were great as well. I really can't complain about the food. Now to the service. As we exited, we didn't realize the server forgot our cards and she caught us in time to give them back which I was grateful for. However, she had the nerve to tell my friend she didn't appreciate the low tip. It turned out to be a big mess and the manager got involved. Overall the manager was understanding and can't fault him. However, I have NEVER been to a restaurant where a server stares the tip was too low. Very unprofessional. Honestly I would try this place again because the food was good. This restaurant wasn't necessarily good or bad. It was average. The prices were on the lower scale for Mexican food. The chips and salsa were complimentary and pretty tasty even though the salsa was watered down. The queso dip was tasty! I ordered the Asada Burrito. Maybe I expected too much? It was supposed to include green peppers, onions, and fajita type steak. I saw the steak which was a bit tough but the peppers and onions were almost unnoticeable. They were cut so small and there was such a small amount. I couldn't understand if I was eating an enchilada or a burrito. In my opinion, burritos are supposed to be filled with several different ingredients and look quite large compared to the size that was presented at the table. I was disappointed but was with a large group of people so I didn't say much about it. My meal also came with rice and pico de gallo. The rice looked dry so I didn't even touch it. Also, I asked the waitress for napkins and she went into the kitchen to give me a small clean stack. I looked in the middle of the stack of "clean" napkins and there was this red salsa looking stuff in the napkin already. I was then grossed out. On a side note, as a restaurant they should really close the kitchen door. No one wants to see the chefs yelling back and forth and the wet, dirty floor. I probably wouldn't go back. read more
