There was a SUPER long line when I arrived around 3 p.m. It wrapped around the building and I literally waited 40 min to save $7... Hahaha! .... but it was delicious and worth the wait. It was also a hot day, so a bit uncomfortable waiting in the heat, but let me just say that EVERY EMPLOYEE I talked to was OVERLY pleasant and SUPER friendly. All were bilingual and smoothly changed languages with a smile on their face. Of course, everyone wanted the BOGO deal, but once you got in out of the sun and inside the building EVERYONE was working hard to keep the line moving and they all seemed to know their job and it was VERY organized. The girl at the register also made sure I was "ok" with Durian, if I wanted the ice in my drink or on the side, if I wanted less sugar and if I had a peanut allergy........ all this for a $7 drink. Impressed and appreciative. Seems everyone is giving a #BOGO deal and you can pretty much find one every day, but none that I've been to have had this long of a line so far. A fun place for this popular destination. Don't fear the line. It moves quickly. There are plenty of Bake & Che locations around Southern California, but this place is easy to get to. (Bolsa Ave) PARKING Right near the entrance to the shopping center. There's plenty of parking all around SERVICE This place is ALWAYS busy, but the crew here is pretty well organized. I think that much of the slow down in the lines comes from customers. Not in a bad way, just in a "more" way. There are plenty of "grab and go" options in a refrigerator You can order online or at a kiosk in the store. You can also order in person. SEATING There is indoor and outdoor seating if you're planning to stay put. FOOD Apparently there also are vegan options. My wife loved the drink and pandan treat. The coconut milk is served with a small tub of peanuts on the side if you're allergic. (Nice touch) The pandan is tiny, and "just enough" for that sweet afternoon treat that you're looking for. I placed an online order on April 12th totaling $75.38. When my uncle went to pick it up, several items were unavailable (2 aloe vera toppings and 3 SORA coconut jelly). The staff only provided part of the order and gave him a receipt for about $32, and told him the charge would be adjusted later. It's now been 9 days and I was still charged the full $75.38 with no refund or follow-up. I understand that items can sell out, but the issue is the lack of communication and failure to process a refund as promised. My uncle also attempted to follow up, but did not receive a response. I've seen a couple of Che & Bake locations around, so they must be doing something right ! :)) And after visiting Bake & Che, I can see why. This location is always crowded, but I think partially the layout of the ordering counter is literally about 10 feet from the entrance, so it can feel a bit hectic when it's busy, and a lot of times the customers blocks the kiosk, so you do t realize it's available. :(( Their specials are these baked flan and Thai desserts are my favorites. Everything tastes fresh and flavorful, and they offer a good selections of Vietnamese desserts to choose from. Got the House Special as the person at the counter said it was their most popular drink. It came with many different types of beans (red, white, mung), pandan jelly, jackfruit, and taro paste. Also came with durian so choose a different dessert if you don't like it. I really like the variety! The house milk on the bottom mixed really well with the other ingredients. I will ask for the ice on the side next time, as I thought it got too in the way as I made my way through it with a spoon. This place is packed and tables are first come, first serve so there's a chance you might not get one depending on the time of the day. The staff is quick at the cashier though and you get your order fast as well. We got the flan cheesecake and pandan flan cheesecake. We didn't know what to get among the bake goods so we did the Mix and Match that consists of Palm Sugar, Cassava, Pandan Layers, Mung Bean and Taro. Over the years, I've had Bake & Che many times at various locations, with this being the first location I've tried. I've had the Pandan Grass Jelly, Avocado, Premium Soy Pudding, Thai Dessert, House Special, and Three Colors. They were all good, but the Avocado and and Premium Soy Pudding are the ones I'm personally a big fan of. If you enjoy avocado like I do, the avocado dessert is for you, with pieces of it mixed inside. The soy pudding sounds and looks really basic, but is very refreshing with the coconut (jello?) pieces being a nice touch. It's located in a busy plaza, so parking could be kinda spotty. They make a dan-g good dessert. Bake & Che is a couple of local shops, which might barely be called a chain, offering Vietnamese and Vietnamese-style desserts. My friend stopped by this location during a trip through town and brought back some gifts from there for me to try the same night. Some of their desserts weren't the most memorable. The Durian Pandan Layers pastry, aka Banh Da Lon Sau Rieng, was very obviously durian-flavored, and I'm not a huge fan of that fruit. The textures of the layers seemed fine though. The Cassava pastry, aka Banh Khoai Mi, was on the dry side and was kinda mild/bland, which does actually read very traditional to me. But if you want a great, sweet, more American-friendly option, try the Flan Cheese Cake, or the pandan version which is specifically the one I got to try. The top flan layers are great and full of pandan flavor, but it's the slightly smaller cheesecake layer at the bottom plus the caramel sauce that make it memorable. Bake & Che is a must-visit in this area. Little Saigon is obviously a destination on its own, but definitely include a flan cheesecake (pandan if possible) on your itinerary. read more

I ordered the C2, Che Thai. It consisted of longan, jackfruit, red rubies (aka water chestnuts), jello, maybe nata de coco, and coconut milk mixture. The coconut milk part wasn't too sweet and the perfect consistency. I asked for ice to be added to my che and it was a fun shape! The Che Thai had lots inside it and was filling. My aunt ordered the Pandan Banh Lot & Grass Jelly Che, this also has coconut milk mixture. It had the slightest grain to it, but it wasn't bad. I enjoyed it and what I liked was that the grass jelly wasn't too soft and not too sweet. The banh lot was soo yummy! We also ordered the Coffee Coconut Jello and the Pandan Coconut Jello I believe. The price wasn't bad... around $1.25 I think for each. The coffee on the other hand was really lacking coffee taste, it was quite thin. And the jello itself was set too hard. I personally would skip these next time. But I just want to clarify that they could improve them next time after reading this review, so if you see them and they look good! Give it a try. The Palm Sugar Cassava Cake was baked well with a moist interior. I would recommend this. Also, they only have one trash can inside. If they could add another one on a different end of the store. That would be great and also, either have a worker come out and clean up tables, or encourage customers to clean up after themselves. read more

There was a line when I came which was a good sign, but I got my order immediately after I ordered (literally right after I tapped my card). I got the House Special Che. House Special Che - Actually SO good. The toppings were all delicious and they were pretty generous with each. I just wish that they had more fresh fruit in it since this was pretty pricey. I enjoyed the cakes especially the mung bean and cassava one. Those and the taro were flavorful. They were almost like mochi bread in texture. The sugar one was very sticky and the texture was more soft and not my favorite. I was disappointed with the flan cheesecake because the flan was not very soft and the cheesecake was so soggy at the bottom. The sauce was so sweet as well. At one point, I was flustered and asked," So, what is available...?" Would highly recommend labeling sold out items as they are sold out. Taste? The Che Ba Mau was great; I enjoyed the variety of jellies and beans. Despite being a sweet treat, I felt healthy devouring this for dessert. The cassava? Unfortunately, hard pass on this. It was very busy in the afternoon with a line out-of-the-door, so I placed an online order and browsed the shopping plaza until it was time to pick-up. I waited about 40 minutes to pick-up, which included items for my family. When I got to the counter, it was very hectic with many customers waiting around. There was only 1 staff member calling out order numbers and handing off in-person orders, so customers that ordered online had to flag-down the staff member. There's a(n) restroom, indoor seating area, and few tables outside. I tried the House Special Chè with less ice and sweetness. Since it was so hot outside, I regretted choosing less ice because the chè was quite thick. However, it was still tasty and refreshing! There were so many mix-ins, and the toppings added a nice crunch. Also, I tried the Bánh Bò Nướng (Palm Sugar) and the Bánh Đậu Xanh (Mung Bean), which warmed up easily in the microwave and stayed moist even after a couple of days. I liked the Bánh Bò Nướng more because it was fragrant and not too sweet. I'd like to return to Bake & Chè, but I'd avoid going on holidays and make sure to order online to avoid the line. read more

Similar to Che Ive had in Siagon. One Premium Soy Pudding which was not my things. Rather plain tasting. The Coconut Smash drink was VERY tasty with fresh young coconut inside. The flavor w the tender coconut chunks was the highlight. We also tried the Longan Jelly and Pandan Coconut Jelly. Both were good and not overly sweet.
