i ended up going to a different shop to see why my truck was acting up. Too find out, Lopers never properly tuned my truck. The terminator X perimete's were way off as if they rushed through it instead of fixing the faults and properly tuning the truck. This is a bad shop with spiteful people working there! This is about their parts store. If you buy any parts from them it's "Buyer Beware" I purchased a part on Saturday. When I got home I realized it wouldn't work on my car. I didn't take it out of the bag. Sunday they are closed. So Monday I drove down and asked for a credit stating that I ordered the wrong one. They didn't have the correct one in stock. The counter guy says I'm charging lyou 20% restocking fee. I told him it was an honest mistake why penalize me I could understand if I had waited 5- 20 - 30 days to return it. But he wasn't having it. So from me giving him the part and he walked 10 feet or so to it back on the shelf I was penalized $26.00. Lopers No Mas! I'll go back to Summit's, Jegs or even Amazon for my speed parts. I just hope my $26.00 helped keep you in the black today. read more

Wish I could give zero stars. The absolute worst customer service I have ever received. Anywhere. Management refused to return a non-fitting part because it had been installed or attempted to be install. P/N & application were correct, the parts were defective. Pretty hard to determine if a part will fit or not unless you bolt it on. Then charging a 20% restocking fee to walk 20 feet to put the boxes back on a shelf. Do yourself a huge favor and spend your money with Jegs, Summitt or Speedway. Anywhere but here. You will save yourself some bucks too. Absolutely horrible customer service! I went there after a buddy of mine recommended Mike for dyno tuning because he had a good experience with him on a separate type of repair. I don't usually review places but this was so bad I had to say something. I told him that someone put a tune in my truck but I don't think the guy knew what he was doing and I wanted his opinion. Mike proceeds to tell me that his opinion is like everyone's aashole...its different. After walking back and forth and telling me that I'm the type of guy who goes from one place to another getting opinions and then criticizes the work, he proceeds to pull my vehicle into the bay and look at the tune. Wouldn't you know it...the tune WAS done improperly and the air to fuel mixture is so rich, the engine is in danger of having failure down the road. Mike says its not his fault someone did bad work and that I'm crying to him (those were his exact words) to do a new tune but it will cost me $800-$1000 for him to tune it. That is the most expensive quote I've ever heard of but if he did great work, fine, but its amazing the place is still in business when the owner has a mouth like that to a new customer he's never met This guy is ridiculous and does not deserve anybody's money. read more

If I could make zero stars I would. An Employee hit my vehicle off of 19th Ave taking out my mirror and told me to call his boss Mike Kelly. When I call, Mike was a total A-hole and refused to provide insurance policy # and phone number. Gave his agents name and told me to go look it up the phone number myself. What kind of person has an employee damages someone else property and acts like this? I wouldn't trust him with any auto work if he can't stand up and do the right thing in an auto accident he certainly is not going to do the same for customers. read more

These guys do a great job. So far have had them do a full suspension rebuild, new shifter and exhaust update and have been really pleased with the service. When a wiring bug was giving us problems, Mike and the team tried every solution to correct it. They took real ownership of the problem, even paying for a tow when it didn't work. OMG why do I even bother... I wish there was a way to give them zero stars or have it shut down this place is horrible. I was hoping that my visit a month ago was maybe just a fluke I read all the reports and reviews, and even gave my own review based on the attitude of both personnel that were there. Period I did not grade the place really on anything I wanted to buy However went back a little bit ago was interested in a fuel injection system I knew what I wanted ...I did the research, contacted the company and received some PDF materials and I was pushed away from the item by lopers I wanted because they are selling a different sys which is fine but if you're going to push me on a system know the facts about the system because you say made in USA doesn't mean I'm gonna jump on it like a pogo stick. I like made in USA items probably as much as the next person however if I'm gonna buy a $1200 system don't push upon me in $300 fuel pump and $100 regulator I think I can get by with a slightly is less expensive pump and regulator I'm already spending over a grand don't push me on something I don't want and try to fill me with info anybody can read off the Internet you back it up with papers you back it up with some research and you show me the difference on paperwork that's been done at your shop against the two items that you're telling me about then we'll go from there. I guess I just hate salesman that are idiots and think that they're better than you at knowledge. Cant comment on parts and accessories but as far as mechanical services go, #1. I bought a typical Barrett Jackson ride, looks great but always a gamble if it is a pile of bondo and if the drive train will last. Actually bought a solid truck with a 502 ram jet in desperate need of a tune and computer diagnostic. Was told exactly what was required to get this thing to pass emissions and run right. And told what the price would be and what time it would be done. Delivered as promised. End of the day, the correct temp and gapped plugs were installed, valves shimmed and computer tuning on dyno completed. Big job and everything was done in one day. I am a firm believer in value and getting what I pay for. Was the price lowest in town? NO. Was it anywhere convenient for me? NO. Was it done professionally with no BS? ABSOLUTELY. I have a number of high HP cars and can attest that this is, one of the best I have used. This is the only shop I will use for my Arizona rides. read more

My husband took his '96 Chevy Impala here to have his old engine swapped out with a practically new Corvette LS3 engine. I must say--the thing is a MONSTER and my husband is thrilled with the power and thrust of the new engine in his beloved vehicle LOL Now truly, the craftsmanship is incredible, the workmanship is custom, and all of it is IMPRESSIVE! My only hesitation in giving 5 stars is the disappointment in hearing that the job would take 2 weeks, when in fact, a job of this magnitude ended up taking over 2 months. I'm a paycheck to paycheck family man that cannot afford to spend a lot of money on truck parts that are non necessity. After saving up enough money to buy a Holley carburetor and electric choke kit I decided to buy from Loper's. The sales guys behind the counter also recommended that I buy this fast idle lever that I would need for the carb as well. After installing the carb I decided to go with a manual choke and return the electric choke and the fast idle lever as I didn't need it after all. I returned two days later to make my returns, same guys behind the counter, I explained that I need to return this stuff as it was not needed. I also explained that yes the packages we opened but never installed, they just said "NOPE, can't take them back." I explained the part list is in the packaging and we could inspect everything together and the would see that there is no wear indicating that I attempted to install the stuff and everything was accounted for. They just shrugged and said no, I said what about store credit? That was also a no... So the short and sweet of the whole story is I spent almost $500 at this place believing that because they have been in business in the valley for so long that this was the place to buy my parts from, turns out I was way wrong, I will never do business here again and I do not recommend that anybody does business with this awful outfit. I'll just stick to ordering from the internet and O'Reilly auto-parts. read more

Of you really want to feel like your a race car driver, this might be the place since you'll always have the "pit" crew working on your ride. They will fix all kinds of stuff you don't know or ask about and not fix stuff you specifically want done. Paid and exorbitant amount of money, only to return multiple times for things that should have been done right the first time. I specifically asked to check all bushings and belts. Yup they are good, except the bushing were dry rotted and and the suspension trashed 3 sets of "dustcaps" that should not cause my truck to drive like dooky when it's gone. They just replaced the bad bushing, not checking into the reason why they keep disentigrating. And the belts are glazed and cracked, even tho they said the belts are good. Had new turbos installed, but they missed 1 of the 2 main bolts, and since half missing is bad. I had to return twice to get 1 bolt installed, with flack from them about it possibly missing when I brought it in. But the 1st time I brought it back they took the turbos out and recalibrate and adjusted and reprogramed..... but still missed the same bolt?!? Had them look into steering and suspension. Drove ford sloppy before, but it's sensitive squirely now. I didn't ask em to even look into the A/C but they fixed it... even tho it worked fine. It does get 9 degrees colder than before so whatever. Very nice of them to change the oil too... even tho I had the ford dealership change it 200 miles before with full synthetic. I guess I didn't need that $200 oil change, so they charged me to dump it for conventional oil... if they even changed it. I had broken exhaust bolts that needed extracted, so I told them if there is a manifold problem, I would like to look into aftermarket headers, call and talk to me. Never heard from him, but I got brand new factory cast manifolds, not steel headers that won't snap my bolts again. Very expensive parts that I specifically advised him I wanted replaced with upgraded aftermarket... naw, I don't really need that, just keep factory garbage on that I didn't want. Had an unrelated transfer case detonation. When I called them to inquire, Mike said I should have checked and changed the fluid. And it rides bad because I have big tires. I had those tires on for a year and never a problem until they got ahold of it. When I advised the length of time they have been on and that they are only 1/2" bigger than the factory wheels he then blames them being 3 inches wider as a problem on the road. So how did they do the alignment?!? With a Flippin string and tape measure? So after 4 return trips to them, we had some words. I told Mike (shop supervisor ) that I paid a very large amount to have this done right and he said "you don't f***ING own me". Which I replied that I don't wana own him, I just wanted my truck fixed right the 1st time, and here I'm back for the 4th return warrantee issue. He then told me that this might not be the shop for me... I should have walked away... And I shouldn't have left my truck, because I lost a center cap on my front hub. Turns out they locked my front 4x4 locks manually, over tightening the bolt and the plastic cap fell off. That was 1 week after I left there, so it didn't trash my tire and fuel only ranked for a week. And now today I discovered they emptied the radiator fluid and replaced it with plain water. Other fluids look terrible, but thats my fault for trusting a machanic to check it for me while its in their custody. now I have multiple codes and my truck is now at the dealer getting looked at by some professional mechanics, not some toothless inbred hillbillies. So if you have gas car, you might find someone else but if you have a diesel, definately stay away (I heard another guy with a gas truck complaining while I was waiting for Mike on one of those return trips). They charged me more for the repairs than I paid for the truck, and I am wondering how many parts I bought that they didn't replace. Highway robbery plain and simple. $900 to have a starter motor and fan put in. The cost exceeded the estimate by hundreds of dollars, but the only call I got was when I they told me the work was done. Imagine my surprise when I found out that their shop labor rate is $125 an hour and my total to have two simple parts replaced was nearly $1000. Learn from my mistake, and stay away. read more

I then I asked the manager what a job like that on my SBC 350 engine would run, he said, "So you need your engine rebuilt?" I then said, "No. I just want to have a ring and valve job done". He almost interrupted, and his reply was, "You'll need an engine rebuild because we do things right!" At that point, I hung up. What ever happened to giving the customer what he/she wants? All this was done over the phone without even looking at my car or asking me what the symptoms were. Arrogant. Slow. Expensive. I understand that this is a repair shop and not the Hallmark Store, but what's the point in going out of your way to piss off a customer. Mike, I assume the owner, couldn't or wouldn't do the work on my Chevy truck. After a smart ass conversation with Mike about how long it would take (4 days to get parts.... for a Chevy... and two more days to perform the work), I decided to have my truck towed to Courtesy Chevrolet. Courtesy had it done the next day for half of what Mike quoted. Let's review. The DEALERSHIP was less than this repair shop. Two of my family members with classic cars have had similar experiences. I think Mike has plenty of time to think up clever put downs for his customers because he is bleeding business to other shops in town. He owns the retail shop too, so skip that as well. read more

Was charged for name brand parts and inferior parts were installed creating a oil restoration, after I took it to a real machine shop they explained the problems to me . If you order a part from Lopers' you will have to wait 3 to 4 weeks depending on how many times they lie to you, I was told 1 week then two then three and I still haven't gotten the part. The service really needs help, for being in business for so long I will say so long to them. read more
