Ordered a cake for my 1 year old birthday on 8/13/2022 for pickup on 8/20/2022. The lady that took my order put "pickup on 8/13/2022." Most places only have the pastry so I LOVE that it has the cake underneath. The cream pairs perfectly with the fresh fruit! It's affordable, the people are very kind, and I love this cake for all occasions. A small is enough for us usually! It's about a half sheet size and feeds enough for 15 (or more). Called Long Phung the morning of for my order on the and the lady who helped me over the phone was super nice and was able to commit to an evening pick up time. Everything was ready by pickup time, our 6 inch durian cake cost $35 and $1 for candles. The pick up system is you telling them your name, phone number, and price they quoted on the phone. It was easy to pick up. The bakery looked to also offer fruit cakes and baked goods which smelled great. They also had a bunch of orchids for sale within different price ranges. Now for the cake, we got it in a box that didn't fit which is strange for a bakery but we thought maybe they ran out. We had our lid slightly up and held our cake the drive home. When we finished dinner and pulled the cake out and were excited. However, the cake was not tasty. :( I wish I knew they used frozen durian because it didn't taste very edible, the durian was stiff, hard, and dry almost like freezer burn. I called the Long Phung Bakery a few days prior to put an order for the fruit tart quarter sheet cake, but encountered a super rude worker. She answered the phone, I asked my ONE question and she responded with, "quarter sheet no need to order" and hung up. 1/5 stars Picked up the cake around 11 am on Saturday morning and they had 4-5 quarter sheet cakes available. To be on the safe side, I would just call every time, regardless of the cake size. The prices are decent. Cash or debit only. I cut the cake pieces slightly smaller, so the quarter sheet fed 10 adults and 2 kids, with a 2 small pieces leftover. Fruit Tart Cake had a layer of sponge cake, crispy puff pastry, glazed fruit on top and cream on the edges. This review is long overdue! Don't be discouraged by this place. It is a bakery and flower shop rolled into one. It is also located in one of the most hectic Vietnamese shopping centers in the area so 1. Park far and walk or 2. Be prepared to get dropped off to grab your cake and then get picked up by someone. Their sheet cake is delicious - it is made for every single occasion: birthdays, celebrations, graduations, anniversaries, etc. etc. My favorite part is the crunchy, crispy, wafer like layer!! It's proportioned to everything else in the cake. The sponge cake is very moist, soft, and isn't too sweet. Their fruits are also fresh - during strawberry season, we order it with just strawberry because some family members have fruit allergies and have never had a problem with the ladies who take our orders. A $26 price tag for a cake that feeds up to ten people is very reasonable. Hoped to inquire as to how often the cakes are made daily and could I have them made-to-order. No such opportunity as the owner/manager engaged in lengthy conversations with Vietnamese speaking guests despite seeing me wait patiently by the counter for a few minutes. I love patissieres in general and make it a point to try as many pastry and cake shops as i can. I think the best fruit cake i have ever tried was Paris Baguette's white cake that's sort of like an angel cake with fresh cream and strawberries. I remember that we had purchased that once for hubby's birthday, many years ago and loved it. So this year for hubby's very important 45th birthday i wanted to find something reminiscent of that fresh cream cake from Paris Baguette. I wanted something popular, delicious, and well loved. All the 5 star reviews and amazing looking pictures of this bakery helped me decide that this was it. This was THE perfect cake i was looking for and that not only did it look amazing, but it apparently tastes just as amazing as it looks, if not more. On the way home to SD from visiting our in-laws i stopped in really quick and picked up the 1/4 sheet for $35. Cash preferred but they will take credit cards as well. The bakery itself is very small and kind of busy. There's a lot of orchids everywhere and other flowers, and only that one tiny little display with different sizes of the fruit cake portrayed for you to look at. And while they do sell other cakes, i truly believe the star of the show is their fruit cake. I could tell by how busy it was when i walked in, that i had made the right decision. On the way hope from LA we ended up getting stuck in traffic and our 1 hour and 20 minute drive ended up being 2 hours and 30 minutes instead. We found out later that it was because a small airplane had landed on the freeway and that was what had caused the traffic jams. I was honestly super worried about the cake and thought that it mad probably melted and was a mess by the time we got home.....But oh my goodness, it had actually traveled really well and made it home in one piece, safe and sound! And although we weren't able to enjoy it within an hour from picking up while it was still fresh and the crunchy layer hadn't softened, we did end up eating it the next day and it was still amazing. I can honestly see the hype about why everyone raves about this cake and how it tastes so good. It's just like eating a fluffy cloud while floating in the sky. It's light, fluffy, not very sweet, and literally just feels like you're eating fluff. And i'm not talking marshmallow fluff...just imagine grabbing a cloud from the sky and eating it. Although we live in San Diego and aren't able to come up to LA often, i will definitely make sure that Long Phung is one of regular stops when we are up here again. read more

I looked like a lost duck driving around in circles in the SAME LOT trying to find it, because a) the GPS pin point is oddly placed on the map and b) there are SO MANY plants in their store front (I got distracted)!! The lady speaks English and Vietnamese and will gladly write on the cake for you. The fruit cake was layered with phyllo dough, vanilla sponge cake, custard, whipped cream, and fresh fruit. This is the best sheet cake I've tasted so far. The sheet cake has a thin sponge cake at the bottom with a crunchy puff pastry-like layer over it then followed by whipped cream on top with fresh fruits (mangoes, grapes, strawberries, kiwi, blueberries) and possibly-canned fruits (pineapples, peaches). There's also whipped cream on the sides which has a less creamy taste than the one on top. If you like cake that's not too sweet, cake that has fruits, cake that has different textures in it (soft sponge, crunchy puff layer) then I highly recommend you try this cake. They have available sheet cakes that you can purchase right away and they also offer putting inscriptions on it. The cake is placed in a cardboard box and they add a serrated plastic cake cutter which is sturdy enough to cut through the puff pastry layer. Buy only what you can consume in 2 days. Otherwise, the crunchy puff pastry layer gets soggy and the cake won't be as good. The store looks primarily like a floral shop and a bakery second. The flowers are pretty. You can buy the flowers and cake for a party. They also sell cupcakes with no icing. It tastes like the sponge cake layer on the bottom of the sheet cake. Buy more than one--it's good on its own.
