I was fascinated and amazed from the time we got on Beach Boulevard and tried to turn into the parking lot. You had to strategically maneuver to get into the parking lot as you searched for a parking space. Many of the parking spaces were too small because of the large vehicles that were already on either side of that spot. It was so busy and this was a Sunday afternoon. It was a gridlock procession driving up the rows waiting for someone to leave so we could park. We finally found one and went inside the famous Porto's. I couldn't believe how large it was, and how there was a bakery on two sides so you could enter either to order. The place was bustling with people sitting out on the patio, sitting in the restaurant, at the coffee bar and people waiting in the long lines. The lines surprisingly moved quickly, which I was very pleased about. The hardest part was trying to figure out what you wanted to order, Everything looked, smelled and sounded mouth watering. I loved their assortment of choices. Everything was freshly baked and prepared. You could see the chefs through the glass preparing dishes and making desserts. I LOVED the prices! Very affordable. This is what I ordered spinach feta empanadas, an almond croissant, apple strudel, potato balls, chicken empanadas, a baked ham and cheese croissant and that was To-go. We ate for lunch the Chicken Plateau Cubana and the Lecha Plata Gabbana. I also ordered the cauliflower and broccoli soup and everything and I mean everything I ordered and took home was delicious. I loved the flavor with the exception of the soup. I just don't think cauliflower and broccoli are a good mix for me. The croissants and the empanadas and the potato balls. They were just savory and flaky and flavorful, and I'm just in love and I'm definitely going back!
