The roasted duck has flavorful marination with nice thin skin, not too fatty. I also ordered Hainan chicken to go. The Vietnamese style uses ginger fish sauce just as I like it. The portion comes with a huge chicken thigh. My photo only shows a portion of it. The rice was cooked in chicken broth so it tasted delicious and rich. My favorite is the tofu pudding. We ordered heo quay (crispy roasted pork) and xa xiu (BBQ pork). The heo quay had crispy skin and was fairly moist, while the xa xiu was tender, flavorful, and had a nice char. For the price, the portion could be improved--there should be more meat. Service: 2 Service was inconsistent--some staff were friendly, while others were unresponsive when taking orders. The restaurant itself is simple, but the restroom needs better maintenance and should be cleared of stored items. This is a deli shop, food to go, asian bbq, and a small sit down restaurant, all-in-one. It used to be one of the two Yummy Pho locations. I've been here several times after 3:00 pm but their doors were always locked. Came today at noon and was so glad it was open. I thought it was a deli shop and food to go only but the lady told me I can dine in since they have three small tables right by the cash register. Ordered the glass noodles soup with white meat chicken. Since it is a Food To Go place, they served everything in a to go container. The lady chef told me she added a couple extra chicken wings since they were low on the breast meat but I told her I do not eat chicken skin. Ha ha. That was nice of her though. I was disappointed because I was expecting the same quality as Yummy Pho chicken soup in the older days but it was not! The soup broth was bland and had no flavor at all. The chicken breast was good though. So was the ginger dipping sauce. They go well together. We really missed the chicken pho from the original Yummy Pho that used to be here. This used to be Yummy Pho place but now they changed to Express place. Located in the Catinat Plaza and they have mostly everything like their sibling stores except banh mi and banh bao. They have speciality of pho, bun, mien, chao, and rice dishes. I ordered chao long and it's delish, tasty and very generous on the filling. The parking is huge so no worry in that. My favorite spot for cơm gà! I used to love their original Tuan Map location in Wells Fargo Plaza (now Yummy Bakery) and would often buy it for my company--everyone loved it. The rice, chicken, sauce, and mustard are the perfect combination. After they switched concepts to bánh bao, I couldn't find another cơm gà that matched my taste. I'm so glad it's back on the menu, and at $13, it's a great value. Even though it's an express to-go spot, you can still sit outside and relax when it's not busy.
