You've got to go and try this little shop. It looks like a floral shop with the most gorgeous orchids I've ever seen. The shop is a bit overwhelming with all the stuff inside. It seems a bit messy, or maybe they need a bigger shop. Step further into the shop and there it is, the case of cakes! But with all the hype about this bakery on social media, I had to try it The Fruit Cakes are unique with fresh fruit not glazed or jam. Big bite size strawberries, mango, kiwi, grapes, pineapple with a thin layer of sponge cake, layers of crunchy phyllo and whipped cream. The smallest cake is a 1/4 sheet which cost $45. We were taken a little back by what it looked like inside. There are lots of plants and we didn't seen any display of cakes. There was a family just standing there and we saw an older woman cutting strawberries. We were helped and were able to pay with a credit card. I'm back! Like I said before I have this cake at least once every year. Nothing can compare or beat their glorious fruit cake. I came on a Saturday afternoon and it was so busy. People were buying cakes, ordering cakes, and looking at flowers. Great news I finally learned that they take card as I saw a customer in front of me use card to pay. Oh well I'll still bring cash it's faster. The workers are great, nice, and fast they speak Viet but also speak English so don't be afraid. Love that the prices are consistent and don't go up too much. Cake always tastes great no notes it's always consistent and a hit at the party people love to eat it it's huge and people take to go too. Children are fans, adults are fans, everyone loves it! First time trying their popular fruit tart cake. We bought the 1/4 cake and it fed our party of 7 with some left to spare. As someone who doesn't like sweet desserts this fruit tart cake was perfect for me. It was a nice balance of some sweetness in the sponge cake, light airy whipped cream frosting paired with the refreshing taste of the fruit. The fruit is fresh and I particularly love the mango. I bought this cake for a family member's birthday and everyone loved it. The whipped frosting does melt if left outside too long and fruit can move around in the box so refrigerate as soon as possible and be careful in transit. I went in to pick up on a weekend morning and there was no line, plenty of cakes ready to go so no need to order in advance. They have the best and freshest FRUIT CAKES/TARTS Their cake is a layered sponge cake with a layer of puff pastry in the middle, with a Bavarian cream filling, topped with fresh seasonal fruit and whipped cream surrounding the outside. Not too sweet and absolutely delicious! Kelly is very nice and the customer service is good. They have been accepting credit cards for about two years now so no need to bring cash. They also sell beautiful orchids and flowers at reasonable prices. Around the mid-Autumn festival in August, you will also see a selection of moon cakes for sale. They also have regular cakes with vanilla, mocha, chocolate, durian (Sau Rieng or SR), or ice cream. I have tried the mocha and chocolate filled cake, but I prefer the fruit cakes. **December 2025: Sunday Afternoon Visit** My dad asked me to purchase a cake for my mom's milestone birthday and since most of the guests were boomer age I figured it was best to get a cake that was Asian approved. I called Long Phung Bakery to inquire about ordering and pricing a couple days before, and thankfully they were able to accomodate my request. I order a 1/4 sheet fruit cake in the past, but honestly could not remember anything about the ordering process. The woman who picked up the phone spoke Vietnamese and English, and informed me that they accepted cash and credit card. They regularly have 1/4 size fruitcakes, but advise to call ahead if you have 1/2 sheet or larger. I was advised to get a 1/2 sheet fruit cake ($80) for my party of 20. Honestly, I think the 1/2 sheet probably feeds more like 50 people or I guess 20 individual who skip the main course and have jumbo sweet tooth. A 1/4 sheet would have been more than enough. Taste wise there was a lot of fruit and for a cake that size I think it was really affordable. They will hand pipe the message on the white strip in the middle of the cake when you pickup. They also sell orchids, which I think in the future I'll plan to purchase for gifts. Small $12 Larger $15-$20 Arrangements $110+ Parking can be hit or miss. For instance we just celebrated Mother's Day on Memorial Day, but regardless of what we are celebrating, if we need a cake, we usually go here. In addition to the bountiful amount of strawberries, peaches, kiwi, mango, cherries and whatever other fruit is in season, the cake comes with a crispy puff pastry layer, a good amount of cake layer, and ample whip cream and pastry cream to tie it all together. They even delivered to our venue in Fallbrook outside of their normal delivery times, which we can't thank them enough for. All our guests loved it with some who grew up with this style of cake, and others who were trying it for the very first time and couldn't stop raving about it. But the best part? Their artistry. The first few times we had this cake, it was really good. However, starting this year, the fruit has an aftertaste that reminds of me a cleaner that you use. I'm wondering if the fruit is being cut by a knife that is cleaned with a chemical cleaner. The store definitely doesn't look like a bakery from outside since they also sell a ton of orchid flowers, but don't let that deter you as they've been specializing in their fruit cakes since I was a kid. For our family, we usually get the 1/4 sheet cake (smallest size) which I would recommend for 10-12 guests depending on how large you cut the slices. Fruits are fresh and can vary depending on the season. The fruit tart consists of cake, a puff pastry layer and their custard on the inside with their whipped cream on the outside. You'll notice it's not the best piping job for the whipped cream, but the taste is still great (not too sweet, just like the parents like). I usually do a special request for "double cookie" which just means no cake and only puff pastry. You can't call ahead to pre-order so you'll have to come in to place the order but it usually takes about 10-15 minutes for them to make for you. Highly recommend bringing cash. read more
