I personally had such a great experience with this bakery - I was in the area looking to get a last minute custom birthday cake for pickup the next day and saw Final Touch Bakery was conveniently located nearby the Asian Garden Mall on Google Maps. They thankfully picked up as soon as I called. I asked if next day pickup was possible and to my relief, they confirmed it was and they were open on weekends. I saw their online menu had a good variety of flavors I could try, though for next day the only available cake was vanilla sponge cake, which was still really good and not too sweet. The texture was light and fluffy, not at all dense, and easy to cut through. I chose a matcha filling and the flavor was solidly matcha, which we loved. I asked what designs were available for next day and they patiently provided the different options of flowers, polka dots, or seashells and catered toward female or male, and adult or child, suggesting real flowers over sugar flowers for adult female. I chose a blue color and appreciated that they even asked what shade of blue (lighter, medium, darker) and was asked what writing I wanted, then confirmed my pickup time the next day and put down a $10 deposit. The next day for pickup I wasn't sure what to expect but it actually turned out gorgeous. Since my friend is a baker, I was nervous what she'd think but she loved it as well. They have a small lot outside the bakery, which is cozy and cute with great natural light inside. It took awhile to get someone at the front but they did amazingly with the cake, even adding little sugar pearls and gorgeous script with hearts. The full quote was $55 and considering all the custom flavors, colors, design, and writing, even the smallest size was enough to feed 10 people with leftovers. Overall, the cake was light, delicious, not too sweet, beautiful, and turnaround was quick. They made a custom cake really easy to order for someone who didn't have a specific design in mind and made it look intricate despite having just one day to put together. I was really happy with how smooth the process was, how reasonable priced the cake is, and the great texture and flavor. I had been stressed out about finding somewhere to accommodate the timing but was so grateful they made it happen. It'll be my go-to birthday cake ordering spot now for OC. Thank you! read more

I usually order cakes from this place for birthdays ,  either for my friends or my friends' kids,  and I've been pretty happy with them. The cakes always look really beautiful. I like the colors and the way they decorate very eye catching and perfect for celebrations. Taste wise, it's good too, not overly sweet, which I personally like, and guests usually enjoy it. I've been ordering from them for years now, mostly for birthdays, bridal showers, and small celebrations. The price is a bit on the higher side compared to other bakeries nearby, but for the presentation and taste, I think it's still worth it. Their cakes have become a time honored tradition and it's not just how beautifully they decorate their cakes but the signature buttercream on their traditional layer cakes are like butter. Literally like butter and I'm addicted! The thick layers of buttercream give me those good chills when I take a decadent bite of their indulgent slices of white cake with fresh berries. The berries add just the right amount of acidity to cut into the rich buttery cream frosting. What I like most about the frosting is that it's not too sweet, either. Just right. Every Christmas we order two cakes, a traditional buttercream and berries holiday cake and a Yule Log aka Buche de Noel. The latter is a mocha cream Swiss roll with swirls of mocha buttercream frosting surrounding the roll. It's adorned with ornamental holiday decorations and marks the spirit of the season. Absolutely horrible. We've been going to them for YEARs but in the recent years they've been going downhill. Their cakes have been dry and their designs are getting ugly. I ordered my son's baptism cake here recently and they charged me $240 for this ugly cake. They said they couldn't give me the border design exactly which is fine but the color is so different. The writing is also so ugly, like it was written but a toddler. The color in the inspiration pic is so much lighter and classier. The color in the cake they gave me looks so TACKY. They blamed it on the first picture saying it has filter. If they can't do the color then dont tell me you're able to and then charged me $240 for a cake you couldn't make. Even if you can't replicate the color then at least give me a prettier blue color not this tacky blue. Looks like whoever worked on it has absolutely no taste. They should be fired. This completely ruined my theme. Utterly disappointed in them. I will never ever come back here ever again. read more

She said she couldn't hear me well and said she would call me back okay that's fine. She calls me back and I say "hi I was wondering if I could order a cake". Mind you I've never ordered a cake and I didn't know if there was a procedure. With so much attitude she goes "okay what cake, basic, design?" and I go "oh a basic one please" and she goes "you know what I can't hear can you go into a different room" I look around i'm in a room by myself I go " I don't know what you want me to do i'm in a room by myself" so I have to initiate the idea of emailing her and she goes "text ! text!" okay I do no answer. Very disappointed. The cakes here are stunning! In the past, we used to love their cakes to eat as well. But, while my dad's birthday cake was beautiful, it was so dry. The cream would ok, but not enough to make up for the dried out cake. Also, adding any decor is an additional $50, which is quite ridiculous. The dark buttercream stains EVERYTHING and the person at the front advised scraping it off because it probably didn't taste good from all the food coloring. My family buys a buche de noel from this bakery every year! The cake always looks amazing and more importantly it tastes amazing. It's a traditional french cake with thick butter cream but it's not too sweet either. The style is also very traditional but during the holiday season it always makes me feel like I'm coming home. The bakery also added complimentary fresh flowers instead of sugar flowers. The cake was for a relative's birthday, which they specifically requested from Final Touch Bakery because of its popularity. However, they were dismayed with the flavor of the cake. Even though I ordered it with coconut filling, there was no taste of coconut flavor whatsoever. They even asked me if I'm sure I ordered a coconut filling cake? So I tried the cake for myself, and truth to be told, I couldn't taste any coconut either. The inner cream filling tasted like plain vanilla cream. So I called the bakery and told them the situation. They insisted that they added coconut flavor and even said there should be coconut flakes in the cream. They basically didn't believe me even though I was literally tasting the cake while on the phone with them. When I asked them, "Then why don't I see coconut flakes in the cake, which is right in front of me?", all they told me was "It's in there. Just check" as if I did not know what I'm talking about.
