Chicago dog and what is left of my fries. Dang kids

The big test of a restaurant is how the take-out food survives the trip home. Will it taste good or will it fail? You won't have to worry about that with this place. It was twenty minutes from when I got the food until I got it on the table for my family. The food was fabulous. The fries were nice and crispy and the seasoning was great. The dogs were soooo good. They labeled the boxes so I knew what was what. Always important when handing out food to hungry people. Give it a shot. You won't be disappointed.

Great place for a hotdog fix, a little sloppy and it's not the fastest place but the food is decent and they have a lot of opt

Regular order of fries. They seem to be cooked to order.

I was not very impressed. I think they dogs would taste better if the buns were steamed or toasted. They take the bun straight out the bag. The wiener was not up to temp so when you put cold topping on it, it's not very appealing. I'm from WV and the Hillbilly should have coney sauce, coleslaw, mustard and onion. I had high hopes because I love Borgato's.

So, second time here and it gets better. First time around had a Chicago style this time I went for the bratwurst and was glad I did. Got it with grilled cheesy onions and peppers with spicy brown mustard to die for. My wife got a hotdog with cheese, bacon, and jalapeños, she thinks of herself as a hotdog snob and loved it. My daughter went for the regular with mustard and ketchup (I know, I know). As for the fries the regular were fine, but you need the Junkyard fries in your life, Cheesy onions, coleslaw, jalapeños, garlic aoli, bacon, and the coney sauce was perfect. It was what Gold Star and Skyline chili wants to grow up to be. The staff is amazing, fast and friendly. Run don't walk to Junkyard Dogs.

I'm surprised this place isn't getting more buzz. This is a very casual place with lots of counter seating along with a large table. The menu is simple, with just a few options although you can customize. i got the Chicago and a junkyard dog,as well as junkyard fries. Everything was delicious and the portions are huge. the hotdogs are very tasty, but next time i am trying the wagyu.

Yes. One shouldn't eat hotdogs everyday... But if you're craving one, you can't go wrong in stopping by Junk Yard Dogs. Nice staff, good variety in menu. And the snap, boy the snap. 'Makes you look forward to trying the sausage or brat next time. The barrel tables are just a taaaad bit too short, or the stools too high, for food you need to stay close to while eating. Get the cheesy onion topping. Great crispy seasoned fries!

These are some delicious dogs! I tried the junkyard dog (of course) and an order of hubcaps. Both were tasty! I didn't taste much Buffalo on the potatoes but they were seasoned well. And the junkyard dog was LOADED.

Day 1, I walked in and ordered. I'm a big fan of Chicago-style hot dogs, having grown up in the Chicago area. I've been hoping for a good place to get the Chicago Dog. There have been a few around, some good, some not so good. Junkyard Dogs is the REAL DEAL, baby! The best Chicago dog I've had in years!!! Seasoned fries on the side. I am now a dedicated customer!

A new favorite of a local place that knows how to do things right! I am quite the connoisseur of chili dogs and this is one of the beat places I have ever had! They start off with all beef hotdogs and grill them to perfection on their grill which gives you that nice crunch when you bite into its awesome deliciousness. I had two dogs today. The first was the Hillbilly Dog topped with coleslaw and coney sauce. I added jalapeños for my personal taste. Next was the Junkyard Dog topped with coney sauce, cheesy onions (cooked on the grill), bacon, jalapeños, cole slaw, garlic aioli, and spicy brown mustard. If you are not a fan of all-beef hotdogs, they have options of Stadium Dogs (all pork), a vegan dog, and even an wagyu beef hotdogs. (Some may be a small extra fee) I did not order their famous hubcaps but will next time! One thing that I saw on the menu was Burnt Ends French Fries. French fries topped with burnt ends, bbq sauce, Cheddar cheese and scallions. Can you say heaven on fries? Still hungry? Try one of their milkshakes or floats. This place proves that old saying that the drive is worth the difference! If you are reading this review and don't eat here immediately, you are missing out and will wish you had filled yourself with this awesomeness instead of whatever disappointing meal or mediocrity that you settled for!

Chicago Dawg no celery salt stale bun regular hot dawg nothing special

I'm going to make this quick, the gentlemen at the front taking my order was pleasant and helpful. And that's the best I can say about this place other than the atmosphere is "ok". Food: regular "sized" beef hot dawgs nothing fancy and not bad tasting of course it's hard to screw up a hot dawg right? Quality: This is an area they miss I got a chill dawg and a Chicago dawg and again nothing special a regular beef hot dawg. Chill sauce is a bit sweet and wasn't even luke warm. The buns were horrible, not steamed, toasted, warm, soft or fresh for that matter. Matter of fact they were stale and hard, so hard they made a thud sound when you flicked your finger against it. See video Price: $7.00 for a hit dawg I expect the level of quality to be up there right.. WRONG. Bought 3 dawgs for a whopping $21.00. You're kidding right? Not a jumbo dawg or jumbo beef dawg.. just a Chicago Dog Hot Dogs regular beef hot dawg they bought whole sale and called it 5 star. Can you imagine if I would have had a family? I read the reviews and people do NOT be fooled the good reviews are probably people they know or who work there. Place was EMPTY Big NO NEVER AGAIN

KEWPEE vs. RITZY's As far as burger joints, go the original…read moreAmerican burger joint was KEWPEE up in Lima, Ohio, that opened back during the oil fields of ancient days when photographs were taken in black and white. The owner with no vision or appetite to franchise lost his original idea to the Wendy's hamburger joint as Dave Thomas took the idea Nationwide. If you're not in LIMA, the next best thing and maybe just something even a little bit better or at least different for sure, is RITZY'S in Columbus, Ohio, right in the middle of everything on high Street! The good: upgraded love to the buns here came from some fancy bread company. This is not like your average bun out of a bag that KEWPEE uses from a factory down the street. These are almost like a brioche bun that just didn't get toasted. That would be some next level they could put on it when they don't have an entire baseball team dropped off and in line to all get a Fitzys combo with fries and a Coke well actually you gotta get Dr Pepper around here. They don't have a Coke distributor ship. the bad: I gotta tell you the only thing I can find wrong with this place is that you want to be lucky enough to be in front of the bus bringing all their kids here to buy them all one double stack Fitzy's combo with Fitzy sauce and special melted cheese and bacon, along with the signature skinny fries that don't come out soggy but crispy every single time. I can't say I've ever been disappointed and got lame fries like other places. the ugly: well, I guess the ugly for this place would have to be the fact that you couldn't eat here every day or you might drop dead of a heart attack. It's not for Dr. Quinn medicine woman or Dr. Oz in his leather chewing Koehl dietary repertoire this is for MEN! Men that like to eat burgers. The food channel came through here and somehow got tricked down to the THURMANATOR hamburger which is half bread, according to The Report from my foodie friend David Aaron Rosenberg. Whatever you do, don't think about crispy, smash burgers with edges crunching at your first bite, all the way to your last bite, on buns that take into account every continuous bite within the five minute rule of the perfect hamburger. #5MinuteRule #NiceBuns #Smashburger #KEWPEEvsRITZYS The ambience of this place is your old-fashioned burger joint with that 50s feel standup tables against the wall window and some tables in the middle if you come with a group. Got my food fast, but I was in front of the baseball team that just showed up! #ProTIPritzys : if the line inside is really long, I saw people ordering from the parking lot and coming right in the front door by the street to get their order quicker. I don't know if they had just happened to Order before the whole baseball team showed up or if there's a little secret to get in the queue faster than the long line that's waiting. Yes you can order online.

The family and I stopped on our way through, I had the Ritz, which is a double smash burgers, toppings, etc. As I mentioned, the edges of the burger are actually crispy, the cheese was nice and melted, the bun was soft and chewy. Really nice! I also had a chili cheese dog. They really go for it with the cheese on these things, it's just mounded on there. The chili is a little spicy, not like hot, just warm, and goes great with the beef hot dog, and then the bun for this was perfect again, nice and soft but held up to the toppings well. My wife had a three way chili which is chili and cheese over spaghetti, which sounds kinda funky but she liked it! The kids had kids meals, one hot dog, the other a nice looking grilled cheese. Each kids meal also came with some great ice cream, or so I was told, I didn't try any. It was right around 1:00 pm on a weekday, and it was poppin in there, so make sure you plan to wait a bit for the food line depending on when you go, but it was worth the wait. It's kind of a retro throwback in there, a little bit of old school diner, so kind of cool to just hang out and read the old signs while you wait.

Free refills, except no lids or straws so you can't really take it with you. Condiment/drink area is too small, so it's hard to have everything with you, but the dining area is so far away you can't leave your kid or stuff there while you get sundries. Service was friendly but frazzled. They were shorthanded. Ordering was easy and our order was right, but I saw messed up ones, and the pickup line was pretty long. Dining area by the lake is messy, and geese and ducks hang around and will steal food.
