We visited on a sunny spring Sunday, and grabbed a table on the patio before sending a member of our group up to order at the bar. Their menu is expansive, and there's something for every palette, along with several gluten-free options. We opted for a family-style lunch - ordering several small plates and sharing among our group of four. We started with the Smoked Queso (delish!) and the smoked wings (crispy and full of flavor!) I also enjoyed the Loro Wedge Salad, which is topped with the tangiest miso bleu cheese and smoky, crumbled burnt ends. We also shared the crispy smoked chicken sandwich, the butchers cut, the charred broccolini, and the Texas street corn. Everything was expertly prepared, and every plate was cleaned. Stopped by Loro for dinner and had a pretty mixed, but still enjoyable experience! Drinks: We ordered the slushy flight. The mango was mid--not much depth of flavor. The colada was pretty good--sweet, creamy, and not too overwhelming. The Vietnamese coffee slushy was the standout, tasting like a Vietnamese coffee ice cream with a light coffee flavor and rich chocolatey undertones. Food: The char siu pork belly was the star of the meal--super tender, juicy, and had that perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors. The corn fritters were ultra crunchy and paired perfectly with the tangy sauce--definitely worth ordering. The chicken karaage was a bit odd--it leaned sweet instead of salty and crunchy like a traditional Asian karaage. While not my preference, the chicken was juicy and well-cooked, so it wasn't bad, just mid. We also ordered the edamame (since they were out of snap peas), but honestly, it was a miss. Loro! Oh what age and a tad of wisdom do to a review. My prior experience was delivery, my current and ongoing experiences are at the South Lamar location... and yes, delivery/catered. We gave Loro a second chance in 2025, and so glad we did as that experience sparked a new love for the family. Then today, my company ordered Loro for catering. My prior experience and review came to mind, but I batted it down. And to top it off, I was on a call for the first 30 minutes after being notified of the delivery, but still, I walked down the hall to fill my plate. My husband got the brisket which he said wasn't necessarily anything special but that it was good. I got the shrimp and it was amazing !! I'm partial to shellfish though and curry flavors so this dish felt like it was made for me. The smokiness on the shrimp was so delicious, I'm already wishing I had more. The corn fritters were pretty good but truthfully we have had some tastier ones back home in San Antonio. The sauce accompaniment with them though was super yummy. Stopped by on a Sunday during ACL weekend and was pleasantly surprised it wasn't too packed. Ordering at the bar was super easy, and the food came out fast, a huge plus! There was wait when we arrived but drinks and patio are a great place to hang out. We got a pager and some water and chilled, we got a table in no time. It was a beautiful day outside, and their outdoor dining tables are perfect for days like these. The music, the vibes, and the weather made for a great afternoon lunch. Top pick for some patio weather dining! ALL of our drinks were really top notch, table favorites were lychee martini, and frozen vietnamese coffee. The bartenders & waitresses were friendly and helpful. Foodwise the table favorites were the melon & arugula salad, corn fritters, and salmon dip with wonton chips were a close runner- up. Loro is such a great spot for a yummy meal, Rachel and I visited after going to our storage unit, and after a stressful day (lol), this tofu bowl picked me right back up! It was so flavorful and the crunchy texture of the tofu was exactly what a tofu enthusiast, like me, dreams about. The edamame was also so good, spicy but not too hot, and had just the right amount of lemony tang. I also ordered a cookie and it was incredibly soft, which was great because I love a good soft cookie. When you walk in, you go to the bar and order then take a seat wherever with your number. What a cute spot!! I came here for dinner with a friend last night and we both loved it here. The building is beautiful and the outdoor seating area is huge and very cute. We sat at the bar since most of the tables inside were full but our bar tender Cedar was awesome! So first Restaurant look great and smells great on the way in, the ambiance great. The service on point we sat down at a table that was dirty I work in the industry so I don't mine cleaning a table. The staff saw that and beat me to it. The cashier nice friendly and quick. The waiters nice and fast serve also. The food everyone has there likes and dislikes. I'm not sure what happened but after my last two experiences there, those flavors have disappeared. Very very crowded on a Wednesday after work. Thankfully they have a big parking lot & what I'm assuming is a lot of Ubers (Waymo's) coming by often. I arrived after my group and thank GOODNESS they already had a table (outside, it'd be hard to fit more than one larger group inside). The setup is order at the bar & they bring to your table. There was a line for everything & I'm glad we weren't sitting inside because people just walk around & stand everywhere to wait. Once I did finally order, the food came out reasonably fast considering how busy they were. I got the katsu noodles, which was good but overall a bit dry. We had been to the location at the Domain and decided to try this location during Cinco de Mayo. For cocktails, I had the Mango Sake Slushee and my partner had the Margarita in a shaker which was a tad smaller than we'd experienced elsewhere. The Mango Sake Slushee was rather tasty and not overpowering on the sake. Ended up having two. The Smoked Queso was delicious, however they forgot the brisket. Upon receipt of same there was a smidgen of brisket on the queso. Not worth the extra $6 that was charged for adding it. The charred broccoli was very tasty and the lemon zest added to the already excellent flavor. The pork spare ribs were absolutely delicious and the meat just came right off the bone it was that tendwr. I didn't use the BBQ sauce provided to us as the meat itself was marinated enough. The Typhoon Cocktail had no passionfruit flavor and more resembled a tequila sunrise. It's also way smaller than the photos on their website. Once you're seated, you actually have to go up to the bar and order your food and they will bring it to your table. It's a pretty interesting concept but somehow it works. We took the bus to Loro while we had a few free hours during our visit to our son at UT. The stop was right across the street. As we walked up, we noticed it was really busy and weren't sure where to enter or how to find a table. We eventually found the host and they seated us at the bar. We also noticed people in line at the bar placing orders and taking a buzzer to have it delivered to them. The bartender was a good multi-tasker and was attentive to us while juggling so many customers and orders. Our food came quickly and we noticed a lot of people ordering what we ordered when they got to the bar. We tried the chicken karaage, pork ribs and salmon. All excellent choices! I worry the term casual dining means nothing to a lot of people. You don't want to worry about a reservation, but you want something of quality. You don't want to pay an extreme overhead, but you want something a little more than just your fast-casual place. Loro, I think, belongs in the hall of fame of casual dining. You're in charge of your table. If you find a table, you're golden. Upon arrival, I found a nice two person table outside. Done deal. You sit and can look at their menu planning your perfect meal. I opted for the Sake Can 1/2 Chicken because I've been in a major tissi swing as of late while my girlfriend opted for the Char Siew Pork Belly Rice Bowl. We mutually agreed on their Oak Grilled Edamame. I got the Kyuri Mule and Madeline got the Lychee Martini. Once we locked that in, I went inside and ordered the entire thing at once. The drinks were prepared immediately as a treat to take back to the lady. They give you a numbered puck like any other restaurant to get you your food. They had numerous silverware, napkin, plate, and water stations both indoors and outdoors making it easy to get the utensils and anything else you'd need to make your experience pleasant. Other than the person you order from and the person delivering your food, it's on you to make your dining experience worth while. That's what you want out of casual dining. Their drink selections have a little bit of everything. The bar actually looked really nice. The edamame was fire. The siracha powder is super subtle on the tongue, but makes the edamame so addictive I was handed my Sake Can Half Chicken (i'm saying half vs the fraction they listed on their menu cus i'm not a freak) and was told they recommended me shredding the meat and making a lettuce wrap with it. At first I was mad they told me what to do because I hate instructions, but after deciding to shred the meat, I hated that their suggestion was fire. The skin on the chicken was good with the gochujang glaze. The breast was quite moist with a clean tear from the breast test with no strings. Clean rips. Super flavorful especially with the accompanied curry vinaigrette. Like finding love, I have commitment issues so trying the vinaigrette solo before fully lathering the chicken with it had me worried but the pairing really brought out a fantastic tag team worthy of a new deal in a contract year. I was visiting Austin for a few days and this was definitely one of the best meals I've had on the trip. My friends and I shared the smoked salmon dip, corn fritters, cabbage salad, Loro cheeseburger, and smoked beef brisket. The corn fritters were a fan favorite. It was crunchy and both sweet and salty. It didn't taste too battery which was good! We also loved how smoky and tender the brisket was. There was surprisingly a decent amount of meat too. The cabbage salad made a refreshing palate cleanser since all the other dishes were on the saltier side. The loro cheeseburger was good but nothing out of the world. The salmon dip was our least favorite - the dip was underwhelming and the chips were overly oily. We came on a Friday evening and had to wait close to 1.5 hour to get seated and order food. My coworkers and I ventured to Loro after work for dinner on a Tuesday evening. After hearing all the rave reviews about this casual restaurant created by famous chefs from Uchi and Franklin's BBQ, I was so excited to finally dine here! First thing's first -- the restaurant's private lot parking seems huge but is not nearly ample enough to accommodate the many, many patrons of Loro, even on a Tuesday evening at 6pm. We were one of many cars circling the lot looking for a space. I say "circling" very lightly as the additional lot is 4 rows of dead ends, so definitely be warned if you have a larger vehicle -- this might be challenging for you to maneuver. When we finally parked and made our way to the host stand, we were told the wait would be around 20 minutes. This was a true wait. We did not mind waiting for a table as the weather was perfect and the outside space was beautifully decorated and inviting. Although there weren't very many people waiting when we arrived, it's obvious lots of people wait here all the time. You give your number to the host and they will text you when your table is ready. Once our number was called, we were "seated" at a bench table at the far end of the bar. I say "seated" lightly because you're really just directed to an area to sit. You still have to order at the bar, but the food is delivered to your table. The inside is crowded and loud. I found myself progressively losing my voice throughout the meal as I had to shout to my coworkers sitting right next to me. When seated, the host explains the peculiar ordering concept, but simply wait in line at the 4 lines formed at the long bar -- you'll know where the lines should be because there are bright orange signs that say, "order". Be warned, the line takes FOREVER. Several process improvement opportunities I noticed while waiting in line: there is one person handling a line. This person takes your order, confirms your order, handles your payment, gives you any relevant appetizers AND makes your drink. Menus items are posted on the wall but if you aren't prepared, you stall the patrons behind you. There are plenty of misses when it comes to expediting the ordering process. On to the food! They provide you with a pager, but the servers bring the food out to you and look for your pager (idk how they find you, our pager wasn't even beeping).
