I was looking forward to trying this business for breakfast. I had heard good things. Unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. The table was filthy. It wasn't that it hadn't been wiped. It just appeared to have been wiped with either a dirty rag or just water and they smeared the grease around. It's very dark inside which makes me wonder what they don't want you to see. The food was just okay, nothing great. Once our order was placed and the food was dropped off, no one ever came by to see if we were okay or wanted refills. It's not as though they were busy and there appeared to be plenty of employees. Hopefully it was just an off day for them. But I don't know that I would be willing to try again. The things that were lacking here are the basics and with prices as high as they are right now everywhere the basics at least should be met. read more

My husband decide to give them a try today. We should have kept it moving. First off I was given two dirty water cups. All eating utensils was dirty. Finds still had the last person good on it. Maybe they need to turn up the temp on the dishwasher and make sure the eating utensils are clean before presenting them to customers. The pictures are misleading. My husband order biscuits and gravy with scramble eggs, hash browns, and a side order of pancakes. the blobs it's was flat, dry, and gummy. They had little pieces of what look like hot dog meat in the sauce never seen biscuits and gravy that look like that.‍ The eggs suppose to have cheese in it looked and taste like cheese dust. His food was horrible. Pancakes was mediocre. My chicken and waffles hmmmm. The first thing I notice is as the horrible breading like freezer isle chicken tenders. As the waitress set my plate down I notice my chicken tenders are shaped like animals. Is this a kids meal. I am grown. I have rat, panther, and rhino shaped chicken tenders. They show regular looking chicken tenders on the menu so that's false advertisement. No adult wants animal cracker shaped chicken tenders. Again the breading looked and felt horrible. My waffles had little pieces of eggs stuck on it. My order did not come with eggs so there's some cross contamination going ton there. Will never come back. This is the worst breakfast I have ever had in my life. read more

Como yo habia dicho que iba a regresar al Lorus Cafe para probar su lonche y su cena hoy dia me toco probar el lonche. Vamos a empezar con el muchacho que se llama Refugio que nos saludo el segundo que abri la puerta , luego nos sento en una mesa y se aseguro de conseguirnos un mesero expectacular. El mesero que nos toco se llama Alexis aun que no sabiamos que bebidas ordenar Alexis nos trajo un vaso de agua a cada quien. Despues Alexis nos recomendo sus mimosas que por sierto estaban riquisimas!! Probe la mimosa de Piña (para la niña) , la de Cranberry , la de durazno (que fue mi favorita) y la de fresa (riquisima) . De appetizer probamos el calamari y cuando les cuento que suave y calientito estaba(wow) viene acompañado con marinera al lado pero si recomiendo que pidan un extra aderezo de ranch para darle ese sabor extra , tambien ordernamos una orden de onion rings (aros de cebolla) que igual al calamari estaban recien echas y calientitas ( a mi personalmente no me gusta nada con cebolla pero estos onion rings si que estaban deliciosos 10/10) siguiendo a la comida ordenamos unos tacos de pescado estilo Ensenada con su salsa (pero ojo que la salsa esta picosita asi que echenle poquita antes de bañar su taco en la salsa) y con su limonsito arriba y siempre pidan aguacate en sus tacos de pescado para darle ese toce final. Entre las bebidas , los appetizers , los side orders y los tacos le toco a nuestro mesero su break y mientras el fue a tomarse su break el otro muchacho llamado Emmanuel se hico acargo de la mesa y lo atento que el estubo a cada segundo nos hico sentir bien ( no como cuando uno va a ihop o denny's y uno tiene que estar escaniando el cuarto buscando a un mesero para que le traigan servilletas) aqui esa no fue la situacion. Antes de ir ordenamos unas crepas de Nutella y Fresa y wow riquisimas! La manera perfecta de terminar el lonche con algo dulcecito. Asi que esta vez le vuelvo a dar un 10/10 a Lorus cafe y un 20/10 a los muchachos Refugio, Alexis, y Emmanuel por ser super lindos y atentos al cliente. Our group felt like the reviews for this place were misleading. We all immediately felt sick to our stomachs, and let's just say, the food did not stay in longer than 20 minutes. We ordered the cinnamon roll French toast, 2x2 breakfast, breakfast burrito, and breakfast combo with the hamburger patty. It took over 45 minutes for our order to come out when the restaurant was a little over half full, which felt a little long for a breakfast place. Every single element of the dishes came out cold and undercooked. The egg whites were still liquid and congealed, to the point that the eggs were probably not safe to serve. The pancakes were still cakey & the cinnamon roll French toast tasted like undercooked rolls from the pop out pillsbury can. The sausage was grey-colored and clearly came from frozen, the burrito tortilla was stale with the insides not mixed or cooked well. The hashbrowns were the worst I've ever had at a restaurant unfortunately. They tasted like re-hydrated hashbrowns from the dehydrated hash browns that come in a carton that are meant for camping meals. Nothing had any flavor & tasted entirely unappetizing. read more

I was a little disappointed with my visit. I ordered a classic cheeseburger and a couple of things went wrong. One they forgot to the add the cheese and second of all they ran out of the 1/3 angus patty which was not disclosed to me. Newly opened restaurant close to us in Camarillo. We tried it this past weekend. Excellent service and food and had a nice crowd dining there. I had a bacon cheese omelette that was great and my wife had the corn beef hash and eggs. The hash browns were made perfectly as I like them. Amazing breakfast and service it's our to go place every Sunday the employees are very nice and attentive....I would not recommend for dinner I tried not one but twice and both times our food was old and dry the service changed employees seem to be tired and not on the mode to give good quality service!! ***LATE REVIEW*** So, I've been here a few times and it was always just ok, kinda like a last resort I guess place for me. WELL my wife and I went I believe on Thursday, 16th(Jun) at about 5:30 pm because we were going to see JP at 7pm. Our server, Reggie (I believe), OMG he was FANTABULOUS (fantastic+fabulous). I mean he was covering down all over the place. He seemed to have more of a MANAGER MENTALITY by walking to each table checking on all the guests. He was super attentive, courteous, friendly and treated each person I saw him interact with outstanding. I can't leave out the chef/line cook, our food was magnificent. It was fresh hot perfectly seasoned and everything you could ask for. The times I have been in the past were around the breakfast/lunch hours. I will never go that early again unless Reggie is in there, wish I could've caught the name of the chef/ line cook.. I thought I had found my new go to breakfast place! After coming here two times during the week with girlfriends and ordering the Chile Verde omelette (and enjoying it thoroughly). I decided to come in on a Saturday with my family. I chatted this place up big time to my husband. How embarrassed I was. It was like they opened a can of Chile Verde sauce poured it over and called it done. Not one piece of pork. It was flat, runny and terrible. My husband's "Grand Breakfast" was nothing grand. The ham steaks were 2 pieces the size of Doritos that were overcooked and even the scrambled eggs were overcooked. My son just had the kids chicken fingers and fries that looked like frozen tenders and we're left in an air fryer a few minutes too long. If there is no consistency in your kitchen or quality control, I can't choose a restaurant if it's gonna be a hit and miss depending on who's in the kitchen. I'm so disappointed.
