I just left John and the guys at Lorton Auto Service Center extremely happy with their quality of service and an extra $444 in my wallet. After the "stealership" quoted me $669 for my front brake pads & rotors, and another $399 for my rear brake pads & rotors I knew I could find a place that could do the work for a lot cheaper. And Lorton Auto Service Center was just the place! After I purchased the parts on my own, I called everywhere to see if any shops would allow me to bring them in and I just pay the labor. They all said no, that's until I talked to John on Friday afternoon. Not only did he say yes, he asked me when I wanted to bring the car in. I was pleasantly shocked by his reply. I brought the car in Monday morning and by noon I was out the door. Their quality of work is phenomenal! These guys are great. I go no where else now. Honest, helpful and trustworthy. I ended up with them after another body shop had done a repair on my vehicle that did not completely fix the problem. I managed drive it and to their place from the freeway. They quickly looked it over and found that the repair was only half done and I was charged for a part that I didn't have. Once they fixed my old vehicle was ready to go for more and sounded better than it had in a long time. They also advised me getting my money back from the other place. They won me over. Since then they also repair my daughters vehicle, which has been often to get her car ready for going back to college. I never get the feeling that I have to worry about the car breaking down again on my kid or that they just reached in my pocket and stole my money. They work with me, and my budget to make only the most important ones that can't wait. They are OUTSTANDING! Amazing! I noticed I had a flat tire on some brand new tires I just bought (from another retailer). I called Lorton Auto Service Center around 8 a.m. and explained the problem. The man who answered the phone was extremely kind and said he could take care of it quickly, no problem. I drove my van over there around 9 a.m. and they had fixed my tire within 30 minutes or so. Turns out, there was a nail stuck in it. They were able to fix it so I didn't have to buy a new tire. The man who helped me noticed I had my laptop with me (I was taken away from my job to take care of the tire) and kindly offered me the shop's wifi password. The best part about my experience was when I went to pay, I was told I didn't need to, that they didn't charge for the service I needed. WOW! What a huge blessing. I will definitely be going back to Lorton Auto Service Center for all my auto maintenance needs and I encourage you to do the same. These guys are amazing! So professional and kind. And John, the manager, was also fair and trustworthy. Based on reviews, we told him we "trusted him" to let us know what needed done for our car's 60K mile check-up. He could have told us that hundreds of dollars of more work was "needed" (especially because we were expecting it), but instead, he told us only what was actually needed. We were pleasantly surprised by how much less we had to spend, but not surprised by John's honesty - as many reviewers have shared. And he called us right away when there was a delay in getting a part and then made us a priority since we had to wait an extra day for the shipment. Great service!! Our daughter then decided to take her car there and had the same positive experience! We are glad we have found a local mechanic we can trust. I can't recommend them enough. LADIES STOP LOOKING AND COME HERE! Hands down the best auto shop I have taken my car to. I knew my car had to get a lot of work done and when I called I spoke to John who was kind and broke down everything for me as far as what costs associated with each job when I asked. As a female, I feel like we try to avoid auto shops as much as possible because we feel like we will always be taken advantage of. When I got there they immediately took my car in. I also got to meet the owner who was very nice. The people that work there seem to like to engage with their customers which is great because they will listen to you. It turns out my car didn't require a type of work I thought I needed (because my original dealer ship said I needed it), but instead a simple fluid! This saved me a good amount of money. This was my first visit to Lorton Auto Service Center. I recently had a vehicle shipped to VA and needed to get it evaluated and have basic service performed on it as well as the state inspections. I went to a local dealership first and I did not like the attitudes of the service writers nor the "feel" of the service department. I stopped by LASC and spoke with the manager John and it was a 180 degree difference. I dropped off my vehicle and later that morning John called and provided me with a very detailed description of the condition of my vehicle as well as service recommendations. When a service shop tells you that they prefer not to perform a repair until they are absolutely certain it is needed that means a lot. They even took my vehicle to an emissions inspection station to save me time later. Fantastic service!! Just moved to the area two days before Thanksgiving and after driving around for a bit discovered I had a nail in my tire. Expecting the worst as far as being able to be seen before this hectic holiday period & not knowing anything or anyone in the area...I turned to Siri to find a store. A few were recommended & I ended up calling John @ Lorton Auto Service Center. Not only was he courteous and understanding about everything, he told me to head on over and he'd try to help me out (given that it was a booked solid with jobs). Well help me out he did...he personally saw to fixing the hole in my tire & as a courtesy didn't charge me for the repair. This place is wonderful. I took my SUV in for an oil change and the dreaded "it's hit a certain mileage and now I need you to look at it to see if anything needs to be replaced oh god please don't rip me off because I won't know" tune up. I know very little about cars and these dudes had a perfect opportunity to tell me I needed a new flux capacitor and I would have asked if $4000 was enough money for a new flux capacitor. But they changed my oil, suggested I get new tires, and told me everything else looked great. They seriously could have gotten so much money out of me in unnecessary service, but instead they were honest and I'll always bring my car back here as a result. They always remembered who I was, always answered the phone, kept me updated, and very clearly explained all charges before they did anything. This place was absolutely great! I met John and he was very friendly as well as the young lady behind the counter that was always smiling. I called for an oil change and asked for price and time as i needed to be to work later and both were spot on. He asked if there were other concerns I wanted to check and he confirmed what I had originally thought and recommended what needed fixed first. He basically broke down and explained the other things I need and the order that I should probably take to have them repaired. What a great auto service center! Saved me over 200.00 in comparison to the dealership! My 2013 LED third light went out and I only have a little over 18,000 on the car. The kicker was the design for this model the seats and side panels have to be removed to replace the 200 LED. The dealership quoted nearly $588.00. For a break light replacement????? Because of the labor and the light I started looking and found Lorton Auto Service Center! Fast, worked with my schedule and replaced the light for less and got the sticker to replace the rejection sticker that the dealership removed the one that was still good for three weeks! So I had an another auto repair shop quote me for work and when I showed up everything changed. It turned out to be one of those horror auto repair situations. So I left that repair shop and went out on a limb with Yelp and found this place. John eased my fears and was straight up with the work and prices. The mechanics explained the issues and fixed them. These guys are straight shooters that care about the quality of the work leaving their shop. I had some body work, headlight, and intake installations for a 2005 Mustang. I've been looking for a shop who seemed knowledgeable about BMWs . This one looked like the best in the area so I called and talked over the phone to John about a perceived problem. He listened (good start) and said they'd have to check it out to be sure, but it sounded like a pretty pricey fix. I could tell he knew what he was talking about, and dropped my car off and went to the bank to drain it (BMWs aren't cheap). Needed to find a new place, since moving to Lorton and I have found the perfect spot. Heard squeaking with my brakes and so I called to set up an appointment and it was very easy. When I got there they brought in my car right away and when they were done checking my brakes, the one mechanic thoroughly explained what was wrong and what was needed to be done along with a price. It was very hassle free process and everything got done in a timely manner. They also tested out my car just to make sure everything was sounding right. I have not heard a squeaking since. If I could give six stars for my first experience with Lorton Auto and the Manager, John, I absolutely would! On a Saturday afternoon I called one hour before closing to ask if they could help with a low-pressure tire. John said to come on over. The bays were full with previous work orders. But within 15 minutes John had identified the leak, pulled the nail, and plugged the tire -- good as new! AND, he offered it as a courtesy service. After procrastinating on getting my brakes done, while driving today I heard a loud grinding noise and immediately gave them a call. I spoke with John, who was able to squeeze an appointment in once I told him the problem. I was shown the issue and explained what was needed and what it would cost. Was super excited to find this place today. They were the only ones that didn't laugh when I asked to bring my car in to see about a hot AC at 3:30pm on my way home from work. We were in and out in a little over an hour with a fixed car, explanation, and not a huge bill. I always appreciate mechanics taking the time to tell you what they think is happening and why...especially when a lot of places take advantage of their customers lack of knowledge.
