Vans Bakery has been around since I was a little kid and not much has changed about it at all. The cake decorations remained the same but most importantly the quality has remained the same. My parents have been going to this particular Vans for so many years now and I am going here as a regular as well. I ordered my beautiful wedding cake here and it was everything I had imaged. The price was good and the service ordering and delivering the cake was great! The decor was beautifully designed and the flavor I chose was the delicious pandan coconut. It was definitely one of the highlights of my wedding night! Things I would highly recommend here are definitely their cakes. I've honestly tried them all and they are all very delicious. Pandan coconut is my number one and probably my second favorite is the flan jello cake. I would also recommend the pork pate Chaud and also the pandan coconut waffles! read more

I come here to get Xi Muoi (dried salted plums), seems like the last place that has the super salty kind... And they're sooo good, full body goosebumps as soon as I eat the first one. The staff were nice and helpful. I came to get a coconut pandan cake for a birthday. The cake itself was a little dry but the coconut filling was good and coconut pieces were soft. The cream around the cake was dry and stale. The flower decoration was hard and breaking up. The cream for the border decoration was falling off as we were cutting it because it was dried up. I had not been back here for decades. It's still the same as I remembered, except less jerkies and plums pickles. Easy parking since they are in a big plaza with big parking lot. Service is nice and friendly. Still got my to go VNese banh gan or dark flan liked. They are or used to known for their cakes for sheet cake, which are quite good with decent price. The place has that comfy vibe for me since they're the 1st big bakery shop back in the 80s and whatever you're craving for (VNese snacks, smoothly, banh mi, etc) they got it and best of all, it's very affordable. I usually get coffee, bánh lọt with coconut milk, and different pastries. The desserts are enjoyable and not overly sweet , the flavors are well balanced. The bakery is spacious and clean. The older ladies who work here are very friendly, warm, and welcoming. Each location has plenty of parking, making it very easy to park. One big plus is that they don't charge for plastic bags. I got a coconut pandan cake for Easter, and my future in-laws really enjoyed it! We were celebrating two birthdays along with Easter, so the pretty pastel green color theme of the cake was perfect! Van's bakery is so fresh, delicious, and always packed with people for a reason. I highly recommend the coconut pandan cake. I got a size small for $25, what a great price. After having dinner, I was craving for a coconut pandan slice of cake. The ladies mistakenly thought I wanted 4 pieces and packed them in small boxes. Once I reiterated that I only want one slice. Instead of giving one of the slices they packed. One lady told me to wait and she went to the back and returned with my one slice. When I got home, I ate the cake and found that it was wet and sour. I think she switch it for an old slice of cake and rehydrated it. So sad that the one time I wanted to eat cake, the bakery team gave me a bad one on purpose. If I could I would leave no stars. Van's is one of my family's go-tos for light, delicious not-too-sweet cakes. They always have a good stock even if we don't order ahead, in various sizes. You can get half/half of two different flavors if you get a big enough cake and order ahead of time. We like the durian only (have to call in order day prior otherwise it's mixed with coconut if you just show up at the bakery to get a cake) and mocha a lot! First time here, we ordered a large size durian cake and husband/wife cake for our engagement. The Dorian cake was reasonably priced. I think it was $45-$50. It was a little on a sweeter side then we would like, I think if they were to use less sugar than it would be perfect. I believe the husband/wife cake was $1.50 per piece but if you want the husband/white cake to be placed in those tiny engagement boxes then it will cost $2.75 per piece. Ayo!!!! Happy 2025! 1st review of this new year. I'm from LA and needed to get away from all the fires and stumbled upon this cute bakery that was next to the infamous Cococane sugarcane juice. I smelled the sent of Pandan Mochi Waffles as I was walking by so had to go inside. They were quite busy as there was a line of people picking up cakes, so they must be good. I ordered 1 waffle and walked around the bakery. I was impressed how clean and organized the bakery was with all the different types of packaged goods. The waffle was just had i remembered, Crispy on the outside and moist and chewy on the inside and it's not too sweet which is a big compliment to any Asian Dessert. Staff was very friendly, they accept cards but minimum is $10. Huge parking lot so it's very convenient. Come check this Vietnamese bakery out for some delicious cakes, sweets and snacks. read more

The Full Moon of the 9th month of the Lunar Calendar is the fullest most stunning full moon of the year. It is also celebrated as the Mid-Autumn Festival or Harvest Moon. During this time of the year we have moon cake to gift our family and friends. The people who want to flex extra hard get the expensive fillings to look baller. Van's Bakery is my Aunt's favorite place for moon cake. Since my Aunt helped raise me, I always make sure to honor her with some moon cakes every year. It's funny though because my parents and my aunt like different spots so I make multiple stops every year. I always get her 4 of the Ngu Huong Chay which is a vegetarian fruits and nuts filling. When you gift mooncakes for Vietnamese vegetarians you have to be mindful cause the non specific vegetarian mooncakes all have an eggwash exterior to make it shiny, so the chay one ensures these are purely vegetarian. The mooncakes here are more expensive than other places. Also I don't really enjoy their cakes. They have the super traditional stuff like the coconut cake or fruit tarts you get at Vietnamese birthday parties. Super OG and tacky. I wouldn't personally get anything here if it wasn't per specific request. read more

Recent bride here and I had to share the amazing experience I had at Van's Bakery. They made it so easy to select the style and flavor of cake. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted but Van was amazing providing expertise anywhere I had questions. They also have cake stands available to rent to make your cake have more wow factor without having to add an additional layer to the cake! I ended up not being able to use it because the table was too small and they took it back no problem. They are also able to deliver the cake as well which made my wedding day stress free! The place is not well maintained. Foods are mediocre and the last time I was there, I ordered a sugarcane juice drink only to spit my first sip out immediately because of this sour, fermented taste which could only happen when the sugarcane juice had gone bad. I was disgusted and disappointed because these people had no ethics as a business owner. They should have check their food or anything that would go to the consumer to make sure that it's fresh and clean. I also purchased some snacks but ended up tossing them in the trash because they were inedible. We stopped by the Vans store two weekends ago to grab a few of my favorite cookies: Bánh ống, Bánh Gai, and Bánh Hạnh Nhân. Sadly, they no longer have Bánh Ống cookies. We tried the others. The first bite was very disappointing because there was no taste of any coconut milk, even though they are not that bad. But they are not the same as the original, traditional cookies. Please bring back the coconut ingredients. The store displayed much fewer items than it used to, which was another downside of Vans Bakery. The service is always fast here. Overall, Vans Bakery is still one of the few stores carrying these kinds of cookies, so gladly, they are still running. They got 2 1/2 stars, in my opinion. read more

We were saddened by the closing of the Vans bakery off Harbor blvd and we were hoping this OG location would come through for our daughter's birthday. Sadly that was not the case. Their fruit tart which was a staple of many of our birthdays was an epic failure. Sure it look good from the outside, presentation was spot on and consistent but taste and texture an epic disaster. The flakey crust which is a signature of their tart was stale and lifeless and not up to their standards. Service was quick and easy but can't recommend this location. read more

I got a 4 a layer cake for 250 people at my wedding. Half my cake was vanilla strawberry and the other half was coconut pandan. Coconut pandan flavor was delicious, fresh, and not too sweet. My husband and I were supposed to save the top layer of the cake for our anniversary but we ate it the day after our wedding because it was just so good! I dont recommend the strawberry vanilla because it was dry. Also you cant beat the price of the cake. read more
