(Where does the time go??!) She gave them an inspo photo of what she wanted and arranged for pickup on her actual birthday. When we brought her cake to her as we sang "Happy Birthday" she was thrilled! They recreated her inspo pic perfectly! She had requested an almond cake with raspberry mousse filling. I was told "my crowns looks different" and she brought out a mold for what looked like a tiara. So "custom" work is now limited to whatever stamps or molds they have on hand. As of 01/20/2020: The business is under new ownership and I met the new owner. She seems nice. I bought a birthday cake, and you can see from my photos I've bought MANY special occasion cakes in the past 5 years. Recipe is the same but my cake was a little dry and the decorations were lack luster. I usually just tell Ashley (tall Caucasian blonde lady) the cake decorator a general idea of what I want and they usually wow me! Unfortunately this cake was very monochromatic and it didn't wow me for an Elsa cake. For example they used a silver writing on the white cardboard, so it didn't stand out. Also the silver dots on the top weren't spaced out evenly, which is minimal but it makes a big deal if I'm taking special occasion pictures with this cake. I typically get my non special occasion cakes from Patty's cakes in Fullerton just because I don't feel like Patty's cakes can decorate as well as Amazing Cakes. At this point I might try Patty's cakes for a special occasion cake now. As of 02/19/2019: 3 years ago I bought a "Happy birthing cake" for myself when I delivered our little girl. Owner is absolutely horrible and a liar. She is impatient and makes you feel like you are wasting her time. I came in to request 9 gender reveal cupcakes. She seemed for impatient, but I let it slide due to the fact she she would fit me in since they were booked. I was very happy she did that. However, she gave me weird looks and seemed to be in a rush the whole time I was trying to decide. Upon ordering, she had never mentioned to me that getting a two toned frosting cupcake might mess up the reveal inside the actual cupcake. If this was mentioned, of course I would have not bought it. Next, owner said they were limited on flavors. I requested lemon, she responded by saying "perfect". I leave the shop happy. A few hours later, calls me back and says they ran out so only 3 cupcakes are lemon. Understanding, I said okay. They have very limited flavor options. Gender reveal cupcakes were completely messed up in the inside. I live an hour away. She would not refund me unless I brought all the cupcakes back. She was extremely rude over the phone. My gender reveal was messed up because the people weren't able to tell the gender from these cupcakes, so I wasn't able to record proper reactions. She wouldn't even be kind enough to give me a refund when she messed up the most important day of my life. Horrible service we had custom cake done and at the time off pick up we found out that they used a styrofoam plate to design the ribbon. We questioned it and they said that it was order that way. My sister which is a Chef placed the order and knowing her she would not order it that way. Then their "cake designer" came out and gave an excuse that the ribbon would be too heavy if they used fondant or white chocolate. Then owner came out to say that we don't know anything about cakes and they do, she also accused us of yelling at her employees, when all we did was asked if they can use thin white chocolate instead but nobody wanted to do something about it until we kept insisting. They finally decided to fix the problem which only takes 20 min which we are willing to wait. I would never recommend this place due to the fact they made it sound like we are stupid.
