Came here for dinner on one of our nights in town. The "lookout" part was all taken, tables all filled, and can't blame them. It's a nice view and with nice weather in the Summer nights. We got two spots at the bar, that was also almost full. The burgers seemed very popular but after asking our bartender, she said the ribs were really good, off the bone" so we ordered that. Since we don't like too much sauce on them they put the sauce on the side and it was perfect. The ribs were exactly as she described them, tender, perfectly cooked. Fries that come with them were great too, and as side we got the suggested Brussels sprouts, and must recommend them too. They were delicious! The coleslaw wasn't our favorite but everything else was great. Casual atmosphere, with food options for all. read more

Stopped here with my family. OK, but not as good as other options in the area. Mostly burgers and sandwiches. I got their large chicken sandwich. If was good, well good but kind of bland. The fries were good, but my wife's onion rings were a little overcooked...as were all the onion rings orders.we saw go by us so that appears to just be how they do them. We started with and order of the buffalo wings and their brussel sprouts appetizer. The brussel sprouts were very good and the highlight of the meal. The chicken wings were cooked very well, tender and juicy, but the buffalo sauce was just and average sauce. Good, but nothing to make note of. Would we eat there again? Sure. read more

The burgers looked great in photos, but the experience was disappointing. While the pictures were aesthetically appealing, the food didn't live up to expectations. We initially tried to place a takeout order online, but the system was down. Since they don't accept phone orders, we had to go in person just to order, which was already inconvenient. Overall, it wasn't the best experience. Maple Bacon Burger - 2/5: The patty wasn't well seasoned, and the sauce was very minimal, so the sriracha aioli was barely noticeable. But the fries were the one thing they did well BBQ Brisket Sandwich - 1.5/5: Lacked flavor overall; the brisket itself wasn't seasoned Philly Cheesesteak - 1.5/5: Didn't resemble a true Philly cheesesteak and was light on meat, which made it underwhelming read more

We went for dinner and then back for lunch. Food was plentiful and service was good. There's a view of the slopes from upstairs, although interrupted by power lines. One of only a few places open for lunch near the ski resort in early July. read more

Very good burger. Lots o' fries. Service was excellent. Nice to be able to sit outside.l and also play Corn Hole. Great place for casual dining, and quantities were filling, while prices were reasonable. read more

Good pub fare and friendly service! The place is cute and has a ski & brew vibe. I had the turkey and bacon sandwich and really liked it. My companions had a burger and a chicken sandwich. All satisfying! read more

We came here tonight after checking it out on Yelp (we're visiting the area from NYC). We sat outside upstairs, which gave us a lovely view of the surrounding mountains as the sun went down. I had the fried chicken sandwich and my girlfriend had the veggie burger. Both came with a huge helping of french fries. Both dishes were solid -- they didn't knock our socks off, but they did the trick. Service was excellent. read more

The 3 stars is solely based on the food When I went it was really busy, but they still did a great job with the service. Albeit they did take a while for the food to come out and did forget my dish, but again, super busy and were very nice. No big deal since we got our drinks immediately. The tables and booths are very close together, definitely feels a little packed when multiple waitresses and people are moving around (we were in the back, but I think others had more space in the central area) Now for the food. Super duper bland, I got the fried chicken sandwich and it was crispy and crunchy, but the batter and chicken tasted like nothing. The chili could use a little spice and a more full flavor, but it was fine. I did like the tortilla chips that came with them. The fries were great, a big fan of steak fries. Others really liked their food, so it might be just me. I would say get their burgers since it did look good, but skip out on the chicken sandwich if you're into a more flavorful breading. read more

The bartender Christina was fabulous. She knew we were out of town. She suggested the Burner burger which was unbelievable great. And my wife had the chicken avocado campari salad. She loved it. Friendly service. I would go again. Plus a sports bar!! read more

This place has a beautiful view of the mountains. The food is also really good for a quick bite. I got the Cajun chicken wrap, pretzels and a spicy margarita. I really liked my margarita and the pretzels. The pretzels were soft and the mustard was really good and on the sweeter side. The chicken wrap was a little dry but it just needed more sauce. Our servers were amazing and super nice. They have a lot of seating inside and some picnic tables outside. I will definitely come back here for more food and drinks. read more

Food was typical bar fare and was okay. We loved the local sports bar feel and the service was great. It was busy for a Wednesday evening and a bus tour had stopped for dinner. read more

the food is OK - not great - but OK - was much better when it was a strip club back in 2002, but now it serves up a different menu

Lovely tavern looking out a Killington. We had a great lunch on the patio. Good sandwiches, and amazing fries and onion rings!

Extensive menu with nice add-ons available, great booths, inviting bar, and a pretty view from the balcony deck.

Ryan was our server ! Atmosphere great. Busy Friday night hit food quick. Soft pretzel sticks were great- fluffy and not oily or buttery!! Delicious.. great list of drinks alcohol and nonalcoholic. They even customized my ginger beer and pour it over cranberry and added lemon lime! The place was packed but our server was very attentive! read more

This place was exceptionally mid. We stopped by on Friday evening and the restaurant itself wasn't too busy. We were seated in the corner and we ended up moving to the bar because our server never showed up after waiting for more than 10 minutes. At the bar, we were able to order pretty quickly but afterwards it was so hard to get the bartender's attention. I ordered the chipotle chicken salad and I was pretty disappointed. It was a very small portion of lettuce and it just had tons of cheese and tomato. For $18, I expected more. When we were trying to pay our bill, it took a while for us to get the check and after we paid it took another long time to submit it and get the card back. Cannot recommend this place. read more

Came there late for lunch. Sever was prompt and very friendly. Took drink and appetizer orders right away. Brussels sprouts were yummy with a bit of chili kick. She ordered the burger and I the veggie burger. Both were prepared nicely and huge portions. Only downside is a 3% credit card charge fee. Not a fan and was not told ahead of time read more

Our food was really good and the staff were super friendly. Loved the atmosphere of the place too. We'll come back for sure.

Just ok- we got take out and it was ok. Wished it was better but it was also off season...

We really liked the atmosphere here. They have a game room that entertained my son. Our server was great and attentive. My son got the ribs, my husband the prime rib special and I got the tavern turkey substituting the fries with Brussels. All very good. Overall the experience was great. We gave it a 4 over a 5 because the prime rib came overcooked. It's their special so it was surprising to get it MW as compared for the M that was requested. read more

Fries were good, my chicken looked like it was fried, fried again and then one more time for good measure. The bacon and cheese were unrecognizable, told the waitress, she gave me $1.00 off at $17 meal. Took our waters before we were even done and never checked back on us. read more

The Lookout Tavern is a fun, casual spot that's great for a big group dinner, watching a game, relaxing after a long day of skiing without worrying about what you look like, drinking good beer/ciders and not spending a fortune on a meal. Though this isn't the type of place I typically frequent, sometimes nights like these are very necessary and just what the doctor ordered. Came here as a party of seven at around 8pm. We had actually planned on going to another restaurant in town, but there was a two hour wait, so we needed think on our feet. Somehow, Lookout had plenty of room (though it was still fairly busy) and was able to seat us pretty quickly. There are a ton of good beverage options here. I'd probably stick to beer and cider, because the cocktails leave much to be desired. I know one of our friends enjoyed a few Moscow Mules but he may not be as pretentious about cocktails as I am. Another one of our friends ordered a margarita which she said was undrinkable, so it clearly varies. To their credit, I ordered a dirty martini (yes, a bold move at a ski town tavern) which was quite good, and they fulfilled my request of extra olives which is always appreciated. I also had a cider with a shot of some apple liqueur in it (as recommended by our server), which was too sweet for my liking but a cool idea. Next time I'll just get the cider as is. Food-wise, lots of good options. Big menu, a lot of variety, and many dishes suitable for folks with dietary restrictions. I have a gluten sensitivity and they can do their burgers/sandwiches on GF buns, which is always exciting for me. Rarely do I get to enjoy a burger. To start, our table got the nachos as well as the crispy brussels sprouts. The nachos left some to be desired but the brussels were fantastic -- so good that we ordered another round of them after the first was demolished. The second round was a little too doused in the Thai sauce but still good. For my main, I got the Left Coast Cheeseburger with a side salad, which was really yummy. The burgers are made from a blend of chuck, brisket and short rib, which makes them extra flavorful and juicy. I honestly never eat red meat, but after a day of skiing how could I resist? read more

French onion soup was delicious. Always hit this spot when we are up here skiing. we will be back again. read more

Stopped into the Lookout Tavern on a Sunday night shortly before closing. Such a cute place with a great atmosphere. It was mostly empty due to the time but can definitely see it being packed on a Friday or Saturday night. The service was excellent, the mood was cozy, and the food and drinks were very tasty. We tried a Goombay Smash, which is a sort of rum punch, and Fiddlehead beer. Both were delicious. We also tried the chicken tenders and fries and the nachos grande appetizers. The portions are huge and the food is pretty good. The chicken was more tender than I expected. Overall, the Lookout Tavern is great value with good prices, huge portions, and delicious food and drinks. Definitely look forward to returning next time I am in the area! read more

My husband and I came to Vermont from Massachusetts for our one year wedding anniversary. The last stop we made was Killington so we decided to go yesterday to the Lookout Cafe. We were greeted, seated and Keith was our server. He was absolutely phenomenal and easily the best server we've ever had ANYWHERE. He was attentive, quick service, got us refills at the perfect time, just on the ball and kind. My husband and I came to VT during off season so there isn't a lot open, so we decided to come to the Lookout again tonight because we liked their food. We got Keith again, and he welcomed us back and asked if we wanted the same drinks from yesterday.. just incredible service and we will be back if we ever end up in Killington again. read more

You can't beat the view, that's for sure! They have outdoor seating up on the deck, as well as tables on the main level. Great view of the mountain in a very casual setting. We thought it was perfect for our first night in Killington as we wanted something low key and somewhat quick. We got a table that was set in (not right along the railing), which was nice as we weren't in the sun, but it was almost a little chilly under the powerful ceiling fan. No worries about being hot up there, even on the hottest summer day. We were a little turned off at the start because the woman at the welcome center told us they had happy hour from 3-6, 7 days a week (1/2 price wings), and gave us a pamphlet that showed the same. We arrived around 5:15, and we asked our server to confirm before ordering. After much deliberation on her part, she just wandered off and then said it ended at 5 pm. So we skipped the wings, everyone else was eating burgers and chicken sandwiches, so we went with those. We ordered the black and blue burger with bacon and onion rings, and "the Beast" chicken sandwich with fries. They were good, but not the best I ever had. Portions were small-ish - I usually can't finish a burger when I'm out, but we finished these no problem. The burger was juicy and good, I didn't taste a lot of Cajun seasoning but it was still good. I added mayo to "the beast" and it tasted exactly like a Wendy's chicken sandwich lol. I haven't had one in at least 10 years, but it all came back to me. Now I do enjoy a Wendy's chicken sandwich but for $13.95 I expected a little more from this self proclaimed "Killington legend". I don't know is so "beast" about it as it's fairly small and unimpressive, the roll is actually larger than the piece of chicken. Fries were good, there weren't too many, and we only got 6 onion rings, but paid a $2 up charge for them. Overall I found it to be very expensive. I'm not one to balk at prices at all if I feel like it's worth it, but the prices were disproportionate to the portion sizes. Citizens cider in the can was $9!! Burger with the added bacon and 6 onion rings came out to $18.50! I felt like we were paying peak season prices, but in August. $71 (pre tip) for a burger and a chicken sandwich, 2 beers/ciders each, and mediocre service seems like a bit much. I don't know if this is a tourist trap due to the view, but the woman at the welcome center had also recommended it. It's the kind of place that was fine once, but I probably wouldn't rush back. read more
