The cupcakes lived up to the yelp reviews. I ordered four dozen full size cupcakes for a child's birthday party. Two dozen triple chocolate, and two dozen strawberry wedding cheesecake. People raved about the strawberry cheesecake. I was asked by multiple people where I got these cupcakes from. I had the chance to sample both, and honestly the triple chocolate was delicious as well. The cake is moist, the frosting buttery and not super sweet. I can see why the strawberry cheesecake was the star of the show among the parents, though. As for customer service - great! Cupcake ready when promised. Larry helped me carry my order to the car, and gave me good instructions on care and transport. I would order from him again for any event. read more

I've been ordering cupcakes from here since COVID and they have never disappointed me. The cupcakes are always delicious and not overly sweet, which I really like. They are also very reliable with pickup times, and my orders are always ready when scheduled. I usually order the mini cupcakes for my kids' birthdays at school. My kids especially love the triple chocolate and the strawberry wedding favors flavors. The only small issue I've had is transporting them to school. Sometimes the mini cupcakes tilt a little during the drive. Other than that, everything has always been great and the cupcakes are always a hit with the kids. read more

I spoke with Larry about doing a gender reveal cake. He had some great ideas, and was extremely flexible as well! I am gluten free so I couldn't eat it, however the icing was amazing! I found The Baking Fool online while looking for bakeries near our wedding venue and I'm so glad I did! My now-husband and I did an OC bakery crawl one Saturday to pick where to order our cutting cake and cupcakes from and we both chose The Baking Fool as our top choice based on price, flavor, texture (we tried triple chocolate and ordered that flavor as well as caramel apple and pumpkin spice for our wedding - all fantastic!). They also had great suggestions for us as a business that's baked for weddings before, and pricing was great for the result. WOW WOW WOW!! I cannot say enough good things about this company and their delicious desserts. The owners are a pleasure to deal with. Larry was so nice and such a funny guy. Their prices are unbeatable and their dessert quality is unmatched. I ordered a total of 48 mini cupcakes for my son's first birthday party (24 funfetti & 24 carrot cake). Both were absolutely delicious but the funfetti are to die for. To put it into perspective: I had about 45 adults and 10 children (including babies) at this party and only 6 cupcakes were leftover. We also had a large sized nothing Bundt Cake and over 70 macarons served. We probably had enough dessert to feed a 100 person party. So the fact that we had only 6 cupcakes left blew my mind. The mini cupcakes were the star of the show. I am not exaggerating when I say that everyone approached me to ask where the cupcakes came from. I happily provided The Baking Fool's info to them! I had an excellent experience with this company for my sister's graduation! They were so accommodating and attentive when I placed my order. The order came out better than expected, the cupcakes were gorgeous and absolutely delicious! They were the most talked about by my guests at the event, hands down! They conveniently offer delivery and set up, and the owner let us kindly borrow a wooden stand to set the cakes on which was lovely. He also created custom flavor cards with the school logo on them which was a nice touch! I was looking last minute for a smash cake and to my surprise I stumbled on the baking fool! After review of his Instagram page his designs were extremely impressive! I took a chance and WOW!!! Larry is very polite, extremely talented and very professional in his work passion. The cake was delicious and so easy for my grandson to dive into with mouth wide open. Like some specialty cakes the outside is a bit difficult for 1 years old to get into there first cake but Larry's cake is just perfect inside and out! I ordered 120 mini cupcakes for our baby shower in the flavors Double Chocolate, Strawberry Wedding Cake, Red Velvet, Confetti, and Caramel Macchiato, and they were a huge hit! We had about 97 guests (including kids), and pretty much all of the cupcakes were gone by the end of the event. The quantity worked out perfectly. The cupcakes were delicious. I honestly am not usually a cream cheese frosting person, but the frosting on both the standard and specialty cupcakes was so good. My husband especially loved the Red Velvet and Strawberry Wedding Cake flavors. One of our guests even mentioned that they normally don't like cake and raved about how good the cupcakes were. Ordering was also very easy. I loved that their website had all the information needed, and placing the order over the phone was simple. Larry was easy to get ahold of and very helpful throughout the process. We did have a small hiccup the day of the event, but Larry and his wife truly went above and beyond to make things right and ensure we got our cupcakes and were happy with the outcome. My fiancé ordered cupcakes from The Baking Fool for my bridal shower and they were absolutely perfect! They were a hit! My fiance said working with Lawrence was incredibly easy. My shower was subtley Disney themed so he wanted to incorporate that theme into the cupcakes. My fiance told Lawrence what he had in mind and Lawrence walked him through what he could do. He even made recommendations and threw in ideas that my fiance could work with. Lawrence was also super accommodating! My fiance even added a dozen cupcakes last minute and Lawrence was able to help us out! He's the best. The cupcakes themselves were so beautiful! AND DELICIOUS. We tried these mini cupcakes at a friend's kid's birthday party and they were so good we got them for our kid's birthday party. Ordered last minute (2 days before) and were expecting to be turned away like some other places but Larry worked with us and got the cupcakes made in time for our party! We got the lemon and red velvet mini cupcakes. Practically everyone asked me where I got the cupcakes from - they were that good. First of all Larry is literally a king!!! He is so sweet and so easy to work with! Picking up the desserts is easy and simple! Just drove up and the scheduled time and rang the doorbell and he was so helpful with helping me get the cake into my car. I was a bit late picking up the cake and gave him a call and he was super understanding. This is my second time ordering from his business and I am a baker myself who is always in charge of making all the family members cakes. I vow not to bake my own and I'm hesitant sometimes to entrust another person to make my cake. When I say with the bottom of my heart having my cake baked by Larry is *chefs kiss* every time I've ordered I've never ever been dissatisfied. The cake I ordered was a red velvet cake it was so delicious! The cheesecakes, and cupcakes too are perfectly moist and amazing frosting!!! For my 25th birthday the theme was 25 butter be good and I called Larry up and he was so happy to do it! He thought it was funny too. I let him take free rein and I was so happy with the end product. He made paper on the bottom of the cake to look like it was wrapped stick of butter and the knife to look like someone was cutting to get some butter. We found Larry on Yelp and was amazed by all the reviews so we took a chance ordering our wedding cake from him and it was the best decision ever!! Our wedding cake flavor was triple chocolate with raspberry filling and let me tell you there wasn't a single piece of cake leftover (I wish so now I gotta order another one haha)! We all couldn't stop raving about how delicious it tasted. It fluffy, moist, and had the right amount of sweetness (not too sweet) so it was perfect for all ages at our party. Since we had a micro wedding we did a simple cake with black frosting, black ganache dripping and flowers to match our October wedding for spooky season and it came out beautiful. Stumbled upon this hidden gem when visiting my family's friend house which is located in this neighborhood. The owner (I assumed) was super friendly and waved at me. I was like wow what a nice neighbor. Then when I was about to leave i took a glanced over and saw their banner "The Baking Fool". I quickly went on yelp and wanted to support them. I didn't even expect much tbh! I called and the gentleman picked up the phone and i asked what cupcakes he had left, he said red velvet cheesecake. In my mind i was like eh, since i'm NOT a fan of cheesecake nor red velvet, like I said wanted to support local home bakery! When i got home I took a bite and OH MY GOODNESS, the BEST cupcake ever, i love how its not TOO SWEET, it was just so so moist!! *drooling while writing this review* Oh, did i mentioned i am not a fan of cheesecake nor RV? TOTALLY CHANGED MY WHOLE PERSPECTIVE. I called back the very next day and two days later but sadly they ran out and looks like they are completely BOOKED, which is good for them!! This review is overdue. I can't begin to describe how delicious our dessert bar was! I was in a panic to find a new baker and luckily, my aunt came across Larry's place on Yelp. I called Larry immediately to place an order and wow, did he deliver on every promise. We did a full dessert bar for our wedding. Mini cupcakes, mini cheesecakes, so many different flavors. Everyone loved them. My only regret is I didn't get to try everything but as the bride I kind of expected that. You're almost too busy to eat. My family will definitely be ordering for future parties and events. Photos are only a small preview of what we had. However, the email only indicated that they were ready to be picked up anytime Mon-Sun at their popup location. When we arrived, the told us that they had taken back our order because it had been over 5 days and no one had picked them up yet. Then they told us they would try and see if they could recreate our order. TBH, that is the absolute most ridiculous way to do business. No where on their site did it say it had to be picked up within a certain timeframe, AND no where on their confirmation pick up email did it say it had to be picked up by a certain timeframe either. On top of that, they said that we should have called them. Um no, it's your small business, you have left over orders that need to be picked up, then you need to reach out to the customers and let them know they only have so many more days to pick them up before they are forfeited. That's how all small business, food-related or not, handle thing, especially when there are timeframe constraints. To be clear, the time constraint was not an issue IF they had even expressed there is one, but they never did. Please clean up on your business practices, it's very important to communicate with your customer base.

We ordered a large order of coffee, Oreo, triple chocolate, and strawberry wedding cheesecake cupcakes for our wedding. The cupcakes were such a hit with all our guests! So soft and yummy, and just the perfect amount of richness and sweetness. Many people commented on how they loved that the Oreo cupcakes had a whole Oreo on the bottom. Our families were sad when we finally ran out of the leftover cupcakes haha. We used their delivery service for $50 and it was well worth it! Larry was so professional throughout the whole process leading up to the wedding and answered all our questions about payment and options so patiently. The day of our wedding went so smoothly. Larry came on time and worked so well with our coordinators as to not disrupt any wedding activities going on, and he made sure to check with us that everything was exactly as we wanted before he left! He set up the cupcakes so beautifully using our cupcake stands (after we set up the stands). Everything looked gorgeous and pristine. It was so nice to not have to worry about picking up that many cupcakes ourselves and worrying about anything happening en route. read more

Ordered 6 dozen mini cupcakes for a Baby Shower yesterday and they were a huge hit! 2 dozen each of Triple Chocolate, Strawberry and Red Velvet. All of the guests took one of each and had nothing but good things to say. People kept coming back for more and wanted to know where I got them from. The mini cupcakes were so moist and tasty. Perfect ratio of cake to frosting and the frosting was not overly sweet. Next time, I will be sure to ask Larry for some business cards so I can share them at the event. Hidden Gem! Larry & his wife bake straight out of their home and the the result is absolutely AMAZING. Brought 2 dozen cupcakes for a birthday party and they were devoured instantly. I personally took the double chocolate snack cake which was giant. The chocolate was solid, smooth, rich, and well balanced without being overly sweet. I'm personally a big chocolate fan so this was perfect for me, I'm going to share the rest of this chocolate with friends and family. They had other treats that looked delicious. The owner was kind and made conversation with everybody. I recommend this place and I plan on visiting their store.

I waited the 15 minutes that the staff recommended, and the texture was spot on. As for flavor, it was slightly nutty but other than that didn't really have much of a Dubai type flavor. The chocolate didn't come through too much and the pistachio flavor was very light. I had the feeling this would be an expensive touristy type food stand, and I feel like I was right. The treats here are interesting sounding and beautiful to look at, but in the end I think it is an expensive 'viral treat' trap. I personally don't think I will try this place again.

The sizes I saw were the personal slice, small, medium, and large. I picked up the small for $40 and our group of 6 all enjoyed a decent sized slice and still had about half the cake left. The taste and texture were good. One improvement I think they could make is friendliness. The lady who helped us didn't greet us. She stood there until we asked her for the small and then got the cake and boxed it.
