Tryouts this place today. Nothing special, lady's owner's rude . Too much talking in the background. Anyway. Won't be back

Wow very generous portions, delicious sauces, the egg cake was really good. Served and seated in minutes. Don't miss out on this hole in the wall gem!

Came here last Friday night because pho ALWAYSSSS HITS THE SPOT. The service here was amazing! Very friendly staff and the food was served quickly! At first I tried the pho and it seemed flavorless, but as I kept eating I began to really enjoy it! The soup stayed hot from beginning to end! It was so hot my rare steak was chewy and I did not enjoy that. But the overall good quality was tasty! It was clean and well kept which I also enjoyed. I recently stopped going to a pho spot closer to me, because I cannot stand how outdated and dirty it looks. This place will be our new favorite spot!

Its been a while's since the last time I tried Com tam thien hao, and this will be my first dining in. Came in on Friday around 1130 am for lunch, plenty of parking, but parking kind of tight. Got seated right away and I ordered my usual Com Tam Bi cha thit nuong tau hu ky. Soup n fish sauce came first, followed by the com tam. I love the thit nuong is actually grilled on a skewer and pulled off for you, had good flavor, the cha and bi were basic, tau hu ku was crispy and good flavor, the pickle veggies were fresh and refreshing. The nuoc mam/ fish sauce is on the slight saltier side, my personal preference is for it to be sweeter, but thats just me. The side soup was good, it's probably the same soup they use for their pho. Overall I enjoyed the com tam and smash everything, the portion size is big. I'll update my rating from years past to a solid 4/5 and would return.

Preface: I think it's not a strong four, it's definitely on the edge of a 3 and 4. To start, the vibe is there. Got that rinky dinky location and throwback design. Service was typical for a Vietnamese restaurant, probably on the better side tbh. As for the food, presentation makes the food underwhelming; however the taste is decent. Starting soup is nice and light, and the com tam itself is not bad. I think the pork should be smokier and the egg cake is definitely way too soft. Should be firmer but maybe that's just personal preference. Portions varied from plate to plate. The bbq beef rib was actually pretty smoky and had a good flavor and texture. Overall, it gets the job done, but has a lot of possible improvements!

Food: 3/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 I was recommended by my friend that this is a good spot to have com tam so I took a trip down to OC and gave it a shot. Parking was ok and restaurant is small. I got seated right away after check in. Ordered their special combo com tam, comes with grill pork chop, shredded pork, fried shrimp paste, and steam egg. The dish comes with the soup. As soon as I taste the soup, I can kind of guess what comes next. The food portion was small for $20, especially in this area. Right around the corner there is another restaurant that is cheaper, bigger portion and better tasting in my opinion but I have to give credit to their pork chop. Which is very tender and has good taste. I would consider this dish for under $15.

I was told this place had the best com tam in the area, so I had to check it out. I got the com tam suon nuong [pork chop] & com tam thit nuong [bbq pork]. Both dishes had a good amount of variety, and the portion size is big, so it's good to share a plate if you're not that hungry. I felt like it's okay. It's not the best com tam I ever had, but it gets the job done if you're craving it.

Com tam is my fav viet dish of all time and I've tried a bunch of different places and I really love Thien Hao's. Meat had a great barbeque flavor and the dish components were great. Usually some parts of com tam falls flat like their tra chung or tau hu ky but thien hao nails it across the board. Tradition vietnamese restaurant so don't expect great service. Good food, great portion size too! Shareable. Parking is good.

Beef rib, sugarcane shrimp & grilled chicken, fish cake and shrimp combo. Also come with a side of clean broth

We were recommended this spot by a friend from Utah, and it did not disappoint! It's a small place that gets really busy, but the staff moves quickly and efficiently. The service was great, but the food--absolutely amazing. As someone who doesn't eat pork, I really appreciated their solid non-pork options like chicken, beef, and shrimp. The shrimp cake was a standout--so flavorful! And their fish sauce? Easily one of the best I've ever had. This place has definitely earned a spot on my must-visit list every time I'm in SoCal.

Com tam bi cha suon nuong tau hu ky

Food was good. I ordered the com tam bi cha suon nuong with tau hu ky and my mom had the com tam bi cha suon nuong. We were both satisfied with our meals. My kids shared with me. I thought I was going to order more rice to go with the protein but my kids enjoyed the protein without the extra rice. There was definitely an abundance of protein. My only complaint is that the tau hu ky was not really shrimp paste. It was more of a pork cha. Service was decent. We came right before the lunch rush so we're seated immediately. Food came out pretty timely so no complaints there. The space was quite tight. There was not much space between the table we sat at and the table next to us. My daughter was in a high chair and there were inconsiderate people we sat next to that wouldn't move so I could pay for my check but it wasn't the fault of the restaurant. Anyways, I'd definitely come back again!

We got the best combination plate on the menu. We shared a #38 :). This restaurant also has a light dessert menu as well!

Disappointed in my plate. I shared #44 with my mom as the photos looked like it would be big enough to full the both of us. It was $20 for the big portion so we thought it was worth it. The presentation looked filling, however we couldn't finish our food because it just wasn't satisfactory. The protein claimed to be BBQ ribs with fried shrimp cake and shrimp paste on sugarcane. The bbq seemed to be skirt steak in BBQ marinade and both shrimp items had no taste of shrimp (more like "cha ca" or fish sausage). The egg cake was also pretty mushy. The bì was average. Nuoc mam was bland. I wish I had better things to say!

My Vietnamese friend recommended this one to me when I ask about the best broken rice places. I had a noodle bowl and a broken rice plate. The portion is huge. And they are delicious. Will come again.

It really nails that traditional Northern-style flavor profile. Pro tip: make sure to mix in some sa tế, as it completely amplifies the broth and takes it to the next level! Also, I'm so hyped that the Cháo Sườn Quẩy is FINALLY back on the menu! It came out piping hot and is just as comforting as I remember. The bread was nicely toasted and served warm, making it easy to share. Bánh Ướt Đặc Biệt - $14.50 Steamed rice sheets topped with pork patties, fried tofu, and fresh vegetables, served with a house fish sauce. The sauce leaned light and slightly sweet, which may appeal to some but felt a bit mild overall. Bún Chả Hà Nội - $16.50 Rice vermicelli served with grilled pork, pork patties, fresh herbs, and house fish sauce. Similar to the other dish, the sauce was on the lighter side in terms of flavor. The protein portions also felt a bit small for the price. Service My party and I were greeted and seated promptly upon our arrival. A server brought menus and returned shortly after to take our order. However, they did not check-in throughout the dining experience. We arrived about 30 minutes before closing and the food came out quickly. Payment is processed at the register near the back by the kitchen. Ambiance The restaurant is dimly lit with plenty of seating for dine-in. Location It is located in a strip plaza with a shared parking alongside other businesses.

Over all those years, they have never disappointed me and continue to serve really good food. I usually get the beef brisket pho and it's really good. The noodles are just the right texture, the broth is clean and flavorful, and the meat tastes fresh and tender. Their dui bo is also very good, but usually runs out after 1:00 or 2:00 pm, since they only have a limited amount of this item every day. The meat is fall off the bone tender and has a more fatty flavor to it. It usually sits in some broth that absorbs that beefy and fatty flavor from the bone. A great addition to any bowl of pho. Alternatively, I sometimes also get the bun thit nuong and it's very good. The eggrolls it comes with is wrapped with rice paper, so when it's fried up, it has such a satisfying crunch and texture to it. The thit nuong is has a nice smokey, grilled flavor to it. The shrimps are okay as well. This is a very satisfying and filling dish, so if you're looking for a high volume dish, this may be the one to get. Expect long lines during peak hours. I can confirm though that the wait is worth it! Service is always very good. The ambiance on the inside is fine, very plain and unassuming in my opinion. I'm not one to usually order extra noodles but for this place I would order as many noodles until I ran out of broth, it is that good. Noodles were on the soggier side, I'm not picky about noodles but if you are then this is something to consider. Portions were huge for the price, very happy with that. CASH ONLY. We started with the Vietnamese coffee ($7), which was bold, strong, and nicely balanced with the sweetness from the condensed milk. A great way to kick things off. The egg rolls ($10) were packed with beef, shrimp, wood ear mushroom, and vermicelli--crispy on the outside and paired perfectly with fresh lettuce and fish sauce. The standout for me was the flaming wagyu ($18), torched tableside. For how thick the cut was, it was incredibly tender and soft. Definitely go medium rare. The ponzu dipping sauce really enhances the richness of the beef. We also tried the shaken beef ($21), which came with plenty of caramelized onions and bell peppers that added a subtle sweetness. The beef was slightly charred, bite-sized, and super satisfying--especially with rice. The combo pho ($25) came loaded with a variety of meats, all tender and melt-in-your-mouth. The broth had a deep, beefy richness, and the noodles were perfectly soft. Add in the garnishes for some crunch and it really ties everything together.
