    Pork pate chaud
    Amy E.

Hubby picked up food here a little later in the afternoon so everything was not available that we wanted to try. We got the chicken and pork pate chaud and were immediate fans! So flakey and the meat was flavored really well and very moist. We got the Viet coffee and it was nice and strong with a wonderful roasted aftertaste. The steamed pork baos were just ok, we found the bao to be a bit dense and the filling a bit too sweet.

The BEST pate chaud, we were brainstorming places for a light snack with morning drinks and our vietnamese friends eyes lit up when I was reading Gala off the list of some places I had bookmarked. They vouched for the chicken and pork pate chaud as well as the banh mi. Unfortunately they had no bread today so we were not able to try the banh mi. Good news is we were able to try 6 each chicken and pork as well as their baos. Pork pate chaud, very large triangle puffed pastry. The meat is super well seasoned and is stunning. I left some for a Japanese relative picky about food and she loved it. The chicken one is the size of the pork pate chaud at other places and I liked it more since it felt more bite sized and not so large. Same insanely good meat seasoning as the pork, this is my new favorite. Baos were good, the quail egg ones were very fresh today. I didn't like the ultra thin layer on bottom of the bao because it felt like the meat was going to fall out so I ate them upside down.

My all time favorite coffee. The best Vietnamese coffee I've ever had, and I've tried a lot. I drive 25 minutes every week to get some coffee and chicken pate chaud. The coffee is so flavorful with a good kick. I honestly can't get enough of this coffee, it's seriously the best I've ever had. And the chicken pate chaud is so perfect for a simple morning snack. It's on a small street and hidden in a small plaza so make sure not to miss it!

This is our go-to bakery for pate chaud every time we stay overnight in OC. We would wake up and bring back a dozen for breakfast. The pate chaud is moist, juicy, the puff pastry is consistent and not dry or broken or oily. The chicken is made in a square shape and the pork is in a triangle. I prefer the chicken over the pork. Both meats are very flavorful but the pork is oily and a bit more salty. I also prefer the chicken because it's in a square shape. You get the equal proportion of meat and puff pastry. Whereas, the triangle pork shaped is airy, my meaning of bready because the pork is in the center so you'll have to bite through each corners of just bread before you can get to the meat. If the pork was made into a square shape, then I wouldn't mind. The chicken is cheaper at $1.35 each versus pork at $2.15 each. I also tried the chocolate croissant. It's the rectangle shaped not triangle croissant shaped. The chocolate was evenly distributed throughout and not so sweet but I feel something is missing with the outer shell. Eating the pate chaud fresh out the oven is the best. Parking here is limited but people do leave rather quickly to pick up and leave. They sell beverages like Vietnamese coffee, mung bean, and mung bean with pandan as well as Vietnamese sandwiches, sweets, and other items found on the counter.

I stopped by here for some quick snacks with my family during our trip in California. The place is small with limited menu, so we just ordered the pandan leaves mixed with green bean drinks, which is the only thing they have on the menu other than banh mi (vietnamese sandwich). The drink was a tad bit too sweet for me and very concentrated. I had to water it down with ice to make it taste better.

I enjoy their coffee and chicken pate chaud. Everything is pre made so freshness will vary when you come in. Still very good overall. Are they following covid food safety protocol? Ive seen money handled before and after items have been given on several occasions. Come see for yourself.

Lots of seating and very loud when it's crowded. I wouldn't be able to study in here. Cashier was friendly and gave good recs. I'd say the prices are good for the portion and quality of drinks. What I ordered: -Matcha Pandan: I didn't want it too sweet and the cashier recommended to order as is and ask to adjust once I try it. It was definitely too sweet, I barely tasted the matcha. I requested for more of the matcha flavor and the worker kindly accommodated for me, which I appreciated. After the adjustment I still feel like it could've been more matcha-y but I didn't want to be difficult so I just took it. I think pandan is just not my thing. 3/5 (I will say I got the matcha einspanner another time and it was so much better so I definitely recommend that for those who like sweet drinks but still want the matcha flavor to be prominent. It was a 5/5 for me). Overall, I'd come back if I'm in the area again. Workers are very friendly and efficient and drinks are good, especially the matcha!

They do free birthday drinks on the day of your birthday when you show your ID! Inside is big with nice seating options, music is a bit loud so if you come to study then bring headphones! Parking is free but can be BUSY depending on when you go. Banana Coffee is a 10/10. Sweet and strong, just the way I like it. Matcha Strawberry was an 8.5/10. Strawberry forward and sweet! Matcha was a little grainy but it still tasted great. Will absolutely be coming back to try other drinks!

Full of ground pork and ribs, it was nice and flavorful yet gentle and soothing. The rice cakes dish actually has been one of my favorite Vietnamese appetizers since childhood, and I always order it whenever I find it on the menu. We both agreed the version we had here was one of our favorite - the light crisp to the rice cakes and the ratio of eggs and crispy fried shallots on top was so nice. The skillet came with a nice big baguette and salad. They give a generous portion of steak, and huge meatballs, and everything is seasoned perfectly. The restaurant is nice and bright, and they really took good care of us and served everything fast and fresh.

However, service was a little slow. The restaurant was small and not too busy. We came on a weekend around 11 am. Ordered a few things off the menu and several drinks. My favorite was the sup nui. Reminds me of my childhood comfort food. The banh mi chao was also excellent. We also had the garlic noodles and the hoi an chicken. That dish was probably my least favorite but still very good. The chicken wings were also very very good. All the drinks were also very good. Will definitely be coming back.
