We ordered the crab eggrolls, crab noodle soup, crab/coconut soup, and beef soup My favorite thing were the crab eggs rolls, mostly due to all the fresh veggies you can stuff them in. I wasn't really a fan of the soups. .. they all had a muddled flavor (kinda like how the soups at boiling point are). As far as crab.. I couldn't really taste a crab taste in anything. I Am not sure what kinda crab this ground up stuff was,, but it didn't have a crab flavor. I'm sure it's just lost on me since I'm. Inexpert in Vietnamese food. Our favorite soup flavorwise was the beef soup. There isn't much description on the menu of the ingredients. .. so expect some mystery meats in each soup. I'm so upset that I haven't been this restaurant sooner. I felt like walking into a restaurant in Vietnam not in Orange County. There's indoors and outdoor seating. Their menu has both in English and Vietnamese which is a plus. Their staff explains the menu and actually comes by to check up, which is pretty cool. (If you know, you know) I got their squid rice noodle soup, crab and shrimp eggrolls, and my friend got the fermented vermicelli noodles. I took my family here to try their bun mam (vermicelli with fermented fish paste soup), and we were pleasantly surprised. We got the bun mam, nem cua be (crab egg rolls), and banh tam bi (thick vermicelli noodles with shredded pork). The bun mam was just the way I like it - just the right amount of fermented fish flavor and seasoned just right for the mien tay Vietnamese (southwestern Vietnamese). The nem cua be was alright in my opinion, crispy egg rolls shell with meaty filling and not enough crab flavor, nothing too special. The banh tam bi (forgot the picture) was our least favorite. The mixed fish sauce that it was served with was too salty for us and the noodle was a bit too hard, in a not good way. Overall, I would come back for the bun mam and skip everything else. The outdoor setting reminds me of the restaurants in Vietnam. It's that vibe of someone serving food in their front yard. The biggest downside is the parking situation. They're located on the side plaza next to Phuoc Loc Tho (Asian Garden Mall) with barely any parking space. We had to park at Phuoc Loc Tho and walked over. read more

First time here for a weekday lunch. I got Bún Nắm. The fish flavor was good. Not too sweet as other restaurant. Can definitely taste the fish sauce. They have fish cake stuffed in jalapeño instead of eggplants, which can be a little spicy. Not bad at all and I would come back. However, I still this can't top Bún Nắm at Ốc &lẩu. Easily one of the best Vietnamese restaurant in OC. I came to try their restaurant without any expectation, on a Thursday morning. To my surprise, every single dish that we ordered was amazing. (+1) when the owner said she doesnt like to add sugar to her food, and I can tell since a lot of her dishes are more on the savory side. -Seafood Udon: bánh canh tôm cua: Sai Gon Xua nailed it!!! I am super picky with this dish since my grandma makes it the best. This is the first time that I gonna say a banh canh from a restaurant lives up to my preference, feels just like eating at home: the broth is not too condensed, very flavorful, they use real crabs, and each bowl has like 3 giant shrimps!. Even the boiled pork was nicely cut , ingredients are very fresh and I can see the owner put a lot of passion + thoughts to this dish. 10/10 for me. I probably gonna order this again tomorrow thats how delicious the banh canh was lol. - Crispy egg with rice doug ( Bột Chiên). OOooh 9.5/10.my photo does not do this dish justice, she ( the chef) made it crispy on the outside but still soft inside. Its a simple appetizer, but hard to nail the flavor. Many places tried to make this dish but they turned out to be chewy and greasy, so far this is my favorite one. - Vermicilli with crispu crab wrap: oh wow. This reminds me of the flavor of Nem cua be from a famous place in Saigon (district 1). It was cooked perfectly, the seasoning, the wrap, how the "nem" was perfectly fried. Service was slow. It took a while to get our food; there was 3 waiters and maybe one cook? Food was mid. Ordered the banh da cua. I thought there'd be cua (crab) but it was mostly tofu, pork ham and noodles. The broth was a bit bland so I had to doctor it up with some fish sauce, lemon and chili to feel something. Parking is horrible. I had to park at the asian garden mall and walk to the joint. Ambiance outside was cute, it had fruit trees (albeit fake fruit were hanging from some branches) and live parakeet birds next to a couch sitting area that made you question various stains... Was so looking forward to trying this place but got totally turned off by their customer service. The guy (older gentleman) didn't even seem like he wanted to seat us. It's the 4th and a Saturday so I can understand places being busy but at the time we arrived it wasn't that busy. A few empty tables inside and out. And today is HOT, and mind you I have my 3yr old son with me. We waited like 15 min, nobody offered us water. He handed us menus when we sat down and just left. Language isn't an issue, he spoke English. A group of 3 older Vietnamese ladies sat down literally 5min after us. Their order was taken immediately and their food came out 10 min later. This is the 1st time I've experience discrimination in Little Saigon. I'm not Vietnamese, but nationality I am considered Vietnamese. I am Montagnard, a indigenous people who reside in Vietnam. My family originates from Vietnam. I grew up eating Vietnamese food and being a part of the culture. I have friends and family who are Vietnamese. The Bún Mắm Trà Vinh was very well balanced between savory, sweetness, and full of umami flavors. It has all the right ingredients, although the fresh herbs accompaniment lacks some herbs. It's very disappointed. I bought 2 trays Lẩu Mắm today (6/18/26), and went home found flies inside. I called the store and they said their kitchen very clean so no flies. We live in San Diego and these trays are unopened (still sealed). We drove home for 2 hours from little Saigon. The food is inside the car so where are these flies coming from? How the flies can get inside? The owner is very rude. The food is not cheap (almost $99). We paid for it and want to enjoy it. We are disappointed about how the owner responded. read more

We saw this place on Instagram and thought we check it out and it turned out to be the worst idea. I'm not the type to leave reviews, but after experiencing the worst customer service, being ignored while other customers of Vietnamese decent was served and us (darker Asians) waiting for 20min and never got serviced, we left. I don't like throwing this term around, but i can't use any other word to describe my experience except for it was racist. Don't get me wrong, I experienced bad customer service before and we just went on our way, but I'm not gonna ignore my feelings when I felt genuinely discriminated. Saw this place from one of the well known Vietnamese influencers so we decided to try it since it has the fish fermented soup with vermicelli(Bún mǎm) and the famous Bánh tǎm bì. We also ordered crab tomatoes soup and the crab and minced pork egg rolls. The crab and minced pork egg rolls were good. Wrapped in large lettuce leaves and varieties of mints with fish sauce. The house special Bánh tam bi is unique to the middle area of Vietnamese cuisine. In a tray, it has Vermicelli, bean sprouts with cucumbers and strips of pork and special noodles. Served with coconut milk and fish sauce. Mix it all together and enjoy. Not sure how to describe the flavor but it was different. The two noodle soups were just a meh! I wonder how I could miss this spot in Bolsa for so long. And I can't believe how under rate this restaurant is. We ordered bot chien, bun mam and grilled pork vermicelli. Everything was the delicious. If I must, I would say they have the best bun mam in all of OC and I had bun mam at least at 5 other places including homemade ones. The bot chien was so crispy to perfection. My mom and I always crave for bot chien in Vietnam because we couldn't find a place that cook it right here until now. My mom loved the big chien here so much she came back a week later while I came back for bun mam again separately . They have the decoration like a small hometown restaurant in south Vietnam which is cute. Service was quick. I like how clean it is and you don't smell like the food walking out of the restaurant. Visited this restaurant for the first time after watching some YouTubers dining here. Thought I would try something different this time: the noodles soup with baby squid. It was surprisingly very good. They served in a big bowl and the squids were so tender. There was some ground pork and a quail egg. Broth was also very good and you can tell it was made with bones and not some pre-made soup powder. The restaurant is fairly large but kind of dated. But I came for good foods so it didn't bother me. The bún mắm was bland, and the fish texture was awful--clearly defrosted too quickly before cooking. ​Worse than the food was the service. The waiters here seem to enjoy mocking customers from behind the register. They will loudly mock you to your face and then run off to the kitchen. After waiting 30 minutes, another group came in asking about the wait and they were seated before us, even though we were first in line. We mentioned it and were told we'd be next without any apology. After waiting another 20 minutes, someone finally came to get us. As we were walking to the table, another staff member stopped us and said we couldn't take that table because it seats more than 3, so we'd have to wait again for a smaller one. This place is a very hole in the wall restaurant. The only reason we found this place was through my mom's Facebook research for restaurants to eat. We came in around 7-8pm which barely had customers. Unfortunately, some of the items we wanted for appetizers like the chicken wings in fish sauce and banh khot was unavailable. Even with appetizers, I believe we would not be able to finish our main entrees. *nui xao bo - had a nice Smokey taste with some sweetness to the sauce (it could've been from the noodle marinade too). The noodles were a bit overcooked but still very delicious. Personally, I like how big they chopped the peppers because it was easier to give to my parents to eat LOL good thing it wasn't sliced thin. *the bread is supposed to be like bo ne with cubed beef. It was very good! It was something different and a little on the sweeter side but it was sooo good. The pate was not overly peppered. There were TWO fried eggs instead of one and they were still gooey and runny. I love the addition of the laughing cow cheese because it brought some creaminess when assembling a little bit of everything. Would highly recommend getting the bread dish! (Number 3 on the menu) The staff was really friendly and if you're lucky, you get to see Lucky the dog!
