Macarons are notoriously difficult to make, so we tend to judge them harshly after having had some excellent ones from Paris, including Ladurée. These held their own in a very real way, which is not easy to do. Each macaron had a crisp exterior with a soft interior and light, balanced filling. The flavors were thoughtful, unique, and included seasonal options that made the spread feel special and elevated. While they are a premium dessert, especially the seasonal or larger varieties, they are absolutely worth it for a show stopping table. Out of the two dozen we ordered, I had five and then sent my husband back for three more. No regrets. Service was quick and our few questions were answered. The process was so simple and easy, I just sent an email inquiry and as soon as I heard back from them (1-2 days after), I called to place and confirm my order. For custom cakes, they require a deposit, and then the rest of the payment can be made near or on the pick-up date. They also go over their policy with you over the phone. My sister was very particular of how she wanted her birthday cake. She specified that she wanted a carrot cake with cream-cheese frosting, heart-shaped, baby-blue in color with sparkles, and have black bows. The bakery doesn't make any non-edible add-ons so I had to provide the black bows, and it turned out absolutely beautiful that we didn't want to eat it! Carrot cake was delicious, we all enjoyed it.
