Stopped by to get some foods to go for lunch. Got to say, all their locations are very consistent in quality and in service. Easy & plenty parking. Place is well organized, clean and spacious. Staff are nice and friendly. Foods are good and tasty, especially their well known roasted pork. The portion is great with the price too and definitely filled the tummy easily. Just yum for sure.

    Banh Mi Heo Quay
    Michelle N.

My first time trying Banh Mi Heo Quay! My friends always recommended this banh mi, but I was not disappointed trying it here for the first time. The pork was crispy and a nice touch with everything else added in the baguette. The only issue I had was ordering 7 banh mi's, but receiving 6. We had to come back and ask for our last one. Other than that, I'd definitely have to come back and try their heo quay on its own!

Left = Vietnamese coffee, right = salted egg yolk bun (both are decent)

Tofu pudding: 5/5; all three are great (traditional, matcha, and ginger); have a lovely, smooth, jelly-like texture; not sickeningly sweet Salted egg yolk bun: 3/5; smallish soft bun with a sweet and salty eggy filling tasted good, but I prefer a similar one I've had at a Taiwanese cafe Pandan cake roll: 4/5; tasty, soft, and moist, but too sweet overall, and the white cream was especially sugary Vietnamese coffee: 4/5; decent balance of strength and sweetness; not overly milky but not filled to the top even though I didn't ask for an ice adjustment Patechaud: 2/5; not very appealing to me since the meat filling had a hint of sweetness that I didn't like Sesame balls: 3/5; had a yellow filling that wasn't too sweet; these were ok the day of but not so good the day after (or after storing in the fridge) since the dough becomes very chewy Pork belly banh mi: 2/5; disappointing since it seemed kinda sweet for what's supposed to be a savory sandwich; the pork belly chunks tasted bland and were not crisp Janky parking in a tiny, rundown plaza. Staff inside were attentive but were constantly shouting and rushing, which didn't really make it a pleasant atmosphere haha. Just grab your stuff right away and head somewhere else to enjoy your treats.

Baby, this is the best BBQ PORK Bahn Mi I have tasted. The pork is perfectly balanced with the sweet, vinegary, crispy pickled veggies. The service was quick and they seem to have an on point system. No seating inside to eat FYI. I also got a pork and shrimp egg roll for a buck- delish. And the Pate chaud is also like $1.25 or something and it has a good amount of filling. More than the usually pate Chaud I've had. The filling is also very tasty in the pate Chaud. And since I have food FOMO, I had to try the crispy pork belly and viet coffee. Crispy pork belly- A+ Vietnamese Coffee - do not get! Bitter and too strong. I was told there was a different spot around here with much better coffee after the fact. And lastly I got a flan that was too eggy for my taste and too expensive at $2.50 for a small little thing.

Yummy Bakery This is a review for my experience at Yummy Bakery. MENU: They are well known for their banh baos. I always get their #1 special. The banh baos have ground pork, boiled egg, sausage, and black mushrooms. It's very delicious! They're the perfect size for a hearty snack. I also get their house iced coffee. It is very strong! It will keep you alert and awake! I do have to add some milk when I get home, to combat the bitterness a bit, but it is still a good coffee drink! SERVICE: Quick and easy! They had everything ready and I didn't have to wait long. Unfortunately there are no tables to sit at. It is a just an order and pick up place. ---- All in all if you are craving banh baos and coffee, I would definitely check out Yummy Bakery!

Great spot to grab a filling, high quality, and affordable lunch. I had the crispy pork bahn mi. The amount of filling was perfect. Great meat to pickled veggies ratio. Sauced perfectly! Not too overpowering, but enough to give it that extra pop. I had the pandan grass jelly. It was great!!' I bought fresh baguettes as well! $1.45 for a long fresh baguette!!

When ever I go to work, always stop by to buy Banh Mi and coffee combo for only 9$+tax, payment and waiting really fast. Vietnamese food I recommend for enjoy. So delicious and strong coffee!!

Bad services. I ordered 2 tiny buns and nicely ask them if they can help me to reheat with microwave. They said yes and i stood there waited for 5 mins later then I ask the guy if my buns are done. The kitchen said in 5 seconds then I kept waiting. But then another 5-7 mins later ai asked again if they are done yet and the guy ran to kitchen took the buns I bought out and said microwave is broken. I was like WHAT? You made me stood there waited over 10 mins for nothing? Even I asked twice? Totally bad services. If the microwave was broken just told me at the beginning.

I always come here for the crispy pork banh mi and banh bao -- both are delicious and consistently fresh. The staff is friendly and quick with preparing food, and the space is clean and well-kept. A great spot for a quick, satisfying bite!

Yummy #1 sandwich. Best sandwich around.
    Leeza D.

Yummy is popping up everywhere and you would think their food would be consistent across locations. I find it is not consistent and the Yummy banh mi #1 here is the best. It might be my favorite version of the Vietnamese cold cut banh mi in all of So Cal. Wow, that's a vivacious comment and why do I think that.... Well, I love crusty bread with not a lot of soft bread on the inside. The cold cut meats are cut thick and they are plentiful in the sandwich. Their veggies are a little bit extra sour and they add green onions inside the sandwich. Lastly and I think this tips all scales, their combination of special aioli + pate + seasoned soy sauce just brings the right umami to the sandwich. On top of the yummy sandwich, you can order from a selection of desserts, banh bao, and other treats also. I don't make it out here often, but when I do, you got to know I will get a Yummy #1 sandwich! Parking is easy. There is one lonely stool at the bar for eat in and I've sat at that stool a lot. No outdoor seating. Casual. Service is fast and with a smile. Please come visit and create your own experience.

    Great selection

It's fast, delicious( food you only find abroad). Clean and they have daily specials!! I really enjoyed it. The soft bread and aromatics make it feel so good. From the iced coffee to yummy desserts- can't wait to try it again!!

Banh Mi Heo Quay (Roast pork banh mi)
    Duong T.

On my way back to San Diego, I ran into Yummy Bakery by chance. I wasn't sure what to order since this place was brand new to me. The "bánh mì heo quay" captured my attention; it's my favorite type of bánh mì. Unfortunately, many places had disappointed me in the past because the pork skin was too chewy and the meat was tough. While waiting for my made-to-order sandwich, I overheard the sandwich maker speak out loud to the cashier, "There's only enough pork for three sandwiches left." I was curious, so I asked if they had run out. The young cashier told me that to ensure the quality of the roast pork, the shop only makes a new batch once they run out. At last, the sandwich was ready. I took a bite, and it was delicious. The pork skin was crispy, the meat was tender, and the sauce and daikon veggies blended together like a symphony. It didn't take me long to finish the sandwich. This is a Togo type of a shop, there is no place to sit. It's small and cozy and packed with goodies. If you're in the area, please check them out. I'll come back to try other items next time I'm in the area.

Big bite size strawberries, mango, kiwi, grapes, pineapple with a thin layer of sponge cake, layers of crunchy phyllo and whipped cream. The smallest cake is a 1/4 sheet which cost $45. With all the fruit on top, it made it challenging to slice nice looking dessert slices. Super yummy, I can understand why people are making reels about this place on social media. It's a winner. I think I just rekindled a long-lost relationship with this bakery…read more The last time I visited was probably a few years ago, and while I remember liking it well enough, I wasn't exactly blown away by the vegetarian and vegan options at the time. Fast forward to recently, and their Instagram marketing team deserves a raise because they absolutely got me. Every other scroll seemed to feature some gorgeous vegan pastry or savory item, and before I knew it, I was planning a visit solely based on cravings induced by social media. The pistachio croissant, pâté chaud, and sticky rice had been living rent-free in my head for weeks. Let me just say: this place exceeded the hype. The pâté chaud was the star of the show. I ordered both the regular version and the "beef" version. The vegan beef filling was tasty, but there wasn't a whole lot of it. The regular pâté chaud, on the other hand, was generously filled with vegan pork and mushrooms and was absolutely phenomenal. Flavorful, savory, and wrapped in the flakiest, butteriest pastry imaginable. One bite and I was immediately transported back to childhood. Pâté chaud was one of those treats my dad would always bring home for me growing up, so finding a vegetarian version felt like discovering buried treasure. Not to be dramatic, but I would happily eat a concerning number of these in one sitting. The xôi gà (sticky rice with seasoned vegan chicken) was another knockout. In my excitement, I started eating it immediately instead of waiting to warm it up first. Rookie mistake. By the time I realized my error, I had already inhaled most of it. After heating up the remaining portion, I finally understood what I had deprived myself of. The warm version was next-level delicious. If the room-temperature version was an A, the heated version graduated summa cum laude. I have been thinking about it ever since and am currently fighting the urge to drive back for more as I write this review. The girl working at the counter was also incredibly sweet and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Needless to say, I will not be waiting another few years before returning. In fact, if you see someone sprinting toward the pastry case for vegan pâté chaud and sticky rice, there's a decent chance it's me.

She may have known the other customers in the store at the time because I felt she was a lot more friendly towards them. Also a heads up, you have to spend at least $20 to be able to use a card, so bring cash! I tried their honeycomb cake (in a half moon shape, good for 3-4 servings) and their vegan pork pate chaud. Both of these items were good! They were also reasonably priced as I got both for ~$8-9. The honeycomb cake was slightly sweet and chewy. The vegan pastry was flaky despite being vegan! There was a good amount of filling, which consisted of the vegan pork and mushrooms. It was savory and had a good texture too. The only other thing I may ever come back for is their vegan fried chicken but the smallest amount you have to buy 1/2 lb which is $12
