I discovered this place a while back. I have returned here and there for their rau cau (gelatin made w/agar agar). Recently, I have visited a lot more because my mom been wanting it. People do change lol The customer service here used to be great. Owner was patient and nice. Things have changed over years. Recent visit including today, the owner eyes weren't as kind as before. He was rushing my mom and felt irritated that she was asking questions. There were rau cau that came in singles and rau cau that came in 6. I never knew that the ones that came in six were just display and not for sale. My mom wanted to save the dude from grabbing single ones, so she asked for the tray of 6 Pandan coconut. He gave my mom attitude saying that he only sell the single ones. If she insisted in buying the tray of 6 then it will be extra cost. Lol in that case we rather get in singles..duh! More convenient to eat...crazy! Afterwards, when he noticed that my mom was buying more stuff, he kinda stopped with his attitude. Like yo...chill. One or two items, you're still making money. That how you became you today!!! I gonna give this place another chance. In the future, if he still act such ways..it's goodbye for good. For sure, I will lower the ratings as well. Place is lucky that although the service went down but the quality still the same.
Must visit place when you are at Orange county. This place sell very yummy dessert. I always stop by when we visit LA / orange county. The shop is small but well organized. I have been visiting this shop since pandemic. They are famous with Bhanh. I like the cassava and Honeycomb. I love the cake. It is serves warm when you got it and it is good to eat while it is warm.
Pulled over to use my phone and saw a constant stream of people heading here and got curious. There's honestly not a lot of English spoken here but wow the baked goods were delicious. Try the banh bo in different flavors, small baked rice cakes which kinda reminded me of baked mochi. They sell boba drinks, sesame balls, gelatin desserts, and tapioca puddings too but it was the mochi cakes that were my favorite -- thigh I tried a lot of things. Wink. It was so good that I went back again the next day and flew home with a tray to enjoy later! It's a good thing I don't live too close to here!

Delicious Vietnamese desserts! I came here because I was craving pandan steamed honeycomb cake (banh bo nuong). They sell it heated or room temperate in little pie tins, and I thought the flavor and texture was so good! They also sell an assortment of other jelly or baked cakes. 4 pieces for $6! And they sell different flavors of flan in small cups for $2.50. My favorites were the coffee and pandan flan, jackfruit jelly, baked taro cake, and baked pandan layer. But I bought all four types of steamed desserts (taro, pandan, baked flan, cassava) and they were honestly all good! For 8 pcs of the small cakes/jellos + 2 flans + 1 honeycomb cake, the total came out to $20. The girl working the cash register was so patient with me when I was picking all my treats too! The shop was small, clean, and organized, there's a couple chairs just for waiting. I'm so glad I found this gem on Yelp! I usually pick up these sweets from restaurants but it's nice to finally check out a specialized bakery with these sweets.
Tucked away in a corner that can be easily missed. The place is small, people constantly going in and out. The staff here are very nice and helpful. I felt overwhelmed with all the choices but they were able to recommend the variety box which has a little of everything to try. For all those with commitment issues, this one is for you!
My family ordered party trays for our party and these are a hit. The order and pickup process is simple. We like the variety and the texture and taste. This is our preferred after trying others. The parking lot is small and tight, but I've never had issues doing weekend afternoon pickup. The staff are courteous and plus for taking credit cards.
I went to a new chè place last night and was disappointed. New doesn't always mean better. So this morning we had to go check out the bakery and chè place that my aunt keeps talking about. Boy oh boy, their avocado drink is literally the best in town. You get the rich and creamy fresh avocado not the powder mix. Had so many avocado chunks and jelly. They made it fresh. Not too sweet. We also got a few of the cupcake size desserts like the steamed layer cake, baked taro cake, salted egg sponge cake, and pate chaud. It's so convenient in cupcake size when you just want to snack. $1.50 each or 4 for $6 which isn't a deal when it comes out the same. You can increase the size on most of these items. You can order party trays of up to 80 pieces or more. Even the pate chaud is tiny but delicious. It was evenly proportional in meat and pastry. I will for sure be back to try their banana bread and other baked goods!

I recommend pre-ordering pickup on their website especially if you're ordering big trays. You can pay in store when you pickup. Trust, you don't want to wait in the hot small store while they assemble your order. Definitely will come back again! Their store is tucked away in the corner of a tiny plaza in a weird intersection so it's easy to miss. Parking lot is small.
A hidden gem for Vietnamese traditional desserts. A local friend recommended me. I love how they have so many choices for customers to choose from at a reasonable price. I also tried their avocado drink. It was very flavorful, creamy, and tasty with fresh avocado and avocado jelly.

The favor is there, the smell, the sweetness (but not too sweet, the perfect sweet) just feels like a blanket wrapped around you . There are ALOT of choices and I would say if you can that is, try them all, why not, they're bite size and not bad in prices. The store is small and packed with other snacks so I would say 5-6 people in and there is small spaces to move around...it's clean and well lite. They do have drinks too but I would stick with the dessert goods. Big parking lot and please keep it to yourself so we don't have to fight or wait for long time to get the goodies.
Than Thi Bakery treats don't last long when I bring them home! I tried them out for the first time this weekend. Other reviews prompted me to come, and I love to try new Vietnamese desserts. I tried out all the Jello flavors, and the flavors are all pretty subtle. They come in coconut, jackfruit, pandan, and coffee. For desserts, I tried their honeycomb cake, cassava, taro, and banana desserts, and a Salted Egg Yolk cupcake which I thought was totally unique.
One of my favorite small Vietnamese bakeries tucked in a small plaza. We love ordering them for family parties - they are so responsive and already have our items ready and packaged at the pickup time. We love the banh bo nuong, baked flan, baked banana, cassava, and taro bites here! Prices are also affordable and the items are always fresh and still warm. Service is speedy and great too. Perfect little treat for a group or yourself!
If I lived here I would totally come here more often. These are great for parties and gathering or even just a soft vietnamese snack. $1.50 per cake is really great as each piece is heafty. I got about 2 of each so I can try all of them. I love how fresh they are and theyre not too crazy sweet. My favorite is the steamed cake, and the panda mung bean. People are nice to help recommend. Come here for your party/anytime needs! They have drinks, grab and go pastries/food ===== Flan 4/5 Nice egginess, little denser than id like, but yummy for a sweet treat . Caramel isn't too bitter or coffee-y (detected none) Chicken with sticky rice 4/5 Good for a snack. Love their sticky rice with the hint of coconut, chicken isn't fall off the bone but it's tasty. Fried onions kept separate so they keep their crispness. Sauce is sweet and savory. Jackfruit ice cream 5/5 Perfect size and comes with chunks of fresh fruit! Jackfruit jelly 5/5 I'm more of a chewy jelly girl, but their "crunchy bite" ones are quite tasty. Great flavor without being too sweet. Spring rolls 5/5 Yummy!I like the quality of ingredients they have here. I thinkkk the sauce is pretty good, will have to retry lol Pork floss salted egg cake 5/5 Served cold with a slightly runny salted egg filling inside. Works well with nothing overpowering. Loved the soft cake and textures! Banh da lon 4/5 I do like a thicker bean filling, but these are good if you're in a pinch! They also come with a taro flavor as well Service 5/5 Stupendous! Thanh Thi is one of my favorite bakeries in Garden Grove. The bánh & jelly are always good. I like that you can save their jelly for days in the fridge and they are not sticky (go bad). The staff are very nice and the store is always clean. However, I'm not happy with my $5+tax cafe sua da. Look at how much ice it had and how big it was compared to the bánh container. There was also a lot of coffee grounds in the cup which was not very smooth to drink and to swallow. It will be best to stick to their original bánh & jelly :) read more

The staff here are sooooo friendly!!! We ordered in English and the lady taking our order was trying so hard to understand and help us! She was so friendly and we even chuckled at our pointing abilities haha! I love the dessert here, it's my first time here and you can literally smell what they're making in the parking lot! The jellies and the three colored dessert and the baked banana bread are absolutely delicious and it's a big plus that none of it was overly or too sweet! Making the dessert less heavy = me eating more!! There is lots of parking in the plaza and I definitely recommend anyone to come and try! It's definitely so rare nowadays for mom and pop shops like these! read more
This place is located in a small unassuming strip mall but the Vietnamese desserts here are worth navigating the small parking lot. The menu and displays cases inside are very bold and colorful and ordering the banh (cakes) and thach (jellies) is easy. Each item is the same size and you choose how many pieces you want. It's perfect for getting a small order for yourself or a big platter for catering. I got 12 pieces which came out to $15 and got one of everything (with one repeat) and it was all delicious. Dear Thanh Thi, I love your banana bread cassava cake, pan-dan mung bean pork skin cake. Things to avoid: there crispy sticky rice with chicken pork floss (greasy, oily, and bitter), sesame durian sticky rice (there is no durian!), pa te chaud (because it is dry and with little meat filling) Parking is small and difficult, small shop with standing room only. Service is fast and chaotic, they don't serve you in the order in which you pay. read more

I was craving sweet so I bought a lot of dessert items here. It was good to try out different things. I would recommend not to buy too many che and consume them the day of or the day after. 2 of my che went bad after 3 days and started to taste sour, probably due to the coconut milk. Here are the items I tried: * Mochi Dessert (Chè Trôi Nước) 4/5 - The big mochi balls were good and had mung beans inside. The little balls were just mochi. Reminded me of my childhood. This dessert is meant to be eaten warm with some of the ginger sugar sauce mixed with the coconut milk. * Honeycomb (Bánh Bò Nướng) 4/5 - Nice, sweet little treat. The honeycomb texture inside made it spongey and soft. * Steamed Rice Cake (Bánh Bò Hấp) 3/5 - A bit dry, the texture was not chewy. The taste was not very sweet either, maybe even a bit off. Tasted better with the coconut sauce. * Baked Banana (Chuối Nướng) 4/5 - Sweet, tasty banana treat, a little starchy. * Baked Cassava (Khoai Mì Nướng) 4/5 - Tasty treat with a light sweetness and a dense texture that make each bite satisfying. * Coconut Jelly (Thạch Dừa) 4/5 - This was a light, sweet coconut jelly. The coconut shavings within made it fun to eat. * Coffee Jelly (Thạch Cà Phê) 5/5 - The coffee flavor really came through in this refreshing, sweet treat. This was probably my favorite. * Flan 5/5 - The flan was creamy and delicious. The coffee sauce at the bottom made it taste even better. * Avocado Drink (Chè Bơ) 3/5 - The drink contained avocado pieces and other che toppings in a coconut milk sauce. The avocado pieces tasted okay. They didn't really fit in the che in terms of taste. I guess I was hoping this would be more of a smoothie. * Taro Pudding (Chè Khoai Môn) - This one went bad after 3 days and tasted sour. No rating since I threw it away. * Banana Pudding (Chè Chuối) - Was excited for this but it tasted acidic after 3 days. read more

Best banh bo nuong in OC! Comes out fresh, fragrant, and so moist. $1.50ea pastry and $6 chè. Small store & small parking lot but extra parking available in the back. They also take phone orders! read more
Lots of choice of Vietnamese dessert. Everything is good. Good service. They never hassle customers on minimal amount of purchase to use credit card or which method of payment like most places in the area. My favorite are the Thai dessert drink with durian, 4-layer cake, cassava cake, honeycomb cake, and the white coconut jello. I do not like the green jello with coconut. It's a bit bitter. Overall, great place to stop for dessert when you have a sweet tooth. read more
