Longtime K-Town skier, first time at Choices. Found out about choices by random chance. What a hidden gem. Unbelievable dinner-food quality-price unmatched on access road. Had the rotisserie Tri-Tip steak and Cesar salad with grilled chicken. Perfect on both. Service was great and even the owner took the time to chat. Great customer service great food. Definitely a place to go when you want to enjoy a meal without dealing with the tourist traps that access road can deliver. Highly recommended. read more

This is the place that all the Killington skiers/golfers go. Why? Cuz we want to discuss the day, while enjoying good food and good company. Genuinely one of the worst experiences ever. I took a bite of my food and sent it back and got a new dish. They refused to take the original dish off the check. The Alfredo sauce tasted like actual piss and they're telling me I ate half the meal. No wonder this place was the only restaurant opened on Christmas Day. Stingy cheap and gross. Coming here for years and every time we are coming to Killington, our family is always looking forward to have at least two dinners here but Sunday brunch is also excellent. Escargot is probably one of the best in the country. Salmon fettuccini is phenomenal (small portion will be plentiful for one). Staff is friendly and works here since Claude was around. Choices is still as delicious as ever. We made our Killington return this winter and were so happy to find that Choices, despite the passing of Chef Claude, is still owner owned and operated. This is still the best restaurant in Killington with a variety of delicious pastas, meats and seafood options as well as homemade desserts. This place was decent. It was hard finishing a restaurant in the area that had a wide variety of options like this place. We came as a group of 8 and they were very accommodating. They are closed Monday-Wednesday so keep that in mind when considering coming here. Overall our service was good. The server came to check on us a few times to make sure we were doing okay and see if we needed anything. I gave this place 4 stars because our drinks were not great. So disappointing. The escargot was decent and the presentation was nice but lacked a real garlic kick or herb note that I usually find. The special of lamb was uninspired and bland. I expected the meat to have a Greek inspired flavor and unfortunately it was a weak reduction that did little to enhance the flavors of the lamb and rather fought for attention. Of the five small medallion of meat two were extremely sinewy and difficult to chew. The portion was extremely small, the cuts of meat appeared to come from a small loin rather than a leg. Flavorful Stuffed Sole with Crab and Pecans Had a wonderful dinner at Choices with the special Stuffed Sole with Crab and Pecans. The fish was tender and moist, with a thin and crunchy crust, topped with crab meat and pecans in a light lobster sauce added a nice texture that also went well with the small portion of rice. The green beans were cooked to a light al dente and seasoned with salt and butter. Complemented by a Caesar salad and plenty cheese slices. This was an enjoyable meal which was paired a Close Du Bois Chardonnay that went well. The Chardonnay had some citric notes and light oak. The restaurant is a comfortable location that can get noise if the seats are full. There is a bar room with high top tables in another room for overflow that can be more casual. Food isn't inexpensive but seems worth the price. The Monkfish special was $29 and the class of wine was $10, but most wines were in the $8 range. read more

This place was an amazing Yelp assisted find. We were bar hopping, then came in and sat at the bar, they have a pretty good beer selection. Decided it was time to grab some food and get ready to settle in for the night. Bartender was good, very personable, and explained the menu. We grabbed a beer and looked over the menu. He poured some cheezit (?) and M&M snack mix combo....Which is different and in a very good way! I asked him about the Calamari pasta (not sure real name). He explained it, but I could envision it. He said man its really good, you should try it. Boy am I glad I listened! I have always seen calamari like rings and either deep fried or in soups/broth. This was like 3 fish filets but they were calamari. Pan fried and then soaks in the lemon broth, and it was delicious! Homemade pasta cooked al dente.....Its the things dreams are made of! It slowed down the drinking, and that was just fine with me, the food was worth it!! read more

My husband and I headed out late for dinner the night before the eclipse. Two places we tried were full and not taking more customers. Choices took us. The food was fantastic. My salad with buttermilk dressing was fabulous. My husband would have liked more blue cheese in his dressing but said it was good. My vegetable medley of summer squash, broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots were perfectly al dente and all the food was piping hot. Excellent mashed potatoes. Tri-tips had a nice gravy. My husband got the Cajun chicken pasta (they make their own pasta) and he loved it. Maple creme brûlée had lovely texture and taste. Our waiter was running around with all the customers but he managed to be on the ball on all points. It was past closing time and I did want dessert but they had been working hard and I wanted to respect closing but they said it would not be inconvenient for us to stay for dessert. So generous of them. The modern artwork throughout the restaurant was interesting. One picture looked a little Like and eclipse! This was a great restaurant and I definitely recommend it. I especially appreciate them taking us in when, like others, they could understandably have turned us away at 8:10 pm on such a busy night. read more

It just wasn't great. I had the shrimp and scallop Neptune. It was so watery. When I cut into the ravioli it spilled into the "sauce" and lost all flavor. The tomatoes were the cardboard variety you buy in the supermarket in February. Presentation was not appealing. The service was good and we had the chocolate mousse cake for dessert, that was good. We came to Choices for dinner with the family -3 adults and 3 kids and had a great experience. The food is very good and the service is very good! We we're greeted by the host and by our great server Steven! The food is good and the menu offers a great variety. We ordered the escargot, beef rilletts and calamari apps all were great. For dinner we had steaks (cooked perfectly to the desired temp), veal special, salmon and the steak and cheese. Steven took great care of us and was patient with our kiddie guests at the table. Solid dinner option right on the strip. Everyone was super friendly that worked there and service was great. Inside decor is a tad dated, but overall was warm and inviting. Food was great! I had the blackened chicken pasta with vegetables. Good size portion and plenty of chicken, perfectly seasoned. My husband had the duck breast, which was cooked perfectly and was very filling. Coconut cream pie was loaded with coconut and homemade. Huge slice! The menu here is very eclectic and offers more interesting options than most of the other restaurants in the area. Based on the conversations of those around us, seems to be the place where the locals go for a nice night out. Really enjoyed this place. The food was tasty and the atmosphere was busy even for a holiday weekend. I recommend going in the door and walking right to the bar, there are tables there and you can order the full menu and watch tv. Perfect. Each of us go the filet, which we all really enjoyed. An excellent restaurant. Decor and ambience were simple - not flashy or kitschy. Service was reasonably prompt. Quality was high - maybe best exemplified by the humble house salad, which was perfect - fresh, crisp and tasty greens in the middle of February. Little things, done right, impress me. Three of us were there for dinner. We had the rotisserie sampler, the duck special and the fettucini; it was all delicious. I love fresh-made pasta, and this was the real deal. My only quibble was with the Key Lime pie, which wasn't as tart and limey as I like it. But it was still quite good. Finally, my lovely wife left her purse on her chair as we were leaving. We ordered the calamari, and for a second after biting into it thought they brought out mozzarella sticks. Not the usual rings and tentacles. My Shrimp Florentine was undersalted. Portion size was usual. But the entree Salmon Fettuccini my daughter ordered was enormous. Wished the wait staff could have better articulated portion sizing. First time here. As soon as the appetizer of potato pancake with smoked salmon and applesauce was served, we knew there was a Chef in the kitchen and not just a cook. Now there are some fine cooks out there, but the chef knows presentation and pairing. Ok enough snobbery. The food was great and service was excellent. Large cocktails mixed liberally. I have been going to Choices for over 10 years. If you can get by the attitude of the hostess, the rest of the staff is top notch. Choices is by far the most consistent restaurant on the hill. Something for everyone including nachos, burgers, and one of the best Cajun chicken and vegetable fettuccine dishes anywhere. Go early and sit in the bar- it's a weekend warriors locals hang out but as the night goes on during the weekends, the "hunting" begins if you know what I mean. read more

We started with nachos, I had a house salad with creamy buttermilk herb dressing & had the fettuccine with shrimp, pesto & primavera veggies. BF had the chicken mushroom barley soup & Cajun chicken pasta...not nearly as spicy as advertised! YUM. We liked everything so much that we forgot to save room for the cheese plate and dessert. All the food was fantastic, and our stellar server, Amy, might be my new best friend. I can't wait to go back. Minor gripes: Prices seem high for the area (used to paying the same for similar, but down in NYC/Westchester.) Decor is a bit dated, but if that sort of thing annoys you then we can't hang. By-pass the hostess...didn't see her when I walked into Choices solo...and headed straight to the bar to eat solo. The food is amazing! Like others have commented, the place is full of locals...I was the only tourista! Nice wine list...and nice priced. Trish at the bar couldn't have been nicer and more helpful! Handmade/housemade fettucine! I couldn't decide between Veal special or a pasta...so Trish suggested substituting pasta for the potato/rice offering. How nice! DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!! I'll start with the food: Out of nine dishes ordered, 2 were inedible(chicken fingers and curly potatos for kids), 5 had no tatse or flavour( for example escargo or blackened fish), 2 dishes were very good(lamb rack and cajun fettucini). But where this restaurant "shines" is the service: it's horrible. I've called to reserve a table for nine, the person on the other end told me that they don't accept reservations, which is fine. He also mentioned that they have some big parties and they will hardly have that big table in a while. So we drove there in 5-10 minutes and I asked the lady for two tables, possibly close to each other. Meanwhile the place has become almost empty, and I asked her to change us to one big table. She said that we have asked for two tables and it's absolutely not possible to change. By the way, they've been in opposite corners in the empty restaurant. Then we waited for an hour for our food (the waiter was good though). So if you need good mood don't go there, and don't order any kid's food. read more

We were up at The Beast for a few days of skiing and someone recommended we have dinner at Choices; their opinion was that it was the best restaurant in Killington. It was a Saturday night and we did not have a reservation (not sure if they take them) and the pony tailed maître'd, who was extremely friendly, said so we had to wait about 30-40 minutes to be sat, which was the case. The food was really good, probably if I was not a spoiled NYC foodie (man I hate that word) I probably would have given the food 4 starts. The escargot was great, the trout and salmon salad was wonderfully regional and refueled us perfectly from a day on the slopes. I liked the soup of the day, carrot ginger, but my wife thought it was too sweet, the filet of sole entree was done in a simple way that avoided incumbering the natural flavors of the fish. Service was perfunctory, we gathered that the waitress was having a tough day and us being the last table of the night was not exactly an honor she cherished. All said and done, I have not eaten at enough restaurants in Killington to say that Choices is best restaurant on the mountain, but I have a feeling that this might well indeed be the case. We came here on a recommendation of the lovely owner of The Mogul Saloon down the road. She raved about Chef Claude, and her recommendation did not disappoint. We were so pleased with everything from how pleasant we were greeted, to our friendly waitress and absolutely delicious meal! We started with beverages, wine and beer, simple. Next we ordered the crab cake appetizer. It tased so fresh, not too much filler and had a tasty shrimp glaze drizzled over it. I chose the salad with garlic buttermilk dressing. The salad was plentiful and served in an interestingly slanted bowl. Hubby got the split pea soup with ham. It was thick and creamy, perfectly seasoned. Our entrees consisted of the swordfish with mashed potatoes and green beans, and salmon covered with a fresh sautéed spinach and a balsamic glaze, with rice and green beans. Let me just say, the mashed potatoes were AHHmazing! So creamy and buttery, and so fresh. Everything was fresh and delicious. Salmon was seriously cooked to perfection and there was no after taste from the spinach (YAY!). We ended the meal with dessert: key lime pie and a chocolate cake with a white and chocolate mousse. The only way to describe them both: sinfully delicious. We were so pleased with this meal and the great service we received, I wanted to share with you. If you are looking for a good meal after a day of skiing, hiking or just riding along the mountainside, you should really check out this place! read more

Arrived in Killington at 5 today and tried to research good places to eat on Yelp only to find many of the restaurants closed for the season. We settled on Choices and never looked back. We had a great waiter who provided excellent service and repeatedly asked if we needed anything. I got the calamari medallions, because it was so unique, and my cousin got the shrimp and scallop neptune. Both dishes were wonderful and we ate every morsel. We loved everything, including the corn chowder soup. We wouldn't hesitate to go back, and it was a big improvement from our dinner in Manchester last night. read more

I've only had brunch at Choices and so can't comment on the dinner but brunch wise this is as good as it gets in Killington. The portions are big and you get a lot for your money. The service is pretty nice too. My favorite part is the various cornbread that comes with the food. I'll definitely try this place for dinner next time, especially after I heard our hotel shuttle driver say it is his and his wife's favorite restaurant in the area. read more

We were looking for a dinner place during a weekend at Killington and decided on Choices after some positive Yelp reviews. It's not a huge or wild place, in fact it was quite empty at 6:00 on a Saturday night in peak ski season. The menu was good with a nice mix of $25 entrees and then $10 burgers and sandwiches. Most importantly the host and the waitstaff were extremely pleasant and when we were just checking out the menu they didn't pressure us at all, despite the empty restaurant. The food was tasty, but nothing incredibly special. We all opted for sandwiches. The burger was basic with an oddly shaped oversized bun. The curly french fries were good, but could have been crispier. The chicken sandwiches seemed to be more successful than the burger. A few local craft beers on draft and a decent looking cocktail list. read more

I would rate choices a 4 star if wasn't for the numerous people saying that it's the best place to eat in town. The service was not good, and the food was okay. The server forgot a few items in our order and seemed to have too many tables. He also servered one of my table members by reaching infront of one of the other members of my party. I had the prime rib, which was done rotisory style and was displayed in the front. It looked great! It was an average prime rib in taste though and needed salt. Price was right though.
