Long overdue review. My friend told me about this place a while back because she really like their pork belly banh mi and I came and also really liked it. Since then I came back quite a lot of time, also ordered tons of take-outs for picnic and family gatherings. I also liked their variety of buns (banh bao) and I like how they are smaller, and there are 9 in one box, various prices depending on the filling. Overall, good enough banh mi, though they don't give as much veggies inside the banh mi as other places.. Their pork belly is good and you can also order by pounds. This is by far my favorite Yummy location out of all of them. The restaurant is always super clean, efficient, and true to its name--everything is fresh and, of course, delicious. The owner clearly holds this location to a high standard, especially compared to the Bolsa locations. I haven't ordered a single item that wasn't fresh, although it may help that I usually stop by right when they open. What really stands out is how much the staff cares about the customer experience. They're friendly, work efficiently, and get your food out quickly so you can get on with your day. The prices are fair, especially considering inflation as of July 2026. My usual order is four bánh bao and a chè for a snack, which comes to about $17.95. This location is also very convenient if you're heading northbound on Brookhurst, which is my usual route to work. Parking can be a little tricky, but customers are in and out pretty quickly, so it's usually not a problem. If you're in the area, definitely give this place a try. Their bánh mì heo quay is also really good! My only suggestion would be to add a little more pickled carrot and daikon to the sandwiches. Other than that, this place is an easy 5 stars. read more

Stopped by and ordered the House Special Coffee! It was actually my first time visiting, so I asked the cashier if she recommends the Matcha Coffee or the House Special, and she said the House Special was better. Service was super quick! I think I ordered, stepped away, and BAM! The drink was ready on the counter! Not sure how quickly food orders are done, but the speed of how quickly my coffee was poured out impressed me LOL As for the coffee itself, the Vietnamese coffee base is bold and strong! It's a bit more on the bitter side compared to other coffee shops, but paired with the foam, it balances out! If I visit again, I'd like to try one of the desserts or banh bao! There's some seating inside and outside the bakery. During the time I went, there were a lot of customers, and all the seats were taken! I first found out about Yummy Bakery through a Yelp Elite Experience, and I came back to support them because I simply like how friendly and helpful the staff here are. They are always welcoming and provide good service whenever I stop by. I've tried several of their banh mi, and I think their Special Banh Mi is probably the best one. I also think the prices are better compared to some other places. I've also tried their steamed buns. They're okay, but honestly not my favorite. I still buy them once in a while because they're convenient and easy to grab. They have a few tables inside if you don't want to take your food to go and prefer to sit and eat there. Yummy Bakery July 13, 2026 This morning, I passed by Yummy Bakery to grab some breakfast. As I waited for my order, I noticed a homeless person enter the store; he stood in line holding a cup of noodles. He asked the lady at the front counter for hot water for his cup of noodles. Without hesitation, the lady at the counter took the cup of noodles from him, poured hot water in it, and gave him a spoon. The homeless person said, "Thank you." He then walked outside, standing on the side of the bakery and eating his cup of soup. I can't help but mention this act of kindness shown to that homeless man. I come to Yummy Bakery regularly to buy crispy roast pork Banh Mi, baked cassava, salted duck egg steamed bun, mam chung, matcha tofu pudding, and lots of other baked breads and drinks they offer. The place can be easily found, with enough parking spots. The inside is bright and clean, including their restroom. In the morning rush, the line could be long but the staff is fast and efficient in taking orders. A must-try bakery on your list! It has become my favorite spot since last year. I've been to many Banh Mi places and this one feels like it's a chain. The others I've been to have buy two, get one free promotions and it makes it hard to pass up that offer. Here at Yummy Bakery, they a variety of Banh Mi sandwiches, Steamed Buns, Bakery items like breads, pastries and a handful of dessert items. They have a create your own Vietnamese jelly drink. I'm not sure what they call it, but you have choices from a variety of jellies, coconut milk, and some sweet beans. The one thing Yummy Bakery does not offer are the buy two, get one free offer. My #2 Banh Mi which is the Heo Quay is probably the best choice there. It has crispy roasted pork belly and the traditional accompaniments of Banh Mi sandwiches, like cilantro, jalapeños, mayonnaise and the pickled radish and carrots. I enjoyed my first visit. This place is a must stop for some Matcha Tofu Pudding. The flan to me was okay but I definitely would always come back for the matcha tofu pudding. Girl seemed to be in training but service was great. The guy was steps ahead of grabbing items when people were ordering. This place is a national treasure and protect it at all costs! I was visiting my boo's family for thanksgiving holiday and we made frequent stops here (literally everyday of our visit to SoCal) and I needed my viet matcha foam coffee! Instantly fell in love after the first sip, will never forget that dear moment. Their banh mi is so good, my favorite was the spam and eggs one. I also love their variety of tofu puddings (I think my favorite one was the ginger one omg) they had a black custard bun that was super delicious, their pistachio croissant was everything I hoped for, the flan cheesecake: chefs kiss...BUT LETS TALK ABOUT THAT PATE CHOUD! This is always our must visit bakery every time we're in Little Saigon after a meal. There are many locations, but we like this one because it's newer and bigger. There are no crazy long lines compared to the Bolsa location. Parking can be difficult during lunch hours, so we like to come after 2pm. We love to order the steamed buns; especially the combination pork buns and pork with quail egg buns. They are the perfect size not too large like most places. So glad that Yummy is expanding and that I don't have to drive too far to get it anymore. They are know for their bao buns. I highly recommend getting a box of their combo one. They are great to reheat and I was eating them for a week. The bao bread is perfectly moist and the meat filling inside is so savory and flavorful and fully packed in the bun. Their banh pate chaud is also really good flakey and crispy. I tried the crispy pork sandwich also really good and full of meat but it was a bit fatty for me. The bakery is nice, clean, and spacious. I don't know about everyone else's, but my experience here has been fine so far. Yummy Bakery is my go-to for a quick bite. The banh mi is yummy you can't go wrong with the classics Cha Lua or Thit nuong, but if you want something different definitely try the make it at home vibe "egg and spam banh mi" haha and the bánh bao and pate chau! is a cool snack to grab before heading to the park or beach. I've always had to wait almost every place I go, so I don't mind the wait at yummy if I'm getting a banh mi or 2. I think it's definitely worth a visit for tasty, convenient Vietnamese snacks if you are around the area. It really depends on when you go too. So far the afternoon has been good to me. A Youtuber recommended this spot, so we came to try their famous pandan bánh bò. Honestly, we thought the pandan cake (bánh da lợn) was the standout--it had better flavor. The bánh bò itself was soft and fresh, but the pandan taste was pretty mild. The real highlight was the coconut sauce that came with it, which made it much better. I've had stronger versions of bánh bò here and in SJ. We also tried the regular one the next day (no photo, oops) and it was just okay. Bring CA$H or 3% Credit/Debit card fee which is like $.30 cents for $10. The price is reasonable. #3 Grilled Beef with Special Sauce - my personal favorite but if you love pork, I'd stick to grilled pork - also one of my favorites. #3 is more saucy with iceberg lettuce, shredded green spring onions, and tomatoes besides the normal fermented carrots/daikons/cucumber/jalapeños. The flavor in this grilled beef banh mi reminded me of home - not the exact taste but almost. The best part - WARM breads. Not many Vietnamese places warm up Banh Mi when they make it which make it tasted "cold". I don't like cold food. You can ask staff to cut Banh Mi in half and/or put vegetable on the side so they can stay fresh longer when you do not eat it immediately. I usually order for to-go and use airfryer or grill at home to warm up the bread if I do not eat immediately at the store. Still taste good. There are a couple tables inside and outside to sit down and eat. The inside was clean and organized. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. I had to come see for myself what the hype was about w the purple taro buns at Yummy Bakery. The buns are steamed and filled w taro paste. The taro paste is sweetened just right. These yummy little buns are so delightful!! Got a vegetarian bao for my JZ and it was really good too, she liked it a lot! I also tried the beef banh mi. Not only was it bigger than most banh mis I've had, it was also very tasty!! I typically avoid meat banh mis since most of the banh mi joints I've tried marinate their meats in some type of fish sauce base. I very much appreciate that Yummy Bakery does not marinate their beef in fish sauce (thank you for that)!! I saw that they had Yummy Spicy Roasted Peanuts and decided to try it. The magical touch of lemongrass, kaffir lime, Hanoi red chili, and garlic made this snack super amazing!! Lastly, I got the Vietnamese coffee. Rich bold taste, made from potent robusta beans. If you're sensitive to caffeine, pregnant, suffer from insomnia, or have HBP, do not drink this!! It's basically iced meth in a to go cup... which explains why I had the sudden urge to cut all of my palm tree leaves and and am still up at 3am writing Yelp reviews lol! Came back for a second time in 2 weeks because my family is addicted to the Taro banh baos that are hard to find in LA County. Had the chicken banh mi today and it was excellent. The baguette was fresh and toasty, and the ingredients inside were so fresh! The cilantro, cucumber, pickled carrots are so complementing to the flavor of the chicken. Tiny parking lot in front of establishment, they offer Al fresco seating, which is nice. It's clean inside, which is always a plus. I ordered 3 banh mis and an iced coffee. The iced coffee was good, it had a distinct taste. The crispy pork banh mi was just mediocre, the pork skin wasn't crispy and the bread to filling ratio was off, they put too much cilantro to fill it up. Plenty of parking in the lot for this spot and the service was fast and polite. As for the food, it was a meh for me. The bread was really good, slight crunch on the outside and soft on the inside. I ordered the roast pork banh mi. They put a bbq-like dressing on the pork, which honestly detracted from the pork flavor. Maybe if they had a giblet gravy on it or something it would be unique. I tried Yummy Bakery for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised by the affordability of the banh mi here! The Yummy Sandwich and the Crispy Pork Belly were really good in flavors, the bread was toasted and had the perfect texture. I personally preferred the Yummy Sandwich over the pork belly one! The pork belly one, though was good in terms of flavor, it wasn't crispy at all. The pork with salty egg yolk steamed buns caught my attention, good but definitely smaller in size than I expected. Easy parking and spacious, clean and airy plus bright store. They have sort of their own parking lot so easy to find parking. The place is still new over a yr since it opened. They have consider and outside seating space. Nice and clean. Staff amid friendly and very nice. Just like their sibling store, they have banh mi, banh bao, che, bakery and heo quay plus cold drinks and other snacks. This place is well displaces their merchants and eye catching. Their banh mi cost is very affordable and I would say the cheapest in OC. Their bread is good, soft and chewy but outside crunchy. That's amazing that the quality of a place is relative to where you are. If this were in a Vietnamese food desert like New York City, then it absolutely would be a five-star place. 3 stars for unethical business practice, although the food is excellent. PROS: -Excellent banh mi. This banh mi with the roasted pork is the best Vietnamese sandwich I've tasted. The mayo spread, crispy and juicy pork, paired with the crisp and fresh veggies make this item a winner for me. Lots of pickled carrot and daikon, fresh cilantro and jalapeño included. - Large menu with lots of Viet items. The nem chua on the side is delicious. They also offer baked goods, flan, coconut pudding, and che. CONS: - There is a credit card fee to discourage you from using card. That normally would not be a problem , as I am aware that many Vietnamese shops typically prefer cash. HOWEVER, when I paid with cash - the cashier noted he didn't have enough change and asked if he could keep the extra 25 cents. I don't mind a mere 25 cents, but the principle of making customers pay with cash and then lying to conduct the transaction improperly is unethical. The cashier noted "I don't have the change," but when I asked further - another employee told him to give it, and he miraculously found a quarter in the register. He was apologetic, but I'm not sure if it's a company policy to not give change in general . Imagine if they said this to everyone. Bottom line is they should accept credit card WITHOUT a surcharge if they refuse conduct business with cash properly. read more
