Pate chud - classic Vietnamese flavors in the meat, good ratio of bread to meat
    Keilani S.

Walking in the store owner was very helpful and could tell it was our first time. Definitely was not familiar with any of the foods and was just looking for some baked goods. He offered samples which really helped us figure out what to get. The pate chud was yummy and has a good ratio of meat to breading. The pastry portion is light and fluffy. The cookie is like if an almond cookie and shortbread cookie had a baby, the texture is delightful! Inside is pretty straight forward as they have a bar and display with everything lined up. You can tell the owner is proud of what he's built, as he should be!

I always love supporting small businesses and family-owned shops, but I also have to be honest about my experience. I stopped in because it's located near a restaurant we frequently visit. The owner was very friendly and proudly shared their history, fan mail, and reputation, which made me excited to try the food. I ended up buying almost one of everything. Unfortunately, the pâté chaud was already sold out by noon, which was actually the item I was most interested in trying. As for the items I did try, the durian bánh pía was overly soft and mushy for my taste. The bánh tiêu was just average and didn't stand out. The chè desserts tasted homemade, which some people may appreciate, but I found them fairly basic and not particularly memorable. The bánh trung thu was decent, but not something I would go out of my way to purchase again. Perhaps these products are exceptional compared to what is available where the bakery originated, but being in Orange County, the competition is extremely strong and there are many outstanding Vietnamese bakeries and dessert shops. I genuinely wanted to like this place and support them, especially after spending quite a bit and trying a wide variety of items, but overall I left disappointed. I may return one day to try the pâté chaud, since that was unavailable during my visit, but based on what I sampled, I don't see myself becoming a regular customer.

Kim Ninh bakery. I believe it's pretty new. Located in same plaza as Mai Phung. They open at 9. But if you call. They might be there earlier. I got helped on a Tuesday at 840. Fresh banh tieu. Super good. Came out right out of the fryer Fried Banh Bao. I found the dough too thick for my but flavor was good Pate Chaud. So fresh can't eat it right away. Nice and buttery. One of the best I had. Fresh moon cakes offered here also. Overall great bakery. I will def be a regular

It was next door to a restaurant we were waiting to be seated at and was curious. The second you walk in you don't have time to even glance at their selection, the store owner will start bombarding you about the store history- they originally came from Texas and many many many customers love them.. They have an entire box of hand written letters mailed to them that keep right behind their counter. Kind of odd that every single person that written them a letter have the exact same hand writing (you can see it from the mailing address) on the envelopes. Dau Xanh Sau Rieng Teochew Moon Cake (durian)- very strong durian flavor. Pretty mushy, skin/pastry was pretty doughy.. a little sweet for my personal taste. Khoai Mo Teochew Moon Cake (purple yam) -personally first time having it and it was alright. Pretty sweet as well but not as sweet as the durian one. Skin/pastry was also pretty doughy..

Banh tieu + pate chaud review Cash/zelle only Even tho the card machine is right there Got these fresh out of the oven/fryer! I believe it was $7-$7.5 for 2 banh tieu and 3 pate chaud Pate chaud 2/5 The pastry kind of has an odd aftertaste. Not that fragrant. I don't like the pork meatball inside, the pate they use is slightly gamey. Banh tieu 2/5 They do give lots of sesame seeds, but thats the only thing I like. The donut has some chew, but it tastes different than banh mi so 1. Service Was fine

I Just tried thier Bean cookies. I have never heard of been cookies but seen them at the front counter and they looked good so o decided to try. Glad I did. They pair well with coffee and are not too sweet. They literally crumble in your mouth. So good.

Mr. Kim was very friendly, and his wife does an excellent job with those mooncakes. I had Vietnamese coffee which I cannot describe except to say it has power and sweetness in a natural way. Parking is easy because it is in a rectangle shaped plaza, not a ton of parking but we found parking. There is a couple of tables inside, the customers I saw took their food to go. Mom&Pop Vietnamese cafe and bakery where you can grab drinks, bakery goods, and desserts to-go. The owner was very friendly. I ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee, which was delicious, although there was too much ice and I finished it in two sips (refer picture). There are no tables or bathrooms available for patrons. Businesses nearby are under construction, so limited parking during peak hours. It seems like their known for their pastries, so I'll have to come back to give the pastries a try.

The baked goods selection seems limited here. They specialize in Moon Pies. They are packed with alot of flavor. Service is very friendly but its hard to know what they have on the menu unless you know about Vietnamese food

Great quality of moon cake and banh pia plus the sponge cake with pork and egg york. The place is organized, well displace and with great customer service directly from the owners. Price wise is high but if it l good then why not.

What I ordered: Coco Pandan Mousse DESSERT: 8/10 I loved how light my mousse was. Most importantly, it actually tasted like pandan! I was worried the pandan flavor was going to be mid and subtle, but each bite had a great pandan flavor. I had a bit of a drive back to my hotel, so I was advised to order mine frozen. I'm glad I took the staff member's advice because by the time I got to my hotel and finished dinner, it had thawed out perfectly. It was still cold-ish, room temp in the best way possible. SERVICE: 9/10 Great customer service! Upon arrival, the staff member who helped me was very nice. I was indecisive about what to order, so I really appreciated that she gave me a rundown and some suggestions on their most popular dishes. Most importantly, I appreciated her concern about my dessert melting by the time I got back to my hotel. If it wasn't for her and her advice to order the dessert frozen, I wouldn't have known and probably would've ended up with a deconstructed dessert. The way she packaged my dessert was also very helpful and considerate. AMBIANCE: 9/10 Definitely a cute place, and I can see this being a great go-to spot for groups. I loved how the back seating area had so many Polaroids plastered all over the walls. There are different types of seating depending on what you're in the mood for, and each seating area has a different vibe. There's also plenty of outdoor seating if you want to enjoy the weather while having your dessert!

The owner clearly holds this location to a high standard, especially compared to the Bolsa locations. I haven't ordered a single item that wasn't fresh, although it may help that I usually stop by right when they open. What really stands out is how much the staff cares about the customer experience. They're friendly, work efficiently, and get your food out quickly so you can get on with your day. The prices are fair, especially considering inflation as of July 2026. My usual order is four bánh bao and a chè for a snack, which comes to about $17.95. This location is also very convenient if you're heading northbound on Brookhurst, which is my usual route to work. Parking can be a little tricky, but customers are in and out pretty quickly, so it's usually not a problem. If you're in the area, definitely give this place a try. Their bánh mì heo quay is also really good! My only suggestion would be to add a little more pickled carrot and daikon to the sandwiches. Other than that, this place is an easy 5 stars.

But here's the thing: I wouldn't recommend it this strongly if the coffee and donuts weren't genuinely delicious. I've actually ordered from CED for group orders at my company, and every single time, people rave about the coffee, matcha, salt bread and donuts. That's when you know it's not just "my friend's business"--the food really speaks for itself!
