Steak frites

Great place to come and chill before heading out. Their steak frites are good and definitely worth it! No one really bothers you. So service is alright, Just go order at the bar and have your drink and food

Au poivre steak frites

~52 minute wait for the $22 au poivre steak frites and I don't think it's worth the wait. The steak kinda tasted boiled? It didn't have a good char flavor that I like for my steak. I did like the fries, they were well seasoned, not soggy, and paired well with the steak. But it's hard to mess up fries... The bar itself is giving dive bar vibes and you have to stand inside/outside w your number. Most of the seats were taken so it's hard to find a spot to sit down and eat

Steak frites with "Mala" Szechuan Sauce
Kevin T.

Dropped by for a quite bite and a drink before a show last night, and it was a pretty decent option - but nothing super mind blowing. If I'm in the area and it's convenient I'd consider dropping by again, but wouldn't recommend going out of your way for it The steak frites was cooked medium rare and had a "szechuan" au poivre sauce, but you can't really taste any of the mala (sauce was still really good though)! The burger was also quite yummy, with a sizable patty. Adding bacon and cheese were extra ($3 and $1 extra) but definitely added to my enjoyment so I'd recommend at least getting the cheese. Overall, I think the food was pretty good and the drinks were decent, but it is slightly pricey for what it is (the steak frites was $22 and the burger was $14 with the additional toppings).

Four score and 6 months later, Lori Jayne is BACK inside my digestive system. I really love the cheeseburger. As a native homegrown So Cal kid, In n Out has its grasp on me, I don't care what anyone has to say about it. All that to say, as I bit into the burger and I tasted the caramelized onions, sauce and burger with cheese I was taken back to my yearly visits to LA at my local In N out. I don't mean to compare these two restaurants that hold special places in my heart and stomach; this is all just to say that this burger is special to me because it reminds me of home in my home now as an East Coast adult. Also, beef tallow fries are great! Started cooking with beef tallow after Sam's YouTube video and you can really taste the difference once you start cooking with it. I appreciate the ambiance here at Danger Danger along with the seating and music choice. I feel calmer and less stressed without the pressure of trying to scavenge for a booth to sit and eat at. Can't wait to visit again and order another cheeseburger but with like 3x the caramelized onions.

Finally got to see what all the hype was about at Lori Jayne! It's nestled inside the eclectic Alphaville, Lori Jayne serves up a selection of bites. We got the steak frites ($20) and the tenders with Lori Jayne sauce. The steak frites were pretty good for the price, particularly the au poivre sauce on top. Meat was cooked perfectly as well. Tenders came out piping hot and were decent, though I wish they were a little crisper. The LJ sauce wasn't my favorite.. it was like a thousand island kind of sauce. Atmosphere was fun - lots of booths and fun lighting inside. It wasn't too crowded when we went a which was definitely a plus in terms of finding seating. Will be back when I want to switch it up in the area!

This spot is the "dive-est" of dive bars that I have been to in a long while but I was here for one thing only...the A1 FOOD! Food: we ordered the bacon cheese burger and it was delicious. The pickles snuggled away at the bottom really took it over the top. The steak frites were really good as well, the sauce was a little bit more than I'd personally preferred but still good nonetheless and the Szechuan type steak skewers which were mildly spicy and a bit fatty. We also ordered cocktails which were tasty! "Service" was a vibe and so were the patrons. A really cool couple saw us looking for a table and she called us over at the end of her meal so we can grab their spot. They also gave us some food recs! Def would come back here when I wanted beef and a nice dive bar experience.

I was so excited to try this after seeing it go viral on Instagram. However, i was fooled. The meat was wayyyyy undercooked even after asking for it to be well done. The service was great. The bartender took care of me. The portion showed online is also way bigger than the portion. I guess because it's "20" dollars it's supposed to suffice. But I've had better. Way better. Inbox me if you'd like the recommendation. Great colorful ambiance though.

Overall rating: 4.4 Price: $47 w/ tip I've been wanting to try this place for a few years after seeing it on the Tok. Since it's in bushwick, the spot is a travel for me. I went one time at night on a time crunch and that was a bad decision. There were lines and lines of people towards the bar. So the second time I went around 6pm and I think it was just opening. Omg it was so loud! Like, can't hear yourself loud. The bartenders were so nice, but I would have just loved the place so much more if they lowered the music 3-5 notches since it's not 10pm. I ordered the Steak Frites Mala Au Poivre & 1 Cucumber Mint Gimlet. It took about 20 minutes or so with maybe 3-4 people there. So it felt a little long for me for medium rare. The steak was smothered in sauce, so it was a bit hard for me to taste the steak. I did like it with the fries but not sure if the dish is right for me. Also I wasn't expecting to pay almost $50 for a meal and a drink in Bushwick. I do feel like I've aged out of a place like this so not sure if this is the place for me. I did see when I left, they were offering earplugs in the front. So everyone is aware it's loud. But a little confused why they don't just lower the volume. The food was good, just not sure if it's worth the trip for me.

Skewers, perhaps 1.5 oz total for 12 bucks.
Robert B.

Superb bartenders, staff, and music. Got the burger and skewers. Left quite hungry. Burger probably 3.5 oz, similar to a slider but on a regular bun. Skewers were ridiculously small, and should be half the price at most. Everything tasty (4 star), but deducting a star for price vs qty.

Prime Burger+cheese+bacon Mushroom Nugs Nugs
Trst Z.

super solid bar foods. burger is JUICY and fresh. bacon is a bit disappointing since the menu says "thick bacon". the chicken and mushroom nugs are both well seasoned and fried. Szechuan sauce was amazing. service is nice but the bar feels a bit understaffed.

Steak Frites has a gorgeous look and unique peppercorn sauce

Wonderful to see this type of thing popping up in the hood! ‍ I'm old enough to remember when there was barely a thing on the Ave, let alone a mouthwatering slab

They spill all over the place every time and because of that, I always burn my hand. They don't have sleeves either because I think the cups are too small. Either way, the location is convenient if you need a coffee shop in Greenpoint if the neighboring shops are full. They do have a full menu for brunch, lunch, and dinner service. The prices match the location and the food looks good as there are always locals dining outside with their families and dogs. The space is spacious as well. I got lucky one night when there was no line & my girlfriend and I got a seat. To start off, the ambiance is rock solid, they got the classic old school American/ New York look. Beautiful lights, a sky line art work, comfy leather seats, and you can scribble on the table I love it. Staff & service are also amazing, there very attentive, respectful, friendly and the service is great, they do a great job in both of these aspects. However, their food is lacking. It's a very small menu, we ordered their burger, clams, wedge salad and Sunday. All of the items were fine, I personally didn't like the clams, I felt they were too dry, the burger was good but nothing you can't get anywhere else. The salad and Sunday weren't worth it. However, what was very disappointing, I believe they cook using cheap oils, because after our meal, my girlfriend & I just felt really bad in our stomach. I really wish this place well and hope they last, but the hype is way too high and I think they need to switch the oil and quality of their ingredients.
