Have come here the last two times I've been to Barcelona and would recommend it to anyone in the area looking for a solid no-frills dining experience. Not as busy as some other restaurants, but the food is excellent and the service is fast - important if you're doing a tapas crawl. Highly recommend the gambas and shishito peppers

I didn't try everything our group of four ordered, but I heard good things about ibérico sliced ham, grilled steak, calamari, & even the burger. However, no one cared for the chicken skewers. They raved about the potatoes with chorizo & egg so much that I was influenced to try them; no regrets giving into peer pressure, this dish was super flavorful. I liked all three shrimp tapas (crispy, garlic, & ajillo), as well as the patatas bravas, potato omelette, & ham & cheese croquettes. To add color to my plate, I ordered grilled veggies with romesco sauce. We ended with a chocolate dessert drizzled with olive oil & salt. I'm sure each tapas bar in Barcelona is even more amazing than the next, but after a 19-hour travel day & a late-night arrival, I was pleased with this one. Beautiful outdoor seating where we enjoyed warm weather & energetic passers-by. Friendly, efficient service from our lovely Filipino waiter. A fine recommendation from our hotel's front desk staff.

Fried egg with potatoes and chorizo from "La Rioja" with incredible homemade ham croquettes and roja sangria

On my ventures to find amazing Spanish tapas, I happily stumbled upon Lonja de Tapas! The Homemade ham croquettes ( 4.90 € ) are an absolute MUST! They are exploding with flavors and just feel like you died and went to cheesy, gooey heaven! I also ordered the fried egg with potatoes & chorizo from "La Rioja" ( 6.90 € ) which was delicious. Perfectly cooked egg atop potatoes with a dollop of authentic chorizo... mmmm! I couldn't have had a more enjoyable lunch on a beautiful April day in the heart of Barcelona!

Great place! We came for a mod day food break and we weren't disappointed. The tapas were great. This is a cute quiet place worth stopping in.

Grilled duck foie gras with ginger bread. Neither component was very good.

The Applebee's of tapas. Do you want to eat at Applebee's after flying all the way to Spain? 'nuff said.

We had a great lunch at Celler de Tapas, so we knew that Lonja de Tapas would be just as good. The food was delicious. We ordered a variety of tapas from the menu. English menu was available and the waiters also spoke English. We had the following: - Tomato bread - I liked this tomato bread compared to La Plata. The bread was toasted and lots of yummy olive oil infused with the tomatoes. - Potato and egg with foie gras - My husband liked this dish a lot! The foie gras was not as good as his dish at El Quim, but it wasn't bad. - Eggplant, artichokes, and sundried tomatoes - So awesome since they were marinated in olive oil. - Shrimp in casserole - Out of all of the tapas, this was disappointing. The shrimps were really small. - Scallops with asparagus and peppers - Pretty good. - Tomato salad with smoked salmon - Loved this salad. The heirloom tomatoes were awesome. The red onions weren't overwhelming too. Loved the smoked salmon. It was an interesting combination of soy sauce flavors with the smoked salmon. - Crispy potatoes with spicy sauce - Complimentary which was delicious. - Octopus with potatoes - The octopus was actually fatty, but it was good. We spent around 48 euros for dinner which is pretty pricey, but at least we liked the food.

Foie gras burger was 10 stars !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Foie gras burger was hands down the BEST lunch near the Picasso Museum. Perfectly cooked resting on top of sea salted potato in a delicious olive oil. Heaven. The olive oil they use is magical pixie dust. Service was slow at first, but once they submit the order via wireless device, food comes out like the Jetson's cartoon. Our server brought out complimentary patatas bravas without the mayo aioli for the kids. Bravo for the bravas !! Extensive wine list and menu "del dia" included, appetizer, entree, & dessert for 9.95 Euro. Completely worth it. Outdoor seating is the usual + 15%, but if you sit inside you will enjoy the modern lighting and decorative varnished wooden repurposed wine crates.

What a random find this place was! My original intention was going to this other restaurant in the Gothic area, but the menu was entirely Catalynan and a bar setting, and it just wasn't right for a lunch setting with my family. We veered off and found this gem. What drew our attention to this place was their lunch special: 3 courses + drink for 9.95 Euros only if you inside but we had no problem with that. I ordered the calamari, beef filet, and chocolate/marscapone dessert and of course a white wine. I really enjoyed each dish, and it was quite a good serving size! I was leery that they may have downsized each dish because of the special lunch deal, but I was so full afterwards. My favorite dish was the beef filet as it was cooked perfectly and it just broke apart with great seasoning and flavors. It was spot on. I also really enjoyed the dessert. I don't often eat things with marscapone but glad that I got to have some on this trip! Definitely coming back for this lunch special!

Great tapas. We had grilled vegetables, fried calamari and Pulpo Gallego. Everything was delicious.

I really enjoyed this place. There was a group of 10 or so of us, all exchange students. The waiter was extremely patient and accommodating. I ordered the prawns which were simply amazing- lightly and perfectly fried. No need to peel these bad boys, just eat them whole (that's how good). The mojito was also extremely fresh, I just wish there had been a bit less ice. A bit pricy, but good portions and quality. I would definitely go back.

    Tapas for everyone

Cool little place that we stumbled upon during a Gothic stroll. The prices weren't right, but the variety of tapas were what we were looking for. Tip Try a little of everything. I am sure there is something that most will like. Shrimp was a safe hit for us.

I thought this place was decent and above average. Cool ambiance and good service. It's pricey but most of the restaurants in the area are too. It's not fast food tapas like some others have said. It's better than that. An overall nice place. Try it.

    The kickoff!

While with our group, we were treated to a wonderful lunch. The location was amazingly difficult to arrive at. This was our introduction to the Gotic area in Barcelona. The restaurant is an artist's thought. The atmosphere is right out of an old movie. Dark, quiet and a rest from the hustle outside. Our menu was prepared ahead of our arrival. So the menu was also planned with excellent care. Sun dried tomatoes with parmigiana, artichokes with pesto olive oil. Green peppers with Maldonado salt. Crispy coated prawns and homemade cod croquettes. Never, with the exception of business meals have I ever had such a delicious experience. And this was part of a trip! Lunch, wine and excellent conversation rounded this experience. There was a small and for me, not needed dessert. Three chocolate ice cream. Three 3 count them 3 types of chocolate. I really love this place.

A good tapas company, they have a lot of different to choose between, and changes the menu. Must try the burger with foie gras.

Ziryab seemed to fit the bill, so we made plans to stop here during our first night in the city. Ziryab is located close to the Gothic Quarter, on side street. It's kind of inconspicuous from the outside, but the interior gives way to a really welcoming space. The restaurant is separated into two main areas, with an earth-tone color scheme that has a rustic, almost cave-like aesthetic. The high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows keep the dining room open and spacious. The tapas menu had a good selection, and we decided on several items: pan con tomate, sweet potato rolls, chicken cannelloni, bacon-wrapped figs, croquettes, falafel, and a charcuterie board. All the tapas were great - my favorites were the chicken cannelloni, pan con tomate, and the charcuterie board. The cannelloni especially was a standout - definitely a unique dish, and the chicken was super flavorful. We opted for dessert, and got the feta whip cheesecake - this was great as well. The combination of tang and sweet was a good finisher to our meal. Service was great - everyone was friendly and our dishes were served at a good pace. Overall, I'm glad I tried out Ziryab - the tapas were delicious and atypical of ones you find elsewhere in Barcelona. I would have no qualms returning here for another meal.

I had no idea how huge and elegant the restaurant was until I went inside to use the bathroom before leaving. We were there just after 7 pm so it wasn't as busy as I imagine it will get later, because in Barcelona, people don't have dinner until 9 or 10 PM. We ordered fresh salmon with dill, coroquetas de jamón iberico, a cod fritter, and chicken cannelloni with foie gras and black truffle sauce. We also ordered the pan with tomate, of course to soak up the truffle sauce. The cannelloni was amazing! I mean it melted in your mouth amazing!! After our snacks... We ordered dessert. We ordered their homemade Belgian chocolate ice cream, which is hands-down, the best chocolate ice cream I've ever eaten. And we also ordered their version of a crème brûlée called crema Catalonya! Both desserts were amazing, however, I highly recommend the Belgian chocolate ice cream. Overall, the experience was amazing and I hope to pop in again before we leave. Enjoy!

Both my son and I are very picky about Lebanese food having been spoiled by the excellent Lebanese in our home town Los Angeles, so we ordered with trepidation. The very first must-try dish immediately set our minds at ease: please, do yourselves a favor and order their Fatoush salad. It's done so right, juicy tangy, bursting with flavors and the pita in the salad is made into a curly flower and gives a delicious crunch. We liked the dish of garbanzo and yogurt a bit less, as it was quite heavy and lacked flavor. My son was very pleased with shish tavouk with chicken, and I loved my halloumi dish. The service was slow (as everywhere in Barcelona) but it was efficient, and our Egyptian waiter had good recommendations for everything. He was funny and personable.
