We opted for classic gyros, although you can also get this sandwich with grilled chicken or falafel, with the fries, which have some sort of tasty coating and herbs. The gyros are large and filling! The kids' meal gyro is also large and came with a 20 oz soda, though the fries portion is a little bit smaller, so also quite filling - there are some tasty leftovers to enjoy the next day! I have wanted to come to Loops since hearing about it. It's best known for its gyros and pitas. They also have really good fries. It's not really nice inside, so I recommend a takeout order. The owner is pretty nice and patient. They specialize in gyros and pitas. I ordered the falafel pita. It's $6.50 for a Pita and s few dollars more to make it a combo. The falafel was crispy and soft on the inside. The toppings were fresh and plentiful. I would for sure order this again. The fries really are some of the best in Columbus. Overall a good place for tasty gyros. I used to eat authentic gyro in Chicago by my university. They were so good because it had lots of meat and tzatziki sauce. The gyro sandwich was dripping with juice and oil. The wrap was light fried. It was so good. The gyro at this restaurant was good but definitely not as good as the ones I had in Chicago. Let me start by saying that THIS PLACE IS LEGIT!! You will be hard pressed to find a much more authentic Chicago eatery outside of the Windy City (excluding the actual Chicago chains,like Portillos). The Italian Beef sandwich was awesome, with your choice of Hot or Mild Gardinera. They didn't have mozzarella, but wasn't going to ding them a whole star for that. The "Loops" dog is the equivalent of a traditional Chicago dog, and it is on point! They use steamed poppy seed buns, and Vienna sausage dogs. The French Fries, although not fresh cut, are made to order, and seasoned just right. If you are anywhere near this place, it's worth a detour to check out. One of my favorite spots in Columbus. I always get one of their gyros and they're very good. Not a traditionally Greek gyro but a nice Chicago spin on it. The fries are always fresh and delicious. Recently I decided to try something different and got the loaded fries and wow were they good. The chili on top with the cheese was incredible. I didn't want to like Loops. I honestly didn't get it. I didn't get that this is Chicago-style food. I didn't get their marketing, or the ugly orange/red bright signs that say "gyros" and "Italian beef sandwich" plastered on the building. But I was in Grandview on a Sunday and my first few choices were closed on Sunday, so I stopped by. Once I stepped inside, I got it. "OK, this is fast-food Chicago-style". (oh, I get it... "The Loop"... maybe you should put that on the outside of the building...) I got a side salad (plenty good) and an Italian wet beef sandwich (excellent). I learned that I don't like chopped Giardiniera (an Italian relish of pickled vegetables in vinegar and oil) on my sandwich, but absolutely loved the sandwich - a great sandwich roll piled high with a generous portion of moist shaved beef. I probably won't order the gyro here - there are plenty of really good gyro shops in town, and their spit of gyro meat looked very generic. But I'm dying to go back for a Chicago-style hot dog, and I promise I'll be back for the Italian wet beef sandwich. Give Loops a try. You've got to know what you're looking for because this place is kind of in a weird, busy intersection. I don't know if they're dine-in but I ordered delivery the other day. I got the gyro with extra tzatsiki sauce, a side of fries, and my buddy got the buffalo chicken gyro. While my gyro was tasty, I saw that the extra sauce wasn't really needed because it was drenched in sauce and made the whole thing soggy and messy. My gyro and fries were also lukewarm and it didn't SEEM to be because the delivery took long (they were actually pretty quick). My friend left his gyro at my place which I was glad to eat the next day. Wasn't a huge fan of the chicken or the buffalo sauce. Definitely upset my stomach a bit later so I'll refrain from that in the future. I'd like to give them a try again as their gyro seemed to have good flavor. I must have passed by Loops a thousand times going to Kroger on chambers and I never waned to stop in. I'm really into gyros and this place just didn't seem to be the place. So happy I decided to try it! I got a regular gyro and a side of fries. The fries were super good. Definitely some of the best I have had (they were a bit greasy but the girl working must have been new because she didn't shake the oil from the fry basket). The gyro was pretty big and meat/veggies were fresh and yummy. The sauce they put on was great, I'll have to get extra next time. Took me a while to write this review, but since I've moved away from Columbus, I STILL think of the chili cheese fries here at Loops. Made to perfection, their fries encompass everything I love: crispy fries, cheese, and amazing chili. I always order my chili cheese fries without mustard, and they've always been accommodating. One time, I remember I mentioned that I'd like it without mustard, but they forgot and my fries came out with mustard. I let them know, and they asked if I would like another one without mustard. I didn't want them to go through that trouble so I just ate them, but the staff there didn't want me to leave unhappy. They made me ANOTHER order of fries! Truly amazing. Everyone I've encountered here has been so friendly. I've tried the gyro rolls, the hot dogs, and their gyros here too. There's not much on their menu that I do not like. This place is spot on, I have had so many things. You need to get the Buffalo Gyro(bring napkins) it is one of the best buffalo things I have ever had. The other is the gyro rolls with the spicy dipping sauce. I would buy the sauce and put that on everything I eat. That alone is worth the cost of the whole meal. I've ordered from Loops many times. Lately it's a very hit or miss spot. The gyro, Chicago Dog, Italian Beef, fries, etc are all good--when they're good. Other times they're awful and basically inedible. Maybe it's the mandatory masks, short-staffing, or some other reason, but the employees are never welcoming. It's a very transactional experience at best, and you feel like an inconvenience to the employees at its worst. It's also often freezing inside the seating area and I'd never dine-in here. read more

I got delivery of the Italian beef with mild giardiniera ,sauce on the side. The beef was a bit chewy and very dry and the giardiniera added a hint of spicy that was perfect to me. The side of au jus was perfect and I could have drank a cup of that by itself, it was very soothing. I think the Italian beef would have been better as a dine in option where it could be fresh and hot. My sandwich arrived lukewarm and on soggy bread. I dont blame the Loops for that error I know it was because of the weather conditions and the fact that the restaurant is about 20 minutes away from my location. The city of da Bears, and the --can you believe it --da world champion Cubs, is not the city of da gyro in this modest Yelper's humble opion, or at least Loops doesn't do Chi-town any favors with their brand of Chicagoan Greek flatbread. To me it was a Lake Michigan size bore, a mediocrity fitting as much as the lake's name. Needless to say the gyros are not recommended. I'd go with their dogs, which I've tried before food truck style, which are prepared in the maner of the Windy City. Four stars all the way for the franks, but this is my first stop at their brick-and-mortar so take this rating for gyro only. Take note. Love the faux-Tudor digs that fits finely on the corner of Northwest and King. Cool looking as it is, part of the push to hide ugly lots in the back, it window shop its wares with a menu clean and large on its façade. Strangely, the front door is not an entrance, that is found on the King avenue side, but relegated to exit only conflicting with its street side designs. The inside is not very special, kind of chain deli like with chairs and a window side bar. It has an airy uneasiness, almost developed to psychologically compel you to eat and scram. It's not that enjoyable to me. Yet it is shiny clean and has some noticeable item with Chicagoan themes. I got a classic chicken gyro. It is filling but that's about all. I felt the tzatziki sauce lacked zest and the lettuce, onions, tomatoes were standard place. The pita was everyday, thick and bready, but had no it factor. In all, a simple gyro that just didn't make the grade to this tongue. Not a fan of the fries either, but this is subjective. It is those thick, breaded type. Though I highly suggest the cheese fries, a item I've enjoyed from their truck, but dumb me didn't order here. In short: go with the dogs. There is too many gyro masters out there for pita wrap to settle for less. read more

Loops deserves an update. Working across the street. I've had the opportunity to give Loops a few more tries since my first venture and they have made me a fan! I have a few favorites now. The Loops Nachos (sans olives). I love the deep fried pita with the (lets be real people) gyro style taco salad. Seriously good. Then there's my next fav the Kronos wrap, which is the chicken and gyro with onions, mushrooms, and provalone. The mix just works. I love the fresh taste of the chicken and sauted mushrooms with the gyro meat. It really works. Then my number one, the Jackson St. wrap, which is chicken with hummus, feta, and fresh cucumber. It's a great combo of flavors and the fresh cold cucumbers go great with the hummus, feta, and fresh grilled flavorful chicken. Of course, I still avoid the fire feta dip and tatziki, but the hotziki seems to work. I have also avoided their buffalo flavored items as it just makes me nervous to think buffalo with gyro. IDK! I've also has their Chili dog charred and Chicago dog steamed. Both were good, but I really don't know what a good Chicago dog is. Their chili is above average for a quick service place. Really great falafel and chicken lemon rice soup! We went on a Sunday afternoon, surprisingly there was no line. The staff was very helpful, and extremely nice. I got the falafel with tzatziki sauce and soup, my friend got a gyro. They both were the best we had eaten for years! The meats were cooked perfectly, and the small fried patties in my falafel were not heavy at all. The soup was creamy and filling, the side-sized bowl I got was enough for a small meal on its own. It's named for The Loop neighborhood in Chicago, and the decor includes clocks on the wall so you can see what time it is in Chicago and a few other places. After moving to Columbus from Chicago I've had people suggesting places to get a good hot dog. None of them have ever mentioned this place and I'm here to tell you this is the best place to get a Chicago style dog in central Ohio. I finally was able to try this place out after driving past it so many times. You walk in and you are engulfed by Chicago and Columbus pride. The prices here aren't bad at all. 2.75 for a hot dog? Awesome. 7 bucks for a beef? Not too bad. I tried their beef and regular fries. My significant other got a Chicago dog with fries. The Italian beef was good. I asked for it wet and sure enough I got it wet. The au jus was decent and beef itself was very delicious and moist. However I wish they didn't toast the hoagie. It would have absorbed all that au jus and would have given it much more flavor it could have had. I tried the hot dog and it was actually very good. I was a little thrown off by the diced tomatoes instead of the sliced tomatoes but whatever. Tomato is a tomato. If anybody has ever been to Portillo's in Chicago I have to say this is on their level. It has all the ingredients to be a Chicago dog. Poppy seed bun and all. The real winner at this place however were the fries. They had a nice crunch to them and a soft inside. Seasoned with herbs and grated cheese. These were delicious. Clark Street: There was too much going on in this gyro. All the onions and peppers drowned out the quality of the chicken and gyro. I enjoyed the huge chunks of chicken (when I could see them) as the meat was tender and had good flavor. FetaFire Fries: These are good and wish I could have these once a week. The feta appeared to be crumbled and cooked into the fries but the cold tomatoes took away from what could be an awesome product. Stopped in Loops one Sunday after catching a matinee over at the AMC. I had noted that they had a food truck at the Whitehall Food Truck Festival the day before and, unfortunately, I hadn't been able to run by even though the menu looked quite good. So, when my Yelp app pulled up Loops as being in the neighborhood, I made a beeline straight over. After careful study of many reviews on different sites, it seemed to me that the most raved about menu selections were the gourmet dogs, the fries, the gyro rolls, and the FetaFire grilled pita. First I ordered the Chicago Fire Dog along with the Loops Dog and a side of fries. The Fire Dog was pretty interesting. A made in-house gourmet "fire" slaw piled high over a grilled dog and some sport peppers. A mouthful and not bad at all. The Loops Dog was your basic Chicago hot dog, celery salt, pickle, tomato, etc. It was good too. And, finally, the fries were intriguing. I don't know what they season the french fries with after they deep fry them, but it added just a touch of something extra and made them so much better. Very unique and worth returning for. When I was finished, I ordered the FetaFire and gyro rolls to go and took them home. Several hours later, I had second dinner and, though cooled to room temperature, the pita sandwich was really very very good. Oh my gosh, I loved it. The gyro rolls, on the other hand wasn't great cooled, so I reheated them on warm roll setting in the microwave and (voila!) suddenly those weren't bad either. After a day of eating nothing but Loops, I confidently rate the items in this order: 1. The FetaFire Grilled Pita roll 2. The fries 3. The Gryo Rolls 4. The Loops Dog 5. The Chicago Fire Dog I would give five stars, but Loops wasn't perfect. The condiments station was understocked and the lady behind the counter wasn't all that friendly.
